My Pov

It had been a few weeks since my encounter with the Rowdyruff Boy known as Bane. I know he's my enemy and I shouldn't be worrying if he's ok... but I am. All that pent up sadness. I could feel it under all that rage. I just hoped I could avoid running into him for right now. As I flew around doing my patrol, I looked ahead and skid to a stop. It was Bane! I quickly hid behind a building, hoping he didn't see me. I peeked out and noticed he was looking around. He then flew down into an alleyway. I carefully and quietly followed behind him. I peeked and saw something I didn't think I'd see. Bane was playing with a puppy. It was a brown puppy with dark brown floppy ears and orange eyes. The puppy's tail was wagging a lot, showing it was happy. Bane patted the puppy on its head.

"Good boy." Bane said. He was smiling. Not a evil smile or a sarcastic smile. A real, genuine smile. That's when the puppy's ear perked up and looked in my direction. Bane followed his gaze and spotted me. "You!" He zipped toward me and grabbed me by the collar of my dress. He slammed me against a wall. "What are you doing here? Spying on me?"

"I'm patrolling! I'm not spying on you!" I exclaimed. His glare seem to bore into my soul. The puppy's barking broke his attention from me. He let go of me and went back to the puppy. I noticed how he instantly relaxed as he petted the puppy. "He's cute." Bane glared at me.

"I don't need your opinion." he snapped.

"Sorry." I mumbled. I swayed back and forth before speaking again. "What's his name?"

"I don't know. He comes when I yell 'buddy' though." Bane answered. At the mention of the word buddy, the puppy started barking and running around in a circle. I giggled a little.

"He must think Buddy is his name." I said. Buddy then ran up to me and sniffed around me. He then stood on his hind legs and put his front paws on my legs. I nervously looked at Bane, seeing if it was ok to pet Buddy. Bane narrowed his eyes, but turned his gaze elsewhere. I guess saying it was ok. I joyfully patted Buddy and even rubbed one of his ears. "It's really nice to see you smile." I slapped my hands over mouth. Bane looked at me with a confused look on his face.

"Excuse me?" he asked.

"I-I-I just mean that you were so sad before and it's good that you've found something that makes you happy!" I stammered.

"Sad? Who said I was sad?" Bane asked, sounding completely lost.

"I can feel it. I know you hate my sisters because they 'destroyed' your brothers, but they didn't know that what happened was going to happen." I said.

"You're treading on thin ice right now Powerpuff." Bane said.

"I'm just saying that I know my sisters, while they may not show it, are sorry for what happened. However, your brothers started the fight and put many people in danger just to get at my sisters." I said.

"So they deserved to be blown to pieces, is that what you're saying?" Bane asked, gritting his teeth. I quickly shook my head and held my hands up, ready to defend myself.

"NO!" I yelled. I seemed to surprise him and Buddy. "I'm just saying that I wish there was something I could do to help you." I said.

"Unless you have the power to bring back the dead, not really sure you can help me." Bane said. I didn't. Bane picked up Buddy and started to float away before turning to me. "Thanks." He flew off. Thanks? For what? Talking to him? Maybe having someone to talk to helps him relax. Mojo's probably not the caring creator that Dad is.

Bane's POV

I held Buddy close to me as I flew back to Mojo's dome. I had to be careful not to let Mojo see Buddy. I quietly snuck through the dome and let Buddy into my room when-

"BANE!" I quickly slammed the door. I flew out to the living room. Mojo was pacing back and forth.

"Yes?" I asked.

"How has your spying on the Powerpuffs progressed?" Mojo asked.

"It's progressing fine." I simply said. Really, I wasn't observing the girls like what I was suppose. I observed how happy they were. How their creator, Professor Utonium, didn't treat them like subordinates. He treated them like... his children. Like they were his flesh and blood. They laughed together, played together and spent time together. I noticed how he treated them too. He took care of them when they were sick or hurt, comforted them when they were sad and even encouraged them whether they succeeded or failed at something. Mojo was nothing like that. He just barked orders at me and scolded me every time I came back defeated. I felt envious a little. Could that be why I couldn't beat them? Because of all that... love they had?

"Well, then. Continue to observe them and find when they are most vulnerable. That is when you strike." Mojo said. I simply nodded and started back to my room. "Oh, and one more thing." I stopped and looked at him. "I expect that mutt you brought with you to be gone by tomorrow. You do not need distractions." Mojo then went off to do whatever it was he was working on. I glared at him, but said nothing. I went back into my room, slamming and locking the door. I heard a whimper and saw Buddy hiding under my bed. I knelt down and motioned for him to come out. He walked to me and I hugged him.

"Don't worry Buddy. Mojo's not going to hurt you. I won't let him." I said, patting his head. I floated up to my bed, placing Buddy on the bed, before covering myself with the blanket. I tried my best to fall asleep.
