"I'm not crazy am I?" Carrie asked.

"No, not at all". Said Tommy. "I think dating a fictional character is pretty cool. I've even dated a few fictional characters myself as well". He said.

Carrie smiled. "Really, who?" She asked him .

"Rey from star wars. Captain marvel. Wonder woman". Said Tommy.

Carrie chuckled. "They are beautiful women".

Tommy smiled. "They certainly are. But I need to ask you something. Wht is this game so important? What makes it meaningful?" Tommy asked Carrie.

"Well", she said "My whole life I've been bullied. Chris Hargensen hates me. Her friends hate me. Even my momma hates me. If I dont win tonight then they'll label me as a failure". She said.

"Carrie.." Tommy said feeling sad.

"I know how they are. Their words still sting. They said I'm a loser. I'm weird. Awkward, creepy, a nobody". Said Carrie.

"But you arent creepy or awkward or weird". Said Tommy. "Heather really likes you. She told me today". He said.

"Really? She likes me?" Carried asked.

"Yeah. Your girlfriend; my best friend Sue Snell she loves you. All of your parents love you". Said Tommy.

Carrie smiled. "Yay! She said. "But I need to win this game because when I think about it...I wanna change things. I wanna change how people can date fictional characters without the stress and the heartbreak and all the craziness. I believe that if I win the game I will prove all my bullies wrong. If I defeat Bee from the movie the babysitter...I will have the changed the game of relationships. That's what I truly want". Said Carrie. "For people to feel confident and happy to date fictional characters because dating is too damn painful with humans".

Tommy thought about what Carrie just said. And it made sense to him. "I agree with you. I've dated humans and you know what? It is impossible to make someone for the rest of their life. I agree with you on that. Relationships with humans and marriage is honestly a pile of crap. Even with the right person a relationship or a marriage can still be over". He said.

"Now do you see why i wanna win the football game?" Carrie asked.

"Yeah", said tommy. "To show that normal doesnt exist and its okay to date a fictional character. And to not care what others think".

"See? This is why you're one of my best friends!!" Said Carrie.

Tommy laughed. "You're my best friend too".

It's a chilly Monday night in Pittsburgh. The wind slightly blowing in the air. Just over 1 minute left in the game. Bee is aggressively the iPad. Carrie is holding her iPad. Shes pressed the snap ball button and ran the ball and then...

"TOUCHDOWN!!!!" Carrie and everyone yelled.

*Voice over*

Everyone always told Carrie she was crazy. She was good for nothing. And that she'd be a crazy cat lady. But in this game all her bullies got exposed because Chris Hargensen became a crack whore. Billy Nolan became an alcoholic. All of chris Hargensen's friends became fat. And Mr. Ullman still owes money to Tina for child support though he lost his job.

And you know? Neither one of those people were truly emotionally or mentally sound nor are they mature. Their concept in life was flawed. The popular ladies became nothing. The men who bullied Carrie went from tall and handsome to football players who never made it. They thought they could charm their way into finding love with money. You cant buy love with money. You have to love yourself. You have to love your partner and respect your partner. Trust your partner. Communication. That's how relationships work isnt? You cant buy love or reinvent love with money or analytics. You cant reinvent what you dont have in your heart.

And by winning this game...Carrie proved her bullies wrong and Sue Snell is her real life girlfriend and bee from the movie the babysitter is her fictional character girlfriend. And in the words of the moneyball movie: Nobody reinvents this game.
