'I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry rot. Fear only makes us small. -Yoda "The world is a dangerous place to live, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing." Albert Einstein Greetings one and all, Knight Writer 95 here. I am an avid reader and my imagination for stories almost continuously pelts me with plot bunnies. Unfortunately, I suck at imitating already established characters despite occasionally having a decent grasp on the personalities. No matter, though, part of the reason I'm here is to learn and improve my skill. Where better to do that than on a site where others can give feedback? Despite being a good author when left to my own devices, I'm really here to be more of a critic than anything else. You needn't worry that I'll tear your fic apart as I only offer constructive criticism. If you're doing a good job then I will compliment you and encourage you to continue. If your writing doesn't seem to be living up to its full potential, I will point it out and offer advice and, if you want it, put your own time and effort into your work and I don't believe that I or anyone else has the right to outright insult your work. Saying something is bad and that there's room for improvement is one thing but just insulting and being mean for meanness sake it is not alright at all. That being said here are a few of my peeves that I look for when I critique others work. 1. Spelling and grammar. I'm an aspiring author so I'm a bit of a grammar freak. If the errors are few and far between and do not hinder the reader's ability to understand what is being said then I will probably let it slide. But honestly, a great piece of fiction can be killed by bad grammar and spelling. As you might be able to tell by the length of my rambling here, spelling and grammar mistakes are my biggest peeve. 2. Good characterization. Always important in my book. I like to be able to hear the characters in my head while I read. It makes me feel like I'm really there and gets my imagination active. And I need a good imagination as an author. 3. Good plot. Having a good plot engages readers and well done drama or twists keep us interested. 4. Length. I really dislike stories that have three times as many chapters as they have words. Unless it's a drabble series, my experience has been that these stories are typically poorly written, have poor characterization, fraught with spelling and grammar errors, don't always flow very well, and... feel lazy. No offense intended to anyone on the site, that's just my opinion. With enough effort and practice, I believe anyone can write decent stories. 'There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes.' -The Fourth Doctor MARCH 21, 2013 I have decided to write a crossover fanfiction that will combine my Ghostbusters and Inspector Gadget worlds with two of my own original creations, the Specter, a superhero, and Professor Argos, an eccentric professor working for Global Security. These two stories are still being written but will soon be published on FictionPress. I do not yet have a release date for either one. So far my Ghostbusters fic is just going to lay the groundwork for the finale but some of the other stories may contribute to the over all arc. Here's a synopsis for the final installment in the Ultimate Crossover series. The new Ghostbusters have defeated an enemy of the original Ghostbusters. Or have they? Slime has been appearing in cities across the US, specifically Detroit, Los Angeles, and Atlantic City. These are the respective home towns of Inspector Gadget, Professor Argos, and the Specter. And what about the waters surrounding New York? What's been causing them to behave so unusually? These separate individuals must ban together to combat this growing evil and failure is not an option for it would mean an end to the world as they know it. That's all I've got right now but I'll post updates for the series here periodically. Check it again at least once every other week to stay updated and feel free to PM me with ideas or requests. Until next time, keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out. March 22, 2013 I just got addicted to a Back to the Future game for the iPad and iPhone last night. It's a five chapter game with more hi jinks and potential space-time continuum ending paradoxes with a healthy dash of accidentally corrupted timelines added for flavor. I have added writing a novelization of the game to my list. At this point in development I have decided to make each chapter in the game their own story when published. I cannot say at this time how this will effect my other projects. All I can say is that I'll be writing the most for whatever project I get the most ideas for but I do not believe that it will have an impact on the weekly release date for Inspector Gadget: Reboot 2. Until next time, keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out. March 31, 2013 Another project has been added to my growing list. I have added another re-write of Inspector Gadget to my list. I am pleased with how IGR and IGR 2 are turning out but after watching the fake trailer for an IG reboot on YouTube I feel compelled to write a darker version of the cybernetic super cop. Work on this will begin sometime after I finish my BttF: The Game novelization. Also, apologies for the late chapter in IGR 2. Life attacked big time Saturday and all I had ready to post was the first chapter in my BttF game novel. Again, sorry for the late release, I will do my best to get two chapters out this week which shouldn't be too terribly hard since I have the week off for Easter vacation. Thank you for your patience and support. If you want an idea of what my project board looks like without reading my updates, scroll down to the bottom of the page where I now have a list of my projects. Until next time, keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out. April 16, 2013 -- SPECIAL! I have recently decided to make a Ghostbusters fan film over the summer if the script is ready in time. But right now I need ideas for the script. I have a rough idea of what I want to happen but I really need more ideas. The basic overall plot is that a creature is kidnapping children to generate fear so he can grow strong again. Naturally the Ghostbusters have to stop him. But I need more ideas like what is the name of the ghost or ghoul going to be? Also, it's worth noting that this film chronicles the forming of a new Ghostbusters squad so I need to know how they get together in the first place. Most likely they will be college buddies but I'm open to ideas. PLEASE PM SOME TO ME!!!! I need ideas to make this film a reality. Send an idea receive a personal response. Thank you. Until next time, keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out. June 13, 2013 So I'm finally back with another update for you all. For followers of my BttF and IGR 2 fic, don't worry. I haven't abandoned them and intend to finish them. It's just that writer's block, high school graduation, high school graduation parties, and job hunting have been conspiring to take away my time to write. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but life is an S.O.B. sometimes. Two new projects to add to the board before I sign off though. A Rocketeer fic and a fic based off of The Mask are the latest additions to my growing list. At this point I'm still trying to decide if the Rocketeer fic is going to be a novelization of the movie or original comics or if I'm gonna try and come up with my own adventure. That's all I have for you this time and I'll try to update one of my fics by Wednesday. If I haven't, please don't kill me. I'll be halfway to the Canadian border by then. Until next time, keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out. I'm gonna start packing right now. July 3rd, 2013 Happy almost Fourth of July everyone. Yes, I'm still here and making very slow progress on my stories. That's the only thing I don't like about Summer vacation. It messes with my mind. When I take a vacation, I take a vacation. All my good ideas got up and left and I'm sure there's a sign in my head where my brain should be that says 'On Summer Vacation. This space for rent.' I'm like Sherlock Holmes in that sense. In one of the first stories written about the famous sleuth, Watson said that when Holmes wanted to detach his brain from a case, he could do just that. But for all you angry fans out there, please remain calm. I will update, it just probably won't be for a while. Also, just a heads up, for at least two weeks next month, expect no updates. I'll be out of country on a medical mission in Central America and won't have access to a Wi-Fi signal. I will make sure that I have updated my stories before that happens. Thank you to everyone who has not put a bounty on my head. Until next time, keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out. August 25th, 2014 Hello all, been over a year has it? Well I'm still active, still publishing and updating. Just an update to say that the Frozen fanfic I'm currently working on is nearing completion and I'm planning a sequel already and a tentative Holiday special. I have a basic plot for the sequel and am toying with an idea for the Holiday special but I might drop it and try to come up with something else. If that happens I'll need some help from you. If you have an idea you'd think would be good for a holiday special please PM it to me. I'll make sure you receive recognition if you send in an idea and I decide to use it. One last thing to add to the list, a Frozen/Doctor Who crossover that's essentially a rewrite of Frozen if a Time Lord happened to get thrown into the mix. Sorry, but the Time Lord will not be the Doctor. It'll be my own OC Time Lord I'm calling the Inspector. That's all I have for now, until next time, keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out January 3, 2015 Happy New Year everyone! It's another year, a year where anything is possible, where we can do anything! But first I have to get a lot of plot bunnies out of my head. And I am almost starting to regret creating my wizard OC Daniel Griffin and putting him in Fire and Ice. Honestly, since I wrote that story quite a few more bunnies found their way into my mind. The first is A Wish Upon a Star in which Elsa makes a wish at fifteen for a way to control her powers. It's kind of an AU to Fire and Ice if Daniel didn't hail from the twenty-first century. The second is Pushing Boundaries which is a high school AU for Elsa and Daniel. She's a studious music prodigy and he's a laid back card magician. Then I have one more idea for the Fire and Ice series where there's another Princess who was born with Elsa's powers and has been kidnapped. Enter Daniel and Elsa to investigate and find the lost royal. I don't have a title yet. Finally, my newest idea is titled The World of Paradox. Elsa and Anna follow a strange man who's been watching them into a world where 'impossible' is not a word. It's kind of like a combination of Wonderland and the O.Z. from the Syfy miniseries, Tin Man. It's also the first Frozen fanfiction I've come up with where Daniel isn't a very major character and he is not paired with Elsa. Wish me luck this year, I'm going to need it to finish all these stories and not get anymore plot bunnies that involve Daniel and Frozen. Until next time, keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out February 8, 2015 I think I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for the Fire and Ice series. I've come up with a basic plot for what I intend to be the last adventure for Daniel and the royal family of Arendelle and am rather pleased with it. It's still being mapped out in my head and I intend to keep it there until I've finished Waking Nightmares and Another of Ice and Snow. Right now the final adventure is tentatively titled Forever Frozen and once done I'll move on to an ongoing series I've formulated involving the same characters in a modern setting. It's titled Phoenix. That's all I have this time, have a lovely Valentines Day and keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out March 6, 2015 Happy birthday to me! That's right, today is my birthday! I am now 20 years old. I thought I'd know a lot more by now than I actually do. Oh well. I guess that'll come later in life. Anyway, my imagination has not taken a vacation and has assaulted me with yet another idea for the Fire and Ice series. In what was supposed to be the last entry in the saga Daniel, Elsa, Anna and Kristoff have to deal with an insane alchemist who's after the secret to the Philosopher's Stone so he can attain immortality. Our heroes stop him but not before he tests the stone on them and makes them immortal. The only problem now is they have no idea how to reverse the effects of the stone, or if it's even possible. The fic ends with them being immortal and deciding to face the future together. That was going to be the last installment in the series. But now my imagination has developed the idea that in modern times, someone, probably a college student, finds out their secret and then finds them. That's all I have for today. Until next time, keep on writing. Knight Writer 95 out March 15, 2015 Farewell to man's best friend. Last night, unexpectedly, my dog passed away and I want to pay tribute to him. His name was Cesar and he was the most playful and energetic Golden Retriever you could meet. I remember the first time I saw him in 2007. He was a rescue dog and we got him from a family that also had a fat German Shepherd which was dominating him. When he first came to my house, he was scared of everything. When my mom tried to take him on a walk, he refused to go past a sewer grate. Eventually he settled in and then we found something else out about him. He was a runner. If he got half a chance he was going to run away. The first time he escaped my dad went after him in what Cesar was sure to have thought was the best game ever. Another time he got out he crossed a sometimes busy street and walked right up to a Sheriff as friendly as can be who took him to a nearby vet's office. The sheriff said that if no one claimed Cesar then he would have taken him. Cesar could be irritating at times but he was always a good dog, and a good friend. He will be sorely missed. I know for sure that in this life and the next he will always be my best friend and I'll be seeing him in my dreams. 'True friends are hard to come by. I wish people were more like animals. Animals don't try to change you or make you fit in. They just enjoy the pleasure of your company. Animals aren't conditional about friendships. Animals like you just the way you are. They listen to your problems, they comfort you when you're sad, and all they ask in return is a little kindness.' -Calvin and Hobbes October 21, 2015 Good day, fanfictioneers. Do you know what today is? Do you? Today is a very special day and you may or may not know it. Care to take a guess? Anyone? Do you know what makes today significant? Give up? Today is October 21, 2015 (duh!). But it's more than that, today is the day that Doc and Marty go to in Back to the Future: Part 2. Today is Back to the Future Day! So go celebrate by watching the trilogy and complaining about not having flying cars. (Hoverboards we have now, they're just not entirely practical yet.) Knight Writer 95 out December 20, 2015 Merry almost Christmas everyone! I'm writing to announce a Frozen/Five Nights at Freddy's crossover which entered my mind a little while ago. I'll admit to not playing the games but I do watch the videos, fan films, and theories on YouTube. Since both franchises are so popular I figured it might be a good idea to write a crossover. This fic will be a tag to my Fire and Ice series. As much as I love the characters and the OC's I created for the F&I Series, I am really getting tired of returning to it. I've already got ideas for six stories and they won't stop coming! Oh well, at least this crossover is a fic I am looking forward to writing. If you know a bit of lore about FNaF that you'd like to be included, please PM me and I'll see about putting it in. Thanks! Knight Writer 95 out December 25, 2015 Merry Christmas one and all! I hope you have all enjoyed this day with turkey, lamb, roast, or whatever it is you eat on this holiday. I unfortunately will not be publishing a Christmas special this year as has been my tradition because real life conspired to prevent it. But I wanted to get something out today so this is it. I wish I could do my usual special but it's just not possible. Hopefully I will be able to do so next year. For anyone interested I might be able to get out a new chapter in A Wish Upon a Star before the new year. That's all I have this time, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone. See you in 2016. Knight Writer 95 out February 2, 2016 Greetings, Fanfiction. Today's update is to let you all know that this semester will be horrible for updates from me. I have more reading and writing to do this semester than ever before so not nearly as much time can be put into my writing as I have been able to in the past. Hopefully I can still get a few chapters out but expect a dry spell until the summer. Thanks for the patience. Knight Writer 95 out 'Logic will get you from A to Z. Imagination will get you everywhere.' -Albert Einstein Here are a few of the TV shows, books, and movies that I like. Doctor Who Ten is awesome! He is hands down my favorite Doctor, David Tennant was just perfect in the role! I really really wish he had stayed longer, four years was not enough. I now miss Matt Smith as well as Peter Capaldi and am curious to see what Jodie Whittaker, the first actress to portray our favorite Time Lord (Lady) will bring to the role. Capaldi's last season was, in my opinion, his best and had some of the best speeches. Say what you will about Steven Moffat and the abomination that is season six, but the Capaldi era has shown that he understands the Doctor. It can all be summed in the speeches Twelve made about war and kindness in The Zygon Inversion and The Doctor Falls respectively. This is hands down my favorite TV show ever!!! I've never seen anything else quite like it on TV. I like both the Classic and New Who but I'll admit that some of the Seventh Doctor episodes are almost painful to watch for a die-hard Whovian like me. Every Doctor's outfit reflects something about his personality, most notably Six's fashion disaster frock coat reflecting his volatile and manic personality. If you don't know what Six's coat looked like and decide to look it up... don't blame me if you go color-blind. You have been warned. For those who already know, you have my sympathy. Have you seen the promotion photos BBC have released of Whittaker in costume? What do you think it says about her Doctor's personality? Sherlock I really like this series. Benedict Cumberbatch's performance as the titular sleuth is perfect! I am also terrified, though, because when he's bored he fires live ammunition at the wall. Who'd want a person like that for a flatmate? And of course, Martin Freeman as Watson is also very good. I like how he and Sherlock play off each other. And finally there's the stories. My gosh, I love them! The Hound of the Baskervilles is my favorite Holmes story and the updated Sherlock version was just fantastic! But now I'm going to have to make do with Elementary until around 2017. Why 2017 you ask? Because Cumberbatch is going to be Doctor Strange in another wave of movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and that will keep him very busy. AND MORIARTY'S BACK! I CAN'T WAIT TWO YEARS! HELP! Top Gear How does one describe a show like Top Gear? It's part car show, part buddy movie, part Monty Python. I'll admit it's arguable that it's starting to lose its edge but it's still a great show. And it's still much much better than Top Gear US. I always laugh when they do the news, the challenges are still creative but the hosts are still morons when they have to pick a car for driving across a third world country. You'd think by now at least one of them would go for a sturdy reliable pickup truck that's used by everyone else so parts are easy to find if it breaks down. But I wouldn't really change anything. I think the show still has a few good seasons left in it. Warehouse 13 This is one of those shows I can't get enough of. It's creative, original, has a great cast and you actually learn a bit about history along the way. BUT IT'S OVER! THEY CANCELED IT! WHY?!?!?!? The Librarians It's the new Warehouse 13. What more do I have to say? Saw the TV movie trilogy that started the franchise and rather enjoy them. The series is fun as well and the two seasons we have so far have been rather good. If you still miss Warehouse 13, find this series online and see if it doesn't lift your spirits some. Star Wars I love both trilogies (original is better than the prequel, though) and am a bit apprehensive about the new trilogy to be released by Disney (they'd better not kill Star Wars or a friend of mine is going to have their heads before I do). But Star Trek director JJ Abrams is directing the new trilogy so I have high hopes for it, especially when I heard he'd be using some practical special effects and not just CG the entire thing. What do you think? Will the new trilogy live up to the original or will we have another prequel trilogy disaster on our hands? Star Trek Live long and prosper. Love all the series, like the movies, especially the reboot, and really think we need another TV series. Which has finally happened! Discovery feels different to it's predecessors and the intro feels like it belongs in West World, not Star Trek, but I still like it well enough. It can't compete with TNG, though. No other Trek TV series can. Sherlock Holmes (movie) Watson: 'Get that thing out of my face.' Holmes: 'It's not in your face, it's in my hand.' Watson: 'Get what's in your hand out of my face.' Iron Man Rhodey: 'WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?' Tony: 'Hey Rhodey, I can see your house from here.' - From Stephenmats's The Invincible Iron Man Inspector Gadget The movie sucked but it was a childhood favorite (I was like... 8! Gimme a break!) so I gave it the reboot I thought it deserved on this site. Check it out! Harry Potter Ron: 'UP!' Broom knocks Ron in the nose. Harry snickers. Ron: 'Shut up.' Percy Jackson and the Olympians The books are great, the movies suck. I'm surprised they even made The Sea of Monsters into a movie after how disastrous The Lighting Thief was. Even more surprising to me was that the director was Chris Columbus who also directed the first two Harry Potter movies! I liked those movies! If you like the movies then you do not deserve to be part of the fandom! Stop breathing our air! The A-Team 'I love it when a plan comes together.' Knight Rider KITT is amazing! I want a car that can do all of that. MacGyver Does he ever pick up an actual weapon in that show? Ghostbusters 'Sometimes, sh*t happens, someone's gotta deal with it, and who you gonna call?' Terminator I like all three of the original movies, didn't like Salvation as much. I have yet to see Genisys but its score on Rotten Tomatoes really disappoints me. What it does have going for it, though, is Arnold Schwarzenegger reprising his role as a T-800 and the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith, in a role that's supposed to get bigger as the new trilogy progresses. If it progresses at all. I'm almost certain that'll cause an explosive increase of Terminator/Doctor Who crossover fanfics. And I think I'll be forever pissed that The Sarah Connor Chronicles was canceled on a cliffhanger. Somebody please kill the Fox network! Darkwing Duck 'Let's get dangerous!' TaleSpin I really like Baloo in that show. He's lazy and a bit of a slob but when push comes to shove and you're going up against Karnage and the air pirates, there's no one else I'd rather have to work with. DuckTales That was a fun show. I love how Huey, Louie, and Dewey would occasionally cause problems for Scrooge. And I also like Scrooge. He's a tightwad but you can't help but like him. He's a pinch penny but he understands the value of family. And it's BACK!!! Toy Story Trilogy I loved Toy Story growing up, Toy Story 2 was just as good and didn't just rehash the original, and Toy Story 3 gave a satisfactory conclusion. This is a great trilogy that I still watch unashamedly and will continue to watch far into the future. In fact, I was just about heartbroken when my old VHS tape (does anyone remember or even know what VHS tapes are anymore? Eh, I don't care.) copy of the first one was wrecked in the player. But now I have it on DVD and am all smiles again. Back to the Future Trilogy 'Roads? Where we're going we don't need... roads.' October 21, 2015 has come and gone and all we have are Nike powerlaces, hoverboards and virtual reality glasses, but no flying cars? I am officially mad at scientists. Iron Man: Armored Adventures I really like this show. The idea is nothing new but it's well done and the voices are great. I really hope Disney buying Marvel doesn't mean they're going to cancel the series. I want to know what happens to Gene after the Makluan invasion, I want to see more of Pepper kicking ass in the Rescue suit and I want to know how Team Iron Man's life is going to change now that everyone knows who they are. Also, can you say 'Pepperony'? It needs to officially happen before the series ends! If it doesn't then I am going to go nuts and bug some IMAA fanfictioneers. The Rocketeer The original series by Dave Stevens was brilliant, IDW Publishing did a decent job of continuing the series and the movie was not as watered down for a Disney film as I expected. I'm pissed about the lack of fanfiction for it though. Only one fic. ONE! I hear that there's a possible reboot in the works right now. Arrow Talk about a good show! This one has awesome written all over it. The characters are complex, there's plenty of action, very good drama, and I hope it lasts for a long time. And now it gets a tie-in to the upcoming 'Flash' TV show also to be on the CW. The Flash I was excited about this since I found out it was coming and it delivers! The writing is good, the characters are well developed, and there's some good humor here and there. It lacks the complexity of Arrow right now but that doesn't bother me a bit. It's still a good show and I hope it only gets better as time goes by. Frozen I'll admit that I didn't see this movie while it was in theaters, I just never got around to it. But after hearing all the good things about it I finally got it from Netflix and enjoyed it. I think it was way over hyped when it was released but it is still a very good movie and deserves to be recognized. The antagonist was not who I was expecting. In fact, I was expecting for there not to be an villain for the majority of the movie. But in hindsight I, as a history major, should have anticipated who the villain would be. He has the perfect motivation. If you hate this movie, something might be wrong with you. If you love it, go ahead. It deserves to be loved. I hope the sequel is just as good but it's Disney so chances are they're going to botch it and we'll want to kill them. Oh, and before I forget... JUST LET 'LET IT GO' GO! That song is fifty shades of wrong now, it's been done to death! Castle This show was recommended to me by a friend and I love it. The characters are fantastic, the stories engaging, the over-arching plots gripping, and I love the chemistry between the characters, especially Castle's relationship with his daughter and Beckett. I am glad that I was told about this show, it's just great! Once Upon a Time OK, I didn't watch this show when it first started because I was too busy watching America's Funniest Home Videos. But this show was recommended to me by the same person who turned me on to Castle and I was pleasantly surprised. Once Upon a Time delivers a very gripping take on all the Disney fairy tale characters we know and love. Everything is well thought out, it adds complexity to characters we know and is still telling their stories. The addition of Frozen in the last season did kind of feel like a marketing gimmick but the show finds ways to add more complexity to these characters as well. White Collar I've been watching this series episode by episode with my mother who became addicted to it after the first episode. And I can't say that I didn't become hooked either. If you've ever seen Catch Me if You Can with Tom Hanks and Leonardo DiCaprio, then this show is what happens after Abagnale becomes a consultant for the FBI. The characters in this show are memorable and with the exception of one or two, none of them are one-dimensional. The chemistry between the two main leads is great, to say the least. Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay excel in their roles and bring good tension, drama, and even humor to the table. The series is very well written, every season's plot is great and the finales never disappoint. I like this show so much, it became the second show ever that I have watched where I was reluctant to watch the last episode because I didn't want it to be over (the first was Warehouse 13). If you are a fan of Catch Me if You Can then odds are you will fall in love with White Collar. Heck, you might fall in love with it even if you aren't. Up This movie competes with the Toy Story trilogy for the position of my favorite Disney Pixar movie. The first ten minutes really are great, telling a heartwarming love story of two people as they grow up together, get married, and the rest of their life together. Though we don't see her for long, we all feel sad at the end of the first ten minutes when Carl loses his wife, Ellie. To quote a film critic (so please don't kill me!) Up told a better love story in ten minutes than Twilight did in three movies. The rest of the film is very creative with a wilderness scout, a talking golden retriever, Carl's childhood hero, and a brightly colored and likable bird. The entire movie is all for fun and fun for all. Give it a watch if you haven't already. Inside Out Whenever I see a trailer for an animated movie my mind automatically says 'I don't think I want to see that movie.' But Inside Out took me completely by surprise with a story that is brilliant, emotional, layered, and complex. It all adds up to a movie that I really want to see again. I'd go again tomorrow if I could, seriously, it's that good. I am positive that this will be one of those movies that you watch and love as a kid, then forget about for a while when you grow up, and then enjoy even more as an adult when you rediscover it. I am so sure of that because this movie, while animated, is more for adults than it is for kids. Not that kids won't enjoy it because I already said they will. What more can I say about this movie? It's funny, imaginative, a little bit sad, there was a lot of effort, research and work put into it and it shows. It's everything that we've come to expect from Pixar and is a breath of fresh air after Cars 2 and Monster's University. NOW WHY ARE YOU STILL READING MY PROFILE?! GO SEE THE MOVIE!!! Zootopia If you've looked at my stories, then you know I've been on a bit of a Frozen kick recently. It's a good movie and I give it kudos for focusing on the bond between two sisters more than anything else. It's been my favorite Disney movie but it is now challenged by Zootopia. This movie surprised me with how smart it was. It deals with the harsh reality that is racism in a clever way. Granted, it is heavy handed with the way it drills in its message but it's smart enough and funny enough that I'm willing to overlook it. While Pixar movies definitely have more nuance to them (Inside Out), Zootopia nonetheless stands out in the Disney canon with gorgeous animation, good humor, well developed characters, and a timely message that will never become irrelevant. Go see it if you haven't already. Heck, go see it again if you have watched it already. Wicked BEST MUSICAL I HAVE EVER SEEN! We've all seen The Wizard of Oz and do not root for the Wicked Witch of the West. But when we go to see this musical our understanding of the character and every other character in Oz is turned on its head. The play is well written, well performed, and absolutely blows me away with its superb music, especially Defying Gravity. If you haven't seen this play yet and are a fan of either the movie or the books, you have to see Wicked as soon as possible! I can guarantee you will love it. Calvin and Hobbes OH MY GOSH! Words cannot describe how much I love, love, this comic! It's my all time favorite comic ever. Period. I love everything about it and its outlook on life as seen through the eyes of a bratty imaginative 6-year old with a more adult view of things. The way the comic was drawn was brilliant! I can almost see Hobbes's tail twitching back and forth in some strips. If they ever make a movie out of this then I will go completely coo-coo for cocoa puffs. But if they turn it into a big budget sellout like The Cat in the Hat then I my reaction will be worse than the Nostalgia Critic's reaction to the Bat Credit Card scene in Batman and Robin! Movie makers, you have been warned. Over all the comic is funny, sad, heartwarming, imaginative, and it reminds us that it is indeed a magical world.
