A/N: So I was rewatching The Fast and the Furious and I had an idea for this story. Takes place a few days after Chuck is told he's going to be an asset but is post Fast Five. For the sake of the story, Brian and Mia never got back together.
Burbank California
"I'm sorry, General. But I won't be helping you or giving you anything. Not while you sit there in your office in D.C. and think that you can treat me like a piece of equipment that you own. I'm a man who loves my country. But I will not be treated as though I am an enemy of the state or some kind of unwilling tool."
"Bartowski show some-"
"Shut it Casey. Now, I would strongly advise that you and Sarah leave. This next part isn't for you two. You've just been soldiers in all this. General, you on the other hand have tried to violate my civil rights. That isn't something my family and I will take lightly." Chuck said, and the General pursed her lips. She was not accustomed to being spoken to in this manner, particularly by a civilian. Chuck needed to be reminded of who was in control.
"Mr. Bartowski, I do not know what delusions you are operating under, but make no mistake. You will comply or I will-"
"Be thrown into Leavenworth. They still do that, you know. Hello Diane. Long time no see."
"Nobody." She said quietly, anger filling her voice.
"Mr. Nobody, at your service. Major Casey, Agent Walker, it's a real pleasure to meet you both. I've read a lot of good things. Seen a few even. Oh, but where are my manners? Let me introduce you to my friends. The man next to me is Dominic Torreto, and this charming woman is-"
"Mia."
Chuck spoke her name softly, almost reverently. He walked over and pulled her close, taking her face in his hands and kissing her softly.
"I've missed you."
"I've missed you too." She replied, kissing him again.
Then she reached back and slapped him in the face.
"What the hell have I told you about opening emails from douchebags who tried to break us up?" She asked, and he winced.
"I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking."
"No duh. You're a freaking genius, but some days it's like you've got Nos for brains, kid." Dom said, walking over and giving the younger man a one-armed hug.
"Thanks for coming." Chuck said, and Dom nodded.
"We always take care of family."
"Not that this reunion isn't touching but-"
"Diane, shut up. I've just spent the last hour briefing the President on the complete flustercluck that you idiots have been running. Do you honestly think that the President would condone treating an American as some kind of indentured servant? It's never going to happen."
"The Intersect is the property of-"
"One Charles Irving Bartowski. It's inside his head. To declare it our property would be tantamount to declaring him property, and slavery was outlawed hundreds of years ago. Now, the way I see it we've got two choices. Option one, we take Chuck and leave. Dom's got this great island with no extradition."
"We can relax until the intelligence in your head becomes useless. Or until I wear you out. Whichever comes first." Mia said, and Chuck smiled.
"That sounds like an amazing idea."
"Option two is that my people come in. We supervise and make sure you don't get any stupid ideas about putting Chuck in a black site or having him assassinated by Major Casey here. Not that you would do that of course Major. But other than a few basic requirements, we'll be hands off. You provide the mission, and Chuck and the team will get it done."
"I'm supposed to believe that a man who spends his days at a Buymore and his evenings playing videogames and a couple of street racers are going to be part of my team?"
"Let me tell you a little bit about these guys. They successfully caught Arturo Braga, who I believe Agent Walker and her team were on the trail of until that mess with Gaiez and the team was dissolved. Then they go to Rio and take Hernan Reyes for….how much was it Dom?"
"A hundred million dollars."
"That's right. A hundred million. They're effective. Efficient. But above all else, they're non-negotiable. Now, I'm sure you have some calls to make in some futile attempt to change things so we'll give you time to waste. Chuck, feel like lunch? It's on me."
"Sounds great. Coming baby?" He asked Mia, and she grinned.
"I'll drive."
"That's my girl."
Sarah and Casey just stood there motionless for a moment.
"Damn. Who knew Bartowski had it in him?" Casey asked, and Sarah just shook her head.
What had just happened?
A/N: So this story just happened to cross my mind after I remembered that Jordana Brewster played Mia Torreto before she played Jill Roberts. I may continue, or I may leave it as a one shot. Please let me know what you think.
