Chapter 2

The ring fell onto the bed, Clark feeling the last of its effects fade a moment later. He blinked once, then twice. No, he wasn't dreaming. He was in a hotel room in Metropolis, and there were three very beautiful, very naked women standing in front of him. There was also a marriage certificate in his hand, and his signature was clearly visible next to Mazekeen's. Bo and Tamsin's own signature's were directly underneath.

"Fuck." He swore softly, and Maze laughed.

"Yes that is what we did last night. Over and over and over again." She said with a grin, and he blushed. He remembered every single detail of the previous night. The things he'd said and done...That had never happened before.

"Moving on...how the hell did we wind up married?" Tamsin asked, and Maze shook her head.

"I don't know. But I can tell you it's permanent. As in, never getting rid of permanent." She said, and Bo snorted.

"Okay, I admit that I have seen some strange stuff over the last couple of years, but marriages can be annulled. It happens all the time. Otherwise, half the college kids in this town would be hitched after prom night. All we have to do is call the Minister and-"

"Bo...Sweetheart. This wasn't some Elvis impersonator. This was Lucifer." Maze said, trying to keep the frustration out of her voice.

"Okay. So what's your point Mazekeen?" Bo asked.

"Do you remember what I said to Kal, I'm sorry, Clark last night? Right before we left the club?" She asked, and Bo's eyes widened.

"You're not human. None of us are human." She said, and Maze nodded.

"Right in one. Which means, normal human rules don't apply to us, especially when Lucifer is involved."

"So that quip your boss made last night about his name, about him being like the devil...He actually is the devil." Clark said, and Maze nodded.

"Yep. Prince of Darkness and everything. I'm his favorite demon. Well, I guess I'm yours now, huh?" She asked, licking her lips. Clark shivered, but not because he was cold. Bo's eyes flashed blue and Tamsin smirked.

"Before we do anything else, we need to talk. I seem to remember saying we'd talk in the morning. It's morning. So put on some clothes. We need to figure out how to fix this." Clark said, forcing himself to keep his eyes on the women's faces and off their spectacular bodies.

"There is no fixing anything. It is what it is. Didn't you understand a word I said? Or do you just not care?" Maze asked, anger clear in her voice. Mazekeen was pissed. She wasn't sure how they'd wound up married, but when she looked at that piece of paper, she'd felt warmth. Maybe even happiness. But apparently her new husband didn't agree.

"Or maybe, are we just not good enough? Last night, you said you were sick of having to hold back with weak little human girls. Change your mind now that that ring's not on your finger? Is that what it takes?" The demon asked, moving to pick up the ring.

The next second she found herself against the wall, her arms pinned above her head.

"That's not what I said. You think I didn't enjoy it? You think I don't love the idea of being married to someone who can understand what it's like not to be human? Someone who I don't have to worry about breaking because I squeeze too hard? Someone who won't look at me like I'm some kind of a freak? It's my deepest desire to find someone who could love me for me...all of me. The problem is we can't remember it! I remember every detail of last night except the four of us getting married. For all I know, none of you had a choice. Even if you did...it's not a choice you should have made. It'll only get you hurt, only get you killed."

Clark let out a breath and released Maze's wrists. Then he went and sat on the bed.

"Okay Clark. You've had your say. Now it's our turn." Bo said, and Tamsin nodded.

"I get that we don't know much about each other. But Tamsin and I have known each other for a while, and we can both say that no one makes us do something that we don't want to do."

"The Succubus makes it a rule not to take orders from anyone outside of the bedroom." Tamsin said with a grin.

"Me, I'm a Valkyrie. I don't answer to many people, and certainly not when it comes to my love life. And Maze...If half the stories I've heard about her are true, she only takes orders from one person...well, two now." Tamsin said, and Clark blushed, making the ladies grin.

"Lucifer is many things, but he doesn't make people do anything. If we signed that paper, it's because we wanted to,,,and so did you." Maze said, walking over and sitting next to him.

"Now, as far as us getting hurt or getting killed, let me tell you we can all handle ourselves." Bo said as she and Tamsin walked over and sat down on Clark's other side.

"I've learned to fight from people who have been around for hundreds of years...and no I am not exaggerating. Tamsin happens to be one of them, and Maze...How old are you anyway?" Bo asked, and Maze smiled.

"Old enough to remember when Rome was just a dream, and Ceaser not even a thought. I've been Lucifer's bodyguard and protector for a very long time. I don't know of anyone besides the devil himself and maybe his brother who could beat me. So don't worry about me Clark. Now tell us what or who this is really about."

He looked into each of their eyes, seeing the determination and care there. Then he nodded, and began his tale. He told them about how he was an alien, how he'd come to earth in a meteor shower and began developing abilities as he grew older. He told them about each of the meteor infected he'd had to stop. He told them about his fears and those of his parents. How he was terrified of being experimented on, of being used as a lab rat. He told them about Cassandra and her vision's, about Ryan and how he had almost died. He told them about his various encounters with Jor-El and what he had learned from Dr. Virgil Swann. Lastly, he told them about losing Kyla, and how his mistake had cost his parent's their unborn child.

"That's why I put the ring on and came to Metropolis. I wanted to feel something besides pain."

"And did you?" Bo asked, her smirk making it clear that the question was rhetorical.

"You know I did. So what now, and don't just say more sex. Unfortunately, the rest of us actually have to eat." He quipped.

"Well then, let's get food. Unless you want to keep me here and have your way with me again." Maze said, and Clark smiled.

"Maybe later. For now, let's get food and talk to the devil. I think Luci's got some splaining to do." He said, and Tamsin groaned.

"Too much?" Clark asked, and she nodded.
