Eventually, the field trip came to an end. Dylan and Eve continued to stick together before looking over as Cherry and Cathleen were about to say goodbye after a busy time together.
"Thank you so much for coming," Mother Superior smiled at the two. "The kids look like they had a good time."
"They sure seem interesting and somewhat familiar," Cathleen remarked. "Thanks for having us."
"Of course," Mother Superior nodded. "I'll see you around then."
"See you, Mother Superior," Cherry replied. "Have a good day and send my love to the fairies back at the church."
"Yes, of course," Mother Superior agreed before she soon left, taking the kids back with her. "All aboard to the bus, kids! Remember, stick with your buddies!"
The kids soon began to get ready to go as Dylan and Eve kept an eye on Cherry and Cathleen.
"So, you wanna go back to the inn until you have that nightly appointment of yours with Granny and Ruby?" Cherry suggested.
"Sure," Cathleen nodded. "I don't know what we're gonna do about the Hanna-Barbera Zoo, but we'll think of something."
"Hopefully at least," Cherry said as they walked off together. "This Fallen Leader is getting closer. I can feel it."
"Yeah... Hey, Cherry? Do you know anyone named Malcolm from when you were in Storybrooke all the time?" Cathleen nodded before she then decided to ask.
"Malcolm... Malcolm... Malcolm..." Cherry repeated as she paused to think a bit. "...That name sounds familiar, but I can't place it right now. What did he look like? And did he say what story he came from?" she then asked in return.
"No... He said he knew about us because of Dylan, Eve, and Henry though," Cathleen explained. "He said that he knew you though and about your adventures."
"Hmm... I'd have to check my database to make sure," Cherry shrugged. "I just can't think of where I remember that name. I mean, I've known a lot of people from their stories and for being cursed here from Regina's curse as The Evil Queen to destroy Snow White and Prince Charming's happiness."
"Right..." Cathleen nodded, still remembering what Malcolm told her. Part of her wasn't sure whether to trust him or not, but another part of her was telling her to listen to him. After all, he made a pretty good point about Cherry knowing Storybrooke and the adventures better than she did and she probably had no business being here, even if she was told about being a Toon Savior. She decided not to talk about it much though until she had some more information, but she wanted to show that she wasn't weak and could help out if she had to and wanted to.
They soon met up at the inn to plan a bit further before they would do anything else and before Cathleen would have to go meet up with her fellow Lycans.
"So the Hanna-Barbera animal characters are forced to become zoo animals, a lot of the Cartoon Cartoons have menial jobs and normal people things in the background, such as Eddy interning at Gold's pawnshop, and I've met certain animals at the shelter with David," Cherry said as she was making a plan in her notebook. "I feel like we have to round them all up somewhere and help them get their memories back somehow."
"Is there a big place for people to meet up at around here?" Cathleen asked. "Like an auditorium or Town Hall?"
"The Town Hall might help with the many people we have to meet, or there's Granny's Diner," Cherry suggested. "I just don't know how we'll show them who they really are and how to get them to remember."
"I guess that's the hard part," Cathleen replied. "What did Henry do to make everybody remember who they used to be in The Enchanted Forest?" she then asked.
"Well, he had a book that Mary Margaret gave him right before he left here to go to Boston to find his birth mother, Emma," Cherry explained. "She didn't know where it came from as it just seemed to appear randomly one day so she gave it to him to help cheer him up and it told him the story of how when she was Snow White and when David was Prince Charming and how they had to send Emma away after she was born to become The Savior of Storybrooke which motivated him into finding her and helping her break the spell."
"I see..." Cathleen then said.
Cherry then suddenly gave herself an idea. "...So we'll need a book," she then said thoughtfully. "Something that would help out in finding more about Cartoon Network and sharing it with the characters and help them remember who they are."
"Do you think maybe that history book we found might help us out a little more?" Cathleen asked.
"It couldn't hurt," Cherry replied. "Of course, it took Henry a lot of time and a lot of crazy coincidences in order for it to help restore everybody's memories. They couldn't believe just right away of course."
"Then we'll just make them remember." Cathleen smirked.
Cherry narrowed her eyes. "You're not gonna go 'Wolf' on these people just to get what you want?" she then asked. "I mean, such as threatening that you'll have them for their dinner or that you'll do something scary just to put the fear of God into them?"
"Would I do that?" Cathleen shrugged innocently.
"Actually, yes, you would," Cherry replied. "You always decide that violence is the way to go just because you're a werewolf. I mean, Granny and Ruby are both wolves, but they don't go around threatening people, especially Granny since the Wolf in her began to fade with age, but she still has a strong sense of smell."
"What're you saying?" Cathleen glared as she was being lectured about her behavior which was something she did not want from her best friend of all people. "I'm getting too much for you to handle? Maybe you can't take the heat."
"Don't make this into an argument, Cathleen, I just want you to use other skills than resorting to violence or risky situations because you can scare the crap out of people," Cherry defended, trying not to get angry. "Don't let the darkness control you, you have to control it or it'll control you."
"Don't you demand to get what you want from people and if they don't listen to you that you'll bleed them dry?" Cathleen retorted.
"No, actually, I don't," Cherry defended. "I don't drink blood unless I absolutely need to, like if I'm running out of energy or if there's any donated blood I can come across. I'm not a monster."
"So that's what you're saying? I'm a monster?" Cathleen asked.
"No, I'm not saying that all, but if that's going to be your tone, then the door is right there and perhaps you should cool down a bit and take some time to yourself before you meet Granny and Ruby." Cherry suggested, her tone getting firmer, but not angry just yet.
"Oh, so I'm grounded now?" Cathleen snorted. "You gonna report me to the authorities or something if I don't come along quietly?"
"Get out of here until you have properly cooled down," Cherry suggested, though not yelling at Cathleen as she had been pushed over the edge and didn't want to do this, but she felt that she had no choice. "All I ask is that you tone down your Wolf side around some people and not resort to such violence all the time and use your other skills and not be a show-off just because you don't want to be seen as weak. I'm trying to help you and I wanna have fun with you, but you have to learn how to cool down and take it easy, otherwise, no one will want anything to do with you if you're just going to have a hair-trigger temper and be a hard ass to people."
"...Gosh, Cherry, don't sugarcoat it," Cathleen mumbled, shifting in her seat a little before she stood up with a huff. "I guess I will leave if that's how you're going to be. See ya." she then said firmly before storming off suddenly.
Cherry blinked as she watched Cathleen get up and go before storming out the door and slamming the door shut. She winced slightly before sighing and shaking her head. "That girl is just going to end up destroying herself one of these days..." she said to herself before she looked down at her notebook. "Might as well go visit the family if she's going to be going out for the day."
Soon, the two had split up. Cathleen was shown to be leaving the inn in a huff as she nearly had fire in her eyes and stalked off as Cherry was on her way to whipping out her phone to make a phone call. Malcolm seemed to watch what Cathleen was doing before smirking and he dashed away to a special hidden location.
Eddy was shown to be at the pawnshop and was sweeping up the floor.
Gold was watching him before looking at the time and nodding from behind his counter after hearing the honking of a car outside. "Very good, Edwin," he then said. "You may go now."
"Sweetness!" Eddy grinned as he put the broom away once he finished up his work before he approached the counter.
"I'll see you again tomorrow," Gold told him before looking over to see Eddy at the counter. "I think I hear your parents outside. You don't have to wait with me."
"No, no, it's not that," Eddy replied. "It's the second Tuesday of the month, sir." he then reminded.
"Ah... Right..." Gold smirked then once he remembered and soon went to the backroom. "Please excuse me for a moment. Many interns aren't supposed to receive paychecks, you know."
"That's stupid..." Eddy scoffed under his breath as he waited while looking around.
After a few moments, Gold came back over and took out a piece of paper for the boy after signing it. "Here you are, Edwin," he then said lightly. "Don't spend it all in one place and by that, I mean you shouldn't spend your money on just jawbreakers with your friends."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, gimme!" Eddy replied, going to reach out.
"Ahem!" Gold firmly cleared his throat as he brought the paycheck just out of his reach. "What did we talk about the week before last when I halted in giving you this?"
"Oh... Uh... 'Please, sir, Mr. Gold, may I have my paycheck'?" Eddy then asked, trying to sound polite.
"There you go," Gold smirked and nodded before giving the paycheck back. "I just want you to remember where you are and who you work for. Bad manners won't get you everywhere." he then added before glancing over as Cherry made it over to the shop as he heard the ringing bells from his front door.
"I know that's the truth." Cherry commented from where she stood.
"See ya!" Eddy told his boss before running out the door, nearly pushing Cherry on his way out and soon came to his parents' car once he was done for the day.
"Man... How do you put up with that for an after-school job?" Cherry asked Gold as she approached him after the boy left and she closed the door behind her.
"It's a bit difficult to tolerate, especially since I had no choice after the new curse was cast by this Fallen Leader of Cartoon Network, but I do my best," Gold replied as she came over. "How are you today, dearie?"
"Fine." Cherry said in a shallow voice.
Gold raised an eyebrow. "Dearie...?~" he then probed a bit as he knew that she was the opposite of her answer.
"...Okay, fine," Cherry sighed as she knew that she couldn't lie to him as he could smell a lie like a fart in an elevator. "...Cathleen and I have had... Some issues."
"Care to share?" Gold offered to her as she soon sat on the stool that came with his prized spinning wheel.
Cherry sighed sharply as she looked over at him softly. "Well... We had an idea to round up the Cartoon Network people in a big location so we can help restore their memories and share the Cartoon Network history book with them like Henry did with that Once Upon a Time storybook back when you all didn't remember being from The Enchanted Forest before he brought Emma into Storybrooke," she then began to explain. "And... Well... She wanted to make them remember and she seemed kinda wolfy when she said that and I just wanted to make sure that she wouldn't be forcing people to doing stuff, such as threatening them or showing her Wolf side just to get her point across." she then added.
"I see..." Gold said thoughtfully then. "I take it she's done that on some past adventures you've had with her."
"Yeah..." Cherry nodded as she began to remember her adventures before coming here on Cathleen's birthday. "I mean, I know Batman interrogates people a bit dangerously sometimes, but that's just Batman... That's how he works. I guess that's just Cathleen's nature of being aggressive and a beast just to get what she wants and she gets spoiled on some adventures."
"I see..." Gold repeated, sounding a bit tighter that time. "Yes, she seems to have a dark streak inside of her just so she doesn't come off as being seen as weak."
"Yeah... She says that a lot of the time and don't get me started on what she would do around my other friend, Atticus," Cherry replied. "It just seems like unless she's the main focus, she kinda gets spoiled or bratty about being in the spotlight or wanting attention and she doesn't care who gets hurt in the process as long as she can come out on top."
"I think we all know someone like that..." Gold narrowed his eyes in familiarity before sighing. "Well, Cherry, I think that you guys just need to take a break to gather your thoughts and eventually apologize. I know it seems hard and what she does are some things you don't like, but maybe if you talk things out, you can reach an understanding and stay friends."
"I guess..." Cherry shrugged. "Sometimes she would say things whenever I felt like something bad was about to happen and I'd scold her, but she began to feel like she was being bullied and she ended up crying and I gave up and just said 'Never mind'."
Gold sighed sharply and shook his head. "Dearie, that's emotional blackmail she's doing," he then told her gently before he put his arm around her as he approached her and the wheel. "You need to look after yourself too. If she doesn't understand that, then I'm afraid she needs to be let go. No one is more important than you, not even me," he said with a light chuckle to help lighten the mood. "But creativity and adventures need to be equal, not one-sided, which it seems like she feels more important."
"I just wanna tell her in a way that doesn't hurt her feelings." Cherry said softly.
"Well, if you want until you're ready to cool down, I'll help give you a way to talk to her and if you want, you can spend the night with us," Gold suggested. "We'll make that chicken and rice dinner you like so much and you can see Aurelia."
"Well... I guess I could do that," Cherry said before she looked up at him. "I haven't seen in Aurelia in a long time."
"I thought that would be nice for you," Gold said with a small smile. "A little family reunion. It just sounds to me that you and Cathleen need some time apart before you save Cartoon Network and Storybrooke together."
Cherry cracked a small smile at him. "Thanks, Goldibear," she said lightly then. "You always know just what to say."
"You can thank the women who raised me," Gold smiled back. "I'll finish up here and then I can close the shop early so you can come with me back to Belle and Aurelia."
Cherry beamed a bit, feeling better already so far.
MEANWHILE...
"You have returned..." A dark voice said as Malcolm made it over to where he was supposed to be.
"Yes, I did," Malcolm replied. "The Wolf Tomboy took the bait and she seems to be having a rough time with The Perky Goth Vampire. What is the next step?"
"We'll think more about that later," The voice said before showing it was none other than The Fallen Leader. "They're not apart of us and you're a rogue from Storybrooke, so there's time to plan, especially with my close comrades to make Cartoon Network pay for what they did to us over 20 years ago."
"Yes, of course," Malcolm replied. "And I'll have my own part in the revenge because of what Storybrooke did to me."
"Of course," The Fallen Leader told him. "I knew that you wouldn't disappoint me, even if you didn't come from Cartoon Network."
"Let's just say when it comes to me, I never fail," Malcolm smirked evilly. "And I'll make sure that you never fail either~"
"Very good..." The Fallen Leader nodded. "Now get ready to go and see Cathleen again. These tasks are like candy to you."
"Oh, absolutely," Malcolm chuckled. "They're as easy as shoving Cherry's head down a toilet. I'll get ready for the next step."
"Yes, yes, go," The Fallen Leader agreed. "I'll get ready for my next step too. This is almost too perfect."
"You reign will be seen in the near future," Malcolm reassured before grinning. "You made the right and smart choice in trusting me~"
"I'm glad I did," The Fallen Leader nodded. "Now off you go."
Malcolm nodded before smirking as he soon seemed to fly away suddenly despite not having wings or superpowers, though he did have one special thing that one would need to fly without those things. "Just remember to think Happy Thoughts~" he told the Fallen Leader before disappearing into the darkness.
