"So you're gonna try to hunt this Great Animal?" Thor asked Derek.
"Yes, and it will lead me to Odette," Derek nodded. "Perhaps your lost friends too if they're with Odette."
Patch and Tyke both looked like they didn't like the sound of that.
"And you're going to use the musicians for practice?" Mo asked. "Are you crazy?!"
"Ah, you guys just don't understand," Derek shook his head. "This will work. One way or another."
"The musicians are not happy." Rogers remarked as he got the arrows ready.
"I know, but I have to practice." Derek reminded him as he put on a blindfold.
"Oh, no complaints here. I think it's going to be loads of... Fun." Rogers replied then as he checked the bucket for more dust.
"The Great Animal is never going to give her up without a fight." Derek retorted as dust came out on Rogers' face before he went to wipe it away.
"You're not still thinking she's alive?" Rogers asked then.
"When I find the Great Animal, Rogers, I'll find Odette." Derek retorted.
"Oh, Derek, you've looked everywhere," Rogers shook his head. "She's not coming back. The whole kingdom knows it."
"The whole kingdom's wrong," Mo spoke up then. "Odette, Atticus, and Cherry are alive, and we should find them."
"Yeah." Patch nodded.
"They're right," Derek nodded with the blindfold on. "You ready, Brom?"
"No peaking." Rogers told Bromley.
This caused Bromley to put his blindfold over his eyes again.
"Great Animal or not, I'm not sure if I approve of hunting animals." Mo pouted.
"And what if The Great Animal hurt that Atticus kid you like so much?" Derek defended. "You'd wanna hunt it then, right?"
"...I don't think so." Mo said softly.
"It's okay, Mo," Thor comforted. "You don't gotta if you don't wanna."
"Thanks, Thor. You're sweet." Mo smiled in a friendly sense.
"I try anyway." Thor smiled back.
"Um, this may sound silly and all, but why do we need the blindfolds again?" Bromley soon asked once he got his blindfold back on.
"To give the 'animals' a head start," Rogers chuckled before calling out. "Animals, assemble!"
"Lord Rogers, I must object. We are musicians!" One of the musicians complained as he stepped out of the gazebo with the others.
"The servants have the day off; we have to use someone." Rogers retorted.
"But I'm an artist! Not a boar." The musician defended.
"Could've fooled me." Rogers muttered.
"This should be interesting." Tyke said.
"Come on, guys. They're harmless." Derek said as he got ready to start.
Tyke looked unsure about that as he rolled his eyes slightly.
"You get what you pay for." Patch quoted with a shrug.
"We are a band and not a band of animals, This masquerade~" The musicians began to sing before they got in their animal costumes.
"Is more than I can bear~" The bear musician added.
"There goes my reputation, It's awful, this humiliation~" The musicians continued as one struggled with his duck costume.
"And I've the lion's share~" Another musician added, dressed like a lion.
Tyke and Patch glanced at each other in slight deadpan before looking back at the musicians.
"Down on all fours, please and growl ferociously." Rogers told the musicians.
The musicians didn't look too happy about this as they simply glared.
"Liven in up a bit." Rogers told them.
The musician dressed as an elephant simply let out a single trumpet.
"I want you to strike fear into my heart." Rogers told the musicians.
The last musician dressed as a rabbit soon let out a terrifying roar.
"Ooh. Nice roar." Patch said.
"Not you, Wesley. You're a rabbit for Heaven's sake." Rogers told the last musician.
"Is it 'Weaselley' or 'Wesley'?" Thor joked to himself.
"Archers! Ready..." Rogers began to signal as Derek and Bromley took their arrows, covered with either orange and blue dust as the musicians began to get ready to go and act like animals. "Set... GO!" he then concluded as he pulled the string, pulling Derek and Bromley's blindfolds off.
Bromley looked dizzy without his blindfold before he began to shoot arrows with Derek to hunt down the musicians who tried to avoid them, even Wesley as he hopped around as a normal rabbit would. Wesley blew a raspberry as Bromley wasn't doing too good and kept hopping away.
"Duck!" The fox musician warned before ducking down with the elephant servant.
"What?" The duck musician asked only to get hit by an arrow.
"I know I'm just gonna be reminded of something crazier, but this is probably the wildest thing I've ever seen on my adventures." Patch commented to Tyke.
"I know the feeling." Tyke said.
Bromley began to look for Wesley before seeing him waving over to him with a club before he shot one of his arrows at him, only for Wesley to hit the arrow right back at his face, covering it blue.
"Ooh. Nice swing." Patch smiled.
Bromley pouted at his misfortune.
Derek then brought out his bow and arrow, shooting his arrow into the courtyard.
The duck musician kept running back and forth only to get hit by about three orange arrows, looking trapped from everywhere he ran into.
Derek then shot a couple of arrows from left and right.
"Duck!" The fox musician warned as he ducked down with the elephant musician again.
"What?" The duck musician glared before he got hit again.
"Day after day all the prince ever does is practice, practice, practice~" Uberta and the courtiers sang as they sat down outside to have some tea during the hunting party.
"Thinking of her and the way that it was~" Uberta sighed to herself before an arrow shot out at her, exploding in orange dust as she looked grumpy then.
"Practice, practice, practice~" The courtiers continued to sing.
"He's not happy 'til he has attacked us~" The duck musician sang as he ran across the tables.
The courtiers and Uberta soon ducked down as one of Derek's arrows flew past them Derek soon fired five arrows and they each landed on an animal until they hide behind a tree as Bromley kept chasing after Wesley.
"This is getting chaotic! Even for me!" Tyke whimpered.
Thor pouted as he soon scooped up his bulldog pup and put him in his backpack with a small smile before glaring protectively. "DEREK! Watch your aim!" he then snapped.
"Watch out for that-" Mo began to warn.
Derek then shot the duck musician which sent him sliding into the elephant musician and they all slid down the hill together and crashed into a tree.
"Tree..." Mo then finished with a sigh.
"12 seconds!" Rogers called out as he held out an hourglass.
"Day after day all the prince ever does, Practice, practice, practice, Thinking of her and the way that it was~" The courtiers sang as the animal musicians nearly escaped with what appeared to be Wesley left on the courtyard. "Practice, practice, practice~"
"If we had refused he would have sacked us~" The musicians added as Bromley cornered Wesley against a tree.
Bromley then tried to shoot arrows at Wesley who kept avoiding them in a Bugs Bunny fashion.
"Five seconds!" Rogers then called out.
Derek soon noticed Wesley which caused the rabbit musician to start running from him.
'That won't help him get away from the arrows.' Thor thought to himself.
"So we face a life of target~" The musicians then continued to sing.
"Three! Two!" Rogers then began to count down.
"Practice, practice, practice!~" The others singing soon concluded after a while.
"Time! Animals, assemble for counting!" Rogers soon called out once the time was up as Bromley came up behind Wesley, patting him with his blue dusted arrow a few times. "Aha! Very good, very good. You scored plenty of five-pointers, that's for sure."
"Sorry, Hans. Why don't you take a few days off?" Derek told the duck musician bashfully.
"All right, so how does this scoring thing work out?" Thor asked as he scratched his head.
"Please, allow me," Rogers replied as he decided to cover the scoring. "Moose are worth two points. 16, it's a total of 32. 10 seven-pointers and 14 three-pointers, with a total of 298. Well done, Derek!" he then noted as Wesley looked around, now covered in three blue spots. "Now Bromley, let's see, for you, and zero, and zero, and uh nothing, and nil and zip. And last but not least the elusive 100-point white rabbit!"
"I believe that's 300, Rogers." Bromley smirked, pointing to the three blue dust spots on Wesley's body.
"Good shooting, Brom." Derek smiled at his old friend.
"Well, write it down! 300 to 298." Bromley smirked boastfully.
"Yeah, whatever you say, pal." Mo rolled her eyes as she noticed the cheating.
"Oh, I wouldn't be smirking, Bromley." Patch smirked.
"Why?" Bromley asked.
"I believe I kight know why." Derek said before gesturing for Wesley to turn around.
Wesley soon turned around and as Thor lifted up the fake rabbit tail, they soon saw one spot of orange dust on Wesley's butt.
"That makes the score 398 to 300." Patch said.
"You're a great marksman, Derek. One of the best, but it takes more than good aim," Bromley remarked before smirking smugly. "It takes courage. That's my forte."
"Well, then. How about a quick round of catch-and-fire?" Rogers then suggested with a smirk.
"C-C-Catch-and-fire?" Bromley asked nervously suddenly. "You mean me?"
"You're the only one with enough c-c-courage." Rogers told him with a dark grin on his face.
"And with that being said, I think we're just gonna step out of the way." Thor suggested for himself, Mo, Patch, and Tyke.
"Agreed." Mo, Patch, and Tyke nodded.
A moment later, Bromley was seen in a suit of armor as Rogers tied an apple on top of his head.
"Are you sure you're all right?" Rogers asked as Bromley got him ready.
"Uh-hmm. I'm fine. I-I'm fine," Bromley nodded before gasping as the tie was too tight around his throat and he had trouble breathing. "Oh, too tight! Too tight!"
"Oh, whoops. So sorry," Rogers said with a grin before Bromley freed himself. "Ready?" he then asked.
"R-R-R-R..." Bromley stammered, starting to sound unsure of himself.
"He's ready," Rogers then told Derek for him before putting the helmet on the younger man's head. "Remember now, aim for the heart. Right between the shoulders." he then reminded.
"I'm still not sure if this is absolutely necessary, Mr. Rogers!" Thor piped up nervously.
"Do not worry. Derek has excellent archery skills; he will no doubt shoot the apple off Bromley's head." Rogers told him.
"Yeah, but what about Bromley? Will he hold the arrow still so it won't stray off course?" Mo asked.
"He will be able to shoot it straight," Rogers said. "Plus Derek has fast reflexes."
Thor and Mo shared concerned looks, as did Tyke and Patch. Derek and Bromley soon readied themselves with their bows and arrows.
"Oh, please, oh, please, oh, please..." Bromley whispered to himself fearfully.
"Come on, Brom," Derek whispered to himself with his back turned. "Hold it steady."
"Oh, please, oh, please, oh, please... Now!" Bromley whispered again before he shot his arrow suddenly.
Derek quickly turned around and with great skill, he grabbed the arrow and took it before shooting his own arrow right back at Bromley, shooting for the apple on his head, slicing it in half as Rogers caught the one apple half while Patch and Tyke soon looked relieved as Bromely suddenly fell and hit the ground.
"52 out of 52! Well done, Derek! Extraordinary courage, man," Rogers approved as he held the apple half in his hand. "Just think, one inch lower and that arrow would have..." he then began to tell Bromley on the ground.
"Don't lose hope, Odette, wherever you are, I'm gonna find you." Derek promised.
"And I'll find you, Atticus. And you too, Cherry," Mo vowed to herself. "I'll find you both."
"Oh, you will, and I'd love to tell you how, but I don't think this guy with me is going to let me," Brooke replied. "Seriously, he's a worse stick in the mud than my parents. I really wish I could've helped like that one time on True Heart's Day in Ever After High and that mess with C.A. Cupid, Raven Queen, and Dexter Charming."
"That bad, huh?" Patch remarked.
Meanwhile, at Swan Lake, it was soon becoming nighttime. Cherry and Atticus sighed about their new predicament as they tried to make the most of it that they could.
"Oh, boy... Here we go..." Cherry said to the frog. "You remind me so much of Prince Naveen, only he wasn't born a frog."
"Maybe he's like Hopper Croakington?" Atticus replied.
"Yeah, I guess that comparison fits more." Cherry nodded then.
"Quiet! I cannot concentrate!" Jean-Bob scolded them as he got some cattails together from outside the lake.
"You've come up with some dumb ideas, Jean-Bob, but this one's a doozy." Speed commented to the lovesick frog.
"Yeah. A real doozy." Atticus said.
"Laugh if you want, but I will get her to kiss me and when she does." Jean Bob said.
"Yeah, yeah, we know. When she kisses you, POOF! You'll be a prince, you've told us before." Cherry told him.
"Why don't you give her these flowers?" Speed asked Jean-Bob as he gestured to some purple flowers close by.
"Oh, I actually kinda like those." Cherry commented about the purple flowers.
"HA! What a love dance. I don't want these flowers, I must have those," Jean-Bob scoffed with a smirk as he got the cattails ready. "When she learns that I have risked my life for them, the kissing will not stop."
"And then you'll change into a prince." Speed said as he had heard that a million times before.
"Precisely." Jean-Bob nodded.
"Mind if I point out a problem?" Speed then asked.
"I don't take advice from peasants." Jean-Bob disagreed.
"Okay, buddy. It's your funeral." Cherry shrugged in deadpan.
Jean-Bob then made a pole out of the cattails, tying them together, attempting to make it like a catapult as a couple of alligators popped out of the moat, looking hungrily to him. "Flowers. Kiss. Concentration. Flowers. Kiss. Concentration." he then told himself, then got ready to fling himself.
"Just a quick question." Cherry spoke up.
"Fine... One question." Jean-Bob allowed her as he looked ready to spring.
"How are you gonna get back?" Cherry asked with a small smirk.
Jean-Bob soon looked wide-eyed and unfortunate before he flung back and forth from the ground and over the lake as the alligators kept trying to get him, but they didn't stay lucky for long as he was subjected to painful slapstick. "Ah! Hurry, hurry! Move up, move up! No, not that close! Aaaah! Grab to me! Grab to me! Hold my arm! Hold my leg! Hold my-Hold it, hold it, hold it!" he then cried out before it stopped and Odette soon came over to hold onto him so that he could stop swinging back and forth. "Oh, thank you, Odette. Thank you. Let me have that," he then said to the princess in relief before he grabbed his pole to hit the alligators in a huff. "Silence, you savages!" he then glared before he was then suddenly hit back and he fell in the middle of the ground.
"I'd say that was karma doing its work on him." Cherry said.
"Jean-Bob, are you okay?" Odette asked the frog.
"Oui. I am alright." Jean Bob said while flat on the ground on his back.
"What in the world were you trying to do?" Odette then asked.
"He thought that if-" Speed began to explain.
"Shh!" Jean-Bob shushed him before smiling innocently at the princess. "I wanted to get those flowers for you."
"You're being sneaky again, Jean-Bob." Odette smirked knowingly.
"What sneaky? You deserve a nice bouquet." Jean-Bob said, trying to cover himself up.
"And you deserve a kiss." Odette then said.
"Well, all right." Jean-Bob smirked, hoping to get a kiss from her then.
"You know Odette is under a spell." Atticus reminded the lovesick frog.
"But my kiss will break the spell." Jean-Bob then insisted.
"Give it up, Jean-Bob." Speed rolled his eyes.
"I think you and I are gonna get along great." Cherry smirked at the turtle.
"I can only kiss the man I love and then he-" Odette started.
"And make a vow of ever-lasting love, I know." Jean-Bob said.
"And prove it to the world." Odette told him.
"What do you think I was doing with the flowers and the alligators going chomp-chomp?" Jean Bob asked.
"Sorry, I thought maybe you were stupid or suicidal or both." Cherry smirked.
"You are not helping, Cerise!" Jean-Bob complained to her.
"Who said I had to help?" Cherry shrugged nonchalantly.
"Speed, make him understand." Odette said to the turtle.
"I'm only a turtle," Speed replied. "Maybe Atticus or Cherry can talk to him. They seem to understand about true love and fairy tales and princesses better than I do." he then suggested.
"Well, it's a little difficult to explain." Atticus said.
"And now Odette will start singing." Cherry said to herself.
"If I could break this spell I'd run to him today, And somehow I know he's on his way to me~" Odette soon started to sing as she walked away from her friends as Jean-Bob began to yawn out of boredom, but Speed looked like he was listening to the song. "Derek, you and I were meant to be, Far longer than forever I'll hold you in my heart, It's almost like you're here with me, Although we're far apart~" she then continued as she looked up at the full moon.
MEANWHILE...
Derek also happened to be singing as Mo, Thor, Patch, and Tyke watched him and he took out a golden locket in his hand as he stood out at a balcony. "Far longer than forever, As constant as a star, I close my eyes and I am where you are~"
"Sure as the dawn brings the sunrise, We've an unshakable bond~" Odette sang.
"Destined to last for a lifetime and beyond, Far longer than forever~" Derek sang.
"Far longer than forever~"
"I swear that I'll be true~"
"I swear that I'll be true~"
"I've made an~"
"Everlasting vow to find a way to you~" Derek and Odette sang together. "Far longer than forever, Like no love ever known~"
"And with your love~" Odette sang alone.
"I'll never be alone~" Derek and Odette then sang together.
"Far longer than forever~" Odette sang.
"Much stronger than forever~" Derek sang.
"And with your love, I'll never be alone~" Odette then sang, ending the song.
Unknown to them, a new bird was seen flying in the air and where it was shown to be a puffin, but he seemed to be exhausted as he had an injured wing from an arrow before he stopped flying causing him to crash down, catching Atticus, Cherry, Odette, Speed, and Jean-Bob's attention.
"What the...?" Atticus blinked before asking. "What's a puffin doing out this far from any place cold?"
"He must be lost," Cherry noted. "At least it's not the North Pole. I'm getting tired of kids' media showing penguins in The North Pole... Even though this is a Puffin." she then shrugged.
"You think he's dead?" Speed wondered as he looked down at the poor puffin.
"No, it's just his wing, I think." Odette said.
"Strange-looking bird." Jean-Bob commented as he examined the puffin.
"Poor fellow. He must be in a lot of pain," Odette frowned as she knew what to do. "You better hold him."
The puffin whimpered as Speed held him down by getting on top of him. "Ready." The turtle then told the others.
"Want some help?" Cherry asked.
"Thank you, but I've got it." Odette said as she carefully adjusted the arrow before breaking it and made a bandage to put the puffin's wing in so that he could heal.
"I just hope it isn't too late..." Cherry said, concerned for the puffin.
Odette soon snapped the arrow in half, causing the puffin to cringe as she got the arrow out before bandaging his wing. "That should do it." she then said.
"Wow. Good work, Odette." Atticus replied.
"Thanks, Atticus." Odette told him.
"Hello, strange-looking bird; this is your wake-up call." Jean-Bob said as he opened the puffin's left eye.
The puffin looked dizzy before he suddenly sprung into action and looked firm. "Aha! It takes more than a pair of pond folks to keep Puffin down! Hi-yah!" he then glared at Speed and Jean-Bob, looking like he was going to beat him up.
"Wait, we're your friends." Odette said, trying to stop the puffin from becoming a handful.
The puffin looked doubtful. "If you were me friend, how come you have an arrow in your hand, huh?" he then asked, seeing the arrow in Odette's hand. "Yes! The exact kind of arrow I have in-" he then started to ask, going to point to his wing that the arrow was in until he saw that it was out, much to his surprise.
"Odette took it out while you were laying there." Cherry explained.
"You mean you had a chance to 'kkkt'," The puffin began to ask as he slit his throat with his wing before he mimed pulling an arrow out from his arrow. "But instead you 'pfft'?"
"Uh-huh." Odette nodded truthfully.
"Madam, I apologize," The puffin said as he bowed to her before saluting. "Me name is Puffin. Lieutenant Puffin."
"Wait... Your name is actually 'Puffin'?" Cherry asked him.
"I've been called that my entire life." Puffin shrugged in defense.
"Fair point," Cherry said. "Anyway, I'm Cherry."
"And I'm Atticus." Atticus said.
"I'm Odette. Princess Odette." Odette told the bird as she held her right hand out to him.
Puffin soon kissed the back of his hand.
"Ooh, he's a gentlepuffin." Cherry smirked a little.
"And these are my best friends in the whole world: Mr. Lorenzo Trudge-a-long..." Odette then began to introduce the frog and turtle next.
"Friends call me Speed." Speed told Puffin.
"And Jean-Bob." Odette then added.
"I have no friends, only servants, and they call me Your Highness." Jean-Bob scoffed as he held out his hand to be kissed by Puffin.
"He thinks he's a prince." Speed whispered to Puffin.
"I owe ya, Princess. And I intend on stayin' until me debt is paid." Puffin smiled and bowed at Odette.
"I'm afraid there's not much you can do. He has me under a spell." Odette told him.
"Yeah, me and Cherry would break the spell with our magic, but with these on," Atticus said before gesturing the black cuff on his right hand while a black cuff on Cherry's left hand. "We can't use our magic.
"Spell? Magic? You mean like..." Puffin said before pretending to do magic. Only in front of him, a purple flower appeared out of magic, causing Puffin to look at his wings out of surprise before they saw the whole area turning into a beautiful scenery.
"There is no way that just happened." Cherry said as she couldn't believe what she just saw.
Speed and Jean-Bob soon pulled Puffin away suddenly to go and hide.
"Your knight in shining armor has come to set you free." A familiar voice said to Odette.
"Oh, great. Razzle Dazzle's back." Cherry groaned as she crossed her arms as she went to hide with Atticus.
"Lemme at 'im! Lemme at 'im!" Puffin threatened in a Scrappy-Doo fashion. "I'll-"
"Chill." Speed told Puffin while they hid.
