Ashley's Kanto adventure
Meet Ashley Ketchum, she is an 11-year-old girl who was full of imagination, confidence, and dreams that were almost too big for her village of Pallet Town and the desire to one day become a Pokémon Master! Ashley was finally old enough to receive her first Pokémon from Professor James, the town's Pokémon expert. In a massive stadium, two creatures who are known as Pokémon were having a battle, who were being directed by their Trainers to give it their all. One of the Pokémon, who was a Gengar, was ordered to dodge a Horn Attack from it's opponent, a Nidorino, and used it's Hypnosis attack on it, causing it to fall asleep. Nidorino's Trainer had recalled it and sends out another Pokémon known as Onix into the battle. The massive Rock Snake Pokémon would emerge from it's Poké Ball and was preparing to take on Gengar, at which point it was revealed that the battle was being displayed on a television. It's viewer was a girl named Ashley Ketchum who was living in a small settlement called Pallet Town and was only eleven years old, which would allow her to pick out a starter Pokémon and become a Pokémon Trainer. Ashley was declaring to herself and to the Pokémon of the world that she will one day become a Pokémon Master. Her speech, however, was suddenly interrupted by her mom who would tell her to get to bed as she has a big day tomorrow. Ashley would protest that she was too excited to sleep, so her mom would tell her that if she will not go to sleep then to at least get ready for the next day as she would switch on a program hosted by the town's Pokémon expert, Professor James. Ashley was watching as Professor James was explaining that new Trainers can get to pick one of the three Pokémon to start their journey: The Grass-type Bulbasaur, the Fire-type Charmander, or the Water-type Squirtle. As Ashley was sleeping, she was going over the few choices in her head reasoning that any of the three available Pokémon were good for starting Pokémon Trainers like herself. The next morning, Ashley's mother would wake up her daughter at exactly seven o'clock in the morning. Ashley was getting dressed in a medium blue jacket with gold trim and white collar and sleeves, which was worn open over a dark cyan t-shirt. Her lower outfit would consist of jean shorts with light white cuffs, black and white sneakers with red dots on both sides, and a black belt, which she will use to hang her Poké Balls on. Ashley was also wearing some green finger-less gloves with light green borders, and of course, her favorite red and white Pokémon League hat. She had on a green backpack with a yellow square label and slings with black adjusters on them. Ashley was running to Professor James's Laboratory in such a playful manner, which at this point she did not care which kind of Pokémon starter she was going to get as long as she could get any kind. She would arrive at the laboratory just in time to see Professor James opening up his doors. Ashley would apologize for being an hour-early before any one of her fellow Trainers (including Professor James's grandson), named Gary. But she would tell Professor James that she was ready to pick out her first Pokémon. She was taken into the laboratory, as Ashley would see the three Poké Balls sitting on a pedestal and started to state that after thinking about it she had decided to choose Squirtle as her starter, however; before the eleven-year-old trainer could choose the Tiny Turtle Pokémon as her first choice. She had decided to instead tell the Pokémon professor that she did not really want to start off with one of the three traditional starters like everybody else will. Professor James was thinking it over for a little moment before giving Ashley an answer, "If loyalty and companionship is what you are searching for, my dear Ashley, then you're in good luck, my Slownine just hatched three litters of Slowlithe puppies just a few weeks ago." At this point, Ashley was willing to settle for anything and happily told Professor James that she will take up on his official offer. A few seconds later, Professor James would emerge from his storage room with a new Poké Ball in his hand and hands it to Ashley as she would throw it into the air, upon which the red and white spherical ball opens and revealed a medium-sized quadrupedal canine-like Pokémon. The Puppy Pokémon had pink fur with black stripes along it's back and legs. The fur on it's rounded, muzzle, chest, belly, and tail was cream-colored, as well as an additional tuft of fur on top of it's head. Slowlithe's coat was noticeably longer on it's chest and tail. It had large, black eyes, two dashes as nostrils, and large, round ears with beige insides. It's forepaws have two visible claws, while it's hind paws had three toes each. Each one of it's paws had a brown pad on them. While two small pointed teeth were protruded from it's upper jaw. Ashley was very impressed by Slowlithe's cuteness, deciding that the Slowlithe was better than any of the three starters. As she would bend down on one knee and held her hand out for the Fire-type to smell. The Puppy Pokémon had decided that it was safe to get closer. It was slowly making it's way towards the young girl, desiring the young girl's will power. Slowlithe would give her a teasing growl and then licked her hand unexpectedly, making the young girl giggle at the feel of the Puppy Pokémon's tongue. She had picked up Slowlithe and hugged the young Fire-type, before seeing her Pokémon Professor give her some Poké Balls and a Pokédex. Heading outside, Ashley would find her mom and a small group of supporters outside ready to wish her good luck as she was heading out on her Pokémon journey. Ashley's mom was getting a little weepy at the thought of her only daugther finally leaving to start her life as a Pokémon Trainer, before she would then start to list the numerous supplies that she had packed for her daughter before she could go anywhere. She would then notice Ashley's Slowlithe and asked Ashley why she did not pick out one of the three starters like she had said she would, Ashley had realized that her mother was right as she would tell her mother that she had wanted to start differently than the other-to be Pokémon Trainers as her mother was bending down to run her gentle fingers through the cream-colored tuft of fur on top of Slowlithe's head. Slowlithe would see where it's trainer's kindness had came from. As Ashley and her Slowlithe would begin their long journey, walking beyond the outskirts of Pallet Town.
