A/N: As you should have already figured out if you had actually read the synopsis, then you should know that this story will have elements of HxH, or better known as Hunter x Hunter. Also, my character will be travelling alone for a good while until later one in much later chapters.

[Pokemon Speech]
[Please teach me how to use my aura like you do!]
"No."
[Please! I really want to get stronger!]
"Then go train..."
[I always do! But, I feel like I'm making no progress! Please! Please! Please!]
"Oh my god, why do you need me of all people to train you? I already told you back there when I woke up in this forest that I honestly have no idea how trainers and pokemon work that much. I know basic stuff, but that's it! You can totally find a better person to train you than me."
The voice of a young man could be heard complaining with another voice as they could be seen walking through a forest of sorts, the human male of the two sighing as he sat down and leaned against a tree as the small pokemon that had been pestering him for the past hour stood in front of him as he sat.
The male appeared to be around the age of fourteen and had neat straight black hair with vibrant blue bangs at the front of his face, having also a pair of sapphire blue eyes. His clothes consisting of a tight white t-shirt with blue claw shaped designs on either side of his stomach and also a pair of tight long black pants, along with white running shoes and black armguards.
This male's name was Azure, a young boy whom, not to your surprise, is not from this world! He had suddenly found himself waking up here in this strange forest, though he had absolutely no idea what events had even possibly lead up to this current situation of his. He wasn't sure what he wanted more right now, go back home where it was more dangerous, or stay here and suffer through this.
After having found himself awoken up in this strange forest, it hadn't taken him long before he had figured out his situation, he was in a different world. While this fact would cause a lot of people to panic, considering the type of world that he had come from, this was probably on the lower side of weird for him.
Though, the weirdest thing about his situation is that he found out that the world he had ended up teleporting to wasn't any world he wasn't familiar with, it was the world of pokemon! He had remembered playing the games not too long ago, though stopped since he ended up getting bored of them after a while.
Plus, being a hunter was stressful as hell.
When he had woken up, he had ended up saving the very same pokemon that was currently begging him to help him get stronger. After having saved him, the pokemon had been extremely surprised when it sensed that he had used aura, or Nen for him, to defeat another larger pokemon that had attacked it.
More so when the pokemon found out that Azure was actually able to understand what he was saying, which lead to the current situation he was in. The pokemon was constantly asking him to help him get better at using aura, the whole thing mainly due to seeing how unique Azure had used his aura compared to what the pokemon had ever seen.
What Azure found interesting was that, while he could understand what the pokemon he had saved was saying, he couldn't understand the other pokemon. Perhaps it had to do with the use of aura, but he wasn't certain. He just knew that he couldn't understand other pokemon aside from this one.
Speaking of, the pokemon that had been pestering him was a black and blue, dog-like pokemon nearing two and a half feet. Its legs and torso are colored black while its head, lower body and tail are blue. He also had a large, rounded bumps on the backs of its forepaws. Also having a black "mask" with two black appendages on either side, and red eyes.
This pokemon was of course a Riolu, which he had easily recognised from the games that he had played. He was surprised to sense a stronger sense of aura from within the pokemon compared to other pokemon around them, but quickly understood why as their species were known for being able to manipulate aura. Not like Nen users though.
[Well, I can sense your aura, and it's incredible! It's the strongest I have ever felt! Even more on that, how did you use it to produce those flames?! I really want to know!] Riolu had said with excitement on its face as Azure just listened with a calm expression on his face. [I feel like if you can teach me how to use my aura like that, then I can get really strong!]
"I understand that my use of my Nen, or you usually call aura, is unique to you and those of this world. But, why don't you find someone who can train you like a trainer would? I mean, I have pretty much no idea aside from the basics." Azure frowned as he looked at the small pokemon who had sat down in front of him.
[I would, but it's not like there are many trainers out there who can train me to use my aura better. True, some would train me to get stronger, but not use my aura that well.] Azure couldn't really deny that, trainers don't exactly know how to utilise aura, only a very select few from what he knew could.
"If I remember correctly, aren't there those people called Aura Guardians here? Ask one of those guys to help you out with this..."
[Where do you expect me to find someone like that?] Riolu asked with a tilt of his head. Azure didn't exactly have a response for that as he shrugged his shoulders, he would use his aura to try and detect them, but who knows how far he would need to extend his search to find one! Also considering the consumption of aura.
"I don't know, there might be one arou-!"
[Besides! I want to learn how to use aura like you do!] Riolu suddenly shouted as he leapt towards Azure and clinged onto his shirt while he was still sitting down and was pulling on it back and forth. [You said that you come from a completely different world, right? It's no wonder your aura is so different! I want to learn how to use it like you do!]
"Calm down..." Azure sighed as he placed his hand on the small dog-like pokemon's head, causing him to stop tugging on the human male's shirt as Azure picked Riolu up and put him on the ground as he stood up. Azure crossed his arms and added. "If I were to accept being your trainer and teach you the ways of my Nen, how? If you remember, I woke up in this world an hour ago. I don't have things like Pokeballs."
[Oh, don't worry about that! Take a look at this!] Riolu smiled as Azure watched in confusion as Riolu took out a red and white Pokeball from who knows where, where the heck did this Riolu even manage to keep that without him noticing? [We don't need to worry about not being able to catch me! I just happen to have this!]
"Ok, how the hell did you get this? How many do you even have? I'm pretty sure pokemon don't just carry Pokeballs around with them on the daily basis."
[I took it from a trainer that had tried to catch me with the ball a couple of days ago. I managed to escape and took the ball with me.] Riolu explained as Azure gave the pokemon a deadpanned look as a small sweatdrop was at the back of his head. [I'm not sure why I even took it in the first place, but it worked out in the end! So, please be my trainer!]
"... I'm gonna regret this, aren't I?" Azure sighed as he reached down and took hold of the Pokeball. He would be lying if he said that he wasn't interested at all at being a trainer, it was always something he wondered what it would be like. He played the games, but he wondered how it would feel to experience it first hand. "Fine, I'll be your trainer..."
[Yes! Finally!] Riolu cheered before hopping up towards the Pokeball, pressing down on the button as Azure just held it as Riolu was soon sucked into the ball in the form of a blue light. To which the ball shook a total of three times in the expanse of a few short seconds before stopping. Azure sighed as he pressed the button.
When he did, the Pokeball opened up before a familiar blue light shot out from within before crashing to the ground as it began to take the shape of Riolu. After the light died down, Riolu was now indeed standing in front of him again with a big smile o his face as his tail was wagging side to side.
[Now time for some Nen trai-!]
"Nope, not yet. Before I even think about starting to teach you how to use your aura in ways that I do, we need to find a place where we can find other people." Azure quickly stopped the over-excited Riolu, who ended up pouting in response. "Do you know if there's a city around here or something?"
[If I remember correctly, I'm pretty sure there's a smaller town nearby that leads towards one of the main cities. I think the city is called Cyllage City, though I have no idea about what the town is called.] Riolu answered as Azure nodded his head in understanding, he stretched his limbs and gave a long sigh and a small smile.
"Then that's the place we will go first. Though, I would like to catch a few more pokemon if I'm turning into a trainer as long as I'm stuck in this world." Azure nodded his head as he did have a plan at least, also added to the fact that when he woke up, he somehow had Pokedollars, which was the currency of this world.
That, of course, did lead him to believe that another power was the reason why he was in this world, you don't just normally wake up in another world with the money that you need to buy things. More less it coincidentally being placed right next to you upon waking up to the world. It just doesn't happen like that.
To add to that, he had easily recognised the other item that he ended up having when he woke up. That being a square-shaped device that was mainly red in colour, appearing to be that it had a blue screen that could be expanded within it. This was the Kalos Pokedex, which was easy to recognise as it was a rather unique looking Pokedex.
[Oh, don't worry about not having Pokeballs. I have two more.] Riolu replied as he suddenly took out another two Pokeballs from out of nowhere. Azure stared at Riolu in silence as Riolu stared back with blinking eyes. He then gave the pokemon a narrowed look of suspicion. [I-I didn't steal them! Technically... I just took them because people tried to catch me!]
"I'm just not going to say anything else... Let's just go."
[Alright!] Riolu nodded with a smile as he then climbed up onto Azure's right shoulder and sat on it as the male began walking out towards where he could see what he assumed was the sunlight. He would, of course, need to ask Riolu which direction he was supposed to go in afterwards, he didn't know.
He had a feeling this journey they were going to have was going to either be interesting, or strip him of his brain cells. Or maybe both at the same time.
"You said nearby, this is not nearby..."
[I don't know! I don't really ever leave the forest unless I have a good reason to, so I can't really be certain of these things.] Riolu shrugged as Azure sighed as they could now be seen walking through the streets of the same town that Riolu had mentioned to them not too long ago. It had taken a good bit of time to get here.
Around three hours of non-stop walking.
Azure had definitely gone far longer distances, so he wasn't seemingly the least bit tired at all from the walk, but he would have preferred if it was closer. While it is true his speed was far beyond a normal human's capability due to being a Nen user, but he wasn't nearly as fast as his friend Killua is. He couldn't cover that distance within a couple of seconds.
He also would have run the whole distance, but he was known for being a cautious individual, so he needed to be careful when showing his capabilities in front of people. He'll only do so if he needs to. Aside from that though, Riolu was still riding on Azure's shoulder as they walked through the town.
"Now, to find where in the world the Pokemon Center in this town is so we can see if we can rent out a room for the night." Azure muttered as he looked around the place to try and find a sign of a familiar orange roofed building. It shouldn't be too difficult as he was quite certain a Pokemon Center is quite unique compared to other buildings.
[When are we going to train, Azure? I want to learn aura!]
"We'll train at a later time, maybe later on today if you stop complaining to me." Azure deadpanned as Riolu blinked before giving a cry of happiness as he nodded his head vigorously. Azure rolled his eyes at Riolu's attitude as he gave the pokemon an amused smile before taking notice of something. "Hm?"
[What's wrong?]
"No, nothing is wrong. Just curious, look over there." Riolu turned his head as they both blinked as they seemed to see a pillar of smoke off in the distance, causing them both to raise an eyebrow in confusion. There was no panic, so he could only assume that it wasn't an emergency. "Wonder what caused that..."
[Who knows? Maybe there was just an accident or someone accidentally burnt something they were cooking or whatever.] Riolu suggested with a shrug of his shoulders as the pokemon then looked towards a nearby board that was displaying a bunch of different information. [Azure, look at that!]
"Hm?"
Azure turned his attention to where Riolu was pointing towards and blinked when he saw that it seemed to be some kind of advertisement for a competition of sorts being displayed on the news board next to them. Azure curiously walked over towards it as he looked to see it was displaying a bunch of information.
[Pokemon Battle Tournament]
Starting Time: 10:00 am
Registration End: 9:30 am
Number of Pokemon Permitted: 1
"A battle tournament? What about it?"
[Why don't we give it a shot and enter? I really want to see what opponents I can fight there!] Riolu said with excitement as Azure blinked at the pokemon, Riolu was definitely a battle junky, though he was kind of the same. [Plus, this would be a good opportunity for you to get used to battling!]
"I can't deny your logic about that, but doesn't automatically starting with a tournament a bit excessive?" Azure wondered with a raise of his eyebrow as he crossed his arms over his chest. Riolu just gave a wave in front of his face as if saying 'detail, details'. Azure rolled his eyes at this. "I assume you want me to compete?"
[Of course!]
"I guess I don't mind giving it a shot, so we need to get going to this place tomorrow." Azure said as he pointed at a marked point that was on a map placed next to the advertisement. There was also a date that was stated next to it as well, saying that it would start tomorrow. "But, first things first. We need to find a Pokemon Center. Also, I probably should buy some stuff if we're going on a journey."
[What does a Pokemon Center look like anyway?] Riolu asked curiously as Azure continued his walk through the town. Keeping an eye out for said building, Azure turned to look at Riolu as he placed his hands in his pockets before responding. "It should be a building with a rather vibrant orange roof, shouldn't be too hard to find. In fact, I think that's it."
[Eh?] Riolu looked forwards towards where Azure was looking and noticed that they were now walking towards what looked to be a decently large building with an orange rooftop, a symbol similar to a Pokeball design placed in front of the building. Azure smiled as he did recognise it, it was definitely what he was looking for. [Wow, it's cool looking...!]
"You'll probably like the inside even more. Hopefully, they have it air-conditioned."
As soon as they walked towards the doors, Riolu was surprised when the doors automatically opened for them as Azure was calm as ever as he walked through. Azure was pleased when he felt the rush of cold air hit against his face as he glanced his eyes around while walking, taking in everything that was within the place.
What he saw within the main lobby of the building were, of course, seating areas set up around the place for the many trainers, a good number of trainers already being seen scattered all around. He also noticed television screens set up with different programs being on display as there also looked to be a food area near the back.
Azure chuckled lightly as he saw Riolu looking around in awe, it did seem that the pokemon wasn't used to seeing all of this. Considering the fact that Riolu seemed to have lived within the forest his entire life, it was really no surprise that he had no interactions with things like technology and buildings like within cities.
"Welcome to the Pokemon Center, how may I help you today?" A cheerful female voice greeted Azure as he had walked up to the front where the main desk was. The person that had addressed him appeared to be a woman with vibrant pink hair that was tied into two hoops and was wearing a pink nurse's outfit. "Perhaps take care of your Riolu?"
She smiled brightly, which Azure always wondered how in the world the Nurse Joys in the pokemon world all managed to stay smiling so damn brightly all the time. He didn't really care about it since it wasn't really important. Nurse Joy bowed towards them as they approached before stopping in front of the desk.
"No, Riolu's doing just fine. I'd just like to rent a room if possible. Also, I was hoping that I could register for the Kalos Pokemon League here."
"Of course! We have a couple of rooms spare that are unoccupied." Nurse Joy smiled as she nodded her head. She then gestured towards a panel on the desk as both Riolu and Azure turned to look at it, noticing that it displayed the outline a Kalos Pokedex. "Just place your Pokedex onto the panel and it shall do the rest."
"Understood."
Azure then took out his Pokedex before placing it onto the screen, to which a loading bar appeared at the bottom that was slowly filling in. They waited patiently as the screen soon gave a beeping sound before a strange tune, to which the screen then lit up green. Azure took the Pokedex back as a mechanical voice played through the speakers next to the screen.
Azure from Motostoke City is now registered to enter the Kalos League!
The number of badges currently under possession: 0
We wish you the best of luck!
'Wait, Motostoke? Isn't that in Galar?' Azure thought to himself in a confused manner, though he hid his confused expression well as he just decided to ignore it, at least people wouldn't be suspicious if he didn't have a place registered of what his home town was. They would probably think he was homeless or something. Which he technically was.
Though, that did bring another thought to him as to how the hell did this Pokedex already have his information stored such as his name and stuff? What creeped him out the most was the fact that when it scanned the Pokedex, it had a picture of him displayed as well. Was it due to the person who brought him to this world? Most likely.
"Congratulation! You're now registered to participate in the Kalos League!" Nurse Joy had congratulated as Riolu pumped his fist with a determined look on his face, Azure just rolled his eyes with an amused smile at the pokemon. Nurse Joy then gestured to her left as they saw a pink coloured pokemon approaching them.
Azure recognised it to be a Wigglytuff, a pink and oval-shaped pokemon with a white stomach and short, digitless limbs. Having a large pair of round eyes and large blue pupils to go with it, it has a tuft on its head and long, rabbit-like ears. They saw that Wigglytuff was handing Azure a rectangular black case with a transparent top.
"That is your very own Kalos badge case, please treat it with care as it is where you will be storing your badges when you earn them." Nurse Joy explained as Azure nodded his head and took the case from Wigglytuff. Azure gave a small polite bow in response as Wigglytuff did the same back to him. "Here is your room key as well, you are staying in room six."
"Thank you, Nurse Joy. I appreciate the help."
"No problem! If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask!"
Azure stored away the Pokedex and also his new badge case before walking towards the stairs which lead up to where the rooms were as he stretched his limbs, cracking a few of them as Riolu jumped off of his shoulder and onto the floor and began walking alongside the young man as they headed towards their room.
[What are we going to do now?]
"Well, after I check out this room, we should both get something to eat at the food area back there in the lobby. Cause I'm hungry as heck right now."
It had been around only an hour later after Azure had registered for the Kalos League and could now be seen sitting down at one of the tables in the food area of the Pokemon Center, Riolu sitting on the table eating his own food happily. Riolu was eating pretty fast, Azure was only eating at a normal pace.
"Slow down, Riolu. Your food isn't going anywhere."
[Nah, I'm fine!]
"Whatever you say... don't blame me if you begin choking." Azure sighed with a shake of his head as he gave a small yawn. He looked out the window the Pokemon Center and noticed that it was already getting pretty late, so he doubted he was going to be going outside any time today. It was probably around six in the afternoon.
There was a couple of things he wanted to do tomorrow. One being that he wanted to go shopping for supplies like a backpack and some food materials, mainly because it seems like he would be going on a journey to collect badges. Second, being the competition that he ended up promising Riolu he would participate in with him.
He has yet to actually have a proper pokemon battle, so he would be lying if he said that he wasn't at least a bit nervous about it. But, he had a feeling it would be pretty easy to get used to as he had watched a bit of the anime, so it was a pretty simple process. A major reason for wanting to join the competition being that it would help Riolu. He could utilise the battles to help Riolu improve like he wanted to with his aura.
Speaking of which, he had another promise to fulfil.
"Well, finish your dinner quickly Riolu." Azure said as he finished his own and stood up from his seat before stretching his arms. Riolu looked at his trainer with confusion when he heard this. Azure noticed this and blinked a few times before smiling as he crossed his arms. "I'm fulfilling my promise to you. You wanted to learn about Nen, right?"
[R-Really?! Yes!] Riolu's expression exploded into happiness before he quickly began to chug his food down at lightning speeds. Azure could only sweatdrop at the speed in which Riolu could eat when motivated, even faster than Riolu was eating previously. It didn't take long before the plate was empty. [Alright, done! Let's get started!]
"... Okay."
