It was summer vacation for all. Kids were getting out of school, some people were having barbecues in the great outdoors with their families, some people were camping out, and some people were even swimming in the water. Even The Neptunes were going to go on vacation, but for right now, they would be singing Cartoon Network City off to summertime down in the fields before the Summer Resort would be open for everyone to spend their summer vacation there if they wished. The Neptunes decided they should spend some more time with their families while they could, so they all made plans before their big gig tonight as a way to welcome summer into the city.
The stadium was getting set up while the people of Cartoon Network City were either having picnics or getting in the spirit of summer vacation. No one was more excited than the Eds though, mostly because summer vacation was always a great time for them to scam other kids and it was easier since they didn't have to worry about their studies or getting in trouble with the principal who would give them detention and Saturday School if they were dangerously unlucky. There were also rumors of a special event called The Summer Comedy Festival which was said to be very fun and very funny to be apart of, plus the opening of the summer camps: Camp Kidney and Acorn Flats when the scouts weren't selling beans or cookies during the school season.
There was even going to be a summer carnival and just a lot of fun, fun, fun for everyone in Cartoon Network City. The Neptunes were now getting ready in their hotel room as they had been there since very late last night and it would be the night of a lifetime since this would be their only show in the summertime due to planning vacations and going their own separate ways, but they promised to come back again very soon.
"Oh, Biff, can't we stay for Field Day?" Jolene asked her big brother. "It sounds like a lot of fun."
"It sure does, Jolene, but we can't, remember?" Biff reminded his little sister, lightly ruffling up her hair. "We have a plane to catch after our concert tonight."
"Oh, yeah..." Jolene said softly. "We're gonna visit Mom and Dad."
"That's right," Biff smiled. "We'll have a lot of fun with them. I promise."
Jolene smiled back a bit.
"Aw, shucks! I sure am gonna miss ya guys," Jabberjaw said to them before sighing. "Though I guess I'll be okay down at Discovery Isle to see my old pal Kenny and his new family."
"Sounds like a lot of fun, Jabberjaw," Jolene nodded. "You have fun on your vacation too."
"I sure hope to, Li'l Missy!" Jabberjaw chuckled. "It's gonna be great! Kenny and I were school friends, ya see."
"We know~" Biff and Jolene smirked.
"Well, I'm gonna go to Cheerleading Camp this summer," Bubbles giggled before she soon jumped in the air and landed in a split before putting her hands in the air. "Ready? Okay! 2, 4, 6, 8! Who do we appreciate? Us! Us! Yaaaay, us! Whoo-hoo!"
"KEEP IT DOWN IN THERE!" The Red Guy's voice scolded from behind the door, startling the blonde girl.
"Whoops!" Bubbles yelped before she stood back up. "I guess that was a little too loud."
"Well, I'm just gonna mostly spend some time with my cousins since we have our family reunion during the summer," Clamhead spoke up. "I'm sure that's gonna be a lot of fun."
"That does sound like fun," Jolene smiled. "Have a good time, Clamhead."
"Ooh, I know I will," Clamhead chuckled before smirking. "I'm the cool one of my cousins if you couldn't tell already."
"You could've fooled me." Shelly shrugged as she filed her nails.
"Shelly!" The others scolded.
"What?" Shelly shrugged in defense.
"Well... All right, Shelly... What're YOU gonna do this summer?" Jolene asked the black-haired girl.
"At least your adventures sound a little more exciting than mine," Shelly said to them. "I'll be with my family this summer."
"That doesn't sound bad," Biff replied. "Your family's pretty cool. Your Uncle Jesse's probably the coolest though."
"Yeah, I guess," Shelly shrugged. "We're gonna see Eric."
"Eric?" The others asked.
"Yes... Eric," Shelly replied like it was obvious. "What? I've never told you about him?"
"Uh... Not ringing any bells..." Clamhead blinked before scratching his head.
"That name doesn't sound familiar." Bubbles added.
"Don't think you ever talked 'bout him... Nope." Jabberjaw shook his head.
"...Really?" Shelly asked. "I never talked about Eric before?"
"No!" The others replied.
"So who is this guy?" Jolene asked. "Is he another uncle of yours? A long-lost brother? What?"
"...Yes." Shelly replied.
"Huh?" The others asked, feeling even more confused now.
"Not telling." Shelly smirked.
"Aw, come on, Shell... What's the big secret?" Clamhead asked.
"Hey, you can't call me Shell." Shelly narrowed her eyes.
"Sorry... Just asking a question..." Clamhead shrugged. "Anyway, can't you just tell us?"
"Oh, fine... I'm not telling you the full details, so don't get greedy, okay?" Shelly said to them.
Biff, Jolene, Bubbles, and Clamhead nodded to help reassure her.
"Very good," Shelly then said. "I'm going with my dad and sisters to see a family friend. A different family friend than Uncle Joey though."
"Your Uncle Joey?" Clamhead asked. "Isn't he your uncle?"
"Well... He is, but not by blood," Shelly replied. "Uncle Joey's just an old friend of my dad's and became a friend of Uncle Jesse's later in life. Uncle Jesse is actually our uncle though because he was Mom's brother."
"Ohh..." The others then said, now understanding.
"Yeah, his last name's even Gladstone." Shelly then added.
"Oh... Like Gabrielle Gladstone?" Clamhead guessed.
"Clamhead, we can never take you anywhere," Shelly shook her head and rolled her eyes a bit. "Different family."
"Man... Shelly's family is so confusing sometimes." Clamhead commented.
"Tell me about it... You should hear about my cousin Kenny who was adopted by a girl named Kat Cassidy down at Discovery Isle." Jabberjaw remarked.
"Anyway..." Shelly then said to get back on track. "I'm going with my dad and sisters to see an old family friend. Maybe he has a cruise ship 'cuz I was told about this friend of his Eric who wanted to sail out on the ocean and invited us to come and see him for an ocean adventure vacation."
"That sounds like quite the vacation," Biff smiled. "Wish me and Jolene could come along with you."
"Oh, I'd love that so much too, Biff~" Shelly cooed and smiled back, hiking right up against him. "The salty sea air in your hair, flowing... We could hold each other out on deck and reenact The Titanic with Leonardo di Caprio."
"Well, I hope if you guys ever do that, you do it without the infamous iceberg." Clamhead remarked.
"Yeah, we definitely wouldn't want that." Bubbles added.
"I hope you have fun with your parents," Shelly said to Biff before pouting. "I'll miss you very much."
Jolene stuck her tongue out a little bit.
"It'll be fine," Biff replied. "We'll miss you too though. Won't we, Jolene?" he then added.
"Yeah... I guess..." Jolene added with a small shrug. "Just try not to have too much fun without us."
"I'll try," Shelly smirked. "Though that might be an adventure itself when I'm out at sea with Dad and my three little sisters."
"Sometimes I wish I could have just one sister." Jolene commented.
The Neptunes gang laughed as they continued to bond in their hotel room for a little while longer.
Down at Cartoon Network City, everybody was getting ready to meet up for the Summer Comedy Festival. They even had their own little song to go with it as they were getting set up, especially with a stage as well as picnics being set up with blankets and some lawnchairs as well as various fun and games, especially for the upcoming Cabin Field Day. It was a bigger event aside from when Movement INK went into production to help motivate younger Cartoon Cartoon stars to get more active for a moment that The Mayor decided to intiate a project known as "Get Animated". The citizens of CN were preparing to get ready for the festival later, singing their own little song in their hearts.

"Oh, Ash, I'm so excited to be spending the summer with you," Ami beamed as she hugged her Pokemon Trainer boyfriend. "This is gonna be the best time ever. I just know it!"
"You said it, Ami," Ash smiled. "Me and Pikachu are excited too."
"Pika pi." Pikachu added as he sat on Ash's shoulder.
"Just remember that you don't Thundershock me in my sleep," Yumi warned Pikachu sharply with her hands on her hips. "And no getting Kaz either!" she then hid a small smirk. "Unless I say so."
"You just don't drink Pikachu's blood while he's sleeping." Ash retorted to Yumi.
"Whoa! Ease up there on the vampire slander," Yumi glared as she crossed her arms. "Or else you and me are gonna have some problems, Pokemon Boy."
Ash merely stuck his tongue out.
"Sheesh... Iris is right..." Yumi rolled her sapphire eyes. "You are such a little kid."
"Hey!" Ash complained.
"Oh, this is gonna be a great summer, I just know it." Ami beamed as she hugged Ash again, making him smile bashfully in response.
Yes, indeed. This was going to be an interesting summer. However, this adventure wasn't going to be solely focused on Cartoon Network City, it was going to be a very different story. A very different adventure as a matter of fact. Almost like a fairy tale.
"Come on, Double D! Toss the Frisbee!" June beamed to her boyfriend in excitement. "You can do it."
"Okay... I just hope I don't hurt anyone..." Double D sighed to himself before he got ready to toss the Frisbee. "Go long, Monroe!"
"Yeah! Yeah! Just get on with it, will ya?" Monroe asked, jumping up and down as he was a dog after all.
"All right, let's do it!" Double D nodded and soon tossed the Frisbee.
Monroe then ran after the Frisbee as it glided in the air and he soon jumped up to catch the flying disc in his mouth instantly. He then suddenly crashed into a picnic spot, disturbing the people there, though they didn't really seem to mind. Of all people, it seemed to be that Velma Dinkley and Mandy were hanging out and using some of Grim's Sunscreen as they were under their umbrellas with their books.
"Ladies, ya got enough suntan lotion?" Monroe asked them before picking up the Frisbee in his mouth, then walked off to go back to June and Double D. "I can always fetch some more!"
Johnny was even shown to be working at an ice cream truck as Lazlo was shown to be next in line, picking the flavor he wanted for his ice cream cone.
"Um... Is the Super Banana Bomb Pop made of real bananas?" Lazlo asked as he took his cone before licking it and looked hopeful until the taste suddenly hit him. "...Hey! Wait, this is tofu!"
Even young Robin Snyder was having fun with Mac, who was her cousin, as she met his imaginary friend gang aside from Bloo. She got to meet Wilt, Eduardo, Coco, and even Frankie as they checked out a very cool skate zone that came with slides and tubes that went everywhere. Yes, it seemed like this was going to be a summer to remember, but it would be a very interesting one for Biff and Jolene, but we will get to that part of the story soon.
Eventually, some time passed.
"This is pretty exciting," Mike smiled as she stood with Lu and Og. "I can't wait to see what The Neptunes have in store for us."
"Should be an interesting experience," Og replied. "I heard they're going away after tonight."
"Yeah, I heard about that too," Mike nodded. "Should be a lot of fun and we can have fun too, you guys."
"Sure... As long as you promise not to leave us for Nicktropolis again." Lu spoke up.
"That was an accident and you know it, Princess." Mike reminded.
"You're just lucky that Weasel didn't get you in trouble since we're not allowed to cross borders," Og added as a reminder. "We can't visit Nicktropolis and they can't visit us. No matter what."
"I know, I know," Mike nodded. "Don't worry, you guys. I'll probably never see those guys again anyway..." she then dropped her voice low to a whisper. "Though I wouldn't mind seeing Otto Rocket again."
A lot of time had passed and soon, The Neptunes made their way for the Summer Comedy Festival. There were a lot of laughs and fun going on for everyone. Grim was even getting in the spirit, even though he thrust himself too hard while playing guitar before his skull fell right off of his neck. He just shrugged it off with a small smile and said, "Rock on, Dude!" he then announced rather merrily, not being this excited since Springtime and the kids eagerly awaiting a visit from "The Easter Monkey". That's right, you read that right. Not The Easter Bunny, but The Easter Monkey, which is another story for another day.
"Good evening, Cartoon Network City!" Biff announced as he came on stage with Bubbles, Clamhead, Shelly, Jabberjaw, and Jolene. "Who's ready to have a rockin' and rollin' summer?!"
Everyone on the ground in the crowd cheered in very much excitement.
"I'm Biff Starke! This is my little sister, Jolene! And these are our pals: Jabberjaw, Clamhead Rogers, Bubbles Blowton, and Shelly Tanner!" Biff announced. "And we're..."
"The Neptunes!" The young band cheered together in unison.
The crowd then went even more wild as they thundered with cheers, applause, and screaming. They were definitely in for a treat that night.
"Now, I'm sad to say we won't be here for the whole summer to preform for you like folks like The Hex Girls or Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi or even Josie and the Pussycats..." Biff started to say.
"Awww..." The crowd growned as that made them a little sad.
"I know, guys, I know," Biff nodded. "But I'm afraid that we're gonna have our very own summer vacation, but we promise to be back again real soon. We're gonna give you a salute to summer, but after today, we need a vacation too."
"But don't worry, we'll be back so much," Jolene added. "You're gonna miss us, but you'll see us a lot more after our vacations."
"So much, you'll get sick of us." Biff then said playfully.
"So sick." Jolene added playfully.
The crowd seemed to laugh a little bit to that.
"All right! Let's hit it!" Biff called out. "5, 6, 7, 8!" he then counted and soon The Neptunes began to play their song to share with the crowd in CN City park.
"This one's for you, CN City!" Jolene called out as she began to play her saxophone to go with the song.
Biff played his guitar, Clamhead was on his trumpet, Shelly was on her tambourine, and Jabberjaw was, of course, on his drums. Everyone in the crowd erupted in cheers as The Neptunes played their music and had a very special song dedicated to Cartoon Network City as good times were shared all around.
"Come a little closer, we've got something new, Cartoon Network is the thing, that's gonna keep you cool, (Let's rock!)~" The Neptunes began to sing together. "With Puffy, Mandy, Mac and Numbuhs 1, 2, 3, Pleased to meet you Camp Lazlo and Juniper Lee!, (They're new!), Blossom, Lazlo, Lumpus, Wilt, Shaggy, Scooby Doo, Eduardo, Ed, Double D, Plank! Billy, Eddy, Bloo!, (Go!), Coco, Ami, Yumi, Ray Ray, Monroe, Buttercup, Madame Foster, Grim and Dexter, now you know what's up!, (What's up!), Temperature is rising on Cartoon Network Summer, hot new friends, all for you! Now you're getting warmer!~"
"Hey it's summer, with Bloo and Mac and me~" Bloo began to sing as he was in the crowd with Mac and Robin.
"You're Bloo!" Robin told her cousin's imaginary friend.
"We've got new friends, it's the best place to be!~" The Neptunes continued on the main stage.
"Aqui!" Eduardo added as he piped up.
"There's Foster's, Puffy, Billy & Mandy, Camp Lazlo. There's new Eds, and Ben 10, and Gym Partner, WHOA!~" The Neptunes continued to sing their special song for CN City. "Kicking it off with adventures with Ben 10! The cool kid who's all about superhero aliens~"
"That's my man!" Ashlyn chuckled as she hugged her boyfriend.
"Ain't no thing." Ben smirked as he hugged his girlfriend back.
"And all I'm saying is, you can't go wrong!~" Bloo continued to sing. "With Cartoon Network, all summer long!~"
The song then continued before it soon came to a stop as Biff finished off with an epic guitar solo. He then bowed his head as the music soon stopped and the crowd continued to cheer.
"Neptunes! Neptunes! Neptunes! Neptunes! Neptunes!" The crowd chanted in excitement and anticipation.
"Good night, Cartoon Network City!" Jabberjaw called out before laughing like one of The Three Stooges. "Nyuk-Nyuk-Nyuk~"
Soon, night came rather fast for everyone and The Neptunes went straight to sleep until they got up bright and early the next morning to get going to where they needed to go. The group each shared their individual goodbyes, though Biff and Shelly took a bit longer than Clamhead, Jolene, Bubbles, and Jabberjaw.
"I'm really gonna miss you," Shelly pouted. "Don't have too much fun without me while you guys are gone, okay?"
"We'll try, Shelly," Biff replied. "Besides, it won't be forever. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun with your dad and sisters."
"Sure... A lot of fun," Shelly sharply sighed. "Sure, you have Jolene, but try multiplying that by three."
"Shelly..." Biff playfully rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, I know, it's not that bad," Shelly replied. "Well... You have a nice visit with your parents anyway. It should be interesting."
"Tell me about it," Biff smiled. "And I know Dad's taking good care of Mom whenever he can."
"Hey!" Jolene called out as she sat in the Cartoon Network City bus, beeping the horn as The Mayor was sitting there, looking concerned. "Let's get going, Biff! I'm not getting any younger!"
"Sisters..." Biff playfully sighed and shook his head before he hugged the black-haired girl. "See you around. Okay, Shelly?"
"See you around," Shelly nodded as she hugged him back. "Call me when you get home, okay?"
"All right, I can do that," Biff smiled. "You call me too when you see your dad, uncles, and sisters."
"Deal," Shelly smiled back before shaking his hand and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. "Have a safe trip."
"I'll be sure to," Biff nodded as he collected his stuff and went to go meet Jolene in the bus. "All right, Jolene. Get out of the driver's seat. Mr. Mayor has to drive the bus."
"Indeed I do, young man," The Mayor nodded. "Ms. Bellum taught me how to drive, ya know~"
"Thank goodness." Biff whispered under his breath as he came to take Jolene over to sit down.
"Mom and Dad, here we come," Jolene smiled as she looked out the window from where she and Biff decided to sit. "I wonder what they have in store for us this summer vacation?"
"Who knows?" Biff smiled back. "It's bound to be fun."
And so, the bus doors closed as Biff and Jolene began to ride along together, heading right out of Cartoon Network City to go and visit their parents. Only time would be able to tell what sort of adventures they would get into over their vacation as The Neptunes decided to take vacations away from each other this year to stretch their legs and go see their families ago for a good decent amount of time, though Shelly still had a hard time adjusting to being separated from Biff, viewing him as her one true love.
