Prompt: Forest
After a tearful call to her Mother, Kagome picked up her things. Sesshoumaru carried Takara downstairs, having made the effort of dressing in a forest green hoodie and loose pants.
"Thank you… for stopping me last night," she mumbled. "I would've regretted it this morning.
His eyes dimmed. "You're welcome."
Kagome caught him by the arm. "I don't want to regret anything with you. I'd like to stay in touch- if that's alright."
Stay with me, he wanted to say.
"Me too."
But his place was no environment to raise Takara.
They both deserved warmth. Kindness.
He had nothing to offer.
