"Drac, I can't believe how calm you are about her leaving," Frank remarked as he looked out the window. "I'm proud of you."
Dracula didn't seem to answer that statement.
"...Drac? Drac?" Frank then asked before looking over and looked around, suddenly seeing that the adult vampire was gone. "Where did Drac go?"
"Ugh," Cherry then groaned and slapped her forehead with her hand. "Don't tell me he just came up with a plan to lure her back here and never wanna go back to the human world ever again or something like that."
"Okay, I won't tell you." replied Lionel.
Cherry glanced at him in response.
"What? You said not to tell you." Lionel defended.
"Fair enough," Cherry rolled her eyes slightly before sighing. "She seems like such a nice girl... Dracula must be hiding something from his daughter if he's so hellbent on this, even though he decided to let her go out into the world." she then theorized.
"That, or he's a very overprotective parent." Lionel replied.
"There has to be a reason for it... Other than just being an overprotective father." Cherry suggested.
"We're a bit concerned about Drac ourselves actually." Wanda spoke up.
"Yeah, maybe you are, I dunno about all of us." Wayne whispered to himself.
"Well, given time, we're probably going to find out sooner or later." Lionel stated.
"So... Not that it's any of my business, what are you two?" Wayne asked.
"Excuse me...?" Cherry asked.
"Wayne!" Wanda chided her husband a bit.
"No, no, no, it's okay, Wanda, I'm sure it's okay," Wayne told her before facing Cherry and Lionel. "I mean, no offense, but you two seem kinda... I dunno... Human-ish."
"Well, believe it or not, we're not exactly human." Cherry defended.
"Allow me to demonstrate!" Lionel replied. "Apologies beforehand if you get freaked out." He then unscrewed his own head and placed it on the nearby bookshelf.
"See?" Lionel's head asked. "Does that look human to you?"
The other monsters looked wide-eyed and jaw-dropped while Cherry just stood there, unfazed as she was used to that.
"...Okay, you win that one," Wayne told Lionel before looking at Cherry. "And how about you?"
"Oh... I'm nothing much... Except for these babies." Cherry said before she put her fingers against her lips and lifted them up over her teeth to show that she had fangs.
"Whoa... Are you a vampire like Drac?" Wayne then asked.
"It's a very long story, but yes," Cherry nodded. "I don't drink blood all the time, but only if I absolutely need to in order to get some strength back if I'm weakening."
"That's where I come in~" Lionel replied as he popped off an arm and it crawled over to Cherry.
Cherry looked over and took his arm.
"Thirsty?" Lionel asked.
"Well... It was a long ride over..." Cherry replied as she looked down at his arm before looking at the monsters. "You don't mind, do you?"
The monsters reassured her that it was fine and it was probably not too much unlike anything they hadn't seen before.
Cherry nodded at them before she hissed and her eyes turned beady red as her fangs grew in her mouth before she bent her head down and bit down hard on Lionel's arm to take some of his blood to make herself a bit stronger in case anything would probably happen. "I should keep up my strength," she then told them. "You never know if something might happen to this hotel and I need to put my adventurous lifestyle at stake. You see, I'm an adventurer."
"Ah, I see," nodded Frank. "Mind sharing a few adventures with us in the meantime?"
"Sure..." Lionel chuckled, his eyes spinning in his skull. "We don't mind~"
"Gee... I wouldn't know where to start," Cherry shrugged before she sucked up some blood, but didn't take too much as she wasn't that thirsty, though some of it dripped down onto the floor. "...I'll clean that up later." she then suggested for herself.
"Yeah... Okay!" Lionel giggled, feeling a bit tipsy.
Cherry then finished, letting Lionel take his arm back. Lionel accepted it as he nodded at her in a brief daze.
"Well, for whatever reason, I was chosen to go on certain adventures to help people," Cherry began to tell the monsters in front of her. "It all started when I met my lifelong friend Atticus and we met Cinderella, but I don't think you'd be that invested in that story..." she then said as they were monsters and fairy tales probably weren't in their line of interest, though she would continue if they wanted her to.
"I think Mr. Dracula's gonna be busy for a while, so we've got time." Hank replied.
"For those of you who wanna know, go read the story yourself; it should be on PerkyGoth14's Fanfiction page..." Lionel replied as he conjured up a smoothie. "In the meantime, I gotta get my blood sugar back to normal..."
"PerkyGoth14?" Wayne asked. "That sounds like a lazy username... I hope that 14 doesn't mean she is 14."
"Let's just say the number 14 means a little something to the creator," Cherry remarked. "And I wouldn't be judging her too much right now if I were you, she doesn't react to flames in such a way."
"Flames?!" Frank asked nervously.
"Different kind of flames, Frank," Cherry told him. "They're still bad, but not like the ones you're thinking of."
"Long story," Lionel said in between his sips. "But anyways, it all started a long time ago..."
"In a universe far, far away," Cherry replied. "I was born to my parents and little did I know, I was born into a legacy about going on adventures for almost my whole entire life."
The monsters nodded as they sounded amazed and surprised so far. Cherry then told them all about the adventures she had faced, especially after meeting her nearly lifelong friend by the name of Atticus Fudo, who nowadays was best known as Ace Detective: Atticus James Fudo. She mentioned how she went on adventures to fairy tales, a park that was filled with living and breathing dinosaurs, of course mentioning a few other adventures, especially meeting her very good and dear friend: Sabrina Spellman. There were even more and that was just the beginning.
"And eventually... I met Lionel for the first time," Cherry then said. "Apparently he was a big fan of my work for a while before he came on board for some of these adventures."
"Yep," Lionel replied. "Sure, we didn't hit it off the first few times... The only hit was me, with a flyswatter, because everyone keeps assuming I'm a bug or a pig for some reason... Even though I've never squealed or snorted... Or buzzed."
"You've squealed a few times, a bit more than you would like to admit," Cherry smirked, making him blush in response. "But yeah... I wasn't sure what to make of him, but... I guess he eventually wore me down and he became a member of my little team."
"And then, we became like a family," Lionel exclaimed. "...And then, an actual family."
"Maybe more in the future." Cherry said slightly to herself as she seemed to be hiding something.
Lionel looked curious, but decided not to pry until Cherry was ready as he knew better than to jump in and advance just like that right away.
"You kids have been through a lot..." Wayne noted before smirking. "And yet you live to tell these tales."
"Call it dumb luck or a second chance, but yeah," Cherry shrugged. "Now we're all grown up and spread out and only time will tell how long our adventures will last and if our kids will even go through the same thing once they become the age we were once we started these adventures."
"Better than Pooh Bear and the gang." Hank muttered to himself slightly.
"Haaah!" Lionel guffawed. "Luckily our adventures have better editing..."
"Editing?" Wayne asked.
"Long story." Cherry replied.
After some time passed, Cherry and Lionel shared some more adventures with their new monster friends, all laughing together after sharing another story with the monsters.
"And then, we sent Old Kalabar running all the way out of Halloween Town and saved The Other Realm for everyone!" Cherry then said before laughing, sharing one of her tales with Lionel when they visited Halloween Town one year after a certain someone had been taken and kidnapped.
The monsters all laughed as that sounded like a lot of fun and quite the experience.
"Yeah... Halloween Town was probably one of my favorite adventure spots to visit," Cherry smirked before shrugging. "Who knows if I'll ever go back again after those two visits with Atticus and Lionel?" she then looked out the window to see a certain bat flying by. "Looks like someone's back home after her night out."
"A bit shorter than I expected," Lionel replied. "But hopefully that means the trip went well."
"I hope so too." Cherry nodded.
Mavis soon went straight to her room and that prompted Dracula to go check on her.
"Where you been? Why you sneaking around?" The shrunken head asked Dracula as he came to the door.
Dracula shushed the shrunken head and then gently called for his daughter. "Shh. Quiet," he told the head before gently calling and knocking on the door. "Sweetheart, have you returned so soon?" he then asked, though he sounded almost like he had expected that.
"Oh. Come in, Dad." Mavis pouted from her bed as her father came in to check on her.
"How'd it go?" Dracula asked as he came to see his daughter. "How was the big world? How was it out there?"
"It was okay, Dad." Mavis said, not looking at him.
"What? What's the matter?" Dracula asked before sitting next to her on the bed.
Mavis sighed before she gave in as she hugged her knees sadly. "Dad, you were right. Humans are awful. They were everything you said," she then told him. "They wanted to bite my toes."
"Your toes?" Dracula asked curiously.
"And they had garlic on bread." Mavis then added, as that sounded like a fate worse than death.
"What?! Look at me. I'm getting goosebumps, I'm so scared!" Dracula replied as he rubbed his arms, almost shivering before he approached her as she looked out the window sadly. "I'm so sorry, sweetheart. I hate that you had to see that."
"I'm so sorry I doubted you," Mavis emotionally told him before hugging him. "I'll never leave here again."
Dracula frowned before enveloping her in his cape to hug her back and comfort her. "Okay. Okay. Look, Daddy's going to make you the bestest birthday ever," he then said before he brought out a plate of a stack of pancakes, smothered in syrup and crawling with worms. "Look what I brought you. Your wormcakes. Don't be sad anymore. Remember, this is the year we open Mommy's present for you." he then suggested.
"What did she get me?" Mavis asked hopefully.
"We'll see. She said never to open until you're 118," Dracula replied before smiling warmly as he backed away to head out the door. "We've waited this long. You eat your wormcakes. You come down whenever you're ready, honey," he then left the room and closed the door before breathing a sweet sigh of relief. "Phew..."
"Ooh. What did you do?" The shrunken head then asked with a small smirk.
"What I had to." Dracula narrowed his eyes.
"Mm-hmm... Yeah, that's what the guy who shrunk my head said." The shrunken head retorted with a small smirk.
Dracula narrowed his eyes before he took the shrunken head and shoved some paper into its mouth to shut it up before he stalked off. "She'll thank me one day." he then muttered to himself as he walked back off into the lobby.
Cherry sipped some tea she was given, though she looked like she was trying to hide something.
"Something seems to be on your mind..." Wanda said to Cherry. "Care to share?"
"Oh... I don't know..." Cherry said bashfully. "You all seem like good friends, but... We hardly know each other."
"It couldn't hurt." Eunice replied with a shrug.
Cherry's eyes widened as she bit her lip and her eyes darted around in an Applejack telling a lie fashion.
"Girl talk?" Lionel asked Cherry.
"...If you don't mind," Cherry replied. "I think I'll spend some quiet girl talk time with the ladies, but I promise I'll come back to you soon."
"Eh, okay," Lionel shrugged. "I'll go find something to eat in the meantime."
Cherry nodded at him. The other monster guys decided to go with Lionel while Cherry would be alone with the monster women.
"So, what's going on?" Wanda asked. "I can smell something different about you."
"Well... I don't know for sure, but... I have this feeling," Cherry started to tell the monster women. "You all have to promise me you won't make a big deal out of it or tell your husbands, especially Lionel."
They each mimed zipping their lips... Although with Eunice, it was genuine. Cherry chuckled a bit as she put her hand behind her mouth.
"So come on... Tell us," Wanda urged. "This sounds interesting."
Cherry was about to say something before looking over. "...Griffin, are you here too and you're just not saying anything so you seem like you're not here?" she then asked suspiciously.
"...No?" Griffin responded.
Cherry followed the source of his voice before hipping him out of the way with a smirk.
"Augh! You women are so violent sometimes!" Griffin complained as he crashed. "You better not have broken my glasses!"
"All right," Cherry said as she came back over to the monster women before she took a deep breath in, let it out, and decided to let out her big secret. "I'm not 100% sure yet, but... I think I might be expecting something... Or rather someone."
"Whatya mean?" Eunice asked, briefly unzipping her lips.
Cherry's eyes darted around before she looked back at them. "...Again, I'm not positive, but... I think I might be having a baby soon." she then revealed to them.
"Ooooh~!" They gushed in surprise.
"Shh!" Cherry shushed and her eyes darted around as she cupped her mouth bashfully.
"Well... Your secret is safe with us," Wanda replied. "Do any of your other friends know?"
"I don't even know myself, so I'm not sure," Cherry shrugged. "It's our honeymoon after all, but I'm also not sure how I'd tell him."
"Oh, I get that," Wanda nodded. "You should've seen Wayne's face when I told him we were expecting a litter very soon."
"How long ago was that?" asked Cherry.
"Last week," Wanda replied. "This is gonna be our second litter."
Cherry blinked with wide eyes.
"We really get around as a species." Wanda grinned and winked.
"...So I see," Cherry replied. "Congratulations and good luck."
Wanda nodded before sighing as she could tell she would really need it.
Dracula soon left the elevator and sighed as he strode into his lobby with the other monsters as a zombie bellhop approached him with a human mask, groaning at him and trying to impress him.
"Yes, what do you want, a cookie? You did all right, man," The vampire rolled his eyes before shooing him away. "Move on already."
Eventually, someone new stumbled into the hotel lobby.
"Oh, look. Someone new's coming over," Cherry remarked. "I wonder if it's anybody I know?"
The others shrugged as they weren't sure as the new person came into a lobby, though there was something very strange about him, especially compared to the monsters in the hotel, but that was just it... He wasn't a monster.
"Is it me, or does that guy look... Non-monstery?" asked Lionel as he came back into the room, licking his fingers.
"...Maybe he's the worst kind of monster person..." Cherry said.
The others looked at her as she suddenly had a dramatic zoom on her face.
"Maybe he's a... British tourist." Cherry then concluded her out loud thought.
"Ah... Nope; his teeth look decent." Lionel replied as he now held a magnifying glass.
"Hmm..." Cherry paused thoughtfully as she looked like she suddenly had something on her mind.
Dracula looked wide-eyed and horrified once he saw the stranger who came to Hotel Transylvania. "A human!" he then gasped before glaring and lunging out, flying right toward the young man and sent him spinning around in the revolving door. "Who are you? And how did you find this place?" he demanded firmly to the foolish mortal.
"Oh, I'm Jonathan," The young man said and explained with an oblivious smile. "And I was just mountain climbing with some dudes and heard this story about a spooky forest. And who's not going to go into a spooky forest, right?" he then rhetorically asked before going on. "So, then I see these goofy-looking dudes on fire, and I just kind of followed them to this, like, amazing castle, but, of course, be smart. No bonfires, no firework shows." he then continued.
"...How many of you are there?" Dracula asked then.
"Just me," Jonathan then said with a small smile. "I like to hit it alone. You meet so many awesome people in the youth hostels," he then reached out and touched Dracula's cape. "Hey, speaking of awesome, that cape thing is killing it. Is there, like, a costume party here?" he then asked.
"Oh, no...!" Dracula exclaimed. "This is all my fault! You have to leave, NOW!"
However, before he could step out the front doors with the mortal boy, there were other monsters coming over so that they could stay over and saw The King of Vampires himself out front. "Oh, no."
"Excuse me?" A woman spoke up from the crowd as she approached the vampire manager. "One of your piranhas in the lake is very rude. He ate my sister-in-law."
"Be right with you." Dracula told her with a nervous grin before dashing off back inside the castle, running through the lobby while trying to keep Jonathan hidden from all of the other monsters.
"Mr. Dracula, we asked for a room with a view of the pool." One hydra head spoke up to him.
"The room's fine. We want to book a massage." A second agreed.
"Yes, Swedish." A third replied.
"Shiatsu." A fourth countered.
"Aromatherapy."
"Lower back."
"Do you have hot stone?"
"We want a massage."
"I'll get back to you, Mr. Hydraberg." Dracula reassured while he kept trying to hide with Jonathan in his grip.
"I hope so." A head replied.
"I doubt it." A second head retorted.
"See that you do." The third warned.
"That's Ms. Hydraberg," The fourth head then corrected. "Thanks."
Dracula nodded as he kept running for his life with Jonathan. "Yes, nice to see you."
"Dude, seriously, what's up?" Jonathan complained from where he was stuck. "It's kind of funky to breathe under here."
"Drac. Hey, Drac. How'd it go with Mavey?" Frank smiled and asked once he saw his vampire friend before he suddenly disappeared. "Hey. Where'd you go?" he then asked as his vampire friend seemed to just disappear suddenly.
"Something is not right around here." Cherry remarked as she put her hands on her hips.
"Aye," Lionel replied. "You get the feeling Drac is hiding something? Again?"
"I guess you could call it a sixth sense." Cherry shrugged.
"Whatever it is, we'd better investigate," Lionel declared firmly. "Who knows what might happen if we didn't?"
"I dunno, but let's go right now since we have nothing else to do." Cherry replied.
"Right." Lionel agreed before they both suddenly turned into bats and decided to check on Dracula along with the newest hotel visitor.
