A/N: So I was thinking about Mass Effect and Chuck when this idea popped into my head! This is more of a teaser...If you all enjoy, I may continue.

"Get down!"

The woman ducked, just as a bolt of blue energy slammed into the alien behind her. It was a perfect headshot. The alien fell to the floor, dead. She looked up, seeing the man standing in front of her.

"Thanks for the save...Commander."

"You're welcome...Commander."

"Guess I owe you one."

"Glad I could help. Now how about we send these aliens back home in pieces? That is, if you wouldn't mind a partner?"

In a small apartment in Washington D.C. Sarah Walker hesitated. Her mind flashed back to her last partner. Bryce Larkin. Spy, asshole, and cheating bastard extraordinaire. She never did find out what that intel that cocktail waitress supposedly had. Bryce had left, and reported to the Director. He had then asked if she wanted to spend their two week vacation together. She had thrown a knife at him, and left. That was a week ago. He had complained to their boss. That was what had led her here. Alone, in her apartment with an xbox and a series called Mass Effect. She was suspended until some shrink cleared her. Lovely. She had seen the video game on her way home, and given that she had been given orders not to leave D.C. it seemed like a good break from reality.

Of course, she had accidentally gotten the new multiplayer setup and found herself in the middle of some kind of survival mode, with her mic on no less. In her defense, the last game she had played was Mario.

"Never mind, I'll...leave you to it."

The voice came through the game system, pulling Sarah from her thoughts. Even through the somewhat crummy television speakers, it sounded dejected.

"No. Actually, I could use a partner. I've never actually played this game before. I honestly meant to go to the campaign, but this guy I bought the game from said this was the best one and...I'm spiraling aren't I?"

"No more than I do. C'mon, I'll show you the ropes. Unless you'd rather I just tell you how to start the campaign?"

Sarah thought about it. Going back to the campaign was probably a good idea. The last thing she needed was to talk to some random stranger in a video game. However, this person whoever he was, seemed nice. She hadn't met many nice guys, and it would only be until the end of the match.

"Let's go kill some aliens."

A/N: So obviously, the multiplayer on Mass Effect doesn't work that way. But it's fanfiction. I hope you all enjoyed, and let me know if I should continue.
