FRIENDS AND HEROES

Catra giggled to herself as she relaxed on the rooftops of Gotham City. Her most recent heist was a success, and she had lead the police on one hell of a chase this time. In fact, it didn't seem like any of Batman's sidekicks had caught up with her this time, so for the first time in a while, she was in clear. At least, that's what she thought before a shadow fell over her and she heard an irritated sigh.

"Seriously Catra, you had to pick today to be a pain in the butt." Adora deadpanned, sighing heavily.

"Hey Adora~" Catra giggled, sitting up. "What's the matter? You look annoyed."

"Because someone stole a Jade Catseye from a Jewelry store three blocks away." Adora replied, in a deadpan.

Catra feigned shock and gasped, "Oh no, who could have-"

"Just put it back." Adora replied in deadpan once more. "Me and Entrapta have a busy day today so I don't have time to deal with this." she explained, sitting next to her friend.

"Already have Adora~" Catra laughed out, before leaning into her. "So whatcha got that's so important?"

"Oh didn't you hear? Me and a bunch of other young heroes have our own team starting." Adora explained as she pet Catra's head.

"What like the Titans?" Catra asked, purring with the pets.

"Kinda. We don't have a name yet. It's Me, Entrapta, Perfuma, Apollo, Glimmer, Frosta, and Mermista." she listed off while counting them out in her head. "The heroes who were shown the Hall of Justice a week ago? We ended up getting wrapped up in a fight against Intergang using Alien tech and worked well together sooo..."

"So you guys made a team just like that huh?" Catra commented with a chuckle.

Adora just rolled her eyes and stood up. "Yeah and we're apparently going to be getting our new headquarters today. So please try to stay out of trouble?" she practically pleaded before checking her phone.

"No Promises Adora~" Catra giggled.

Adora sighed and rolled her eyes, before a text popped up on her phone. "And that's my cue to head off. Gotta drag Entrapta away from whatever she's tinkering with and meet the others." Adora quipped before flying off, waving at Catra as she did. She quickly got on her phone and called Entrapta. The phone rang for quite a while before she picked up.

"This is Emily, what's up?" the voice on the other end answered, sounding like she was typing something.

"Your name is Emily?" Adora questioned.

"Yeah Emily Dryl. This is Power Princess right? I figure if we're gonna be a team I can trust you guys with my identity." Emily replied cheerfully. "So what's up, Power Princess?"

"We've gotta meet the others to see our new base today. And...You can call me Adora, Adora Matthews." The half-amazon responded with a smile.

"Oh darn that's today? I'll meet you at the Statue of Justice in like, 5 minutes?" Emily replied sounding panicked. "I completely forgot that was today!"

"Distracted by your experiments?" Adora joked, flying towards the statue.

"Yeah I was working on a new suit using that shard of Parademon armor I grabbed...turns out it's nearly impossible to replicate, who knew." Emily admitted, still speaking as quick as ever. "Anyway I'll meet you there, bye!" The phone clicked as Emily hung up before Adora could respond. She could only chuckle about her new friend as she landed on the statue and Waited. Eventually, she heard the familiar sound of Emily's jetpack, and the hyperactive hero landed nest to her, flipping up her mask to reveal her face. "Sorry I'm late!"

"No problem there Emily." Adora said, finally getting a good look at the face of one of her comrades. "I wonder if anyone else is gonna tell their civilian identities?" She wondered out loud as the two took off into the skies.

Outside Star City:

Angie and Winter were already waiting outside what would be officially declared their team's newest headquarters, bored out of their minds. They awaited in a forested area directly adjacent to a lake, and the two had decided to arrive in casual clothing, seeing as there weren't really any secrets they needed to keep from their team, but were already regretting arriving Early. Their mother, Angela, was there with them, along with the Trinity of the Justice League.

As they waited, Angela decided to speak to Diana, due to their shared history. "It's been far too long Diana. I see you're doing well." she commented with a smile.

"Indeed Angela, I'm happy to see you and Michael doing well for yourselves." Diana replied, patting her former comrade on the shoulder. "Its very good to see some of the old team again."

"Indeed, there's very few left of our generation." Angela admitted. "But I daresay, the Justice League are worthy successors to the old Society."

Superman spoke up, looking over. "Well, we're doing our best to live up to your Legacy, Light Hope."

"You've all done a good job, better than us even." Angela replied calmly, before Angie let out a loud groan.

"Where is everyone?!" she yelled annoyed. "WHY did we show up early!?"

Winter chuckled, "This was your idea Sis. Blame yourself." she teased.

Before an argument could break out, Adora and Emily landed nearby, Emily flipping open her mask and Adora magically changing into casual clothing. "Hey Glimmer, Frosta." Adora said with a wave.

"Actually it's Angela Moon Jr and Winter Moon." Angie said motioning to her sister. "You?"

"Adora Matthews and Emily Dryl." Adora responded as Emily looked at the huge building in front of them.

"Is that it?" She asked.

Winter nodded, "We're just waiting for the last three. Then we'll explain it all." she told the excited tech hero.

Shortly after, Mermista burst out of the water and landed gracefully on the ground, still in her official garb. Bloom arrived as well, sliding along a vine in a beautiful flowery dress, and Bow was dropped off by his fathers. Introductions were quickly made, though Mermista continued to insist everyone call her by her title rather than her name. Angie, for her art, was speechless at the sight of Bow's face. He was a lot cuter than she was expecting. She must have been staring though since Winter soon jabbed her in the ribs with her elbow and smirked. Unknown to Angie, she wasn't alone in her crush...because Bow was just as flustered seeing Angie without her mask for the first time.

Everyone's attention was quickly redirected as the veteren heroes called over to them. "Welcome, young heroes, to your new base of operations, for as long as you act as a team." Superman began, "I'd like to thank the Moon family for their contributions. Angela, if you would?"

Angela stepped forward next, Bow's eyes lighting up at the sight of a former JSA member. "I would like to welcome you all to The Brightmoon Summer Manor." She declared, motioning to the Mansion the group had gathered in front of. "This is a Summer Home my family owns, but we don't really use. My daughter Angela Jr suggested repurposing it into a base of operations for you young heroes, and with the help of the Justice League, we've retrofitted it with everything you will need." She lead the group inside, and the young heroes were awed by the sheer size of the mansion. "It is spacious enough for you each to have your own room, plus more room in case your numbers increase. We've made sure to fully stock the pantry, and kitchen as well, however you will have to handle restocking. We've also repurposed the gym as a fully functional training room, similar to the one the League has aboard the Watchtower. We've also synced the mansion's computer systems to the Watchtower database, as well as set up Zeta Tube stations connected to the League's Zeta network, allowing quick transportation to and from the manor." Angela and the three League members lead them into an open Lounge and hit a button to reveal a massive supercomputer, which immediately caused Emily to nearly faint.

Batman continued with explanations. "You will be allowed to track criminal activities on your own time, but we will also be sending you investigations that the League feels you are ready to take on." He explained as he showed the seven how to use the Supercomputer. "We will usually have at least one member of the League Available to act as Liaison to the League, as well as keeping an eye on you. Any Questions?"

Bow raised his hand, and everyone's eyes looked to him. "Well, Batman...sir…? Who's in charge of this team?"

The league members looked at one another, and Batman responded, "Figure that out among yourselves. You'll need to discuss your team name regardless."

"Well!" Angie began, striking a heroic pose. "As the Daughter of one of the greatest superheroes of all time, It's OBVIOUS I should be in charge." She triumphantly announced….and everyone simply stared blankly at her.

"No offense….well...actually ALL the offense. But No." Mermista replied, completely deflating Angie.

"Yeah sis you're annoying enough at home, I really don't wanna deal with your bossiness here too." Winter added.

Emily looked up from the computer system she was examining and pointed at Adora with her hair. "I mean Adora over there is an Amazon, she'd know a thing or two about working as a team." She said before going back to her work.

"Yes, Miss Matthews would be a wonderful choice." Bloom added, smiling brightly at Adora.

"I uh… Well..." Adora stammered, suddenly surprised by being volunteered.

"Come on Adora, you're the best choice." Bow commented, patting her on the back.

"Yeah, I would LOVE to be lead by a real Amazon!" Winter cheered, rushing closer to Adora.

"I have no complaints." Mermista deadpanned.

Angie, despite pouting a bit, sighed and nodded. "Yeah...you guys are probably right…." she groaned, miffed at losing her chance to shine.

"I...well this is a bit of a surprise but….alright, I'll do what I can." Adora finally said, smiling in spite of her nervousness.

"Now all that remains is what you call yourselves." Diana stated. The seven heroes looked at one another and all smirked. "Which It would appear you've managed to figure out?"

"Yeah, we did. I still say Super Best Friend's Squad was a cool idea..." Bow began.

"it wasn't." Interjected Mermista.

"But we've decided on the name, 'The Power Alliance' for the time being." Bow finished.

"Even if Bow here doesn't HAVE Powers, the name is quick, to the point, and explanatory." Winter added.

The Leaguers nodded and Superman spoke up next. "Now all that's left is to make it Official. Meet us in front of the Hall of Justice later, and the Leagyue will officially announce the Formation of the Power Alliance."

Days later in Metropolis:

Lex Luthor stood in front of his window, reading the Daily Planet before calmly discarding the paper aside. "Power Alliance Forms." he said, repeating the headline he had read, before scoffing. "It would appear to me Metahumans continue to crawl out of the woodwork, don't they, Mercy." He turned to face Mercy Graves, his Bodyguard/chauffeur, who nodded as she stood at attention by his desk. Lex took his seat, leaning forward and crossing his hands in front of himself. "Still...they could be entertaining. How is progress on our little diversion."

"We managed to locate one of your candidates." Mercy replied, sliding over a datapad showing a masked figure. "The Witch. We just need a means of convincing her to join your project."

"She'll join us. She's ambitious, seeking power. I'm sure that Wotan's magic will be able to give her what she desires." He slid the tablet back over. "What about the Octopus."

"Tracking her and her forces down has proven very difficult I'm afraid."

Lex chuckled, "Well when we find her, I'll simply recruit her same as I did to earn Manta's loyalty. A promise to kill her hated enemy. How about our little experiment at Cadmus."

"Project Scorpion is progressing nicely, although they've had a few issues with the subject's military potential. She's….evidently too nice."

"Idiots. I'll have to pay the good Doctor a visit and show him how to do his job correctly." Lex sighed in annoyance.

"We've also scouted two potential brawlers for the team. An Amazon and a Mutated human."

"You are referring to Lashor's muscle, aren't you? Yes I've had my eye on those two for a while." Lex admitted.

"Then all that remains is a capable leader."

Lex chuckled, looking up with a sinister smirk. "I've already found a suitable candidate."

To Be Continued…

FUCK it has been a WHILE huh? Hoo boy have I got some explaining to do….

Okay so I'm active on another site for Fanfictions, everything I've posted here I've also been posting to Archive of Our Own, which is where my friend Penumbranox primarily posts. Recently, me and him have been collabing on a She-Ra story over there which is an AU of his Catra Redemption AU, and over there I HAVE been keeping on schedule ^^; So, until that story finishes there may be occasional large hiatuses in my uploads here on , so I apologize in advance. If anyone is interested in supporting my new story over there, find it at Archive of Our Own, entitled "A Game of MAgicat and Mouseling" (would post a link but I don't appear to be able to...)

On happier news, I've gotten a third friend into She-Ra as well, and with him watching the show with us, we've gotten 3 episodes into Season 4 by now. So that's fun! Onto the Chapter notes.

This was just a for-fun filler episode to introduce the new base of operations and the team name! Yay! Also Lex Luthor has plans. Points to anyone who can guess every member of his upcoming team.

DC and She-Ra belong to their respective owners. No Spoilers please.

Leave me some feedback if you're enjoying the story. I love hearing from you all.

NEXT TIME: The First Real Mission.
