It's a sunny day on the Plantar farm, Anne, Andy, Sprig, and Lily are sitting on the roof. "This is it guys new season, new adventures." Anne said.
"I'm so excited! We get to leave the valley, maybe I can find out more about my past." Lily said excited.
"Oh yeah. You don't know much about your parents?" Anne asked.
"I wish. Master Hanzo found me when I was a pollywog." Lily said.
"Well we'll do that and find our way back home." Anne said.
"So are you guys over the Sasha incident?" Sprig asked.
Both Anne and Andy thought back at the events that occurred at Toad Tower. "I'm fine." Anne replied.
"Yeah same here." Andy said.
"Hey Andy why were you being nice to Sasha? I thought you hated her?" Anne asked.
"I guess there was a part of me that wanted to be friends with her. Plus she had food that wasn't bugs." Andy said.
Then Hop Pop and Polly both came in with Bessie the snail attached to a wagon. "Whoa!" Sprig, Lily and the twins all replied as they got climb down the roof.
"Hop Pop what is this thing?" Sprig asked.
"Impressive isn't it? This here's an all-terrain, custom-modelled, family wagon. Calling it the Fwagon." Hop Pop said as the rest of the group gave Hop Pop a deadpan look.
"We're not calling it that." Anne said.
"I'm with Anne on that one." Andy said. "But why do we need a wagon?"
"Fwagon." Hop Pop corrected.
"Still not calling it that?" Andy said.
"Well with the snow melted and the mountain pass open, we can finally travel outside the valley to Newtopia." Hop Pop said when Sprig's eyes twinkled with excitement.
"What's in Newtopia?" Anne asked.
Inside the wagon, Hop Pop pulled out a map of Amphibia and points at the centre of the map. "It's the heart of all Amphibia. A metropolis of ancient knowledge, run by the wisest of newts. If anyone can help you get home, it's them." Hop Pop said.
"This could be our ticket home." Andy said.
"But not only that we could find Marcy." Anne said as she pulled a picture of her, Marcy and Sasha.
"You betcha." Hop Pop said. "Everyone, pack your bags. We leave tonight." The group cheers as they exit the wagon.
"Wait, who's going to watch the farm?" Lily asked.
"Chuck is." said Hop Pop.
"Who?" The Boonchuy twins asked.
"Chuck. He grows tulips." Sprig replied.
"Not ringing a bell." Andy said.
"We played Bugball together." Hop Pop added.
"Drawing a blank here." Anne replied.
"Look just give Chuck the key when he comes." Hop Pop said as he handed Anne the key.
"So he's housesitting?" Anne asked.
"An empty house is vulnerable, kids," said Hop pop. "Needs protectin'. Not to mention the crops, the very soul of our farm. Left alone to face wildfires, locusts, tornadoes, flaming locust tornadoes. Anyway once you give Chuck the key start packing since you three don't have much."
The Plantars walked back to the house to pace leaving Lily and the twins. "Wow they're just so much just to get us back home." Andy said.
"I'm sure Hop Pop is making stuff up." said Lily. But then a flaming locust tornado came by and destroyed a windmill.
"I just hope Chuck will keep this place in one piece." Andy said.
"The Plantars are risking so much to get us back home." Anne said.
"They sure are." Andy replied.
Then snail with a carriage comes in with a blue buff frog as the driver. "Holy crud he's ripped." Andy said.
"Are you Chuck?" Anne asked.
"No, I'm Dave." Dave said as he pointed to the carriage with a Mint Green frog, with a white underbelly. He is very short, and he wears a tall hat that covers his eyes, made of brown thatch with a brown band. He wears faded dark blue overalls.
"Oh now I remember." Andy said.
"I grow Tulips." Chuck said as he exited the carriage and he was attacked by four flying scorpions.
"This farm is doomed." Andy said.
"All because of us." Anne said.
"Don't blame yourselves guys. They will do anything to get you to home." Lily said.
"We're going return the flavour." Anne said.
"You mean Disaster-proof the house? I'm in." Andy said.
"Guys don't do anything stupid." Lily said and sighed. "I'm gonna go pack, don't do anything stupid while I pack."
"Ok can you pack for us?" Anne asked as she and Andy run off.
"Twin power!" The Boonchuy twins shouted.
Chuck ran back to Lily and panted. "I grow Tulips." Chuck said to an uninterested Lily as she walked back inside.
"I have to go pack for the Blunder Twins." Lily said.
Meanwhile Andy and Anne were shopping for traps and other defences from other stores. They enter Loggle's shop. "Hiya, Anne and Andy. Disaster-proofing your house?" Loggle asked as he greeted the twins.
"Oh yeah. We got everything we need for the house." Anne said. "We need something for the crops, the heart and soul of the farm. You got anything?"
"As a matter of fact I do." Loggle said.
"Hmm, that was weird." Andy said.
"Yeah didn't feel right." Loggle said. He then walked back and revealed a toxic looking goo. "Behold! My latest concoction. This gunk won't just protect your crops, it'll awaken a power within them. A power some would say that's better left-"
"Dude, we don't have time for this. We'll take the goo." said Andy.
"Really? You don't want to hear the cryptic warning?" Loggle asked.
"No thanks." Anne replied.
"Works for me. Cash or credit?" Loggle asked.
The twins pay for the goo and roll it back to the farm.
Back on the Plantar farm, Lily has finished packing for herself and the Boonchuy twins, after she placed bags in the wagon she decided to check up on Sprig.
"Hey Spirg." Lily greeted as she opened the door. But her eyes widened when she sees a conspiracy like room with strings attached to slingshots. "Which one to bring? Which slingshot to bring?!" Sprig asked.
Lily didn't say a word she looked at Sprig with wide eyes and slowly walked away. "I'll just read one of Anne's magazines instead." Lily said.
Anne and Andy are outside of the farm, they set up barbed wire fences, spiked rooftops and giant mousetraps. "Twin power!" The Boonchuy twins shouted.
"Now all we add the final touch Loggle's goo. Let's see here, give your crops a fighting chance with Loggle's mircale glob. Blah blah blah. Boom baby!" Anne said as she skips over the warning and kicks the barrel all over the crops causing the crops to glow green.
"Is that normal?" Andy asked.
"I don't know?" Anne shrugged.
Then the Hop Pop, Polly and Lily exited the farm. "Wow Chuck really outdid himself." Hop Pop said.
"Yeah he really did." Polly said.
"Well here's the thing." Andy said.
Just then the ground started to shake and vegetable monsters started coming out of the ground. "What the?!" Lily questioned.
"This is new." said Anne.
The Veggie monsters began to approach the group. "Action time sis." Andy said as a flame formed in left hand and a ice sword in his right hand.
"Oh yeah." Anne said as she takes out a sword and tennis racket. The twins began their battle with the veggie monsters, while that was going on. Sprig exits the house.
"I'm going it's my trusty slingshot." Sprig said as takes out his slingshot and shot two rocks at two tomato monsters.
"Just in time Sprig." Lily said as she gave a roundhouse kick to a pumpkin monster.
Andy throws a fireball at the eggplant monster that resembles a Xenomorph. Anne smacks a parsnip monster with her tennis racket. Hop Pop grabs a grater and starts grating violently at the potato monster.
"Hash browns!" Hop Pop shouted as he continued to grate.
Polly is swinging a flail and smashed a onion monster to bits. Lily punched a monster carrot in half, Sprig shoots rocks from his slingshot at the pumpkin monster. Andy sliced an eggplant monster in half, while Anne smacks the last veggie monster with her racket.
"That's the last of them." Andy said.
But Andy spoke too soon as the remains of the veggie monsters into a giant Veggie monster, with turnips and radishes for its right shoulder, right thigh, and left leg; pumpkins for its torso, arms, and left shoulder, a potato for its right shin, eggplants for its feet, and a head made from two carrots pointing out like two horns—all stitched together by the roots and vines of the constituents. On its left arm is vine tendrils where its hand should be. It has a neon green glow due to the potion, emitting from its veins, eyes, and mouth. On its forehead is a purple gem-like feature.
"Oh crud." Lily said.
"It's Veggietron!" Andy shouted.
The Veggie monster roars and punched the Plantars and Lily, leaving the twins left to fight, the monster walks towards the twins but it steps on a mouse trap screaming pain. "Ha! Take that Veggietron!" Andy shouted.
"No one's calling it that." Anne said. "But still."
The monster began to stumble backwards and fell back onto the house smashing it into bits.
"NO!" The twins shouted.
The monster gets back up and growls at the twins. "We worked hard to keep the Plantars' home safe. Now it's all gone." Andy said.
"Oh you just made a big mistake buddy." Anne said with a deadly glare as did Andy and the twins' eyes briefly flashed blue and purple.
The veggie monster threw a punch at the twins and they both ran up the arm towards the head. Andy jumped in the air an form giant shards of ice and threw at the veggie monster and shoot two fireballs at the Veggie monster. Then Anne sliced the giant veggie monster in half causing it to explode.
"Eat your vegetables." Anne said.
Andy looked behind him and sees the only surviving veggie monster is a turnip monster with a giant butt. The giant butt turnip began to run away. "Well that was odd." Andy said.
"That was amazing!" Sprig shouted.
"Yeah that was pretty cool!" Lily shouted.
"Yeah, but it's all gone." Anne said. "The farm. Your home, all gone."
"What are you talking Anne?" Hop Pop asked.
"You see. Anne and I wanted to help you guys out since you took us into your home. We told Chuck we had it under control and send him off." Andy explained.
"You what?!" Hop Pop asked.
"You guys were risking a lot to get us back home. We were just trying to help." Anne explained.
"When we saw Chuck, we knew the farm was doomed." Andy said. "Tell you what we'll help you rebuild the farm and be on our way."
"No need." Hop Pop said before blowing into a whistle. Then a cloud of dust, tools an tulips came into the scene and fixes the house, like nothing ever happened.
"I grow tulips." Chuck said.
"What the shock?" Andy exclaimed.
"Hoopa da boopa." Anne exclaimed.
"Why do you think I hired Chuck in the first place?" Hop Pop asked as he laughed.
"Sorry we doubted you dude." Andy said.
"I grow tulips." Chuck replied.
"Yes he does." Hop Pop said as he opened the wagon door. "Alright kids. It's a two week journey to Newtopia so we better get going."
Sprig, Lily andPolly cheered as they got on board the wagon. "Hey Hop Pop." Anne said. "I was thinking, wouldn't it be a good idea to bring the music box with us on the trip?"
"Oh, uh, no, no, no. It'll be safe with my contacts for the time being." Hop Pop said.
"Alright Hop Pop. We trust you." Andy said as he and Anne entered the wagon.
Hop Pop hopped on the driver seat. "No turning back now!" Hop Pop shouted as Bessie started moving.
"Oh crud. I forgot to give the key to Chuck!" Andy said.
"We're turning back now!" Hop Pop shouted.
After giving the key to Chuck, Plantars were back on the road on their way out of the valley.
"Are you excited to see the outside of the valley?" Lily asked.
"I am Lily. I just want to go into this adventure with low hopes." Andy replied.
"I'm with Andy on this one." Anne said. "Whoa!"
The gang all looked and see a beautiful landscape across the land. "It looks amazing." Andy said.
"It's hurting my eyes." Anne said as she rubbed her eyes.
"It's better than I ever dreamed!" Sprig shouted as he hopped onto Bessie's shell. "Full speed ahead Hop Pop! Keep driving and never look back!"
"Hold on Sprig, look back here for a second. Now that we're out of the valley, things can get dangerous fast." Hop Pop said.
We cut to the inside of the wagon as Hop Pop placed a large book onto the table. "from now on we're gonna follow Hop Pop's rules of the road. By me Hop Pop." Hop Pop finished.
"Ugh!" The kids all groaned.
"Another book?" Lily groaned.
"You kids got a problem with books? Why without books..." Hop Pop began.
"Our civilization would crumble into nothingness." The twins, Sprig, Polly and Lily said in disinterested unison.
"The only way we'll get to Newtopia in one piece is if we follow these rules. Road Rule number 98: Never strike a heroic pose on the Fwagon. It's a sign of hubris that invites disaster." Hop Pop said.
"Ugh great. Just what I need rules." Andy complained as he sits down.
"Road Rule number 345: no complaining." Hop Pop said.
Hop Pop then pulled out out a bunch of colouring in books, closed the blind and placed Sprig in a booster seat. "There that should keep your sense of adventure in check. Alright kids, let's stick to the rules and we should be in Newtopia completed safe and adventure free." Hop Pop said as he returned to the driver's seat.
"Man this stinks! All those adventures out, there and we're stuck in here with these dumb rules." Sprig complains.
"Not much we can do. Our dad was the same as back home." Anne explained. "One time we drove to the Grand Canyon and didn't stop once."
"Even Marcy was baffled by that." Andy said.
"Well if anyone can figure out a way to have fun with the rules it's us." Lily said.
"Newtopia here we come!" The five kids shouted.
"Road Rule number 29: No shouting! Marauders will follow the sound and steal your skin!"
Sprig and Lily are looking outside of the window and gasped. "A rainbow waterfall!" Sprig said.
"We gotta pull over." Lily exclaimed.
"Hub bup bup. Road Rule number 243: All natural phenomena leads to an unnatural death." Hop Pop replied.
Later on the gang see three snails speeding down a track. "Zoom dunes?!" Sprig gasped in excitement.
"That is so cool!" Andy exclaimed.
"C'mon Besssie, time to show the world how fast you can go!" Polly said with a determined look.
"Uh-uh. Road Rule number 149: Never drive faster than a June bug can fly." Hop Pop said.
"Hey what's that?" Anne asked
"Hey look Amphibia's best diner. We got to stop here." Sprig said.
"I second that motion." Lily said.
"Road Rule number 193: Don't stop anywhere claiming to be the best." Hop Pop replied.
"But look they have crickets and cream ice cream." Sprig said.
"Road rule number 192: No ice cream in the Fwagon."
"Oh come on!" Andy exclaimed.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Anne shouted.
"That's a load of dune!" Lily shouted.
"Hey, I use enforce the rules, I don't make 'em." Hop Pop said.
"You made the rules! They're called Hop Pop's rules!" Anne said.
"Darn straight and I stand by them." Hop Pop said.
The kids are sitting inside of the wagon. "I can't take it anymore." Andy said.
"I really want to complain but rule 345: no complaining takes care of that." Anne said.
"I swear to frog, if one more once in a lifetime opportunity passes us by-" Sprig started but gets interrupted by Hop Pop.
"Red alert kids. We're coming up on the Ruins of Despair!" Hop Pop called out as the kids looked out the window.
"What are those weird looking structures?" Andy asked.
"No one knows Andy. They've been here long before any written history. Just a mystery better left unsolved as far as I'm concerned." Hop Pop said.
Lily closes the window and Sprig began to say what they were all thinking. "This place is the coolest thing I've ever seen!" If I don't get out and at least touch something. I'll regret it for the rest of my life." Sprig said.
"Don't worry Sprig, Anne and I got a plan." Andy said.
Both Anne and Andy pop out of the hatch to Hop Pop's driver seat. "Hey HP. We've never ridden in a wagon for this long we're definitely gonna hurl." Anne said.
"Can you pull over?" Andy asked.
"Dang it you two. How do you humans cope with such unreliable innards." Hop Pop said as he signalled Bessie to stop.
Right when the wagon stops Anne, Andy, Sprig and Lily ran out of the wagon. "Go!" Andy shouted.
"Hey! Get back here!" Hop Pop shouted.
"That was your plan? Not bad." Sprig stated.
The gang reached to one of the entrances of the structures. "Ok Hop Pop might be onto us. So let's take some quick selfies and get out of here." Anne said.
Right when Anne is about to take the picture, Sprig leans back on the door, which caused it to open up and he falls down. "Sprig!" Anne, Andy and Lily shouted before they slid down.
Once they reached the bottom Anne walked up to Sprig. "Dude are you okay?" Anne asked but she looked around and said. "Whoa."
"What is this place?" Andy asked.
"What the heck are those computers?" Anne asked.
"I thought this place was more tech free than anything else." Andy said.
"I'm. GONNA TOUCH EVERYTHINNG!" Sprig shouted before he runs around the room.
"We did a good thing." Anne said.
Then they hear Hop Pop screaming as he came down the tunnel. "Do you four realize how many rules you just broke?! 17, 29, 36, 55!" Hop Pop shouted in anger.
"Forget the rules. Look at this place Hop Pop. It had everything! Cool atmosphere, implied historical significance." Sprig said before he looked at a lever. "Levers."
"Don't you dare! Road Rule number 68: Never ever pull a lever!" Hop Pop replied. But Sprig ignore Hop Pop and pulled the lever.
"Well look at that. I broke rul number 68 and we're all still alive- Whoa!" Sprig fell off the lever as the whole roll started to glow blue, lights flashing on the main computer turned on.
"Start up engaged!" A robotic voice said.
"This place can talk?" Sprig asked.
"Assembly line activated. Routine protocols engaged." The voice replied.
"It's a factory. But what are they making?" Andy asked.
"It is mighty impressive." Hop Pop remarked.
"Additional materials required. Please place them on the glowing access point." The voice replied.
"Glowing what now?" Hop Pop asked right before the ground where he was standing on began to glow and grabbed him by his feet.
"Hop Pop!" The kids all shouted.
"It tickles." Hop Pop's voice is heard right before he is placed onto the assembly line and he didn't looked happy. "See kids this is why we follow the rules!" Hop Pop said before some lasers sliced his clothes off leaving him in his undergarments. "I'm not beach ready!"
"Hang on Hop Pop!" Andy said as he breaks through the glass of the assembly line with Anne following him.
"Sprig we got to shut this down and fast!" Lily said as she and Sprig ran up to the main console.
"Take your time kids. This ain't half bad." Hop Pop said as he was getting clean.
"How do we turn it off?" Sprig asked.
"If you wish to cancel the operation, please insert new disk." The voice stated.
"Piece of cake." Sprig said before he started screaming and smashing every button.
"Security violation detected." The voice said as two mechanical arms rise up from the ground.
"I got this." Lily said as she blocked off one of the arms.
They both see Hop Pp strapped to a table with a giant masher heading towards him. "I TAKE IT BACK! I WAS A FOOL!" Hop Pop shouted.
"I don't know what to do?!" Sprig shouted as he began looking through the rule book.
"Sprig, hurry before we become pancakes!" Andy shouted.
"Insert disk! Insert disk! Insert disc!" The voice shouted.
"Shut up!" Sprig shouted as he shoved the book into the disc slot.
"What the heck?! What the heck?! What the heck?! The voice exclaimed as the factory started to malfunction.
Luckily the twins and Hop Pop managed to escape from the assembly line. The gang all ran up the tunnel and managed to get outside.
"Yeah!" Anne, Andy, Sprig and Lily cheered.
"Road rule number 2: Don't celebrate until you're completely out of danger." Hop Pop stated.
"Come on Hop Pop, the danger is clearly over." Anne said. But she spoke too soon when an explosion was made.
"Levers. Am I right?" Sprig asked as he chuckled nervously, but Hop Hop gave the kids a serious look on his face. "I know. I know, we should have followed the rules."
"YOU THINK!" Hop Pop shouted. "You four should be more like Polly. I told her to stay put and look where she is! Where's Polly?"
Then Bessie jumped off on the structures, landing perfectly in front of the group with Polly at the wheel. "Bessie made me made do it!" Polly lied. "Alright I'm sorry. That's the last time I break a rule, I swear."
"Yeah, us too HP." Anne mumbled.
"We'll follow the rules for the rest of the trip." Andy said.
"No more crazy stuff on this trip." Lily sighed in defeat.
"Hang on a sec kids." Hop Pop said. "Maybe this only happened cause I was being too strict with ya. We've never taken a trip like this and I just wanted it to go smoothly. So what'd ya say we set aside the rules for a bit and make a stop or two?"
"Really?!" The kids gasped.
"Oh, oh, oh can we stop at the hills of implement? I've heard traumatize you for liiifeee!" Polly asked.
"Nope, I've got something else in mind." Hop Pop said.
"Oh thank goodness." Lily muttered under her breath.
Sometime later the gang is back on the road with the kids having ice cream. "How's the crickets and cream ice cream kids?" Hop Pop asked.
"Amazing!" Sprig said.
"So good!" Polly said.
"Delicious!" Lily said.
"You know there was a time I'd pick out all the bug bits, that time has past!" Anne said as she lick some of her ice cream.
"I'm use to it." Andy shrugged as he ate a cricket leg.
"Thanks Hop Pop." Sprig said as he gives him a hug.
"Man, I'm kinda bummed we didn't find what that factory was making?" Anne said.
"I guess we'll never know." Sprig said.
"I guess there's some things that are better off unanswered." Andy said. "Like the three seashells from Demolition Man. Don't ask."
Meanwhile in the Ruins of Despair, something came out of the structure that the gang escaped from, it was a large robotic frog with elongated, gray metal arms ending in slender fingers. His main body consists of overlapping metal sheets with a shiny frog foot sign along the middle. Placed upon his shoulders are brown, darkly shaded metal pauldrons with three metal studs. His head was mounted atop his body via bar extensions, featuring two brightly glowing optics representing its eyes with darker yellow pupils, the mouth is shaped like a crescent like shape.
The frog robot looked around and then it began to walk in the same direction as the Plantars.
