As soon as Hikaru and Elsa were transported out of library through the portal that Valtos made, they were immediately in completely different area somewhere near the mansion. Hikaru with his quick reflexes, jumped away from Elsa, with her doing the same as they both gained some distance from each other.

'Was this their plan the entire time?' thought Hikaru as Elsa started to speak.

"Now that we are all the way out here... we can continue our duel without any interruptions, I really want you entertain me more and have your bowels all for myself~" said Elsa seductively as she had a mad blush on her face and licked her lips, sending chills down Hikaru's spine.

'I-Is she getting turned on by the thought of fighting me...? Well everyone has a kink I guess.' thought Hikaru as he gripped his katana.

"Yeah well that's too bad, because I have to hurry up and defeat you so I can get back to Subaru as soon as possible!" said Hikaru as he charged at Elsa.

"Entertain me more, Hikaru Takahashi!" exclaimed Elsa as she also charged straight towards Hikaru, their blades clashed once more with both ends never wavering. Hikaru jumped back and sent flame based slashes towards Elsa, only for her to backflip out of the way and dodge more of the coming slashes by using the trees in the area. Hikaru's blade was quickly covered in flames as he landed on a tree and pushed off of it to give him more momentum as he charged towards Elsa, with her doing the same.

They clashed their blades in mid air as Hikaru pushed her back and sent her flying towards thr ground, he took this chance to use a fire based spell.

"Fire Magic: Spiral Flame!" shouted Hikaru as he generated flames from the palms of both his hands and aimed them at Elsa. The flames came out in a spiraling motion, which created a tornado-shaped blast of flames. As soon as it made contact with Elsa, a huge explosion occurred as he landed back on the ground. As the smoke cleared, he could he a burnt body that obviously belonged to Elsa, as well as the entire area decimated.

"Ok now I can take this chance to make it to Subaru." said Hikaru as he was about to make a run for it but sensed an attack charging towards him. Thanks to his ki he was able to dodge the attack, when he turned around he widened his eyes in shock, Elsa was standing acting as if she wasn't just burned to a crisp.

"How the hell...?" Hikaru couldn't even finish his sentence as he was to shocked to even say anything.

"Ara ara, those flames were hot I can give you that much, I hope you have more attacks in your arsenal~"

"You know, the flame's intensity of that attack is enough to incinerate completely anything in it's path, yet you're still standing as if you weren't just burned to death, is it some kind of ability of yours?" said Hikaru as he narrowed his eyes.

"I'm sorry but even I need to keep my secrets. I can't have you knowing all of them now can I?"

'Is it some kind of curse or something?' thought Hikaru as he couldn't figure out how Elsa survived his attack. Hikaru decided to use another magic attack at Elsa but before he had the chance to even say the spell's name, he sensed an attack coming towards him so he sidestepped the attack as he turned towards his attacker.

"You really don't know when to quit, Valtos."

Valtos just ignored Hikaru as he turned to Elsa.

"You go on ahead women, I'll deal with the boy."

Though she was reluctant to go since she was just having fun with her battle, Elsa agreed and went on ahead after Subaru and Beatrice. Hikaru already knew what they were planning, Valtos was going to stall Hikaru long enough for Elsa to go towards Subaru and Beatrice, in other words she was going to try and kill them and finish the job while Valtos fought Hikaru in Elsa's place.

"Wait-!" Hikaru was quickly cut off as he dodged another magic bullet from Valtos.

"I'm your opponent!"

'Shit! Subaru, I just hang on a bit longer.' thought Hikaru as he charged towards Valtos, intent on finishing the fight as quick as possible so he could regroup with Subaru and Beatrice.

"Damn it!" yelled Subaru as he charges toward Elsa as he clashed his blade with hers. Elsa was able to push Subaru's blade off of her before attempting to disembowel him. Luckily, Beatrice was able to provide the boy cover. Subaru appreciated this as he charged in with his Demon Slayer Sword towards Elsa at full speed. He gripped the handle with both hands and in a blink of an eye he was right in front of her, catching the gut loving sadist off guard. He quickly coated his arms in Anti Magic which allowed the Demon slayer Sword to become pitch black as it was coated and had more Anti Magic then it did before.

'All I have to do is dash forward and inflict damage!' thought Subaru as he got close enough to Elsa, he slashed her from the right. Upon contact a black slash flew out of the sword as Elsa was sent flying.

Once she came to a halt and crashed into a tree, she realized something as she looked down, she widened her eyes in shock.

'W-What...?!'

You see the reason why Elsa was able to survive Hikaru's flame based attack that could incinerate anything in it's path was because of Elsa's curse called "Cursed Doll". With this ability, she was able to survive being incinerated to death by Hikaru. But now it wasn't working.

'That boy is different from the last time we crossed paths... it must have something to do with him.' thought Elsa as she struggled to get back up. Seeing Elsa wouldn't be getting up so soon, he turned his attention towards Beatrice, as he walked up to her she spoke.

"You handled that quite well, I suppose."

"She won't be like that for long, so lets hurry up and get rid of these Mabeast so we can regroup with Hikaru." said Subaru as Beatrice nodded. Meili, although she had a calm expression on her face was freaking out on the inside, she didn't expect Subaru to handle Elsa so quickly and now all she had were a bunch of Mabeast backing her up. If they took out the Mabeast just as quickly then she would be screwed, so screwed.

"D-Don't just stand there, attack!" shouted Meili as the wolf-like Mabeast charged at the duo. Beatrice was about to use her magic on them but Subaru beat her to it by charging straight in. If he could handle Elsa, then he could handle these. An Wolgarm jumped into the air to bite Subaru but he quickly reacted by slicing the beast in half.

'As long as I concentrate and read their ki, their movements are super easy to read!' thought Subaru as he sensed another Wolgram charging from the behind. As the Wolgram jumped into the air, Subaru quickly turned around and with the flat side of his sword and smacked the Wolgram on the side of head, quickly killing it as it went flying towards a tree. Whenever a Mabeast would get near Subaru, it would just end up with them being cut in half or having their head smashed in.

As Subaru was done with the last Wolgram, he sensed bloodlust, quickly turning towards Beatrice, he saw Elsa right behind her as she intended on disemboweling her.

"Crap, Beatrice look out!"

Beatrice quickly lifted her hand in the air as a pink glow appeared which caught Elsa by surprise as she quickly backflipped away from Beatrice, effectively dodging the purple spears that were lodged into a near by tree and broke the said tree in half.

"If you think shadow magic can't be used offensively, you're very naïve."

"Another surprise. I had no surprise you could do that. How lovely. said Elsa as she readied her blade.

"Minya." chanted Beatrice as purple crystals appeared above her.

All of the purple icicles got thrown in unison directly at Elsa, forcing the Bowel hunter to give it her all in deflecting each and every icicle.

"One look at an attack like this is enough to-"

Elsa paused herself as she felt something off, causing her to gain some distance from Beatrice to check on her hand. She looks and notices that her hand is covered in some sort of purple ice that is rapidly increasing by the second.

"Well, this was a mistake on my part."

"I'm much older than you. Now fall apart where you stand, I suppose!"

Beatrice closed her hand and began to send more purple icicles directly at Elsa, creating an explosion of purple mist around the Bowel hunter. As purple mist begins to clear, they see Elsa's body with her head and both of her arms gone. Subaru and Beatrice had their guards lowered when they saw that the frozen dead Elsa's corpse begins to fall to the ground and break into many pieces.

"Aw, I guess Elsa really was a fool."

"It's your turn next." said Beatrice as she turned towards Meili.

"Wha-" was all Subaru could say as he saw Beatrice raise her hand in the air, as if she was going to kill Meili on sight. So he quickly reacted and grabbed onto her arm before she could do anything. Subaru hated them yeah but Meili is just a kid and he's against killing or hurting kids.

"H-Hang on! She's just a child!"

"Child or not, an enemy is an enemy, I suppose."

"But... we should get her to tell us who sent her."

"Sorry, not happening. I'll get in trouble. Not a word out of me."

"...But I don't want to see you kill a kid!" said Subaru, only to have Beatrice forcefully remove her hand from him as she started talking.

"You're still talking like that-!" Beatrice suddenly gasped as she pushed Subaru away from her.

When Subaru looked up, his eyes widened in horror. Elsa had stabbed Beatrice.

"...!"

"Oh, what a strange feeling. So spirits really are different from the rest of us on the inside." said Elsa as she began to cut downward, further damaging Beatrice as her mana started to leave her body.

"Now I... can finally..."

Elsa released Beatrice as she slowly fell in Subaru's arms as he laid her down and tried everything in his power to stop the mana from leaving her body. But it was all in vain as she started to disintegrate.

"Elsa!" screamed Subaru as he quickly turned towards Elsa, only for her to knock him on the side of the head with the handle of her blade. Once Subaru made contact with the ground, his head started bleeding as he looked at Elsa.

'Is this as far as I go this time?'

"I don't like the look in your eyes." said Elsa emotionlessly as she cut Subaru in the eye, which in turn made him scream and roll on the ground in pain.

"Gosh, Elsa, you're so cruel. Don't you pity him?"

"It's the spirit that I pity. Imagine being sacrificed for a boy like him."

As this was going on Subaru could hear a very familiar, yet ominous voice speak to him.

'Kill.'

'W-What...?'

'Kill.'

I-I don't-'

'You're not a human anymore, you're a devil now. And what's a mere human compared to a devil?'

'I get that but...'

'It's simple really, just kill them right now and your problem will be gone, or you die again and start a new loop. Think about all the fail loops where she killed you and everyone else, and now that little spirit girl is dying because of her, doesn't that make you angry? Doesn't it make your blood boil?'

'...Yeah... it does...'

'Then don't just stand there, KILL THEM!'

'I...'

'KILL...'

'THEM!'

With that last thought, Subaru slowly got up with his one eye open glaring at the two in front of him. Elsa seeing Subaru was completely different, suddenly got serious and told Meli to stand back. Although the little girl was confused, she complied.

"The solution was really simple you know...?" said Subaru as his anti magic started to appear and swirl around him violently. His one good eye turned red with his pupil replaced as a slit. As he got into the same stance he did before, his anti magic started to surround his track suit jacket, turning it pitch black along with gaining a collar that's edges fall over his shoulders and the back of his track suit was extended to the back of his ankles like a trench coat, along with the jacket, his forearms were covered with anti-magic that crawled further up his arms like tendrils. As his arms were completely covered in anti magic the fingers on his hands became pointy and sharp that took on an appearance as claws. And as a final touch he grew two small pitch black horns as well as his tail turning pitch black.

"I was saving this one for another time when I really needed it but... I'm to pissed off to care at this point...!" said Subaru as his anti magic started to get more out of control due to his rage.

Elsa for the first time in a while felt fear from this sudden development, this boy was wiping out the mana in the atmosphere and his presence felt demonic and ominous. Not even 'Mama' could make her feel something like this. She was truly looking at... the devil.

"Elsa Granheirt... I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"

Valtos was on the ground as he looked at Hikaru pointing his katana in front of him. He knew he was outmatched the moment he fought him, he never stood a chance. But even so, he was able to buy enough time for Elsa to finish the job or so he thought.

Hikaru was about to finish the corpse looking man off but was stopped mid-swing when he sensed Beatrice's mana and an ominous pressure.

'Wait a second...this mana... oh no Beatrice! A-And this pressure... could it be...Subaru...?' thought Hikaru as he pushed those thoughts away and turned his attention back to Valtos. He needed to hurry up.

But when he turned around, Valtos was gone.

"Shit!" cursed Hikaru before he quickly made his way to Subaru and Beatrice's location hoping it wasn't to late.

Elsa was sent crashing into the ground once again. Far off into the distance was Meili, watching the whole fight with an expression of fear on her face, Elsa should've been able to heal from her injuries with no effort due to "Cursed Doll" but for some reason she wasn't. Elsa struggled to get up due to the many hits she took from the boy that was now in a flying rage, it was clear to both of them that Subaru wasn't fighting them anymore, he was trying to KILL them.

When Elsa looked at him, she could see a black humanoid figure looking down at her with a wicked smile on it's face, almost as if it was laughing at her misery. Subaru once again blitzed towards Elsa and kicked her in the face, sending her flying towards multiple trees, when Subaru landed on the ground he was going to walk towards Elsa but Before he could walk towards the brutally damaged Elsa and finish her off.

A glowing light surrounded the boy, causing him to disappear from the scene as also allowing him to snap out of his fit of rage. As he was disappearing, all he could see was a little girl that had half of her body disintegrated, someone he cared about giving him a before his vision was blinded by light.

Once Hikaru made it to Subaru and Beatrice's location, his eyes widened in shock at the sight before him. The place looked like a blood bath! He saw a barely alive Elsa, a very scared Meili, and a disintegrating Beatrice that almost looked like her time was up. Hikaru quickly flew towards the injured spirit as he called out to her.

"Beatrice!"

When she heard her name being called out she turned towards the voice to see that it was Hikaru who called to her. She had a sad smile on her face as she started to speak.

"You...finally...made it, in...fact. It took you...long enough, I suppose."

"I-I'm sorry it took me so long to get here Beatrice..." Hikaru couldn't say anything as he just grabbed the spirit's hand and pressed it against his forehead as tears threatened to leave his eyes.

" The boy... is at the sanctuary, I...suppose. Hurry up and go, in fact." said Beatrice as she looked up at the sky.

"W-What...?"

"I...failed to complete mother's wishes, in fact... I'm sorry... mother." said Beatrice as she had a look on her face, almost as if she was happy that she was dying and accepted her fate. Beatrice was completely gone, there was nothing left of her.

With tears rolling down his face, he got up and turned his attention towards the barely alive Elsa as he pointed his katana that was lit up in flames towards her, and sent off a blast that completely incinerated her.

Elsa was dead.

With Elsa out of the way and Beatrice avenged, he flew towards the sanctuary in order to reunite with Subaru.

Subaru woke up in a room he did not recognize he tore off a piece of his jacket and wrapped it around his injured eye and ran out...only to see the entire Sanctuary covered in snow.

"No...NO!"

Subaru began running around in his terrible condition, but soon ran into Garfiel who dragged him to the Tomb in a rage.

"Go, get the half-devil...NOW!"

"What?"

"Ever since ya' two left she's been there doin' the Trials! And now look around! Tha' whole stinkin' place is covered in snow!"

"Emilia..."

"Bring her out now!"

Subaru made his way into the Tomb and found Emilia who was smiling happily at him.

"Ah! Subaru you came back! I'm so relieved...I was worried you were mad at me. But you're back! I'm so happy! And look I've been taking the Trials like you wanted. I bet you're proud of me now!"

"I can see you've been doing something crazy as usual, but that's what make you a good person. You're always doing things for everyone huh? ...Well, I want you to do things only for me now. Only me. I know it's selfish to say, but now I realize something...Subaru...I finally realized it..."

"I love you Subaru."

...?!

"I love you and I want to be with you every moment. I want to hold your hand and let you hold mine. I want to touch you and hear from you. I'm sorry I took so long to realzie it...but I'm ready Subaru. Whatever you want...I will want."

"...Okay, let me go and check something really quick okay Emilia?"

"Sure! But don't take too long or I might even cry!"

Subaru left, but he looked one last time to see Emilia smiling at him...with eyes devoid of sanity.

He knew that someone most likely pushed Emilia to the point that she needed to rely on Subaru. There was no way she would say that to Subaru and he knew this.

Subaru confronted Garfiel, revealing to him that Emilia was now mind broken by the Trials and that she couldn't possibly be responsible for the snow falling.

"Then who?!"

"Roswaal."

As soon as he said that, Garfiel let go of Subaru.

"Getting an answer out of him is the last goal I need to reach in this world."

"Well, Well. Whaaaaaat an unusual pair you two make."

In front of the angry pair was the bandaged clown, Roswaal with Rem and Ram standing near his bed. Although Rem immediately ran towards Subaru as she saw his injuries.

"Subaru-kun! What happened to you?!" said Rem as she touched his cheeks in a caring and affectionate way.

"Don't worry, your Rem is here!"

Subaru simply smiled and reassured Rem that he was fine, and turned towards Roswaal with a serious look on his face.

"You're the one making it snow in the Sanctuary, aren't you, Roswaal?"

Roswaal's smile went away within the second Subaru finished asking his question.

"Subaru-kun, did you hear that from me?"

Subaru stood silent as he noticed the question Roswaal asked, making him a bit confused yet he didn't want the magician to know that. Roswaal can tell that he is getting no response, making him understand the problem of asking that question.

"Hmm...I see."

"Ya not gonna deny it?!"

"I could feign ignorance, but you two clearly have some grounds for asking me this, so I suppose I shall respect that."

"Ha! Thanks a whole damn lot, dumbass! Maybe I oughta show a little respect for your stupidity, too!"

Ram noticed that Garfiel was attempting to harm Roswaal, causing her to get in between the two.

"I will not allow you to insult Roswaal-sama."

"This is no time for you to butt in!"

"It's you who needs to back off, Garf!"

"I don't wanna have to take this out on you."

"Nee-sama, maybe we should..."

"Rem, with all due respect, please stay out of this."

"..."

The two stared at each other for a few seconds with determination before all of a sudden they felt something going through their chest, with Subaru in complete shock by this, and Rem staring in despair at what she saw.

"Ram...You truly are an excellent servant."

Garfiel's mouth started to fill up with blood before he coughed, with some pieces of blood hit on Ram's face before he fell to the ground. As his back hits the ground, he grabs his chest in pain, bleeding out. Roswaal approaches Ram's ear to tell her,

"I am a man of my word. I shall offer this soul to you."

As Roswaal finishes speaking, he pulls his hand out of Ram's chest to see her fall to the ground with a smile forming.

Rem, in a fit of rage charged at Roswaal, the man whom she trusted, the man that saved them all those years ago when the Witch cult attacked their village, the man that had just killed her dear sister in cold blood. But Roswaal saw this coming as he decapitated Rem's head from her body with us bare hand.

Subaru felt time stop for a second as he witnessed this. Rem was just murdered by Roswaal, he glared in anger at the clown with his anti magic flaring up and charged at him but Roswaal quickly punched him in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him as he fell to the floor in pain

Now Subaru may have been durable enough to tank hits from Roswaal, he was fit in all categories after all but due to his current state and injuries as well as his exhaustion from using that form earlier against Elsa, he was pretty much easy to take down at this point.

Meanwhile Garfiel tried everything in his power to heal Ram. Only for Roswaal to not hesitate in kicking Garfiel's head hard enough to destroy it, effectively killing him.

"I cannot have you transforming here. Now, in accordance with my vow, shall we talk, Natsuki Subaru-kun?"

"You...Why did you kill them?!"

"They were interfering with our discussion. It was an awful thing to do to Ram, but had I not created an opening, I had little chance of defeating him."

"You son of a-" Subaru tried to attack Roswaal only to easily be injured by a few attacks.

"You should stop that, you are not going to beat me."

'We'll see about that when I'm at full health again!'

"You bastard! There's no way I'm gonna..."

"Let me get away with this?"

"Huh? Stop...Stop looking at me like that! Who the hell you are?! You killed them, you said all that about the Witch's cult...I have to deal with this crap over and over!"

"Over and over. Yes, over and over, Subaru-kun."

"Tsk."

Roswaal smiles and notices the rage and anger in Subaru's eyes, making him realize that he needs to get his gospel in order for the conversation to continue without the need of violence. He heads to grab it while saying, "Very well. Since you do not understand, this might explain it for you."

Roswaal pulls out a gospel which catches Subaru's attention.

"You have one too?!"

"Ah, I guess I don't have to explain it to you who has the other one or what it does. After all, you've managed to redo this world multiple times."

"Wait...you knew?!"

Subaru looked at the gospel with disappointment since he knows that Beatrice most likely has been killed while also surprised that Roswaal knows he can reset time. Roswaal looked at Subaru's facial expression to come to the conclusion that Beatrice is dead.

"Judging from your expression, I assume Beatrice succeeded in fulfilling her dearest wish to disappear?"

"Her dearest wish? Dying...Dying is her dearest wish?! Is that what you're saying?!"

"That is what she wanted. I envy her. It would seem that I am incapable of fulfilling my dearest wish."

"What is it you want to do? Why are you like this?!"

"I cannot say. I have made a vow of my own. I will, however, say this. I am constantly doing my utmost to fulfill my dearest wish. All of my schemes, my inhumanity, and the assistance and backing I offer are for that purpose."

"You're following that book, too? Is this snow in the book too, then?! Did it tell you to make snow fall?! Why?!"

"Why else? To isolate Emilia-sama."

"H-Huh?"

"An unseasonal snowstorm where she happens to be, in a place with a deep connection to the witch. Garfiel would condemn her, and the villagers have experience with cold spells. Emilia-sama would then be isolated and become emotionally unstable.

"Are you..."

And you could never distance yourself from her if she were to lean on you.

"So that's why you did that to my letter?"

Subaru sent a letter to Emilia before he and Hikaru left. Explaining to her the reason why they left. It made perfect sense now why Emilia hadn't known and why she was like the way she is now.

"Letter? In any case, your current self cannot bring about the future indicated in the text. If there's a discrepancy, it must be corrected."

Roswaal started to approach Subaru in a threatening manner which caused Subaru to coat his arms in anti magic ready for a fight he knew that in his current exhausted, injured, and battered state he wouldn't last long but he still needed to defend himself, questioning whether the magician was going to kill him. Roswaal responded that he wasn't going to kill Subaru but make him redo everything.

Subaru suddenly charged towards Roswaal and went with a right hook which Roswaal simply responded with ducking under Subaru and uppercutting Subaru. He then punched him in the stomach and chopped him on the back of his neck to bring him down to his knees. From that point on Roswaal, kicked him and beat him up until he had enough.

Subaru had experience with the sword and hand to hand combat thanks to his training with Hikaru but not on Roswaal's level...yet

"Even after all of this, you have no mind to start over?"

"Roswaal...You're talking about starting over, but planning what you do to someone based on assumption that they'll just start over is insane." said Subaru as he looked up at Roswaal.

Roswaal suddenly smiled as he looked down at Subaru. He then quickly grabbed Subaru and they made it outside by leaping out the window.

There, he simply dropped Subaru on the ground as he faced ahead. He could see the Sizeable Hare finally arriving.

"But...we still had-"

"-Oh, yes yoooooou still had at least another day...buuuuut you were asleep for a whole day now...What a shaaaaame right?"

Subaru began to back away as Roswaal launched some fireballs at the approaching monstrosity. But stopped suddenly.

"Natsuki Subaru, if you focus on your goal, even at the expense of others...you will become like me."

"So try not to make a mistake again will you?"

The Sizeable Hare launched themselves at Roswaal and devoured him.

"ROSWAAL!"

Subaru ran for his life as he tried to make it back to Emilia.

Subaru kept moving as he finally made it to the Tomb, but he felt his injuries catching up with him.

His regret for allowing Ram and Garfiel to die, Roswaal's words and grisly death, the tragedy in the loss of Petra and Frederica, his sense of powerlessness for failing to save Beatrice, all overwhelmed Subaru. Pain, and even the terror of death, didn't matter a damn any more.

All he simply wanted was to vanish from this world.

Subaru's indolent, selfish wish would come true. The world begins to cloud, his consciousness and soul gradually growing distant from this place.

Strength leaves his limbs, sensation disappears from his near-wholly departed flesh. What stays there, stays behind there, unaware of Subaru's departure, is only Emilia.

Emilia found him and put his head on her lap she quietly brushed his head.

"I have fun fiddling around with like, your hair, or your face, though..."

"..."

"Are you listening, Subaru? I want to talk and hear about so many, so many, sooo many things. Please, come on. Be with me, hear my voice. Say something, please?"

Emilia slightly smiled as she got her face closer...

"Subaru-"

On his silent lips, she kissed him.

Natsuki Subaru's first kiss tasted of cold DEATH...
