Legendary Heroes of Townsville

(Summary so far: Kat had just found out from an old tape recorder that the heroes of legend really do exist! She's sneaked out of her home and entered the Myth Mountain, where she was trapped in the room with the three statues. By following the prompts of the mysterious computer, she managed to affect the statues. But in what way? We'll find out soon enough on Legendary Heroes of Townsville!)

Chapter 2

"Hey..." A voice called out. "Are you okay?" It asked. Kat was still in an unconscious state from that explosion.

"I don't think she can hear us." A lighter voice said.

Her eyes apparently twitched slightly, and whoever was watching over her was alerted to it. "Girls, she's waking up!" A lower, scratchy voice said.

Kat's eyes opened up ever so slightly and saw only a portion of a person's body. When they opened fully, she was introduced to three small girls that bore a resemblance to the statues. With every conceivable feature; big heads, small bodies, large eyes, and missing most of the features of a regular human. They each wore the same dresses (of different colors) with a black horizontal line and each had a different hairstyle. One was a redhead with a pink dress, long hair down their backside, held up by a red hairclip with a small pink heart. Another was a blonde with pigtails, they wore a light blue dress. The last one had short black hair and wore a green dress. They each also wore the same worried expression on their faces.

"Hi." The blue one said.

"AGH!" Kat backed up slightly. "Stay away! Who are you three!?"

"Who are we? Who are you?" The green one suddenly got agitated by her question. "My name is BUTTERCUP!"

"Hey calm down on the poor girl Buttercup! She was knocked out for like nine minutes and this is how you greet her?" The pink one pushed her out of Kat's way and apologized. "Look... whoever you are, I'm sorry about her; it's just that we hadn't seen the light of day in I don't know how long now. But anyways, my name is Blossom. Leader of this trio."

"Hi! My name is Bubbles!" She said happily holding out her 'hand' to help up Kat.

"As you already know, Ms. Grumpy Grumps is Buttercup. So? What's your name?"

Kat was hesitant to answer. "My... name is... Katrina Melinski. My friends call me Kat. So you three are the Legendary Heroes of Townsville?"

"Legendary heroes? Is that what people call us?" Bubbles asked.

"Finally. People who finally realize our superhero status!" Buttercup said.

"Buttercup!" Blossom shot a glare to her green sister. "Kat? Why do people here call us that?"

"You were thought to be a mere legend and that's what people referred to you all as. When I was given the toy from my teacher, it told me everything."

"The toy? You mean the one I recorded my voice in?" Blossom asked.

"Yeah; why?"

"I remember doing that. The Professor managed to expel the stoning curse for only a short amount of time; while he was working on an antidote, he asked me to quickly record a message so if anyone clicked the back button, they'd hear it. Apparently it's proven that after two weeks we suffer the effects of the curse again."

"What do you mean?"

"In simple terms, in just two weeks we'll be turned into statues again." Buttercup said.

"What!? How are we gonna help it then!?"

"There is one way... but we'll need to get out of here first! Our flying may be a little rusty from not being mobile for so long, but we have to try." Blossom grabbed onto Kat and had her hold on to her back. "Buttercup? If you please."

"Of course dear sister." She jokingly replied. She punched the stone door so hard it created a hole through every other door's layer. "Still..." *Blows on her 'fist' "...got it."

"Bubbles. Break down the rest of them."

"On it!" She rushed over and punched every wall in front of their views. "Done and done!" She let out a small giggle.

"Wow... you three are seriously strong!" Kat exclaimed.

"We get that a lot." The ground started shaking again. "What now!?" Buttercup asked.

Suddenly the entire interior of the room transformed into that of a giant ramp. "Woah... The Professor never said he'd include this in the security system!" Blossom said.

"Security system?"

"Yeah see... the mountain is totally artificial." What the!? "And in about three seconds I feel something bad may happen." She'll wish she wasn't right, cause there was a huge monolith of a boulder rolling down a pedestal. RUN people, RUN!

"We can't fly yet; so we'll have to outrun it!" Blossom announced.

"We can't outrun that thing!" Buttercup said.

"Then let's slide!" Bubbles hopped onto the slide and started riding down it.

"She's seriously brave." Kat said to herself.

"Well... what are we standing around for? AHH!" Buttercup immediately hopped onto the slide followed by Blossom and Kat. The boulder was hot on their tails; but they were just about halfway out!

"Stick together! And hold on tight!" Blossom ordered. All two other sisters held on to each other as well as Kat. "Brace yourselves!" The boulder was no less than a foot away from everyone before they all got shot out of the side of the artificial mountain; while the giant stone got stuck in the hole. Now they were all flying through the air. "Kat! Don't let go!" She nodded, and once the girls hit the ground (Bubbles, then Buttercup, then Blossom carrying Kat) not a single injury was had. Everyone was breathing heavily. "We made it out... hurray..!"

"Man... that seriously... knocked all the wind... out of me." Buttercup admitted.

"That was so much fun! We should do that again!" Bubbles only received angry glares. "I mean... Yeah! How do you like us now!? Ya stupid boulder!" HA! Oh man, what a riot!

"Well at least we're out of there. But before we do anything else." She allows Kat to free herself. "Kat? Would it be fine if we stayed with you until all our powers return?"

She was worried. She didn't know how to respond to that; but if there's one thing she hates more than saying no to someone, it's not allowing the three heroes that she just met, to stay with her family for the time being. "I'm not sure what my parents will think... but sure! You all saved me back there. I owe you like you owed me."

"Your grateful actions shall not be forgotten Kat." Blossom said as the three followed the 7th grader to her household.

(They all arrive silently)

The four were just outside the house's door. "Now I'm gonna have to ask you three to keep the volume to a minimum."

"Why's that?" Bubbles whispered.

"Because my parents are asleep; I snuck out to get you three to wake up."

"Wow... the determination." Buttercup was amused.

"Once we get in... *yawns* I want you to hide in the closet in my room." She slowly opens the door to avoid making it creak. She carefully tip-toed up the stairs while the girls followed closely (A/N: They were actually just latching onto her lol). They didn't weigh her down by any means, so it was a quick 'get in, stay in' mission. Without making any other unnecessary sounds, they all made it to Kat's room.

"So this is your room? Nice." Buttercup complimented.

"It's not much... but make yourself at home."

They happily accepted the offer, but then they remembered Kat kindly asked them to stay hidden and sleep in her closet. Not wanting to start up some commotion about: 'Why do we have to sleep in there huh? Why can't we just stay out here like a 'normal person'? Why?' Of course... because they already knew why. How would someone react to seeing their faces just casually show up out of seemingly nowhere? Again, they didn't press the matter further, and obliged.

"I still can't thank you enough; you're a good person Kat. Going out of your own way to bring us back was a solid hero move." Blossom said as she closed the door.

Kat just simply nodded and fell onto her bed and slept; at 3:54 no less.

(Tomorrow morning)

Kat was still sleeping peacefully, along with the girls who were all stacked on top of each other while they slept in the most uncomfortable of positions. When Kat finally opened her eyes, it took her a moment for her eyes to adjust and notice the time said 12:07. When her senses finally returned, she opened up the closet and woke up the girls.

"Hey girls? You awake yet?"

They each woke up one by one.

"*While yawning* Is it morning already?" Bubbles asked, still sleepy.

"Mhm." Kat nodded.

"Well... maybe *yawn* we could... possibly take this time to check what we've missed? Maybe head back to our old home?" Blossom suggested.

The mentions of that made Kat remember two certain things from that message. "-I'm leaving myself frozen in a hidden room. You won't be able to find me, not without the help of my daughters." That was the first one. The second one was: "-there's a special vial of Chemical X sitting on the desk in a locked box. Once you awaken the heroes, they can help you with that." She then reminded the three about this. "Girls. The messages from the recording told me about certain things you may need to know..."

"What would that be?" All three asked.

"First off, do you think all three of you can fit in my backpack?"

"I'm sure. It depends on the size of the backpack though." Blossom told her.

"Let's test that theory then." She picked out her backpack and had all three sisters jump in. "Huh. Guess not."

"Gee... you don't say!" Buttercup said while pushing Bubbles' foot off her face.

"Ow! I was just getting out Ms. Pushy!" Bubbles shot to her sister.

"Both of you quiet down. My parents are gonna get sus-"

"Katrina! What were those noises!?" Her mother called up.

"Oh no. I just accidentally knocked something over is all!" She lied.

"Okay! Just be careful with your surroundings next time!"

"Yes mom!" She waited for each girl to fully climb out of the cramped space. "Sorry about that girls."

"No, no, no. It's fine; we'll just have to work out another way around this." Blossom suggested. "It may not work, but do you know that height trick people do in cartoons?"

"I don't think any of the larger clothing my parents have are in my room. They think it's unwise to just leave things hanging around."

"I have an idea! We'll fly out the window unnoticed!" Bubbles said.

The other two sisters looked at her, dumbfounded; then remembered they could fly. "Darn. Should've tried this first."

Kat ran downstairs to inform her parents that she was just simply leaving to visit someone. They said that'd be fine, she left after giving her goodbyes and met up with the girls in her backyard. "You three are okay right?"

"Oh please... we've fallen from heights way greater than this." Buttercup gloated.

"And every time we did, we always landed on our feet!" Bubbles added.

"Well let's head over to your home then girls." All three of the Powerpuff Girls nodded and carried her over to the white home in the suburbs, where they were about to discover something amazing.

(At their house)

Once they made it over, the girls spent about a full minute flying around it and examining it from all angles. They were amazed at the fact that the outside looked better than the inside. "Oh my gosh... it looks like this place was ravaged!" Blossom commented.

"Everything's busted up. The living room, the kitchen, the *shudders* bathroom, and even our room!" Bubbles said. "And worse..!"

"What's worse!?" Everyone asked.

Tears welled up in Bubbles' eyes as she yelled: "I can't find Octi!"

"Octi?" Kat asked.

"He's Bubbles' 'favorite' plush toy. A small, purple octopus with a top hat." Blossom said.

"Oh that's who that was! I didn't think he had a name..."

"What? What'd you think he was called?"

"Suckers, because all octopi have suckers."

Buttercup kind of just snickered and Blossom gave a small nod of understanding. Bubbles was only curious as to where Kat had him 'held captive'. "Well..? WHERE IS HE NOW!?" She flew up to Kat to be at eye level. Kat backed up a bit because of how frightening all of this was to her. Okay you know what? To be honest, I too would probably be quivering in fear. "TELL ME NOW!"

"BUBBLES! Please control yourself!" Blossom attempted to calm her sister.

"Besides. I've got him right here." She reached into her backpack and held out Octi.

"*Super surprised gasp of happiness and awe* THANK YOU SO MUCH!" She hugged her octopus friend and then Kat. "Wait... what were we actually here for again?"
