Tansy 24

Tansy-hostile thoughts, declaring war

They say dreams are the gateway that connects our conscious and subconscious state. Dreams both good and bad are how our subconscious reveals things that we fail to realize in our conscious state, these things can be problems(nightmares) or achievements (dreams).

"Lottie, could you go get Catherine," Father ordered my governess.

Lottie left the room, patting my head on the way out.

"Here go on and open my present," My father said, giving me a flimsy parcel.

It was definitely some form of clothing,"Shouldn't we wait for mother?" I squeaked as I realized I was speaking out of turn.

Father laughed," Go on and open it."

I did as I was told. Inside the wrapped paper was a black pleated skirt and a matching v-neck sweater.

"This'll be your school uniform when you start at St Marie's," Father explained, kneeling down and placing a hand on my shoulder.

I didn't quite understand what he meant but I nodded anyways. Just as I did a scream tore through the once merry household.

"Mother, Emily stay here with the children," My father ordered Mrs. Hakuba and gran. He nervously looked around the room and left hastily with the other adults.

I looked around, Francis screamed, the other children looked just as confused as I was.

"Come here child," Gran said.

I looked at the door everyone else had gone through and ran. I needed to find mother, she'd know what's going on. As I ran I went over every possible place she could be and the fastest route there. I last saw her in the conservatory last, she had gone inside through the door on the second floor. She took a right, in that direction there's only the nursery and a stairway, that eliminates the entire second floor. The library occupies the first second and third floor, but that's highly unlikely considering that's in the west wing not the east. Mother's study is on the third floor east wing, father's is on the first east wing.

I checked father's study first, I was almost seen by the adults, there was no one there anyways.

"It'll be faster to take the southeast stairs," I said to myself as I watched the adults go up the main stairs. I ran as fast as my legs could carry, my heart pounding so hard that I could hear it in my ears.

When I reached mother's study Lottie was outside on the floor, a look of terror was painted across her face.

"Lottie where's mother?" I asked, in between heavy breaths.

She looked at me,"No, don't come any closer," she said, trembling.

Something was wrong, something was horribly wrong.

"Lottie where's ," I repeated before looking inside the open door,"Mother?"

Mum hung limp from the ceiling a rope around her neck.

Father and the rest of the adults came into view down the hallway.

"M-mother?"

"She can't hear you,"Father said, turning me around to face him.

"B-but why?" I was confused, I didn't understand what was happening.

"Isabelle, she's gone," my father said with a voice that sent shivers down my spine,"Your mother's dead, she's never coming back."

I froze. Before then I never really understood what death was, what it really was. I eye's began to water.

Father picked me up and trust me into Lottie's arms,"Take her to the nursery and make sure she stays there."

"Mum, Mum!" I screamed as the tears rolled down my cheeks. Blood flowed out of my nose, mixing with tears.

I threw myself on the bed in the nursery, tears never ceasing. Sirens wailed through the rain that had begun to fall, Francis screamed in the background as the other children came into the nursery.

Saguru came in carrying a box. He put it down on the bed next to me,"I don't want to see you cry," he said, barely audible,"This is for you," he continued opening the box and slowly pulling out a porcelain doll.

I woke with a jump. No matter how hard I tried to forget it seemed that memory always came back to me. I glanced over at the porcelain doll on the nightstand and began to cry.
