At the high school, Kevin was setting up his keyboard while Julie seemed distracted.
"Julie, here; listen to this," said Kevin as he began playing more music on the Cosmic Key, which he'd somehow rigged to his keyboard. "Whaddya think?"
Julie smiled. "Sounds great."
"Okay. I want to see what this thing can really do," Kevin said, arranging the Cosmic Key before taking out the microphone. "Test, test, test. Hello, test. Here, hold that." he then told her.
"What are you going to do?" Julie wondered. "I'm going to amp this baby up. See how it sounds."
Julie smiled and waited patiently.
"All right, are you ready?" Kevin smiled as he got ready.
Julie nodded. "Mm-hmm."
"Hold on..." Kevin made a quick adjustment. "Alright, here goes." He pressed a key, and a musical chime could be heard, and the key began to rotate.
There also seemed to be glowing and colorful light from the key's activation.
"Wow..." Kevin smiled, a bit entranced by the light.
"I can't believe this!" Julie gushed.
Back in Castle Greyskull...
"Override complete..." said a robotic servant. "We're locking in on the key's source of origin."
"Very good, excellent," replied Evil-Lyn.
"You're too easily pleased, Evil-Lyn," replied Skeletor. "Have you forgotten that time is of the essence? SHOW ME!"
A screen soon appeared to show the black vacuums of space, showing a map of the Earth before showing where in the world He-Man and the others were.
"There! That's close enough," Skeletor said as the map stopped to show a target-locked symbol on a building before facing Evil-Lyn. "Have you assembled the mercenaries?"
"Here, and awaiting your command; I have selected your finest warriors," Evil-Lyn replied before introducing the four, one-by-one. "Blade. Saurod. The Beastman. And Karg."
"Actually, it's just 'Beast Man'." stated Beast Man.
"Funny," snorted Tri-Klops. "She says she picked the finest warriors and yet none of us got picked besides Beast Man."
"I smell favoritism." replied Trapjaw.
"Hmm... A curious quartet," Skeletor remarked to his warriors. "He-Man and She-Ra have slipped away from me. I want them back. This must happen before moonrise," he then began to instruct. "Now, you are to go through to this world to where they are hiding. Find the Key. Do as you wish with the others, but bring He-Man back alive. You do understand?"
"Yes, Lord." The four chorused in obedience.
"Good," Skeletor nodded from that. "Open the door. Do not fail me."
Meanwhile, Kevin and Julie were still impressed.
"I... I can't believe this thing," remarked Kevin. "I mean, didja see those lights, huh? Look, we gotta take this down to Charlie. He... He's gotta know what this is."
"No, you go ahead," said Julie. "This sounds really strange, but I kinda want to spend some time here alone; say goodbye to the place. I'm not gonna be here for graduation."
"Look, look, Julie," said Kevin. I'll just go by Charlie's later, okay?"
"No, no, go ahead, I promise." replied Julie.
"Are you sure?"
"Okay, all right. I'll be gone 15 minutes tops, all right?" Kevin then gave in. "Don't let anybody in here except Carl."
"All right." Julie nodded.
They shared a kiss before splitting up momentarily.
"You hear me?" Kevin continued.
"I'll guard this stuff for you." Julie smiled.
"All right, 'bye." Kevin smiled back as he began to leave.
Julie watched Kevin leave, then she glanced at her locket: inside it were pictures of her mother and father. Suddenly, she heard a loud WHOOSH from nearby. Outside the gym and in the school hallway, several of Skeletor's troopers emerged, led by Blade, riding atop Panthor.
Julie slowly approached the doors. "...Carl?" she asked nervously.
An inter-dimensional portal appeared with visitors in the gym who were of course not Carl.
"Carl, is that you?" Julie called, coming toward the double doors with concern.
Other voices were heard.
"Blade!"
"Yes, sir, no sign of the Key."
"Scan the perimeter! No one in, no one out!"
"Kevin, if this is some kind of joke, it's really not funny." Julie frowned firmly.
The bounty hunters got by the door and prepared to attack just as Carl the janitor entered from the side.
"Listen, you kids can't just come in-" Carl started.
The bounty hunters then attacked the man before he could finish that statement.
"Don't kill him yet!" Blade called out.
Beast Man growled as they continued to pummel the janitor and soon flung him out to the doors. Julie screamed in terror as Blade drew out his swords and the group rushed into the gymnasium.
"Leave him alone!" Julie shouted as they advanced on the janitor. As she made a run for it, Karg took out his blaster and narrowly missed Julie, blowing up a part of the decorations.
"Somebody help me! Somebody help me!" The girl cried out.
"No! No! Take her alive!" Blade told the others as Julie ran for her life. "She may know where the Key is! That way! Go around!"
The group raced after Julie as she hid behind an amp. She crawled behind a curtain, but Beast Man ripped it apart.
"Grr, I found her!" Beast Man snarled.
"No!" Julie cried out as she crawled and ducked away with fear. "Let go! Stay away from me! Let go!" Even with all her efforts, the evil group seemed unstoppable.
"Get her! Find her!" yelled Karg as they ran from the gymnasium, which soon caught on fire.
Julie soon crawled under the stage.
"She's mine!" A voice grinned as two swords stabbed through the stage, but luckily, missing her.
Julie managed to climb out from under the stage, and splashed a bottle of cleaning chemicals in Beast Man's face, blinding him.
"GRAAAAAGH!" Beast Man roared. "I can't see!"
Julie used this distraction to beat a hasty retreat from the burning gym, and soon the fearsome foes were right behind her.
Meanwhile, Adam and Adora were with the others, using the trackers, when they heard Julie's cries for help.
"Looks like it's our time to shine, Sis." said Adam, pulling out the Sword of Power.
Adora nodded to that.
"By the power of Grayskull..." Adam began as he lifted his sword high to become He-Man. "I HAVE THE POWER!"
"For the honor of Grayskull..." Adora added as she lifted her sword into the air. "I... AM... SHE-RA!"
"Accept no substitutes!" Lionel replied, before shooting a glare at the camera. "Lookin' at you, Netflix and DreamWorks!"
He-Man and She-Ra looked confused of the references.
"Never mind that for now, I think we ougta help that poor girl." Sabrina said as she used her magic to turn her in her warrior form as seen in Sabrina: The Animated Series' episode Xabrina: Warrior Witch.
"Ooh, if only Harvey could see you now." Cherry smirked.
"Yeah, he'd probably go bonkers," Lionel chuckled. "Now let's get moving!"
Meanwhile, Julie ran for her life down an alleyway, until she came to a padlocked gate.
"Poor confused girl." Cherry commented.
"Help me! Help me!" Julie cried out as she kept on running. "Somebody help me! Oh, God, help!" she then opened up the gate to keep hiding.
"She's in there! This way!" Blade called out to his army. "She's in here somewhere! Find her!"
Julie kept on running, until she bumped smack into He-Man, and screamed in terror.
"Hey... It's okay," said He-Man. "We won't hurt you; you're safe. Now what are you running from?"
Julie looked nervous as she glanced in the direction of the Evil Warriors, who were approaching swiftly. "I'm running from these, these... Monsters..." she managed to say before she cried a bit more.
"Easy, easy," soothed He-Man. "We'll take care of it."
"We got to get you out of here." She-Ra told Julie softly.
"Okay, those of us who prefer not to fight, take this young lady out of here," explained Lionel. "Rest of us will flatten these creeps like pancakes."
Cherry went to help out Sabrina with Julie.
"You sure?" Lionel asked her.
"Maybe next time." Cherry reassured.
Lionel shrugged. "I get the feeling that will come much sooner than we think..." he muttered to himself as he and the others got ready to square off against Blade and his squad.
Cherry and Sabrina helped Julie get comfortable, shushing her in comfort.
"Look in there! Look up that way," Blade barked orders as they scanned all possible perimeters. "Search over there! You! Over there! No! Search in there! Hurry!"
The group looked around for Julie, as meanwhile, said girl was being handed a laser pistol.
Blade looked up as he heard boxes fall. "She's over here!" he said. "This way..."
He-Man soon began to wander into the scene with his sister. Julie held onto the weapon she was given as she tried to hide.
"Hmm... There must be a way to lose these guys." Cherry said.
"I'd give anything to turn them into toads." Sabrina narrowed her eyes.
"What's stopping you?" replied Cherry.
One of the troopers was scouting out the area, and heard a sudden clank off to the side. He soon went to check it out.
"Hook... Line... Sinker..." smirked Lionel under his breath.
The trooper came to see the source of the sound only to be caught in the middle of a crossfire from He-Man, She-Ra, and Lionel. He-Man knocked the gun out of the trooper's hands, and Lionel headbutted him into a bunch of crates, knocking him out. Julie watched carefully and quietly as she hid away with Sabrina and Cherry. More lasers soon shout out the heroes, until...
"NO!" Julie cried out as she shot with the weapon she was given.
Luckily for her, that actually seemed to be a critical hit.
"Whoa... Good shot." Sabrina remarked.
"Yeah... Didn't see that one coming..." Cherry added.
He-Man then took that time to take down the goons that tried to get him first, but then Beast Man grabbed him from behind. Suddenly, Thor bodyslammed Beast Man, knocking him into more crates.
"Oh, hai, Thor." Cherry said.
"Hey!" Thor smiled before glaring. "Leave my friends alone, ya beast!"
Just then, Blade jumped in front of He-Man. "I've waited a long time for this." he sneered as he spun his sword... But ended up clashing with She-Ra's sword.
"My brother's dance card is full," She-Ra remarked. "But I'm still available!"
"Ah, She-Ra... This should be easy..." Blade smirked.
She-Ra growled from that as they soon came into a sword-fight together. Julie continued to hide away as she watched what was happening in front of her.
"Man, if only I could be that brave." Sabrina said.
"Ah, 'Brina, you're braver than I am," Cherry replied before smirking. "You lived with Drell for a while."
"At least until I moved out," Sabrina shrugged. "Also, Julie, aim that thing behind you."
Julie turned around and shrieked when she saw Karg right behind her, but quickly steeled herself and opened fire with the laser pistol.
"Seriously... Teach me how you do that." Cherry said to her.
"I-I'm not sure if I can..." Julie said a bit nervously.
"It was a life or death thing." Sabrina shrugged.
She-Ra soon made Blade lose his sword and backed him up against the wall. "How dare you threaten this poor child!" she said with a sneer of disgust to the villain.
"All part of the job, lady," Blade spat. "'Sides, she knows the whereabouts of the key."
"Well, as long as I'm around, you won't get it!" She-Ra snapped firmly.
Just then, Ram-Man burst out from the crate behind Blade and grabbed him in a full-nelson. Meanwhile, Teela and Man-at-Arms were firing on Beast Man and Karg. Atticus soon rushed over with his sword.
"Atticus!" Cherry called.
"Everything okay?" Atticus asked.
"Yeah, but there's just a lot of chaos which is no doubt from Skeletor!" Cherry replied.
"Follow them," He-Man told his friends. "They've probably got a doorway to Eternia!"
Teela, Orko, and Man-at-Arms nodded and took off after them.
"You okay?" Sabrina asked Julie.
"I... I think so..." Julie replied. "What is going on around here?"
"It's a long story," Cherry said. "Listen, we know you've been through a lot, but we need your help."
And so the group explained the whole story from the start.
"Wow... That is a long story..." Julie said.
"Be lucky you got the abridged version." Atticus replied.
"So you say your pal Kevin has the key?" asked Ram-Man. "He could probably be in some real danger if those guys find 'im!"
"Oh, dear..." Julie frowned worriedly.
"He's in terrible danger," He-Man told the others. "Let's go."
With a collective nod, the group raced off to find Kevin before anything bad could happen to him.
"The smell of an adventure can be a foul one in the state of Denmark." Thor remarked to himself.
"...What?" Lionel asked, confused.
"What?" Thor repeated randomly.
"Stop that." Cherry muttered.
"Stop that." Thor smiled innocently.
Lionel lightly popped him in the back of the head. "Knock it off, ya mug." he retorted.
"Sorry..." Thor said sheepishly. "I was stuck in the car with my sister in a traffic jam that lasted about two hours."
"Mook..." Cherry rolled her eyes. "This is the kind of thing that can damage character development."
"Let's just move it along, ya knucklehead..." Lionel growled as he grew two gargoyle wings and flew off.
"Sweeeet..." Thor said before bolting off with a blast of electricity.
"Wait, you have lightning magic too?" Cherry asked.
"Heh... I guess you could say I'm a weather manipulator." Thor smiled sheepishly.
"Didn't you see in the last story?" asked Lionel. "And during the time we fought Frieza?"
"I thought that was a one-time thing." Cherry replied.
"Nope!" Thor smiled. "I get that from my father's side of the family."
"Huh... Come to think of it, I barely know your parents." replied Lionel.
"Oh, that's right, you never really had a chance to get to know them," Thor said. "I'll let ya meet them sometime after this if they aren't busy."
"Hm... Alright," replied Lionel. "That could be interesting."
Thor beamed from that as they kept on going.
"We're coming for you, Kevin," Atticus said. "Wherever you are with the key."
Meanwhile, Kevin went down to a local music shop. "Hey-hey-hey! Charlie!" he exclaimed as he came inside.
"Hey, Kev, how are you?" asked the man behind the counter.
"Turn that down, turn that down," Kevin said, pointing to a radio. Charlie complied and did just that. "Wait until you see this."
"I heard you were good last night at Club Zero." Charlie said as he would take a look.
"Thanks. We're going to be better tonight," Kevin replied. "I want you to take a look at this baby."
"All right." Charlie nodded.
"All right, here," Kevin said, holding the key out to him. "What do you think?"
"Hmm... I've seen these before." Charlie told him.
"You have?" Kevin asked.
"Yeah," Charlie nodded. "It's Japanese."
A pink-haired girl glanced over as the two talked while she did a bit of her own shopping.
"Oh, no-no-no, I don't think so," said Kevin. "Here. Look. Press a few of these buttons, go ahead."
Charlie pressed it, and a musical chord sounded.
"Now the red button in front." said Kevin.
Charlie did so, and the tuning forks began to spin as a mystical-looking light ball formed above it.
"Whoa... Whatcha got this time, Kevin?" The pink-haired girl asked, coming over to see what was going on.
"Hey, Jem," Kevin said to her. "That's what I'm trying to find out. I found it with Julie earlier."
"Far out. Fantastic." Charlie laughed as he seemed to live the device.
"Ahem..." Kevin said sheepishly to get back on topic. "You know, I guess if you've seen one, you've seen them all, right? Thanks a lot, Charlie. I'll talk to you later." he then said as he decided to leave.
Charlie quickly stopped him. "Get back here... Where'd you get that?" he asked. "You wanna sell it?"
"No, no; look, I don't wanna sell it," replied Kevin. "Charlie, I found this at Laurelwood. You wouldn't believe it."
"The girls and I could use something like that for a gig." Jem smirked a bit.
"Not you too, Jem," Kevin told her. "It was like, it was lying in this huge crater. I was just hoping you'd know something about it." he then told Charlie.
"I never saw anything like it." Charlie replied.
"We've got to figure out-" Kevin began until he was drowned out a bit with police sirens outside.
"What's that?" Charlie and Jem wondered.
"D-sharp." replied Kevin.
"Oh, Mr. Perfect Pitch," snarked Charlie. "Whoa! All hell's breakin' loose out there! Let's check it out!"
"Man, that looks pretty bad." Jem commented.
Charlie soon took out a radio to see what was going on.
"All units, Code 6," A woman's voice said over the police scanner. "Proceed to Central High School. Fire and vandalism. Possible arson. Repeat: All units, Code 6. Proceed to Central High School. Fire and vandalism."
"Oh, my God... Julie's in there." Kevin realized as he had to get going then. He then quickly left, leaving Charlie looking confused, though he didn't notice Jem leaving shortly after.
Meanwhile, back in the alley, He-Man and his friends were finishing the story.
"So the only hope of defeating Skeletor is in the Cosmic Key." concluded He-Man.
"See, those guys were after you for a reason, Julie," added Orko. "Didja see it? It's this tall, and has lights and spinning forks on it."
"Wait a minute, I have seen that," Julie replied. "My boyfriend and I found this thing that had light and music coming out of it."
"Well, we gotta find your boyfriend to get the Cosmic Key." Cherry warned urgently.
"She's right." She-Ra added with agreement.
So they rushed off to find Kevin.
"This is probably the craziest night of my life." Sabrina said to herself.
"I'm sure that you've had much crazier..." replied Lionel.
"I'm not sure if I wanna go down that route." Sabrina said.
Julie looked a bit scared.
"Don't feel scared," Orko soothed Julie. "It's not so bad, you'll see."
"Yeah, and even if it is, we've got your back." Lionel added.
"You guys are really interesting." Julie smiled bashfully.
"We get that a lot." Thor replied.
They looked around in town as they kept Julie close by so that they could maybe pick out Kevin to get the Cosmic Key back.
Meanwhile, at the school, Carl was being taken to the hospital; Kevin stopped by and saw.
"Carl, are you okay?" he asked. "What happened?"
"You don't wanna know..." Carl groaned, wrapped in bandages.
"Jem, it's crazy out here!" A girl told her pink-haired friend as she and another girl rushed over to her.
"I know, Shana, and we were supposed to play here with the band." Jem replied.
"Wait, listen to me," Kevin cried out as Carl was being taken away so he couldn't talk. "Carl, where is Julie? What happened to Julie?"
The ambulance soon closed as Carl was loaded up inside on the gurney. Kevin ran towards the gym, but he was held back by someone.
"I gotta go in!" exclaimed Kevin. "My girlfriend is in there!"
"Kid, we swept that place," said a man who looked like Principal Strickland from Back to the Future. "Nobody was in there except for the janitor."
"You don't understand," said Kevin. "I just left her here 10 minutes ago."
"I'm telling you, we went through here with a police dog!" said the man. "The only stuff we found in there was right there." he pointed to a discarded helmet.
"Dear God, that's Julie's," Kevin said as he found what they found. "Where'd you find this?"
"Where do you think we found it?" The man scoffed. "We got vandalism, arson, we have bad stuff going on around here."
"What do you know about it?"
"I don't know anything about it."
"You're the cop. Why aren't you out looking for her?"
"What does she look like?"
"Look, she's about 5' 5, she's got short, dark hair, she was wearing a pink sweater," Kevin described as the cop took out a notepad. "Is that all you're going to do, you're going to write? Why aren't you out doing something?"
"I'll do something," The cop said, grabbing a hold of him by his arm. "I'll take you for a little ride. Let's go."
"Oh, great..." Kevin groused. "What're you doing, arresting me?"
"We're gonna look for your girlfriend, just like you said," retorted the cop as he shoved Kevin inside his car. "We'll try her house first; I bet you know where THAT is. Harry, do me a favor: take that down to Properties, gimme a full report, okay?"
"Oh, my..." Jem said. "I was hoping he wouldn't get arrested."
"Well, maybe Jem or Jerrica should stop that." Shana suggested.
"What do I say?" Jem shrugged. "'Don't arrest my friend'?"
"I don't think he's under arrest," Shana replied. "We'll try to cover some ground too to look for Julie. The Holograms gotta say goodbye to Julie too before she moves away."
The group nodded, and quickly set off to take action.
"Oh, hang on there, Julie." Jem hoped to herself.
