"Alright Luz, are you ready for your first day as a witches apprentice?" Melissa asked.
"Yes!" Luz said, saluting.
"Alright, let's go."
Melissa and Luz went downstairs where they saw Eda waiting.
"Alright Kid, you will go on a potion run with my Kid." Eda said, "And King will go with you to make sure you don't get eaten."
Eda hands Luz the bag and Emily drags her with her. They spent the morning delivering potions in silence until Luz decided to start the conversation.
"So, are you... seeing anyone?"
"If that's your way of asking if I'm single. I have a girlfriend. Her name's Amelia."
Emily summoned her scroll and showed Luz a picture.
"I... I wasn't asking if you were single because of... you know. I was just trying to start a conversation."
"Well, you did it in the most awkward ways possible." Emily said, "Come on, last customer... oh not this guy."
"Is it bad?"
"He's really creepy, always trying to get people to go on this quest." Emily said.
"Quest?" Luz asked.
Later, Luz was sneaking out when she was stopped by Emily.
"I know what you're doing." Emily said.
"You can't stop me."
"I know, but I can make sure you don't get killed. I'm going with you."
The two walk quietly, when Emily decides to speak up.
"So, you have any other family?" Emily asked.
"No, other than my mom and aunt. My uncle was murdered and my cousin was kidnapped." Luz said, "We... don't really talk about them much."
Emily felt bad about bringing it up. Never knowing her mom made her feel bad about asking about other people's family problems. They continued to go on their adventure until they found the staff.
"Yeah, here it is." Emily said, still not believing in the entire thing.
Luz walked up to it and grabbed it. She pulled it out of the stone and smiled. It quickly stopped being a happy moment when Emily walked over and made the staff disappear.
"An Illusion. You've be had, Luz."
The puppeteer came from a fog.
"You've fallen for my trap!" He said.
"Did we though?" Emily asked, making a spell circle.
She burned him with a fire spell and he burned to death. It didn't take long for Eda, Melissa, and King to show up.
"Are you two okay?" Eda asked.
"We're fine." Emily said.
"That's good. Camila would kill me if something happened to Luz." Melissa said.
Melissa noticed how upset Luz looked and walked over to her.
"Come on, Luz, let's go talk a little."
Later, Emily opened the door and saw Amelia.
"Hey, honey." Emily said, "I want you to meet someone."
She brought Amelia over to Luz.
"This is Luz, she's from the Human World. Luz, this is Amelia. She studies the plant track at Hexside."
"Hexside?"
"It's a school." Emily said.
