Warning: English is not my mother language. There'd be some grammatical errors and weird sentences, please be aware! Sporadic Updates!
A/N: Since there are too many Sorina fanfics, I decided to add the fanfic of the pairing that I liked the most. This is written for fun solely, and I don't own Shokugeki No Souma.
A Journey of Life
Prologue:
What she wished, amidst the Winter
A lonely snowflake toppled from the sky, in the hope to meet its numerous companions, only getting stopped by a bundle of her hair. The cold breeze of January blew, crisp and cold.
Shivering, she wrapped herself around her arms. Her nose became red, as she sniffed slightly in the invading cold breeze.
Her scarf littered around her face, the wool cuddling to her face in the colder January. The stars shimmered around the sky, the moon cradled her face as it shone the moonlight above her, turning her pale face, even paler.
A shooting star fell as her violet eyes brightened. She clasped her hand, and her eyes fluttered before they fastened together as the eyelid covered her brilliant violet eyes.
The eyes that could make anyone fall in love with it immediately. The alluring sheen that radiated along, with a serene smile that she kept on her face. She was the embodiment of beauty, a man would say, had he seen her under the moonlight.
'I hope they can be happy,' a person would ask for a wish for oneself to be happy. They always did, she was not one of them, she never was.
A soft chuckle escaped her mouth as her mind was filled with a brink of thoughts. The silliness of her antics, she chastised herself. She needed to be strong. Strong for Erina-sama. Her mistress was fragile as a rose, a day without care or support, and she'd wither.
She knew it so, she knew it better than anyone else. Better than one could ever know her mistress.
As she twirled around, a single thought at the corner of the empty room in her mind asked a question, 'Can I be happy too?'
Another giggle escaped her softs lips, softer than any cotton. This time it was more hearty than it was before. It had been a long while since she had asked or thought of anything for herself.
'Perhaps. No, yes. Yes, I would.' She had assured herself from the day she had started working for the Nakiris. But she was sure that she would. 'There is always a light, a light of hope. It is always there, at the ends of even the darkest tunnels.' Her mother had preached it, and would not remain herself if she forgot it.
Forgot, would she not. It was the final words of her mother before she rested forever on her bed, covered with Sakura blossoms. Before her final breath, and before the end of the journey of life.
Her feet crunched against the snow-covered pavement, her eyes brightened at the sight of the numerous street lights, and that too in succession. Her nose wrinkled as she made past the garbage cans and the back allies. Dark they were.
Her hand made its way to the pockets of the leather coat, as all she heard was her boot, stamping against the snow, marking footsteps, and appearing like those of a lone traveler.
'Well, I am a lone traveler,' she scoffed drily as her cheeks tinted red with the continuous snow. It was not an easy task for one to walk 1 Kilometer without exhausting her. Especially for her, as she spent her days traveling the car, and with electronic transports.
Naturally, she had become drowsy.
A loud noise came, too loud as if it was coming from behind her. Or her. 'Don't tell me that I am hungry!' She asked aloud. Another noise came. 'Yes, I am,' she mused with a sigh, as her lips curled into the smallest smile that one could bear not to notice if not careful.
'Let's check out if there is a small restaurant or even a shop for food to eat,' she hummed to herself. Now, she was regretting not accepting the invitation that Alice-sama had given her. She should have accepted the flight tickets and joined the family on their trip to Italy. After all, she was a part of the Nakiri family. They had said, everyone had said, and treated her with a serene smile.
The lights became brighter, and her snow-covered pavement had been replaced with a cobblestone pavement. The streets couldn't be cleaner, she noticed. There was not single garbage or a plastic
The shops were narrow, simultaneous, but beautiful. They were small, cleaned, and the lights were on, but there was no one, and the shop was not closed.
This left her in a state of shock as the same happened in almost all of the shops that were nucleated near the streets. They were clean, small, beautiful but disclosed. As though the shopkeepers cared not about their belongings.
The lights dimmed as she wandered more on the marketplace and the streets. She even thought about leaving some money and taking some food, but it was not the right thing to do. It was not what she had been taught.
She arrived almost at the end of the streets, as the eternal darkness started engulfing the buildings that were not on the streets. It was as if a small vanilla scoop fell over the ice cream of dark chocolate.
Albeit, there was one shop or diner that had been lit as the bride on her wedding. 'Yukihira's' it read. In big, black kanji letters were posted across the red banner. The sweet aroma invaded her nostrils and she was unnaturally drawn towards the aroma.
Tasted she had a million dishes, yet there was something to this fragrance that drew her towards it. It was almost as if she was the moon, and the sea tides were the fragrance. And both of them were making tidal waves
She touched the woody frame of the shop. The oak work even on the door was fantastic, and couldn't be done better, she knew it and appreciated it.
Her hand wavered a little as she applied a little force to it, too little for it to move. And with that next push, the door was hustled open with a loud snap.
And somehow, Hisako Arato knew that her wish had finally come true.
A/N: And we are done with this Prologue. I always liked short Prologues and bigger and more fulfilling chapters, and that is what I would follow. The length of the chapters may vary, and I determined to complete it like any other fic that I started.
This is my first contribution to the Shokugeki No Souma fandom, but I was confused whether I should post this or not. It will solely follow Romance and Drama between Hisako and Soma. This is highly AU-based fanfic, so if you think it would follow Cannon, please be aware.
But for some details- Souma didn't go to Totsuki, and the Nakiri family is better than in Canon. The characters too would be OC's a little, and some would say Hisako was bolder, not a shy lass, then this chapter was based on the musings of a teenage girl. I'll tell the ages and information with the coming chapters.
So, please do Favorite, Follow, and Review.
Thank You.
