A/N: So I'm almost done with Batwoman season 2, and after seeing the craziness that happened in the Batcave, I thought about what if things had gone a little differently?

Batcave

"Ryan's been arrested."

On the outside, the woman wearing the face of Kate Kane kept a worried expression. Inside her mind, Cersei Sionous was smiling. Her plan was going perfectly. She turned in the room, smiling at the child representing Kate Kane's shattered psyche.

"It's time for you to go now. I'm in control don't worry...I'll give Sophie a kiss right before I kill her."

She shoved the girl into the closet, moving to slam the door. Then she stepped back, blood pooling from her nose.

"You're trespassing. Now get the hell out of my head you crazy bitch."

Kate didn't give Cersei time to respond. She followed up the punch to her nose with a kick to her ribcage and a hard right cross to her jaw, knocking the other woman out cold.

"And don't even think about kissing my girlfriend."

"KATE! KATE!"

Kate Kane opened her eyes, seeing Sophie, Mary and Luke standing over her.

"I'm okay guys. I just had to send Cersei packing." She said, accepting Mary's hand up.

"Luke, can you double-check my suit please? Mary, we don't know what kind of shape Ryan's going to be in so set this place up as best you can. Sophie…"

Kate trailed off, grabbing Sophie by her jacket and kissing her hard.

"I missed you. I'm sorry I lied to you."

"I missed you too. I'm glad you're back. We can talk about everything later, but right now we need to go save Ryan. I'm coming with you. Don't even think of arguing with me." Sophie said, and Kate smiled.

"I wouldn't dream of it. Luke, is it where you left it?" She yelled.

"It's right next to your's." He called back.

"What is?" Sophie asked.

"I thought you might decide you wanted a different uniform sometime, so I asked Luke to modify a suit for you."

"One of Bruce's?"

"No. His first partner was named Dick Grayson. He started out as Robin."

"Are you seriously asking me-"

"He started out as Robin, but eventually he took on his own identity. He called himself Nightwing."

Next to Kate suit was another. Except where Kate and Ryan's suits were red and black, this suit was black with a blue bird across the chest.

"I modified it so it'll fit you. No wig though." Luke said handing her a black mask to cover her eyes. Sophie laughed, taking the mask.

"Suit up. We leave in three minutes." Kate said, and Sophie nodded.

She remembered hearing about Nightwing, about all the good he'd done. She made a silent promise to honor his legacy.

GCPD

"Ryan Wilder, let's go. Your time's up."

Two of the guards walked in, grabbing her by the arms and taking her out before her parole officer could say anything. Clearly these guys were Black Masks thugs, and judging by the number of men in the hall, they weren't alone.

Ryan knew she was done. She was good, but there were too many for her to take alone. She'd try her best though. The next instant, the lights went out. Ryan didn't hesitate. She threw her head back, catching a guard in the face and hearing his nose break. Then she felt the pressure leave her arms as the two men holding her lost consciousness.

"I heard you could use some help." Batwoman said to her.

"Batwoman."

"Batwoman." She replied, handing Ryan a package.

"Go get changed. We got this." Batwoman said, turning and leaping into the fight.

"Who's we?" Ryan asked, ducking as a guard landed hard on the floor behind her.

Her question was answered as she saw a woman in a black mask with a blue bird across her chest wielding a pair of escrima sticks with great efficiency.

"Sophie?" She whispered.

The woman grinned at her,, ducking an incoming punch before slamming her escrima stick into one man's jaw. He went down, unconscious.

"You must be Ryan. I'm Nightwing."

She caught the wrist of another guard, flipping him over and sending him into three of his friends.

Ryan decided to stop asking questions and go get changed. She smiled as she opened the package, seeing her batsuit inside.

"Ryan?" Her parole officer asked, and Ryan shook her head.

"Batwoman."

When she walked out, she saw that Kate and Sophie had indeed taken care of the guards.

"Thanks for the save. It's good to see you back Kate. Once this is done I'll give the suit back and-"

"The suit is your's. You earned it. You've done a great job. Now, I have to ask...Do you think this town is big enough for two Batwomen?"

"I think so. Luke mentioned Batman had like ten people in this city at one point. Nice suit Nightwing."

"Thanks. Now that we've all met, how about we go and drag Black Mask to Blackgate?"

A/N: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! So, a couple of points. I've liked Batwoman season 2, but I still wish Kate could be there. Sophie suiting up makes sense to me as I think that's what they're going to eventually do anyway now that she's not a crow. As for why I chose Nightwing, I kind of viewed it like Yolanda being Wildcat on Stargirl. It's a legacy that she's continuing, and making Sophie Batgirl wasn't something I wanted to do.
