Angel: Just in case I get more people asking me this question about whether or not Sophia is still older than Sonic, I...don't know XD I don't know if they're ever gonna explain how Sonic's psychology works, since they already failed to do that in the movie. Like, how was he born in this world? Did he have parents that abandoned him or what? I think he's 14 (the Sonic wiki says 13 to 14, I honestly don't know how old he is).
Technically, since Sophia's a hedgehog now, I don't think her age still matters. But I guess hypothetically since she's shorter, she did age down, I just don't know what age she should be. I mean, (spoilers) she still has her car by the end of the film that is still for her 17-year-old self (btw, she's 17, not 18 since she's still in high school and not graduating at the point where she would have moved out with her family), but she can't really drive it now XD

Robotnik points his weapons at the duo and Sophia hugs Sonic protectively. "You're astonishing little creatures!" Tom glances down and picks up Sonic's dropped ring bag. "It'll be fun to take you both back to the lab for a litany of invasive exploratory procedures. Any last words?"
"Guac..." Sonic manages to say, looking up at Sophia weakly. She gives a look of panic and sadness towards him. "I like that word..."
Sophia bites her lip as she looks up at Robotnik. She doesn't know what she could do with her newfound super speed, and she felt like if she moved, Robotnik would hit her immediately...
Tom uses a ring portal to appear behind Robotnik, jumping onto his ship. "I don't have to tell you how many scientific breakthroughs have been made possible by animal testing. You're being very selfish."
"You're the one who turned an innocent girl into a hedgehog and relentlessly chased after him as well as my dad without remorse," Sophia growls out. "He's not the selfish one, YOU are!"
"You just made yourself a candidate for being my first volunteer," He glares at her, about to fire at her when Tom gets his attention.
"Going my way?"
"What the-" Robotnik is earned with another punch to the face, knocking his glasses off his face. The two start fighting and the Eggpod jerks around. Robotnik eventually grabs Tom by the shirt. "Who the hell do you think you are?!"
Tom breaks free, punching him again and grabbing him, pinning him back. "I'm the Donut Lord, you son of a-"
Robotnik elbows him off and then throws Tom off his ship by jerking the ship. Tom falls onto the ground with a groan.
"Dad!" Sophia cries out in worry, gently getting away from Sonic. Robotnik puts his goggles back on.
"Autopilot, adjust!"
Before Sophia can reach her father, the ship's weapons point at her and she freezes, clenching an angry fist as she stands in front of Sonic. Maddie rushes over to Tom.
"Why? Why would you throw your life away for this...thing?" He points to Sonic and Sophia grits her teeth. "That's why I don't have friends. Next thing you know, you're somebody's best man, they want to have the wedding out of town...like nobody has anything better to do! Anyway, where were we? Oh, yes—you were about to die."
"No!" Sophia shouts in protest before a bullet ricochets off the Eggpod. He looks to see that Wade had fired the gun.
"That's our sheriff you're messing with."
Tom looks up in shock and Sophia smiles in relief upon seeing him. "Wade!"
Crazy Carl, Maeve, Lila, and other citizens join him, standing in front of Tom. "And our Blue Devil." He holds up a chainsaw. "Who, as everyone can see, is a very real creature and not at all invented by me!" Sophia shakes her head, but is relieved that they're brave enough to stand up to Robotnik.
Wade gently pushes away the chainsaw, as it's getting too close to him for his comfort. "Careful. Just—just put it away."
Maddie looks over to Sonic. "Tom?"
He sees Sonic unconscious on the street, the whole Wachowski family stricken with grief upon looking at him. Sophia's ears flatten as she bends down to him, closing her eyes and tears falling over his quills. Sonic wasn't just a friend...he was special to her...and now he'll never know that...
"Sonic..." She whispers in a heartbroken way, her parents feeling upset for her.
"I don't mean to be indelicate here, but someone should get some ice, keep the body fresh," Robotnik speaks up and Sophia glances up at him, narrowing her eyes while still shedding some tears. Tom lowers his head.
"You need to shut up," Sophia hisses, clenching a fist. "You're the one who did this to him, and you're being insensitive! Not to mention a jerk."
"Why should I? He's just a silly little alien. He didn't belong here! And now..." Robotnik leans forward a bit. "Neither do you."
Sophia frowns at the reminder that she's still a hedgehog, lowering her head sadly. Because of her current appearance...she can't live her normal life anymore. She can't fulfill her dream, or go to school, or even stay on Earth because she's a hedgehog and people wouldn't react kindly to her if she tries to do anything normal now...
Tom notices her expression and looks over his shoulder with a glare. "That little blue alien..." Sophia's ear twitches as she looks towards her father as he stands up. "Knew more about being human than you ever will. His name was Sonic, and that pink hedgehog will still be my daughter no matter what she looks like. This was his home, and this is still her home. And he was my friend."
Sophia smiles weakly at him for his words. "Dad..."
Unknown to her, she starts glowing pink.
Sonic opens his eyes upon hearing Tom's last words and the three look over to him. Sophia opens her mouth in shock, stepping back a bit. She then notices her body supercharging like Sonic's, looking over her arms. Robotnik is bewildered as he looks away, Sonic slowly standing up as blue energy emerges from him. He opens his eyes, keeping his glare on Robotnik. Sophia, Maddie, and Tom all smile at him.
"He's all yours, guys," He leads Maddie out of the way. "Everyone get back!" He warns everyone and Sonic looks towards Sophia.
"Sophia..." He holds out his hand and she smiles softly. She slowly steps forward and takes it. The two then look towards Robotnik, holding each other's hands tightly. "I think you have something that belongs to me!"
"And you're gonna give it back, since you abused it," Sophia growls out. Sonic clenches his other fist and takes the energy from his quill in the ship. Half of it goes towards Sophia and turns it pink, and soon, all of the quill's energy is given to them.
"This is our power now, and we're not using it to run away anymore. We're using it to protect...our...friends!"
"And I'm gonna use it to make sure that people like you stay away from my family," Sophia grits her teeth.
Robotnik puts his flight goggles back on, the hedgehogs reflecting in the lenses. He readies the Eggpod's concealed weapons and points them at the two. The laser markers fall onto the two hedgehogs and they kneel down, preparing themselves while still holding hands.
"Ready?"
"With you, always," Sonic smirks at her a bit. Robotnik locks onto them and they look up, waiting for their moment. Robotnik fires and they take off, sliding and running from the projectiles. They slide onto a wall and speed past the ship, hitting it. They jump from wall to wall as they continue this, slamming the ship with their bodies. They increase in speed with each hit until the ship is disabled, sliding back several feet. Robotnik is furious as he looks back at the two.
"Now, you've done it!" He shouts at them.
"You're finished," Sophia tells him.
"Guess what, Eggman? I'm not leaving Earth, YOU are! Donut Lord?"
Tom nods and takes out the bag of rings. He runs over to behind Robotnik, taking a ring and tossing it. The portal opens up to the mushroom planet. Robotnik and the two hedgehogs charge at each other. Sophia lets go of Sonic, confusing him as she feels something rising within her.
"Something's happening! But I think it's good!" She calls out as her hand starts sparking with pink energy. She lifts up into the air while Sonic rolls into a ball. The pink energy increases and Sophia flings her hand. "Chaos Spear!" An arrow made of pink energy as large as herself is flung from her hand, zipping past Sonic. He and the Chaos Spear give a powerful blow to the ship, causing it to break into tiny pieces. Robotnik is sent flying backwards into the portal and it closes. The electricity coming from the both of them eventually goes away and he stands up. Sophia floats back towards the ground, the crowd cheering for them.
Sonic turns to the pink hedgehog. "What was that?!" He asks in excitement, speeding over to her. "I was like 'You're done, Eggman!' and then you just come out of nowhere with the whole 'Chaos Spear'!"
"I don't know! But it must be a new ability I got from you sharing your power with me!" She answers just as excitedly. Sonic grabs her and spins her around happily, causing her to laugh. Tom runs up to the two.
"I told you, you got this."
"Hey, WE got this," Sonic corrects him with a smile. Tom holds up his hand for a high-five. Sonic gasps happily and is so excited that he runs around in a circle. He jumps up and high-fives Tom. Sophia smiles at the two. Tom holds out the ring satchel.
"I think these belong to you."
"Thank you very much," Sonic holds out his hand, but Tom retracts it back.
"No more pushing people off of buildings," He warns the hedgehog.
"You know I can't promise that."
Sophia chuckles, facepalming a little. After their whole adventure, he probably can't promise anything anymore. Tom gives him back the satchel.
"You did pretty good, space hog."
"Thanks, Donut Lord," Sonic smirks, a hand on his hip.
"You're gonna have to explain this 'Donut Lord' thing," Maddie speaks up as she joins them.
"Nope, sorry. That's for me and the little guy. Right?" Sonic nods at him. "We got our own thing, you got your thing with your...sister," A look of realization hits his face.
"Oh my god, my sister," Maddie realizes as well.
"Gotta go fast! Gotta go fast!" Jojo runs around her mother, who is still tied up. "Gotta go fast! Gotta go fast!"
"Jojo, put on my Fitbit...so I can at least get some steps," Rachel calls out almost tiredly; but then again, she hasn't eaten or used the bathroom for hours now...
"Ohh, she's gonna kill you, Dad," Sophia pinches the bridge of her nose.
"We can never go back there."
"...I mean, are we?" Tom and Maddie give each other a look, and Sophia looks between them in confusion. "Cause it kinda feels like we're home right now."
"Really?" She asks him and Sophia decides to speak up.
"Is there something you're not telling me?"
The two turn to her and Tom bends down to the hedgehog. "When Sonic told me that you never wanted to move, your mom and I figured to just ignore the subject for your sake. Because...as much as I wanted to have my dream...I also need to think about my kid first and what she wants."
She blinks in shock and smiles up softly at him. "And you thought that I wasn't going to notice?"
"...Kinda, yeah," He confesses to her and she laughs. "But Soph, you never feel like you have to do anything for my sake. I love you, and I just want you to be happy."
"Thanks, Dad. I've found my place. I want to protect you and Mom and my home with these powers," She reaches out and hugs him and he returns it.
"But you might be like this forever," Maddie points out in concern, earning a shrug as Tom lets go of her.
"I know that's what it looks like now, but…hedgehog or not, this is what I'm meant to do. And besides, as long as you guys are okay with it, I don't need anyone else's approval."
The two smile in support of her decision.
"Not to mention..." He stands up. "I kinda feel like I checked the 'save a life' box off my bucket list. Now all I want to do is spend my life with the people I care about. I wanna check that box."
"Yeah, I like that," Maddie smiles at him and they hug.
"So...you guys are okay if I..." Sonic glances at Sophia and they nod.
"That want for Sophia to be happy applies to you too."
"Hm?" She looks to Sonic as he turns to her nervously.
"Um...Sunshine, no matter what you look like and whether or not you stay like this forever...I love you," He confesses to the pink hedgehog, rubbing his arm. "I have ever since I first knew about you, and...I know it's weird and all, but-"
"Sonic?" She speaks up and he blinks to see her smiling. "I love you too."
"Aww," The crowd behind them say in unison, causing them to look on with embarrassment. Wade gets the hint and disperses the crowd. "Alright, everybody! Nothing to see here. Let's disperse. Just another ordinary day in Green Hills. Carl, I'll take that chain saw. Oh, and," He looks over his shoulder to Sonic. "Just kiss her!"
Sonic leans in and kisses the pink hedgehog softly and she returns it, hugging his neck. He pulls away a few seconds later, the two smiling.
"Come on. Let's go!" The four leave together down the street. "You act like you've never seen a fight between intergalactic space rodents and a robot with a doctorate."
