Legendary Heroes of Townsville
(Summary so far: During the ceremony of introducing the Powerpuff Girls into Townsville of 2103, HIM mysteriously attacked and gave everyone a scare! The girls tried getting him out, but unfortunately they were ill-prepared; instantly getting knocked down by HIM's power. Later on, they finally met Kat's mother who apparently is a decendant of the secretary of the past Mayor! Katrina herself was rather surprised about this too! They explained their whole origin to the two of them, and how they suddenly became sealed away in stone. Now in this new chapter... more will probably be explained! Er... probably...)
Chapter 8
(Starting off in HIM's Inferno)
"Those three will be quite the pain in the south to defeat... but I'll have my way with them... eventually..." Abysmal showed up and raised his Hollow Axe. "Patience... I know what you're willing to do... but to be honest, I see no reason to just attack them instantly... I'd rather play with them some more..." Abysmal placed the axe on the ground gently and nodded. "You know the only way they could possibly stop you is to destroy your Hollow Axe... but even if those three found out it'd be nigh impossible to break it! So I say, let it wait, their time of reckoning can come soon..."
Meanwhile in the city of Townsville... *BOOM* Mojo's robots were sent out to level the city! Looks like he's putting his plan into action!
"See!? What'd I tell you!? I told you Mojo couldn't be given a second chance!" Buttercup said.
"We can start the revenge fantasies later Buttercup. I'll have a stern talking with our 'robotic fellow' soon after this ends." Blossom told her enraged sister.
"I swear he'd better have a good reason for Blossom not to rip his brain straight out of the jar and step on it!" The girls dove down into the chaos filled city and took out every robot in the timespan of about two minutes.
"I'll head over to the observatory now! You two, keep those menaces at bay!" Blossom dashed off into the horizon, not even giving her sisters a moment to contest, since when they turned around there were more armored robots firing at them from ground level.
"C'mon! We can handle these guys!" Buttercup said. Bubbles nodded and went down with her sister (A/N: Not in the bad way relax...).
(With Blossom)
Blossom had flown down in front of Mojo's giant metal door, instead of knocking she proved she meant business by smashing it off its hinges. From inside the dimly lit lair, only her eyes were visible. "MOJO!?" She yelled.
"Is that you Blossom!? That's quite a surprise, I never would've expected you to BASH MY DOOR DOWN LIKE A MANIAC! Do you not understand how much repairs would cost? Almost as much as the new armor I bought for my main robot recently!"
"Cut it creep! Why are you creating these robots and letting them destroy Townsville!?"
"Oh those things? They're made simply for the purpose of giving your hero job meaning. Yes, I know, I know, it sounds stupid and dumb and makes me look like the most incompetent villain in the universe, but you must simply trust me on this. I told you I'm out of the villain business for good!"
"So you create killer robots?"
"THE PLAN HAD HOLES! Many holes! Like that of swiss cheese!"
"Alright, alright calm down geezer! I believe you! I'll tell my sisters and I bet I'll have to explain many different reasons on why they should believe you. Other than that, you have my word for it."
"At least you're the most understandable when it comes to conversations like this."
"Just remember... if you dare pull any funny business like the day we were first made..." She warned.
"Trust me... I even have an honesty meter right here. Look scan me with it." Mojo handed Blossom a device with a bulb at the end. She pressed the only button on the device (an orange button marked 'scan') and a light came out and scanned the small jar. A meter filled up completely to the point where it said 'totally truthful'.
"You think I can borrow this for some time?" She said with a smirk.
"Ohohohoho... I think I know where you're getting at... hahaha!"
She put the device... somewhere (odd 'cause she doesn't have pockets) and left the building. "See ya Mojo!"
"*Heavy panting* Man... that was... a lot more... than I expected!" Bubbles said in an exasperated tone.
"*Heavy breathing* Meh... nothing to it. Sure it knocked the wind out of me, but I'm good." Buttercup's condition said otherwise.
"Let's head back home. Maybe Blossom's done interrogating Mojo?"
"What makes you say that?" Her sister pointed up towards the sky where a pink streak could be seen. "Oh... that. Alright, let's head off then!" They flew up to her level of altitude, and began asking the one simple question. "So?"
"So what?" Blossom asked, feigning stupidity.
"Don't play coy Bloss! What'd he tell you?"
"He 'truthfully' said he's only doing this for us; and if you find that hard to believe." She handed Buttercup the device that reads your honesty level. She scanned Blossom, and it said she was being 'simply truthful' (A/N: There's a difference between 'totally' and 'simply'. In this case, Mojo was being as honest as possible; Blossom was just being honest).
"Alright... I believe you. But not because this machine told me! Because I can hear it from the tone of your voice."
"Since when were you a 'lie detector'?" Bubbles asked.
"Since never."
(In HIM's inferno)
"So... the monkey-brained goofball has given up his villainous ways!? I guess villains really CAN change... how sickening..." HIM stood up and brushed away the vision. "But don't worry girls... as I said that day, you've merely a week from now, then I will show you just how much I MISSED you~. It's a shame I can't speed up today, or tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after that... well you get the idea right?" He broke the fourth wall on that last line.
"Each day I grow restless thinking about how I wish for those three to finally go down... I'll find a way, I guarantee it; and this time, those statues won't last long... ahaha~!" Wow, HIM's seriously considering ending their lives in an immobile state? That's an A+ villain idea right there.
(Meanwhile in the overworld...)
Buttercup was sitting on the edge of her and her sisters' bed, constantly shifting. "Ugh..." She'd say every now and then to show how bored she was.
"What's wrong sis?" Bubbles asked.
"It's HIM! His 'you have a week' warning is putting me on edge!" She told her.
"Why is it?"
"Isn't it obvious Bubbles? He's probably gonna bring Abysmal back and we're gonna be turned into statues again!" She started speaking more calmly just then. "Then it'll probably be another 83 year snooze-fest..."
"Buttercup... I hear you, and honestly... I too am frightened." Blossom got up and put a bookmark in between the book she was reading, and joined her siblings on the multi-color bed. "If anything, and I mean if anything, was to happen to you two... I'd be devastated... I've taken a trip into the depths of my own mind when we slept, and this one nightmare I had was really scary."
"What happened?" Asked an all-too curious Bubbles.
"Okay... I'll explain to the best of my memory. *Ahem*" (A/N: Pretend everything she says is being shown). "The sky was dark, we were fighting someone I didn't even know... he was really dangerous though, while I was knocked out by one of his attacks, you two pushed forward and tried to get back at them for me. I only managed to look up just enough to the point where I saw your bodies being pierced by spikes. The villain approached me, and all of a sudden, I felt this great anger I've never felt before. All I remember is that I was *this* close to hitting them, when I jolted awake. I know, it's dumb, I woke up just before anything else could happen." She stopped to take a small inhale of air. "Regarding HIM however, I have a feeling everything in my dream was predicting the future in a way..."
"I'm just scared... I don't want what happened last time to happen again!" Buttercup admitted.
"I won't let those events transpire again... and I'm sure Bubbles wouldn't either. Right?"
Bubbles merely nodded.
"Well then... since we've probably gotten everything off our chests, let's just head back to having our fun. Ok?"
"Fine." The other two sisters said.
"I'm still afraid though..."
(Tomorrow evening...)
The girls were just enjoying their day, until Bubbles just noticed something... "*Gasp*!"
"What is it Bubbles!?" Blossom asked.
"I think we almost forgot something!"
"What!?" Buttercup asked.
"Today is..."
Oh man what is it!? The suspense is killing me!
"...Our birthday!"
The other two looked at the calendar and they just realized it as well. "Oh my god she's right! Buttercup it IS our birthday!"
"That's right girls! It is your birthday today!" The Professor said from downstairs. "And I've already set up everything! The people will show up soon!"
"We have to get ready!" Bubbles shouted. The girls frantically searched for their birthday hats (except Blossom because she preferred her bow), through pretty much everywhere they searched they didn't turn up once. They shot themselves down the stairs until where they skidded to a halt in sight of Professor Utonium holding the cone hats in his hands. Bubbles and Buttercup took theirs of their respective colors. "So? When is it starting?"
"Oh everyone should be here..." *Ding dong* (A/N: The witch is dead). "Right now." He walked to the entrance door and everyone who wished to show up was there. "Thank you all for showing up to my little girls' birthday party. You'd have to imagine the troubles of being a single parent, just trying to provide for his three super-powered children."
"I'd have to agree, 'cept I can't, cause I don't have any 'super-powered' kids." Kat's father joked. "But I do have her." *Crowd goes 'aw'*.
"Well now that everything is ready, come on into the backyard. Remember to bring out the presents!" Everyone just zoomed in with boxes wrapped and ready.
"You didn't have to have everyone bring gifts y'know." Buttercup said.
"Why's that?"
"Because everyone showing up was enough of a present!" Bubbles said in the most optimistic tone.
"Oh that's too sweet of you... I'll have everyone know."
"No reason for that now. They've already set them down on the table." Blossom 'pointed' towards the glass door where everyone was gathered up.
"Oh well... Well, presents are better opened than left unopened right girls?"
"Yep!"
"So go on out there and wait for me to come out. I'll cut up the cake as soon as I bring it out."
"Ok!" They flew out the back door.
"Now I just need to remember where I put that thing... Ah! Now I remember!" He went downstairs into the lab and opened up a closet that contained two surprises. The first one was a cake that contained the girls' favorite flavors (A/N: No, I'm not sure what they may be), and the second one was a pair of black and white eyes (one each). "What the!?" Abysmal jumped out and knocked the Professor to the ground, once he was thoroughly pinned, he swung the Hollow Axe, and turned the Professor to stone! HIM came forth a moment later.
"Hmhmhmhmhmhm~... So sad to see him go like this... but I'll give him a chance at living once more... Abysmal... unpetrify his head." Abysmal did as ordered.
"*GASP* You- you monster! My girls will find me like this and give you the beatdown of a lifetime!"
"Ahaha~. It won't be as simple as you think~. After all, they can't hear what isn't spoken... Abysmal? If you would..." Abysmal turned the Professor's head to stone again. "Perfect... I'll just take this thing out now and set it near his foot." HIM took a beaker of the Chemical SX and placed it in between both the Professor's feet. "We can leave now, our business is done here. All is well, it's just a prank!" The devil and demon both disappeared in a harsh light.
"Professor!? Professor is that cake out yet!?" It was set on the countertop not too long after the villains' disappearance.
"Professor!? Professor!?" Blossom's voice sounded worried from above the lab.
"That's it I'm going underground!" Buttercup entered the lab with her sisters behind them. They gasped in horror from what they saw. "No... way... they got to him!? And when he was totally defenseless! Why I oughta..!"
"Relax! They clearly were sending us a warning. Look, by his feet." Blossom pointed out the beaker. "HIM's evil but even there are lines he feels like he shouldn't even cross sometimes." Blossom flew over and poured the SX on their father figure's head, the stone broke away instantly.
"Oh my aching head..."
"Professor! What'd that mean ol' Abysmal do to you!?" Bubbles asked.
"Ugh... it's obvious isn't it?" Buttercup snarked.
"Buttercup!" Blossom said angrily while defending her sister.
"Both HIM and Abysmal sneak-attacked me while I was getting your cake ready. Speaking of, it's over there." His lawn-colored daughter got in his face and demanded answers.
"FORGET THE CAKE TELL US WHAT HE SAID!" Buttercup interrupted.
"Buttercup! Calm down this instant!" She backed off slightly, still looking peeved. "Now then... he didn't really say much of anything; as a matter of fact, I feel the reason why is because he's hiding something darker and stronger from us."
"With that guy involved, it's hard to not go with that narrative." Blossom said, agreeingly (A/N: That's not a real word is it?).
"Don't worry Professor... from now on, we'll be on our best guard..." Bubbles said, but she abandoned that narrative when she saw the cake. "Hey nice cake! Don't worry! I'll bring it out!"
"So much for the whole 'on guard' thing." Buttercup said. "But it's Bubbles, let her enjoy herself. Let's get back to the party you three."
"Yeah!" They all shouted.
And what a fine party they had; playing games, opening their presents, the eating of the cake, even busting out and busting open the piƱata; yep a good time was had by all, and our three heroes went to sleep with cute little smiles on their faces. Little did they know, if they don't plan correctly, the next few days will be their last...
