Isabelle's pov
I sat there at the dining room table, twisting my curly brown hair around my index finger deep in thought, thinking about a mate of mine who had come from faraway to stay here in London For a several years. We had known each other since we were young despite the fact that he lived 9,224 kilometres, and now gone again those 9,224 kilometres that divide us. Part of me want to say he's alright after all Japan is his home not London.
"Straighten up Isabelle, and quit fiddling with you hair, that's no way for a young lady to act," Father said.
"Yes, sir,"I said immediately sitting up and folding my hands in my lap. That's right Father was home he almost never was he was always gone due to quote "businesses". He was a member of the British parliament an Earl to be exact, a title and position passed down to him by my grandfather after he passed, a role that I as the eldest of his two daughters would have to assume whether I wish it or not. "Business" had brought him to Austria for an entire month where both my sister,Francis, and I know he was just living it up. Yes he had come back and had thrown a party celebrating his return, as was his custom, and after that it was back to him constantly nagging me to hide my freckles, and to wear contact lenses because he thought my circle frame glasses where to obnoxious. Ohhoho, the things he would nag about constantly trying to get my sister and myself to fit into the unrealistic mold he held so dear. Both me and Francis held secrets from him and gran, who was just as bad, Francis wrote computer programs and made video games, while I on the other hand practiced magic tricks to the point of perfection and well was also a famous high school detective under the pen name of Rose Adler, if our family found out it wouldn't be pretty.
"Isabelle, wasn't there something you wanted to ask your father?" Gran said.
I sat up straighter, if that was even possible,"Yes, I was wondering if you would allow me to study abroad? I was thinking that it would have a good influence for my future to see how different countries interact with each other and deal with different problems."
He sat there silent for shot while before nodding, "I don't see any reason why I shouldn't let you, do you have any particular place in mind?"
"Well, I wanted to go to Tokyo, Gran and I already picked out a school and an apartment close by to where a family friend lives," I said.
"Which family friend?" He asked.
"Police Superintendent Hakuba,"I answered.
"Alright, I'll inform him about it, and you can leave the first of march,"He said getting up from the table.
"Thank you," I said as I left the room.
Frances followed me out of the room and up stairs.
"It's Dexter isn't it," She said as I opened my bedroom door.
"What do you mean by that?" I asked.
"You wan't to see your husband right?" she teased leaning up against the door frame.
"NO, I was being serious," I said carefully eyeing my wardrobe.
"Didn't you hear Father your not leaving for another week," She said changing the subject.
"Doesn't hurt to have things planned, that and I don't want to scramble around last minute."
