Interlude: I'm Too Sexy

Mary Jane's Loft

"What!?" said Peter as he stood there looking between Johnny and Mary Jane.

"We were about to make out and of course you just had to show up and ruin the moment." Said Johnny playfully.

Mary Jane scoffed.

"No, that is not what was about to happen Johnny." She replied.

"Well, I was about to make my move and I'm pretty sure that's where it was gonna go."

"Again, not where this little talk was going." She said

Johnny stood up from the couch and walked over to Peter and looked him over taking note of the bruises on his face.

"Sheesh Parker, it looks like the Shocker got the drop on you." Said Johnny.

"Wait, you saw our fight?" Peter questioned.

"Some of it yeah, it's all of the net and tv."

"And you didn't help?"

"What, I figure since you're the amazing spider-man that you'd be able to handle it. I didn't think you'd want me sticking my flames into something that's totally your thing." Said Johnny.

Peter shook his head.

"Fair enough." Peter replied.

"I've got a questioned did you block or move at all?" Johnny asked.

"I dodged plenty, but he upgraded himself somehow." Peter replied.

"Yeah, judging by that shiner you got he must've upgraded to over 9,000. Heh."

"I don't get it." said Peter.

"It's a dragonball refer…nevermind, you look like sh** is what I'm saying." Said Johnny, "How about you go into the bathroom fix yourself up so me and Mary Jane can make out."

"Again, that's not what was happening!" MJ shouted.

Peter nodded his head.
"I'm gonna go vomit in the toilet now, so you two can continue whatever this is." He said.

"There is nothing to continue. Johnny, I said all I've needed to say so you can go now." Said Mary Jane.

Johnny opened his mouth to protest but at that moment the four on his chest started to beep loudly. He touched the four and the clothes he was wearing transformed into his Fantastic Four outfit appeared.

"Torch here." He said.

"Hey, baby bro we gotta a situation over here, apparently some sort of secret alien society is in space trying to steal the power of the sun. If they succeed, Reed says that the sun will collapse and turn into a black hole and kill all life on earth. It's time for the Fantastic Four to go to work, meet us at the stratosphere. Invisible Woman out."

Johnny went towards the window.

"I'll talk to you later MJ." He said.

"Hey, do you guys need any help?" Peter asked.

"Umm, no this is a Fantastic Four thing, just like you handled your thing this is ours we don't need any help but on the off chance we do we'll call you. Maybe. Probably not." said Johnny before jumping out the window and igniting into flames and flying away.

Peter and Mary Jane watched him go before turning back to the other. She was about to say something when her cell phone rang loudly. She said a curse before grabbing her phone out of her pocket.

"Hello."

"Mary Jane darling where are you, the photo-shoot is in twenty minutes!" came a frantic voice on the other end.

Mary Jane smacked herself on the head and looked towards the calendar that was on the wall and there in a big red circle were the words Vogue photo-shoot. She had completely forgotten about it.

"Crap, listen Carey, I'm on the way. I'll be there in fifteen minutes." She said.

"You better be. I'll stall them till you get here."

Mary Jane hung up the phone with her agent and she quickly grabbed her purse. She wanted to talk to Peter, but he had already went to the spare guest room and from her spot she could see that he was sound asleep on the bed still in his black and white costume. She started over towards him and grabbed one of the covers and placed it over him.

'I'll talk to him as soon as I get back. I swear, as soon as I get back, we'll talk that's a promise.' She thought to herself before turning and rushing out of her loft.

Thirty Minutes Later-Manhattan- Somewhere in Midtown

Click! Click! Click! Came the sound of the camera's that were surrounding the models that were huddled together. Each of them were young, slim, fit and absolutely gorgeous, but none more than the one that was out in front, the girl next door, Mary Jane Watson.

Mary Jane flipped her luscious red hair over her shoulder and struck a pouty face and a strong pose. The camera's set up around them flashed and the photographer grinned.

"Ladies you are all beautiful. Mary Jane, darling you drive me wild. I love that pose stay just like that for a few more clicks eh." He said in a thick British accent.

She did as she was told and after a few more clicks she rotated to the left and let the blonde hair model that was next to her out in front, however even though she was not in front anymore she could still tell that a few of the other cameras were still fixated on her. Even the looks from the camera men and few of the makeup ladies told her that all eyes were still on her. And she did not mind it at all.

She was the next top model, at least that's what the whisperers were saying and the people that were in the fashion industry; even after only being in the business for a about a year and a few months her career had suddenly exploded. MJ struck another pose as she thought about how much of a whirlwind her life had become, how she had gone from the girl next door to the budding supermodel and tv star. It was not long after, the incident.

The Past- Several Months Ago

Mary Jane wiped a tear away from her eye as she stared the head stone that belonged Gwen. It had been no more than about three weeks since her death and not a day that went by, she did not think about her, and about how she died.

When she closed her eyes, she could still see the Green Goblin plunging his hand through her chest and then throwing her over the bridge. It was sickening and heart wrenching.

"Gwen." She whispered.

The tears flowed freely and this time she did not wipe them away. She let them roll until it became too much to bare, and she turned away from the grave and started to walk. It was a cool evening in the city that never sleeps and so the weather was right for a walk and that is exactly what she did, she walked, and walked. There was no particular thought on her mind other than the need to get away from the grave she had been staring at.

It was about an hour or so into her walk that she finally came to a stop, and she just so happened to find herself in Times Square amongst a throng of tourist and genuine New Yorkers. Although there were hundreds if not thousands of people in the area going this way and that way, she still felt so…alone.

A flash of the Green Goblin's deranged face and Gwen's mangled body crossed her mind, her hand flew to her chest as she felt her breathing quicken. All of the noise around her increased to the point where she could not even hear herself think. The young lady quickly made her way to a quiet area of the street, which happened to be a dead-end alleyway.

Mary Jane leaned against the dirty and grimy brick wall, and she took slow deep breaths trying to stop the panic attack that was coming on. In and out she breathed and after a minute she had managed to avert the attack. He kept coming to her mind, all day every day since the incident and she had prayed to the god above to somehow take away the memory, but it stayed.

She needed a distraction.

BAMMMMMMMMMMMM! Came a loud sound to the right of her. Mary Jane jumped at the sound, and she turned to see an attractive red-haired woman dressed in a renaissance like dress storming out of a back entrance.

"LOWSY LOW LIFE, STUPID! I HAVE NO TALENT! PLEASE THIS SCRIPT IS TERRIBLE!" the red-haired girl screamed.

Mary Jane watched with mild interest as the girl briskly walked in her direction. She threw her red-haired wig along with a wad of papers to the ground, and she grabbed a pack of cigarettes from her purse, she lit out and took a long drag and blew out the smoke.

She stopped at the edge of the alleyway, and she closed her eyes reveling in the hit of nicotine. The blonde-haired woman opened her eyes and she looked at Mary Jane.

"What the f*** are you looking at." She demanded.

"You, okay?" Mary Jane asked.

"No, I just tried to audition for a role in a play and those fat slobs in there said I had no talent. I've got talent! I've got so much talent! But you know what, I'm sick of New York, this place is a cesspool of sleezy directors and pretentious playwrights, not to mention there's just too much distraction here. I am going to back L.A."

The woman flicked her cigarette away and she walked away leaving Mary Jane alone in the alley. She looked down towards the fallen script and she picked it up. The red-headed beauty glanced up at the open door where she could hear voices and so she started towards it and then entered the building.

Inside

Mary Jane walked towards the stage where there were several people standing around. She spotted one person that she assumed to be the director because he was yelling at one of the stage hands, and she could hear the stress in his voice. She glanced around the whole production and could see that it was some sort of old English play complete with guys dressed as knights, a few as squires, peasants and some women had on dresses or rags.

"She was the last one! Oh my god, this was supposed to be my big break into the New York Theater scene and now we have no lead actress! Just what else can go wrong today!" The director yelled before turning around and staring at Mary Jane, "Who the hell are you!? Wait are you the coffee girl?"

"No. I'm not the coffee girl but, is this play still open for auditions?" she asked.

"Can you act? Have you ever acted before? Can you even read?" The Director asked curtly and with a hint of frustration.

Mary Jane scoffed.

"Yes, I can read just fine. Yes, I have some experience acting. I took some acting class during High School, and I even landed a couple of small parts in a few amateur plays around town but none of them really hit big or anything." She replied.

"But can you act?" He asked.

Mary Jane looked at the script in her hands and she put a confident smile on her face.

"If auditions are still open, I'll let you decide if I can act or not." She said.

The director looked at his watch and he shrugged his shoulders.

"What the hell? We've got till Friday to get this right. ALL RIGHT EVERY RESET! We're gonna give ms…. What's your name?"

"Mary Jane Watson." She said.

"We're gonna give Mary Jane a shot so places everyone. Just read off the script and give me everything you got. The scene is this, you just walked in to find your best friend has been murdered by another one of your friends. I'm looking for emotion, I want you to breathe life and emotion into his character, really connect with her so the audience can connect with her."

Mary Jane looked over the words that were highlighted from the discard script and for a moment Gwen, The Green Goblin and Harry crossed her mind.

"I think I can do that." She said.

"Good. Now show me what you got Mary Jane. Places everyone, places, this is a dry run to see what's what. Lights! AND ACTION!"

Present- Photo-shoot

Mary Jane and a dark-haired model around her age stood side by side posing against a brick wall. They both put a smile on their face as the cameras snapped their picture.

"Beautiful, absolutely beautiful, the two of you are just too sexy." said the Photographer.

Mary Jane half-listened as he told her and the other girl to strike another pose on the wall. Her mind was preoccupied with how the whirlwind that is now her life began. It was after that fateful audition that things started to turn positive. She rocked the audition, and she was offered the part by the director.

The days and the weeks that followed were a bit of blur, rehearsal after rehearsal but it thankfully gave her something to think about other than the tragedy of the incident and the fact that Peter was no longer himself. She was making new friends and she was learning more about acting but it was not until the day of the play that some real change happened. It was after the play had done its first showing to a rousing success that through a series of events, she had met Johnny in the unlikeliest place.

Mary Jane winked at the camera just as the memory came to her.

Then- Manhattan

Mary Jane smiled as she and the other crew members of the play took another bow. The crowd in front of them clapped and whistled and they all basked in the adulation of a job well done. The red curtains closed, and they all turned to each other and hugged one another because of how far they had come in just a few short weeks. MJ was surrounded by people who were congratulating her, and she thanked them however in spite of the fact that she was once again surrounded by people and love she still felt alone.

The sound drowned out and all she could hear was her breathing and it felt like the walls were beginning to close in again. She quickly excused herself from the others and headed for the dressing room. Once she was there, she leaned against one of the makeup desk and she tried to control her breathing hoping to cut off the panic attack that was coming along. She did not understand why this was happening especially because she was happy. She was happy that her play was a success but even though it was it just did not feel right.

She had always hoped that whenever she got her big break that the people most important to her would be there, right in the front row; Gwen, Harry, and Peter and yet all three were in the wind, leaving her there…. alone.

MJ collapsed into one of chairs as she started to hyperventilate. At that moment one of the other actresses in the play entered the dressing room and saw her at the make-up desk.

"Oh my god, are you okay?" she asked frantically.

"N-NO…I-I don't know." Mary Jane replied out of breath.

"Okay just breathe, just breathe, in and out. There you go, in and out. You're having a panic attack, my baby brother used to have them all the time, it'll pass, but you have to slow your breathing." She said.

Mary Jane nodded her head and did her best to cast the thoughts of her friends from her mind. The more that they drifted from her mind she could feel her breathing beginning to slow down, until she was back to breathing normally.

"See, there ya go."

Mary Jane looked towards the girl that helped her, she was a few years older maybe twenty-one or twenty-two, but she had strawberry blonde hair, fairly tall and slim and she was very attractive. The two of them had a few scenes together in the play but she did not really know her. It took her a second, but her name finally came to her.

"Thanks, Lorina Dodson right." Said Mary Jane.

"Yeah, that's me but please, not so formal, Lori is just fine." Lorina replied, "How long have you had panic attacks?" she asked.

"Not long, it just happens at weird times. I was fine but right after the play ended I…. I don't know."

"When my brother used to get them, our therapist used to say stress thoughts could set them off so it must've been something really stressful." Said Lori.

Mary Jane heaved a heavy sigh.

"Maybe, but it's a helluva way to end a good night."

Lori chuckled.

"The night isn't over; this is our big break our big ticket to fame and fortune! We need to celebrate!"

"I-I don't know if…." Mary Jane started before being interrupted.

"Trust me after a panic attack the best thing to do is de-stress, so another does not come along. A bunch of us are going to this roof-top party to celebrate the play's success, and you're coming with me. There'll be music, producers, photographers, and hot guys. It's just what the doctor ordered." She said with a big smile.

Mary Jane wanted to say no but she had to admit a party sounded pretty good, another distraction away from the gnawing pain in the back of her mind that her friends were no longer around. And so, she nodded her head to Lori who jumped up and down like a kid in a candy store.

"Yes! Get dress and let's go!" she shouted.

Chelsea- An Hour and a half Later

Mary Jane and Lori laughed loudly and then clinked their glasses together before tossing back their third hit of alcohol. It was a warm but breezy night, and the roof-top party was alive with people, the music was loud, and the party guest were young and beautiful. A handsome man in his mid-twenties walked up to the two of them and he started talking to Lori. The red-haired beauty walked away from her new friend and looked towards the people, some she recognized as semi-famous people from movies or television shows or commercials.

She did not know exactly who was throwing the party but whomever the host happened to be was someone to know in the entertainment scene, because the condo with the outside patio was absolutely gorgeous and expensive. MJ turned from the people, and she looked out over the edge of the roof-top and into the city that never sleeps. The lights looked like stars and the sounds of laughter and mingling filled the air.

'Just breathe in and out.' She thought to herself, 'Enjoy the night, it's so beautiful and…is that a shooting star.'

Mary Jane squinted her eyes as she saw a bright orange light high in the sky. It was easy enough to spot because the sky was clear. The bright orange light curved through the air and then dipped low between two buildings. MJ watched intently as she saw someone emerge from the alley in-between the two buildings, and it was someone she knew.

"Johnny." She whispered as she saw the unmistakable Fantastic Four blue uniform.

She saw the uniform change into civilian clothes, and he put a hoodie over his head before he started down the street and to the church that was at the end of the block.

"HEY MJ!" came a shout.

Mary Jane turned around to see Lori pulling on the guy she had been talking to towards her.

"MJ this is a friend of mine, his name is Bradley. He's an actor as well as a male model and he was telling me of open call for female models. And I told him I have a couple of friend who would love to try out."

Bradley looked MJ over and he let a smile grace his handsome face.

"I think you'll fit in nicely with the crowd that's coming to the shoot. You are just way too sexy."

"Thanks." She replied.

Mary Jane smiled back at him, and she had to admit that he was handsome, and she was interested in modeling but while he and Lori were talking, she could not help but think about Johnny and the church down below. The voices around her drowned out again and she thought about the last time she had seen him. It was at the funeral. He was there along with the rest of the Fantastic Four. He had tried his best to stay strong, but she remembered his soft sobbing as they lowered her down in the ground.

Mary Jane remembered how he had yelled at his sister the Invisible Woman and then burst into flames and took off to the sky. She briefly wondered where he had flown off to, but it ultimately did not matter. He had his own way of dealing with grief.

MJ was snapped back into the conversation by Bradley handing her a card with a name and address on it.

"Be at that address tomorrow morning." He said.

Mary Jane took the card and she winked at him.

"I'll be there handsome." She replied.

Bradley's smile grew just a bit, and it did not go unnoticed by Lori who was quick to jump in-between them and grab him by the arm

"Well okay!" she shouted, "It's all settled, MJ we'd love to stay and chat, but this handsome hunk owes me a dance. I'll catch up with you later."

Lori led Bradley away however he did cast one last look at Mary Jane before heading to the dance floor where a few other people were dancing. She reached for another glass of champagne that was on one of the tables and she took a few sips and while she was enjoying the party and the success of her play, she was curious as to what Johnny was doing at a church, because from she remembered of him and what Gwen told her he was not exactly the religious type.

MJ finished off her glass of champagne and when no one was looking she slipped away from the party and towards the elevator, her curiosity had gotten the best of her. The elevator took her to the bottom floor where she quietly left the building and she headed in the direction of the church that was down the street.

It was an old church at least from the outside, which could use a few new renovations, but it still looked like many people visited it on Sunday mornings. The walkway was clean, no leaves or trash in front or around it. The bushes and foliage around were trimmed nicely and the windows shined, even in the night light.

Mary Jane went up the few steps and she opened the door.

Inside

Mary Jane heard clapping as soon as she stepped inside. It was coming from the right and so she ventured down the hall and towards a small classroom where there were about twelve people sitting around in a semi-circle facing a chalkboard. On the board written in the chalk were the words: Grief Counselling.

Mary Jane stood in the door-way until the leader of the class, an older gentleman by the name Wilson, noticed her and waved her inside.

"Come on in, you do not have to be shy." He said.

MJ looked around the room until she spotted the hooded and tinted glasses wearing Johnny Storm. She thought he would shy or turn away but instead he gave her an awkward wave because he knew that while his disguise could fool the people in the class, they would not fool her. They knew each other

"There are chairs in the back next to the donuts and coffee, grab one and join us." Said Wilson.

"I think I'm in the wrong place." She said softly.

Mary Jane put a nervous smile on her face and was slowly about to back out of the room but Johnny clearing his throat caught everyone's attention.

"No, you're in the right place." He said.

Johnny stood up and he walked towards the back of the room and grabbed a chair and set it up right next to him. He then waved her over. Mary Jane hesitated for a moment but ultimately, she slowly made her way over and sat down next to him.

"John…" she started before he interrupted her.

"Sean." He corrected in a whisper, "While I'm in here my name is Sean."

"Um, okay, Sean." She replied.

Wilson got everyone attention again and he addressed the gathered individuals.

"Now, I believe we were discussing the next step of this particular journey of grief that all of you are currently travelling. Grief over the loss of a loved one to be more specific. As we discussed last week it is never an easy thing, especially if it is sudden loss or perhaps even if we know that the loss is impending it does not make it any easier. It can sometimes make it harder to deal with and that much harder to recover from, but we must never stop trying. And that is the key to never stop trying, putting one forward and maybe night moving past the loss but learn to accept it. And once you accept that loss is an inevitable part of life only then can you truly live. I want to try an exercise. I want everyone to turn to the person next to them, look them in the eye and say: Loss is a part of life and accepting it is the only way forward."

Johnny slowly turned to face Mary Jane who looked back at him.

"Is this guy for real?" she whispered.

Johnny took his shades off of his face and then gently took her hands into his while looking into her eyes. She stared at him for a long moment neither saying anything at first until finally he repeat the words.

"Loss, is a part of life and accepting it, is the only way forward." He said softly and sincerely.

Mary Jane scoffed and wanted to pull her hands away but there was something about the way he looked at her and the sincerity in which he delivered the words that kept her rooted. She could feel a lump growing in her throat and a brief image of Gwen crossed her mind. And she had to turn away from him.

"You're supposed to say it back MJ." He said.

"I would…. if I actually believed it." She replied before slowly taking her hands away.

Johnny heaved a sigh, as Wilson gathered everyone's attention again.

An hour later

Mary Jane and Johnny Storm emerged from the church together, neither saying anything just letting the words of Wilson and grief roll around in their head for a bit. They both started down the sidewalk away from the church. It was Johnny who finally broke the awkward silence.

"So…come here often." He said.

MJ chuckled a bit and turned to face him.

"How did you find out about this place? I mean my sister was certain that no one in our circle would know I'd be here." He said.

"To be fair, I'm not exactly in your circle. And I'm only here because I was at a roof-top party, and I saw you flying and land in that alley."

Johnny smacked himself in the head.

"That's what I get for trying to rush. I usually land a few blocks further and walk but I was running late because of an FF thing. Stupid. I wonder did anyone else see?"

"Well, everyone was pretty drunk at the party. I was on my way to that level when I saw you and curiosity got the better of me. I'm not really attending the class."

"You should." He said.

"Come on Johnny, that guy in there was joke." She replied.

"No, he's not. Okay, not everything he says in complete gold but hey it's a start. I'm tired of feeling angry all the time, I'm tired of feeling this big gaping hole in my heart but honestly, I'm just tired of feeling alone. I know I have my sister but this…even after my father died, I was sad but I managed bounce back, this time though it's different. I feel as if Gwen and I bonded on a deep level. She could've been the future Mrs. Storm but there's no chance of that happening now, and so I'm alone."

Mary Jane nodded her head because she could understand exactly what he was saying. She had been feeling that way since the incident too. It was nice to know that there was someone out there that felt similar. She was about to responded

"HEY! IT'S THE HUMAN TORCH!" came a shout.

Johnny and MJ both turned to see a small crowd of tourist looking people behind them. They all had their camera's and phones out taking pictures. The crowd quickly started for them each of them yelling and asking for an autograph from one of the Fantastic Four. The two of them looked at each other.

"Your adoring fans are everywhere." She said.

"Yeah, the dark side of fame." He replied before grabbing her hand and running down the street.

"WAIT! I CAN'T RUN IN HEELS!" she shouted.

The two of them made about a block and a half before Johnny's suit changed to his Fantastic Four uniform, he quickly scooped her up and took to the sky. Mary Jane was scared at first when they took off, seeing the buildings suddenly rushed pass her but once they were in the sky and the city lights twinkled below she relaxed.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"Anywhere but here." He replied with a cocky smirk.

Mary Jane could not help but smile, as they curved through the air and further into the city that never sleeps.

Present- Photo-shoot

Mary Jane sat off to the side sipping on some water while letting the make-up girl touch up her face a bit. The photographer had finally let her take a small break before she would have to start back up with more posing. However, her mind was elsewhere, thinking back to that night where she and Johnny first bonded. He had flown them to a restaurant in Chinatown. The owner had been abducted by the Mole Man and after being rescued by the Fantastic Four they were allowed to eat there whenever they wanted. They ate some delicious Chinese food, and both did their best to steer the conversation away from Gwen and to more positive things like her successful play.

After a few bites the two of them headed further downtown to a club that he frequented, and at the party were models and a high-profile celebrities. She remembered that when they landed Johnny strolled through the front door like he owned the place. Once inside he got them some drinks even though they both were underage, and they partied.

"NO! NO! NO! NO!" came a shout.

Mary Jane looked towards the British photographer who was yelling at one of the models and pointing towards the door.

"Mary Jane! Mary Jane darling, I need your presence over here!" he yelled.

MJ sigh and took a sip of water before heading over but while she was doing that she thought back to that particular party with Johnny. They ended up closing the place down.

Then- Downtown Manhattan

The music boomed so loudly that the whole room felt like it was shaking as if an earthquake was happening beneath them and yet no one cared. Everyone, from the DJ all the way to the people serving drinks was dancing to the fast pace beat of the music. All of the voices mixed together, and the heat was palpable. The lights were flashing and everyone was enjoying the here and the now. The past did not matter nor did the future only the present.

Mary Jane laughed as she moved to the music; her mind was finally at ease and the problems of yesterday and today had already melted away. The anxiety and pain of missing Gwen, Harry, and Peter were gone and all that mattered was the party. She and Johnny were in the middle of the dance floor with other beautiful people dancing wildly.

The minutes turned to hours until all of a sudden, the lights stopped flashing and bright flood lights turned on. A sweaty Mary Jane and Johnny Storm looked around as did everyone else that was still on the dance floor to see the DJ shrugging his shoulders.

"Hey, party people it's time to go home! That means, get the hell out!" he shouted.

"AWWWWWW!" Everyone groaned.

Mary Jane looked at her watched and her eyes widen at the time.

"It's four thirty am." She said.

"Seriously! We've been in this place that long?" He replied.

"I guess so."

The two shared a laugh before heading for the exit with the rest of the crowd.

Once they were outside the two shared another laugh before looking in two different directions.

"I'm this way." She said.

"I'm the other way. Do you want me to give you a lift home?" He asked.

"No. I can manage to find my way home. It's not the first time I've pulled an all nighter and I'm sure it won't be the last. I want to thank you Johnny, tonight was fun. And it was exactly what I needed."

"You're welcome, I'm glad I could help but you know you should think about coming to another meeting every other Thursday. I said it before, but the guy doesn't always give gold but it's a start in the right direction to coming to terms with what happened."

"I'll think about it." She replied.

Johnny reached into one of his pockets and he pulled out a small Fantastic Four emblem and he placed it in her hand and closed it.

"If you ever want to hang-out again or if you change your mind about the meetings give me a call."

Mary Jane nodded her head and took a step back just as Johnny burst into flames and took to the sky.

Present- Photo-shoot

Mary Jane, fondly remembered how that was the start of her and Johnny becoming closer friends. And how because she partied so hard with him the night before that she barely made it to the photo-shoot on time the next day. It was there that she met René, a world renown freelance French photographer for a majority of the top modeling agencies and magazines. He met her and fell in love with her personality and looks and from there he put the word out to everyone in the business. And then everyone wanted to work with her.

The TV roles rolled in, more play offers came in and all through it she continued to hit the party scene and every so often Johnny Storm would be there with her dancing and partying the night away. And on a few of the nights that they partied beforehand they had gone to a meeting at the church. It seemed to be helping Johnny more than her, but she was a kind person and sometimes she allowed herself to listen to the lessons Wilson was teaching. However, there was a great deal she was keeping hidden, namely her inability to sleep properly.

She had mentioned it to Johnny, but she did not go into the details, because while he understood that Gwen was dead. He was not there that night. He did not have the image of the Green Goblin seared in his mind. The only other person that could truly understand how she felt was Peter.

"ALL RIGHT EVERYONE THAT'S A WRAP!" shouted the Photographer.

Mary Jane and the other models let out a sigh as the Photographer told them that he was done for the day. He congratulated them on another successful shoot, however he made it a point to make it known that she was the apple of his eye.

She thanked him for the praise but made sure to congratulate all the other models that had been there with her for the last several hours, standing in heels, striking poses, and standing for long hours. And she thanked and congratulated the make-up and wardrobe crew.

Mary Jane and the others started for the dressing rooms where they changed out of the lingerie or the fashionable name brand clothes they had been modeling and back into their normal outfits. Mary Jane checked the time and realized that the shoot lasted longer than expected. She was exhausted.

She had partied all night the night before, she then could not sleep, went to school, fought off a stalker, had a long talk with Johnny about why they could not date, and finally she had finished a long shoot. Her insomnia was beginning to wane because she could feel sleep calling her. The day had been long, but it was purposeful. She could not wait to get home.

Thirty Minutes later- MJ's Loft

Mary Jane entered her loft and she started for the kitchen. She opened the fridge and grabbed one of the last pre-made smoothies. She then closed the door and she headed for room, her eyes were growing heavy with each step, but before she was out of eye shot, she looked to the left and she saw the guest room.

From her spot she could still see Peter sprawled out on the bed sleeping. She honestly did not want to disturb him because he had not slept the night before either.

"Tomorrow. Yeah, definitely tomorrow." She said to herself.

Mary Jane then proceeded to her room where set her smoothie down on the night-stand by her bed and then laid down on the plush queen-sized bed. She let loose a long sigh as the feather like bed formed to her spine. She stared up into the ceiling for just a moment before her eyes closed and she fell into a dreamless but peaceful sleep.

End Interlude: Read and Review: Hey there readers it's me Nomad88 coming back with the closing comments. I hope everyone enjoyed the interlude. A lot of people have been asking me to put a chapter with just Mary Jane, and little did those people know I already had something like that in mind. LOL

I hope everyone enjoyed the peek into her life and her mindset at the moment, and how she and Johnny sort of got close. I know many people are also upset with their dynamic but hopefully this chapter sheds some more light on how things can sort lead to one thing but not necessarily another thing. They are not really in a relationship, but they do have a close relationship. Again, I know many people won't like it but I like it and I am having fun with their dynamic.

Also MJ's role in the story going forward will be an interesting one. She's entering the entertainment and fashion world and that world can sometimes clash with other things. There could be famous men and women after her because of her looks, she could be asked to get close to people because she has easy access to them. I don't really want to spoil too much but there are a lot of possibilities that I'll be trying to explore with her and maybe some of these possibilities could get a little dangerous…thankfully she's kinda rooming with the Amazing Spider-Man, right.

Anyway, I'm hard at work getting the next chapter out. I hope to see you loyal readers there, this is Nomad88 saying later.

Next up: Kraven Returns
