They took a taxi through Tokyo, tension stuffing up the inside of the car. Sesshoumaru glanced at Kagome's stiff shoulders, resting his hand atop hers.
She jolted, glancing at him. She was finally going home- but mixed emotions warred in her watery eyes.
Sesshoumaru stared, mesmerised.
"Did your boyfriend have any family or friends?" he said.
"H-he never introduced me to anyone and said his family were all dead. Why? Do you think someone will come looking for us?"
"It is possible. I will patrol the area around your home for a few days."
Kagome gripped his hand tight with relief.
