Legendary Heroes of Townsville
(Summary so far: Mojo's robots attacked Townsville the day before yesterday, raising a lot of questions from the girls. He simply answered to Blossom saying that it was to have the girls retain their hero status (kinda stupid if you ask me...). As the girls woke up yesterday, Bubbles remembered it was their birthday! Everyone was getting everything prepared until Professor Utonium went down to get the cake he'd ordered. Abysmal and HIM planned a sneak-attack, turning the Professor into a statue as a warning for the girls. Now the three are more on guard possibly more than ever.)
Chapter 9
"Man who does HIM think he is!? Attacking the Professor, unprovoked! I swear if I see that sunburnt lobster-handed devil... I'm gonna-!"
"Buttercup. Calm down with the revenge fantasies ok?" Blossom interrupted. "We're all angry with him, except me and Bubbles are at least keeping our thoughts to ourselves!"
Buttercup let out a sigh of defeat and continued to speak. "I'm sorry ok? It's just that... attacking a member of our family without us around to realize it, really leaves a me in an unforgiving mood."
"Don't worry Buttercup! Soon HIM and Abysmal will be gone; once we come together and fight like teammates, we'll have left Townsville completely safe once again!" Bubbles said; hoping to maybe give not only her sisters, but herself as well, some form of hope.
"You know what? You're right; sure it may have been eighty-something years since we all last fought them, but I'm sure if we pull through, we can win!" Blossom said as she held her left arm up in the air proudly. She set it in front of her and urged her sisters to join. "Powerpuff Girls on three... One... two... three!"
"POWERPUFF GIRLS!" They all lifted their left arms as they shouted.
"Girls!? We have visitors!" The trio flew down to find the Melinskis at their door. "I thought it'd be nice to bring over your new friend's family for a bit of 'bonding'. Of course since you've been with Katrina for quite some time, I don't mind what you four do. I however haven't been given a chance to properly introduce myself to her parents. So... while you kids play upstairs, or whatever you do in your free time, I'll be down here with these two if you need me." The family of three entered and Katrina followed the girls upstairs. Meanwhile, back in the living room, Professor Utonium was helping his guests feel comfortable. "So... what's it like having one kid?"
"Depends, what's it like having three superpowered daughters?" Mr. Melinski joked.
"Oh you!" Ms. Melinski joked.
"No it's fine. Though I'm sure they've explained everything right?"
She nodded.
"Y'know our daughter always wanted a sibling; guess we weren't lucky enough eh?
"I'm not sure what my daughters would think of that. They were created in my lab with four different things after all."
(Back upstairs)
"Wow... I had no idea that happened..." Katrina said; her friends told her everything.
"Yeah; and Buttercup can't let it go." Bubbles added.
"I can too!" She retorted. "But then you just HAD to bring it back up! Katrina, I'm sorry, but I need to go punch something!" She flew out of the room leaving a streak of green light; what did she go to punch? A stationary boulder. Once she was finished, she flew back home. "Ok... I'm fine now... now where were we?"
"Either way... that must've been scary."
"It was..." Blossom said. "And it was also the first time it happened to him, he's never felt the effects of the curse before. After everyone left the party he told us 'It was like dying', that's how we felt when it hit us too..."
"Do you think you can beat them now?"
"Unfortunately... no. We've a long way to go before engaging in combat with those two. I wouldn't dare to be stupid and just challenge them now." (A/N: Did you get the reference?).
"And I'm with her on that too." Bubbles said.
"Ditto." Buttercup added.
"We know well enough not to mess with an enemy who's stronger than us. Not unless we train hard enough before doing anything about them." Blossom rose up from her position, and her sisters followed. "We're heading to the Training Room now. If you want, you can look over us."
"Of course I want to. I like watching you three battle."
"Well this one may just prove to be fun to watch then." All four girls went back downstairs. "Professor, we're heading to the Training Room if you don't mind!"
"Oh don't worry you can." He replied.
"Thanks!" Bubbles said as the others made their way down.
"So... what's it like?" Katrina asked.
"What's what like?" Buttercup asked. "Oh you mean the Training Room? Well... to put it simple, we fight simulations... and sometimes each other."
"How do those battles usually end up?"
"Against each other, a few bruises here and there." Blossom answered.
"But against the simulated monsters, pretty much the same thing." Bubbles said.
"Only you're outsized by the enemy." Buttercup joked.
(Just outside the Training Room Area)
Once they made it into the Training Room, everyone was greeted with a technologically advanced looking control panel. Behind that was glass; behind the glass was a white room with a blue grid pattern. The heroes urged Katrina not to enter said room.
"We think it's best you stay out here. Obviously..." Buttercup said.
"We've seen the Professor work this thing hundreds of times! So we know how to use the settings properly!" Bubbles said.
"Here. Take a look!" Blossom flew over to the controls and set a dial to Danger Level: 7. "Yes I know it's just a dial, but it's more important than you think. It controls the intensity of the monster we're fighting. Without it, there could be... major issues."
"Now take a look at what happens from the other side!" Bubbles told her. The girls flew in for their training mission, and the are suddenly became an area covered in grass with very few flowers. It looked like a peaceful place, until a UFO came by, and revealed it's arms, legs, and eyes from it's 'cockpit'. (A/N: If you're that type of person who likes to turn on music for a specific situation, you go ahead and do that; sorry I didn't say this earlier). "A special projection unit transforms the entire room into an area made for combat!"
"Or literally anything else." Buttercup added.
"Now although they're simulations, they're still deadly; we had a run-in with a problem that nearly killed us, but it's been taken care of, so you needn't worry; just watch us do our thing!" Blossom stared back towards the stomping disc-shaped monster, and turned to her sisters to give orders. "Alright, throw everything at this guy and let's see what it can do. Once we've found a weakness, strike it." Her sisters nodded and flew at the monster; after reaching a specific distance, they let loose. It covered its head with its lanky metal arms; as a form of retaliation it closed its legs and put out its arms; electricity started to crawl around its body, and it spun like a tornado, as well as creating storm clouds that aimed straight at the girls. "Evasive maneuvers now!" The girls managed to dodge a bolt in the nick of time.
"Look!" Buttercup shouted. The electricity is still on the ground in a concentrated state.
"Alright. Don't get to close to the ground, and don't stay in one spot for too long. Hopefully that thing can't spin forever..." They had to survive an onslaught that nearly lasted three whole minutes. Katrina was on the edge of her seat, fearing on them would meet an embarrassing defeat. Fortunately, Blossom was extremely luck to be correct, it couldn't continue spinning and eventually toppled over, and started rolling towards them. "Now remove the limbs!" Her sisters obeyed, as they were already at the monster's arms while Blossom taking care of the limbs.
"Now what're you gonna do huh!? You overgrown frisbee!?" Buttercup taunted.
To answer her question, the monster started spinning in place and spikes appeared on the edges of the disc. As soon as it started moving again, it dashed at the heroes. They evaded it easily. From the underside of the monster, a blaster appeared; it shot a ray of energy that terraformed the land into a half-pipe, causing the monster to roll straight back at the girls again!
"That's not something you see everyday..." Bubbles said.
"Touché. But no time to stand around, this monster clearly doesn't want us to sit still, so that's not what we're gonna do!" The trio flew high up into the air (enough to the point where they didn't hit the invisible ceiling), and prepared the Starburst Ray. They held their hands out as the monster at ground level stopped rolling and simply did that thing that all wheels do when they stop rolling, and simply fell over. The girls fired their Starburst Ray, and soon enough, their foe was vanquished. Everyone cheered.
The room went back to normal and the girls exited. Katrina was over-excited. "That was awesome! You really know what to do for every situation huh?"
"Don't flatter us, there are some things that are complicated even for me." Says Blossom; who claimed her intelligence level only reaches so high. "But we appreciate the support, as usual, we never want anyone incapable getting into the battlefield."
That almost sounded like a downsizing comment. "I understand."
"Look we don't mean we don't want you helping us. 'Your support out of the battlefield is enough to keep us going' is pretty much what Blossom is saying. Don't take it as a 'we don't need you' comment." Bubbles said.
"I didn't at first, but you came awfully close to making me think that just now."
"Oops... didn't mean to do that..." She said to herself.
"Anyways, why don't we head upstairs, I'm sure you'll like what the Professor's making for everyone." Blossom stepped in to say.
"Sounds nice!" So that's what they all went up to find out.
(In HIM's lair inferno)
"So very amusing how they think going through all those training sections and regiments will really make them formidable when it comes to finally facing me... I have all I need to end their lives with right here~." Abysmal was slicing up pillars of stone HIM was constantly summoning with a wave of his claw. "Now cut it up into fifteen equal pieces!" He did as told. "Excellent. Now turn this into stone and shatter it!" He threw an avocado up into the air; Abysmal flew up at a speed so blinding it looked like he was teleporting (A/N: Think Boomerang Kuwanger). Sliced the avocado, turning it into stone, and threw it to the ground where it became mere dust. "They will truly lose all hope when they see the power of your brand new ability~." The voiceless Abysmal merely nodded and smirked.
(Back at the home of the Utoniums)
"So glad you two could stay a while, it was nice chatting to some fellow adults again." The Professor said.
"You really are a man of science eh?" Mr. Melinski asked.
"Yes, but I'm also a family man. These three little bundles of joy are all that keep me motivated." He held in his daughters for a group hug, and they faintly blushed. "See you some other time?"
"Sounds nice. Though maybe next time you'll be the ones heading over to our abode." Mrs. Melinski joked.
"I'm sure that's probable. Bye!"
The Melinskis left with smiles on their faces, all except for offspring, who made a nodding motion to the girls. They each replied with one as well. Professor Utonium then closed the door.
"Well then, if you need me girls, you'll know where I'll be." The Professor then walked off to his lab. Leaving the girls to talk amongst themselves.
"You think she nodded because she wants to make sure we're safe when we go against 'them'?" Bubbles asked.
"It's a great chance that she did. Now that everyone in Townsville knows of our existence, we have to do our best not too let anyone of those civilians down... especially her..." Blossom said.
"Relax, we'll show them the ol' one, two; won't we?" Buttercup asked.
"Even if you're saying that as a means of calming me down, it's not gonna work. I'm already preparing for when 'that fateful day' comes..." Blossom walked away from her sisters; leaving them rather speechless.
"I... didn't know she's felt like this..."
"Me neither..." Bubbles added. "But she always worries about everyone she cares about. You, me, Professor, and now she's even trying to carry all of this city on her back... all because HIM and Abysmal are leaving her fearful..."
"Well then... best it's time to buckle down and get serious." The other sisters then headed upstairs to join with their bow-wearing leader.
(At the Melinskis' home, Katrina's room)
"Watching them fighting still kinda made me a little scared... but I'm sure they'll pull through... it's like Blossom said, they're capable enough." Katrina closed and put down the book she was writing in marked: 'Diary'. "I know they can do this..." She turned off the lights and went to sleep.
I sure hope they can...
