Angel: I know that it's the afternoon, but I just got back from work...and the rest of the week for me is crazy. I'm working five days, with three days having long hours...
*takes a deep breath* UGGGGGGGHHHHH... DX ...Well, at least I get a fat-ass paycheck XDD
The Wachowski family look around, Maddie gasping as a drone was right behind her. Tom holds her gently and grabs Sophia's gloved hand, pulling her backwards. Sonic steps back a few feet and then stops at the edge of the roof. He glances below him and sees the long fall. Then a flying aircraft appears, and it hovers over to them. The cockpit opens to reveal Robotnik himself, who's in an entirely different outfit consisting of a red jacket and goggles over his face. He gives them an evil smirk.
"Welcome to San Francisco, Mr. Wachowski. Are you enjoying the clam chowder?"
"It's the government whack job who keeps trying to kill us," Tom tells Maddie, turning to Robotnik. "Unsuccessfully!"
Robotnik scowls at him and then sees Sophia, his smirk getting wider.
"Ah...Enjoying my little present? I'm surprised you haven't caught on sooner, Sophia."
She furrows her eyebrows in thought. She didn't really show any signs of changing until after the car chase...she fell unconscious after the harpoon hit her and then she started getting headaches after that. Her eyes widen in horror and realization. "Wait...that harpoon with whatever that stuff it was! All those headaches and shrinking and stuff! You did this to me?!" Sophia accuses him.
"Change her back!" Tom growls out at the man. "And it's nice of you to swing by on your way to Comic-Con to reveal that to us."
"Yeah, what are you wearing?" Maddie asks curiously.
He looks at his suit and then back to the others. "It's a flight suit, designed to modulate my body temperature and reduce drag!" He clenches his teeth through the last word.
"Yeah, and you still are one," Tom comments with a nod.
"1991 called, they wanna win their copyright lawsuit from you," Sophia calls out, earning a laugh from Sonic.
"Oh-hoo! Good ones," Robotnik mocks their jokes. "You are catching fire, Thomas and Sophia. Oh, how sweet of the father-daughter duo." The two just glare at him in response. "Oh, and speaking of heat, I see you've taken a lover. Does she have a name, or should we just call her collateral damage?" He chuckles and then drums the side of his Eggpod with glee.
"Hey, watch your mouth!" Tom warns him. "Unless you want a little more from me and Soph of what we gave you earlier." He leans in towards Maddie. "I punched him in the face and then Sophia knocked him out with a frying pan."
"They did!" Sonic adds in with a smile. "It was awesome!"
"Yeah, and I'd gladly do it again," Sophia smirks, brushing her nose a bit with her hand in a gloating way.
"The time for talking is over!" Robotnik states angrily at the reminder. "It's time to push buttons!"
"Your flying eggs are impressive, Mr. Eggman, but let's face it, you'll never catch me!" Sonic brags to him.
"Confidence! A fool's substitute for intelligence."
"Says the one who keeps chasing after us and thinks that he'll win," Sophia glares at him as she steps forward, clenching her fists.
Robotnik lifts up a capsule, which has a button that controls the energy from Sonic's quill that's powering his entire ship. The flying drones ready their weapons, pointing them at the four.
"That's not good," Sonic states in worry as they look around.
"Uhh, Sonic?" Tom speaks up. "I know you got the super speed and everything, and Sophia...I don't know how it works with her right now, but Maddie and I-"
"Totally defenseless? Probably gonna get blow up?" Sonic asks knowingly.
"Pretty much, yeah," Maddie answers the hedgehog.
"I have no clue if I even do anything," Sophia murmurs to Sonic.
"Don't worry. I know exactly what to do," Sonic assures them, and that makes the pink hedgehog a bit nervous since he said the same thing at the bar. Sonic jumps over towards the side wall, jumps forward from behind, and pushes the three off of the roof. The three scream in unison as they fall. Robotnik looks over the edge of his ship in shock.
"I was not expecting that...but I was expecting not to expect something, so it doesn't count."
The flying drones fire at Sonic, but time stops once again. He smirks as the three are now slowly falling. Sophia has her hand reached out to them as she was the last one to fall. Sonic looks at his wrist, tapping his foot. He then looks at the missiles and pushes some away. Robotnik is this close to pressing the button. Sonic grabs two missiles, using them as drumsticks against a couple in front of them. He then jumps forward, spinning around and destroying several drones. He grabs two missiles and slides, placing them in a drone so that it explodes. Robotnik's finger lightly presses the button, activating the power of the quill. It gives the Eggpod the ability of superspeed.
Sonic runs up to two drones and pushes them away. He shoots at them with his hands while Robotnik comes in. He prepares a laser and the hedgehog looks at him wide-eyed. He gasps and runs off, barely being able to escape the blast. He loses his eyesight briefly and then snaps out of it as he sees Sophia, Tom, and Maddie still falling and they're nearing the street! He tries to reach for a ring, barely being able to touch it.
"Come on!" He tries swimming in mid-air. "Come on, come on, come on!"
He plucks out of his quills and grabs the ring with it. He runs down the side of the building and then thinks of Green Hills. He tosses it behind the three and it opens a portal to a barn. They fall through it and into a barn.
Sonic loses control of his speed. "Whoa, whoa, whoa! No, no, no!" He falls through a tree and into some branches before landing on the ground. Rubble and his rings fall around him and he rubs his head. He then sighs in relief.
"She's safe from him..." He murmurs to himself, thinking about Sophia.
At the barn, the farmer who runs it seeks Tom and Maddie laying down on a pile of hay. "Oh! Hi, Tom," He greets while Sophia is nowhere to be seen. "Glad you're here. Could use some help. Old Bessie's about to give birth!"
A cow moos and Tom catches his breath. "Give me a minute..."
Sophia pops out of the hay, looking around in worry.
"Oh no. We gotta go back for Sonic!"
And then to their shock, she speeds off at the same speed as Sonic. She blinks and looks down at her running feet in disbelief.
"What?!" She skids to a stop and heads for a tree, yelping in fear. The two immediately stand up as she crashes into it, smoke appearing.
"Sophia!"
They rush over to her and stop in front of the smoke cloud, the two staring up ahead in worry. Sophia steps out of it perfectly fine a few seconds later, looking at her arms as she sees no bruising. Because she inherited Sonic's species through the quill, she has also gained super speed along with a few more things, such as endurability.
"Not even a scratch..."
"So...you're like Sonic now?" Maddie asks after getting out of her stupor.
"I don't know about that. He definitely can take a punch while I just crashed through that tree without so much as a concussion," Sophia jerks a thumb behind her. The tree she crashed into suddenly falls as her crash was enough to make it fall. She flinches as it crashes into some power lines, the three staring up ahead.
"Whoops..."
Sonic recovers from the fall, looking up and seeing Robotnik hover nearby. "Can I give you one genius piece of advice? Don't run. It'll only hurt more if you do. And it's bad for your joints, they proved it."
"All right, Eggman," Sonic glares up at him. "You wanna get fast? Let's get fast!" He runs around quickly to gather up all of his rings and then speeds off.
Robotnik puts on his goggles. "The hard way it is," The cockpit closes and Robotnik chases after the hedgehog. Sonic runs and jumps over cars, looking over his shoulder. Robotnik starts firing lasers at him, damaging roads. Sonic turns left and looks back to see Robotnik close behind. He speeds to the left again and Robotnik jerks his Eggpod around to catch up.
"Oh! That was an illegal left, by the way!"
Sonic jumps and flips, everything coming to a stop.
So, here we are again! We've been through so much together! Now you understand why there's a psychotic robot doctor chasing a supersonic blue hedgehog. Wanna know how it ends? Yeah, me too.
The chase continues as Sonic dodges the lasers from Robotnik, zipping around the streets. Robotnik aims for the blue blur. Cars get unfortunately blown up in the skirmish and Sonic jumps up, running along the edge of a building. He jumps up into the sky and spins around, sliding down a wall. He looks up ahead and sees a trailer that has the Eiffel Tower on it. He slides underneath the trailer to avoid the next laser coming his way.
"How is this possible?" Sonic asks himself while jumping on a car. "No one's ever caught up to me before!" He takes a ring and plans where he wants to go.
In Paris, a mime is standing in front of a girl and her mother, both of them looking bored. The mime makes a circle movement with his hands and the ring portal just happens to sync up with it as it appears. The girl opens her mouth in awe and Sonic runs up to the portal.
"Coming through!" He calls out, zipping past them.
"Sacre bleu!" The mime runs out of the way as the Eggpod flies through.
"Excusez-moi, monsieur!" Robotnik calls out with a small chuckle.
They end up in China, at the Great Wall as Sonic emerges from the portal and runs onto the wall. Robotnik flies after him, of course, thanks to the energy of the quill that Sonic is unaware that he has.
"Here we go! Room to open it up!" Sonic smirks a bit, increasing speed and Robotnik follows suit. The hedgehog runs onto the side and then jumps to the other. He goes back on the path and tosses a ring. "I can't lose him!"
Robotnik fires multiple times at him, causing him to stumble while running. He braces himself as Robotnik destroys several monuments, resulting in explosions behind him. Up ahead is the Pyramid of Giza and Sonic swerves to avoid another laser. After avoiding several more lasers, the hedgehog skids to a stop on the sand.
"If you can't beat 'em, blind 'em," He smirks knowingly and then heads for the pyramid. He speeds up in a circle to catch Robotnik in a whirlwind of sand.
"Lost...visual contact!"
While he's spinning around, he manages to notice Sonic running up the pyramid. "You're not allowed up there! It's one of the Seven Wonders!" He blasts his ship out of the sand and prepares his weapon as Sonic throws another ring. He's just about to go through it when he manages to get a hit on Sonic. He sends the hedgehog flying and the ring portal opens up in Green Hills. Everyone stops what they're doing as Sonic lands roughly, motionless while his ring bag slides to a stop.
Robotnik emerges out of the ring portal, and it closes behind them. Sophia speeds to a stop, stumbling a bit as she's still getting used to her speed. Her parents and the farmer rush over to join her, Robotnik cackling. Sophia glares at him and then looks to her left, her heart hammering as she sees Sonic unconscious.
"Oh my god, Sonic!" She speeds over to him, bending down and cradling him gently. She checks over him, starting to panic as she felt a weak pause. "No...!" She tears up and hangs her head, quietly sobbing as she holds him.
Angel: I'm not going to give Sophia every single power she's been known to have in the movie universe, I feel like that would get redundant, and she doesn't need all the powers she had in Sophia X.
