It has been sometime… I'm sorry for not posting in a long while, real life hit me like a truck, I have been busy with a lot of stuff, some unexpected and other I was totally expecting, yet they still piled up because the unexpected stuff, so I have been this time with very little time to spend in my hobbies, also there is the thing the amount of work make me return to some bad habits I manifest when I'm burned, like not sleeping well, even now as I write this I have 30 minutes of sleep on my body.

I have a word named "Gusteko 3" that's totally blank beside the checkpoints I have to make for the chapter. The rough idea is there, but I wasn't able to fill the gaps. Luckily, it seems I managed to pull off my work load so I should be able to start writing this again, I hope to be able to post a not rushed chapter in 2 weeks, but no promises.

Speaking of rushed, the two first chapters are too rushed to my liking, I think I will rewrite them after I post chapter 3, but it will be a work in parallel to writing new chapters, I don't plan to add new information or change things drastically, only add more detail and fix the pacing a bit, I feel it goes to quick sometimes. So, there is no need to read the other chapters again.

New story! Kind of… You see, since this story will span for several years, I thought that some people wouldn't like the more slice of life stuff I will put in the middle to flesh out interactions and relationships, so all the stuff I consider isn't essential to the plot would be posted in another fic simply called "Re: Gusteko Extras". Naming is not my strong suit, but at least is practical. While you should make sense only reading the main one, I consider that the other one would increment your enjoyment of this one. This is also my answer to Sufferu, while I enjoy when characters suffer and develop as a result, not everything is suffering and I don't enjoy making Subaru be miserable all the time, so Gusteko extras is a way to show the more mundane aspects of the life of Subaru and Elsa, besides other characters that I will be introducing.

Now, there will be a compilation of question I was made in different places, the excitement some people have shown is still vivid in my mind, and I'm excited myself, is just that I wasn't able to write for a time. This questions will help to form an idea of where I want to stir the story.

Will there be sexual stuff/rape if Capella is involved?

No, well yes, but no, I didn't start this to write smut or rape or something of the like, there will be mentions of it, if it happens I'll say it happened and I would leave it there, I don't plan to go into details, as that is a topic I don't want to write.

If Meili is going to pop up later does that mean homeboy Subaru and Elsa end up getting recruited by Capella eventually?

I'll keep my mouth closed on this one, as tempting as it is answering, anyway, it will be a long time to finally have Meili, after all, she hasn't even been born yet! (technically she should be 1-year-old at the time more or less, but this answer lacks the charm (there is none) of my original answer)

It seems like Subaru is being setup to be more of a sort of conman type character who focuses more on lying or using his words to navigate situations considering how he handles the second loop and how SmolElsa comments on how she thinks he is pretending to be a noble.

Or am I way off and Subaru is gonna be fist fighting archbishops by the end of the story?

Unless you go The Sage route, i don't think Subaru would be able to fist fight any archbishops. And since I'm not going the Sage route... yeah that's not happening.

Subaru already uses his words in canon to work his way around problems, specially convincing people to follow his plans. He's got a way with words, he will end up developing this aspect of himself.

While I'm at it mind if ask, how many chapters do you plan on having in this story and to what point do you this ending?

Telling how many chapter this story will have is something hard to say, I would say a lot, since there are a lot of years to cover before we reach canon Arc 1, but most of the early chapters will be spent on Gusteko, defining Gusteko and its culture, and my throwing that hard work to reuse it later. There will be canon deviances yes, but overall it should be the same story, but Subaru's relationships will be different, I think that will be the most constant and notorious thing at first.

If this Subaru that arrived 12 years earlier would meet the cast of arc 1, that will be awkward in age difference or well appearance wise.

It will be awkward, and I have accounted for that, this is not something the characters are going to ignore.

It would be cool if Subaru destroyed Capella's organization with the help of Elsa and got the Lust Witch factor which is useless but gives him immortality and stops him from aging so arc 1 can play similarly. Subaru's high affinity should be very useful in Gusteko because of the abundance of spirts.

You said something that will happen, now, wonder what is the thing you guessed right.

Will Subaru be raising Elsa like a daughter?

I believe their relationship will fluctuate at moments, like the one Subaru and Beako have, sometimes they act like siblings, others like parent and daughter.

Will Subaru ever state that Elsa is his daughter?

Elsa can be mistaken by Subaru's daughter/sister, since black hair is rare (although not as much in Gusteko and Vollachia) and they are traveling together. As if Subaru himself will state Elsa to be his daughter, that would depend on the occasion, but odds are that he will at least try it once and decide based on Elsa's reaction.

Will there be a time skip with an older Subaru?

Eventually yes, writing 12 years sounds hard, no?

Would Subaru look noticeably older (like buffer, taller or have a stubble)? And would Subaru be more mature than he was in original arc 1?

Would Subaru have a good reason to go to Luganica?

I have a reason, is not the best, but also not the worst. (Even after half a month after answering this I feel like I could come out with a better reason, so maybe I will subtly add it on the story)

How are you going to deal with the whole Featherrun fiasco?

I don't know, I'm sorta scared, I only have tid bits of what happened in that event, since I don't know Japanese and I can't find a summary or a transcript on Japanese to machine translate it. I feel like I will have to bullshit master my way on that one.

There were some people who criticized my story and I gave lengthy responses, I appreciate the feedback. I will not post the responses; I prefer that answer to be reflected on my writing rather than this apology? update? note.

If there are more questions after this one and I find that the questions don't spoil too much I may do another one while I write the chapter 3.
