It seemed to be a quiet day for everybody. Homework was done, chores were done, and it was time to lounge around a bit.
"Hey, Patch," Cherry said, seeing the Dalmatian walk by. "Are you gonna go visit Tom, Jerry, and Robyn again?" she then guessed.
"Maybe," Patch replied. "Not a lot is going on around here."
"I know, right? It seems so peaceful." Cherry said.
"Yep, no adventures, no Drell dragging us away to an adventure, just seems quiet." Patch said.
"Yeah and that's concerning," Cherry replied. "But at the same time relaxing."
"Anyway, I'm off. Atticus is already there helping Robyn with her homework," Patch told her. "I'm gonna make sure Tom and Jerry don't do anything too crazy at the house."
"That sounds like trusting a bull in charge of a china shop." Cherry replied.
"Okay..." Patch rolled his eyes.
"I mean, those two have been getting into messes a lot!" Cherry then continued. "I'm surprised that Robyn and her father haven't thrown them out yet... Though, I guess they're good companions to her, like then you guys told me about that kid, Jonny Quest."
"Yeah, Jonny's pretty amazing," Patch nodded. "Well, I'm off. Are you gonna do anything?" he then asked her.
"Eh... I dunno..." Cherry shrugged. "I guess hang out at home until I'm suddenly snatched away for another new adventure. Let's be honest, going on an adventure to new friends and new places is just another Manic Monday at this point."
"You make a good point." Patch nodded before makes his way to Robyn's house.
"Hmm... Maybe I'll start writing a new story since it's a quiet day or at least until something crazy happens." Cherry said before going to start writing new story.
Patch hummed to himself as he made his way to Robyn's house. At the Starling house, Atticus and Robyn were going over homework material.
"So, Robyn, do you think you understand now?" Atticus asked the blonde girl.
"I guess... But I still hate Math..." Robyn pouted. "I kinda wish it would go away."
"Trust me, everyone who has ever gone to school wishes for the same thing," Atticus said. "But then how would you know how many apples you have after eating one?"
"Fair point." Robyn smiled.
They soon heard the usual fight between Tom and Jerry.
"They're at it again." Robyn sighed.
"Patch should be here soon." Atticus assured her.
"I wish they would stop that sometimes." Robyn frowned.
"Yeah, I know, but at least it's not as bad as it used to be before they met you and became friends," Atticus smiled. "You really made a difference in their lives."
"Thanks." Robyn smiled back.
They soon heard someone scratch at the front door. Robyn's father soon answered the door to see Patch.
"Hi, Mr. Starling." Patch smiled.
"Hello, Patch," Mr. Starling smiled back. "Please come in."
Patch soon came in and heard Tom and Jerry's fight and sighed as he knew what to do as he walked towards the chaos. Tom chased after Jerry who was holding a piece of cheese.
"Ahem..." Patch cleared his throat, coming between the cat and mouse.
Tom and Jerry then suddenly stopped what they were doing.
"What's up, guys?" Patch smirked.
"Oh... Hey, Patch," Jerry grinned innocently. "You want some cheese?"
"No, I'm just stopping a cat and mouse fighting before it can get worse." Patch told him.
"So I guess I have to put this back?" Jerry guessed.
Patch simply nodded with a smile.
"Yeah, I should have known." Jerry said.
"Besides, Robyn fed you not that long ago." Tom told the brown mouse.
"Nothing wrong with a little snack after a meal." Jerry shrugged.
Tom rolled his eyes a little bit.
"All right. All right. I'm going. I'm going." Jerry said as he went to go back to the fridge.
"So, any new adventures?" Tom asked Patch.
"None that I know of," Patch replied. "But it wouldn't surprise me if something suddenly came up," And just as he said that, a random book fell on the floor, making the young Dalmatian sigh to himself. "And I just tempted fate..."
"Guess this means a new adventure." Tom said as Jerry put the cheese back in the fridge.
"Yep." Patch nodded before picking up the book.
"What book is that, Patch?" Jerry asked.
"Let's see," Patch said before checking to see what book it was. "Oh, cool. 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes'."
"Wait, then does that mean what I think it means?" Tom asked.
"Yep." Patch nodded.
They soon went to Atticus and Robyn while they were finishing with the younger girl's homework.
"Hey Atticus, Robyn, take a look at what just appeared in the kitchen." Tom said as Patch brought over the book.
"All right, coming," Atticus smiled as he closed up the Math book. "That was a lot better, Robyn. And you've gotten faster."
"I still don't like Math." Robyn pouted.
"I can kinda understand that," Atticus replied. 'Now come on, let's go see Tom, Jerry, and Patch."
"Okay." Robyn said with a small smile.
And with that, they left, going over to the kitchen, though Atticus knew that this had to be the sign and start of another new adventure.
"What did you find?" Robyn asked as she knelt down to Patch's height and he soon gave her the book.
"It just appeared out of nowhere." Patch said.
"No doubt Drell sent it." Atticus said.
"Sherlock Holmes?" Robyn asked as she saw the title. "I've heard of this book, but I haven't read it. Isn't he a detective?"
"Yeah, Sherlock Holmes is considered to be the world's greatest detective," Atticus nodded. "Like when Cherry met Basil: The Great Mouse Detective."
"Can we read it?" Robyn asked.
"Sure." Atticus smiled.
"Patch, where did you find this?" Robyn asked the dalmatian.
"It just appeared out of nowhere in the kitchen." Patch told her.
"You know what this means?" Jerry asked.
"A new adventure?" Robyn guessed.
"Bingo." Patch nodded.
"So how does this work?" Robyn asked.
"Well, sometimes this means that we'll open the book and suddenly get sent to a new reality where we'll be part of the story," Atticus replied. "It happens a lot, especially when we're trying to relax."
"So no matter what, we have to go through it?" Robyn asked.
"Pretty much," Atticus said. "But don't worry. This should at least be fun!"
"Let's get this over with." Tom sighed.
"Come on, Tom; it'll be fun." Jerry smiled.
"If you say so." Tom said.
"Well, here we go." Robyn said. She soon opened the book before seeing a spell for them to read.
"Can you read the spell?" Atticus asked.
"Yes," Robyn nodded. "Should I?"
"Mm... I think you should," Atticus said with a small big brother-like smile. "It's your house and your book."
"Okay then," Robyn nodded as she took a look at the spell before reading it. "'Solving a mystery and rewriting history, This spell will make that adventure effective, Take us on a journey to see the world's greatest human detective'." she then recited before her final words echoed to activate the spell, sending them all on another brand new adventure.
And soon they went into the story of Sherlock Holmes.
The story soon started at night in London, but that wasn't when the group appeared, it was much later. A jewelry store was shown to be unguarded with no one knowing that one of the jewels would be stolen. Someone appeared to be using a steampunk contraption of some sort and cranked it up by hand. There was a plunger that was on a bow before the plunger was shot out and hit the window of the jewelry store. A slicer was then shown before cutting a hole through the window on the glass and the plunger soon went inside the hole from the cut glass to collect the goods inside of the store. There was even a laser light of some sort that was blasting through some of the diamonds before going to look for a special one in particular. Eventually, the perfect jewel was found and was soon grabbed by a mechanical hand before going back to the handler of the contraption. It was shown to be a cat, but he wasn't alone, as he had two friends with him as they collected the jewel.
"What?" A man muttered, showing to be an officer, seeing the crime and he then blew his whistle to call for help.
The three cats soon saw they were spotted before making a run for it as the police began to chase after them and as they kept running the three cats ended up at a dead-end in an alleyway or at least that's what it looked like as the police were hot on their trail. The cats soon hooked themselves onto something and where the first one soon shot a grappling hook onto the roof. The police soon arrived in the alleyway as the first cop blew his whistle.
"Stop, thief!" The first police officer told the three cats.
The three cats continued to run off before they soon ran into a dead-end at the end of the alley and it appeared to be the end for them... Though, it actually wasn't. Two of the cats soon hooked onto a metal belt with one of the cats before he took off suddenly, sending a grappling hook up onto the closest roof and hooked on right away. The police officers soon found the cats and ran right toward them, blowing their whistles.
"Stop, thieves!" One of the police officers called out.
The cats just smirked before they suddenly hopped high in the air with the grappling hook and made it up onto the rooftop. They soon ran off with the jewel in their hand as they took off, jumping from roof-to-roof as the police officers were unable to stop them before they slid down the roof and looked like they were crashing down in the middle of the ground. Soon, the cats pulled on strings, and they all suddenly had wings and began to glide through the night sky as someone was shown on horseback and was riding over. One of the cats dropped the jewel, allowing the man to catch the jewel suddenly before laughing wickedly in victory.
"Stirring performance, boys," A hooded stranger added, showing to be someone younger on his own horse. "We were very moved."
"Just one more to go, right?" One of the cats asked.
"Yes, one more to go, and this time, Sherlock Holmes won't be able to stop this plan." The hooded figure smirked.
The next day was shown as it was bright and early and where the group soon appeared in London, wearing clothes that would fit the time period.
"Where are we?" Jerry asked before seeing what they were wearing. "And what are we wearing?"
"Welcome to London!" Atticus announced before putting his hands behind his back and staring at the ground awkwardly. "Just get used to it."
"I'm not sure if I like this outfit much." Jerry said as he looked down at himself.
"You look rather handsome, Jerry," Robyn smiled, dressed similar to Olivia Flaversham. "I think I'm a schoolgirl though."
"Uh... You might be," Atticus replied. "Kinda reminds me of an outfit that Cherry showed me in her adventure scrapbook to show me adventures that she had without me and with some of her other friends or by herself. Like that time she was with Penny Proud and her family while I went with Jessica and our parents to meet Tarzan."
"So, where are we supposed to go?" Tom asked.
"I think we're supposed to follow Watson to where Sherlock Holmes' place is." Patch guessed.
"And how will we know when we see him?" Tom asked.
"Hmm... I think he'd be easy to spot, right Atticus?" Robyn asked.
"He should be based on my experience," Atticus said before looking around. "He must be around here somewhere."
A man was shown to be running before he suddenly ran into the group by accident.
"Yaugh! Watch it!" Tom yelped.
"Oh... I'm terribly sorry, children," The man said to them as he bashfully stepped back. "I'm afraid that I'm in a rush."
"We can see that," Robyn replied. "Maybe we can help you?"
"Perhaps," The man said softly before he looked down and quickly picked up the keys that he had dropped. "I'm on my way to see a man known as Sherlock Holmes. I'm sure you've heard of him."
"Yes, we have, sir." Atticus said.
"My owner even wants to be a detective like him: a true ace detective." Patch smiled.
"Oh, my." Watson blinked.
Atticus simply smiled sheepishly.
"So let's go and meet up with Mr. Holmes." Jerry said.
"...Any more surprises?" Watson asked, looking between Tom, Jerry, and Patch.
"Just one more." Tom spoke up bashfully.
"Sorry, sir," Robyn said sheepishly. "I guess you weren't expecting that."
"Not quite," Watson chuckled. "I thought it was just my imagination, though I suppose stranger things have happened in this world."
"Heh... True, true." Atticus nodded.
