Chapter 5: Hot

A/N: Vaguely NSFW

Saturday afternoon
Angela

Angela found a lounge chair near the pool between Catherine and Hope. When Angela and her kids returned to the rest of their group after Jane and Maura explained what had happened, everyone had already decided that they were going to go down to the pool, and most of the group had gone back to their rooms to change.

Angela kept her eyes on Jane and Maura. She still wasn't sure how she felt about all of this. Not Jane and Maura being in a romantic relationship – she was not only supportive of their relationship, but she was excited for them. She had known for a while now that the two of them were meant for each other. She just couldn't figure out what was stopping them from taking that next step.

But getting drunkenly married in Vegas? She still wasn't too happy about that part. She believed them when they said they didn't purposely leave her out, but she still felt left out…she still was left out. She had still missed her daughter's wedding.

On the other hand, she wasn't sure she had ever seen her daughter happier. She had seen the smile on Jane's face when Maura was lying in her lap when Angela and the others had returned from shopping, and she could see the look of pure happiness on Jane's face now as she stood in waist deep water talking to Maura, who was sitting on the edge of the pool with her legs dangling in the water. Jane was standing just in front of Maura with her hands on the side of the pool, one on each side of Maura, semi-trapping her in place. Not that Maura seemed to mind. Her happiness easily rivalled Jane's.

Angela watched as Maura leaned forward slightly, so that her face was inches from Jane's. They were clearly oblivious to everyone and everything around them. Not that this was the first time – they had a tendency to fall into their own little world where they only had eyes for each other. Jane had always been more…free…around Maura than she was around everyone else, but Angela had never seen her flirt so openly before, which is exactly what she was doing right now.

"How do you feel about Maura and Jane?" Hope's voice broke into Angela's musings.

Angela tore her gaze from her girls to look at Hope. "I wish they hadn't eloped, especially while drunk," she said with a shrug, "but otherwise, I'm happy for them."

Hope nodded absentmindedly, and Angela couldn't help but wonder what Maura's birth mother was thinking.

"How do you feel about it?" Angela prodded.

"I don't know what to think," Hope admitted. "Not about them dating. That makes sense. Honestly, I thought they were dating when I first met them, and I never really stopped wondering if they were secretly seeing each other."

Angela laughed, and it was louder than she had intended. "You're not the first," she quipped. "But the marriage bothers you?"

"I just didn't expect Maura to do something like this," Hope said. "I'm not sure I'm in a position to have an opinion, though."

Angela watched Hope for a few moments. "You're her mother," Angela said. "I think your opinion matters, and I think it matters to her."

"I just missed so many important moments in her life already," Hope continued. "I-I hoped that I would…I hoped that I would be able to be there for the important moments still to come."

Angela nodded, and her heart broke a little bit for Hope. She hated that she had missed her daughter's wedding, but she had been there for all of Jane's other big milestones. Hope had been robbed of so many memories with her daughter, already. Angela didn't really know what to say, so she offered the only piece of information she hadn't shared yet, "I told them that I still expected a real wedding."

Hope laughed. "Well, hopefully, they listen, then," she said.

"Oh, they'll listen," Angela assured her. "I'll make sure of it!"

Saturday evening
Jane and Maura

Jane sat on the end of their bed. She was ready for the evening, but of course, Maura was still getting ready. She tugged awkwardly at her annoyingly short dress. It barely covered her ass. She may have only purchased it because Maura insisted, and she may have been planning to never, ever wear it. Except now, she was wearing it for Maura…and only Maura.

When she heard the bathroom door open, she stood and turned to face Maura. Her breath caught in her throat when her eyes landed on love. Heat flooded her body, and she instantly got wet. She had seen Maura wear a lot of things, but she had never seen Maura like this. Her navy-blue dress was sinfully short, skintight, and the neckline dipped so low that Jane was sure just one more inch would reveal her bellybutton. Her make-up was darker than she usually wore, highlighting her perfect (in Jane's opinion) face, and her hair was swept up into an updo.

Jane's eyes trailed down Maura's body, taking in her tight ass, her tanned legs, and her toned calves. She had heels on that must have been six inches high.

Maura felt her chest and face flush as Jane shamelessly checked her out. She wasn't sure anything had ever made her feel more attractive than Jane's eyes on her. Maura took advantage of Jane's distraction to check Jane out in return. Jane was wearing the dress Maura had basically forced her to buy, and Maura wasn't regretting her insistence that Jane get this dress for a second. The black, off-the-shoulder dress fit Jane like a glove. It was simple, letting Jane's natural beauty shine through. Maura's favorite part was how impossibly long Jane's legs looked in the dress. Even with heels two inches shorter than hers, Jane was still taller than Maura.

When Jane's eyes found Maura's again, she could see the nervousness on her friend's face. Maura was chewing her bottom lip as she waited for Jane's reaction. Jane stepped into Maura's space, gently placing her hands on Maura's hips; Maura's hands settled on Jane's elbows. They just stared into each other's eyes for a few moments. The air between them was thick and charged with electricity.

"You look amazing," Jane whispered, and even she was surprised at how husky her voice sounded. There was no doubt that she was turned on, and Maura knew it too.

Maura smiled shyly. "You don't look half bad yourself, detective," she said with a smirk.

"I'm gonna kiss you now," Jane said, and Maura's smile only grew in response.

Jane leaned in and captured Maura's lips in a slow, soft kiss. Their lips moved together for a few moments before Jane needed more. Jane pulled Maura closer by her hips until their bodies were flush against each other. Maura's arms instantly moved to encircle Jane's neck, her hand gently pressing against Jane's neck to pull her closer.

Jane let her hands slip behind Maura's back. She couldn't stifle the moan that escaped her when her hand found the warm skin on the small of Maura's back. Her hands roamed shamelessly, mapping out the open back of Maura's dress.

Maura gently pushed Jane away and stepped back, her fingers immediately coming up to touch her tingling lips, while her other hand remained on Jane's shoulder. "We have to stop," she gasped out. She was already so worked up that if they kept going, Maura wasn't sure if she would be able to stop.

Jane smirked smugly at Maura's obvious arousal, but the truth was, she was just as turned on as the other woman.

Maura couldn't help but kiss away Jane's smirk, but she made sure to keep it short. "Now, I have to redo my lipstick," she said. "And you need to leave this room, or we never will," she added, as she pushed Jane towards the bedroom door.

Jane laughed but acquiesced. Everyone was gathering in the living area already. Jane tugged her dress down again only to have to pull it up to avoid flashing everyone. This was going to be a long night.

Nina

Nina did not enjoy being the center of attention, but being a bride seemed to be all about being the center of attention. This was a big part of the reason why she and Frankie planned to do their bachelor and bachelorette parties mostly together. It was also why she was definitely not mad (and maybe even a little grateful) that Jane and Maura had taken some of the focus away from her.

Nina was having a wonderful time this weekend. Maura had spoiled them with the suites, and she loved having all of her friends and family here with them to celebrate. Still, Nina was looking forward to the second half of the trip more – the half that would include less drinking, less partying, and less chaos. Tonight, though, was the 'main event' of the weekend, regardless of the fact that it wasn't the part she was looking forward to the most. She supposed that having a somewhat traditional bachelorette experience was a once in a lifetime opportunity, so she might as well embrace it.

"Have fun!" Nina's mom whispered into her ear as they hugged. "But not too much fun," she added with a smirk as they separated.

Nina rolled her eyes. "We'll be fine," she assured her mother.

"Do not elope!" her mother said in mock seriousness, giving Nina her best motherly glare.

Nina snorted. "We won't. I promise," she said, trying not to laugh.

"Alright, bye, baby," her mom said, giving her one more kiss on the cheek. Nina also hugged Angela, Hope, and Kiki. The four women were going back to the suite instead of joining the rest of the group at the strip club. Their entire group had just finished their celebratory dinner at what Nina was sure was the most expensive restaurant she had ever eaten at. She could deny that the steakhouse had been amazing though.

"Keep everyone in line!" Kiki said to Korsak, who was the only one joining the group going to the club that hadn't been with them the previous evening. Nina laughed at the idea that Korsak could control them any better than she could.

"And I promise to keep him in line," Nina told Kiki, who winked at her.

When the eight of them arrived at the strip club the men headed to the gentleman's floor while the woman headed to the ladies' lounge. The male stripper show only ran for 2.5 hours, so they were planning to finish the night all together on the main floor. Nina gave Frankie a kiss. "Have fun," she whispered.

"But not too much fun?" he joked.

"As long as it stays in your pants, I don't really care what else you do tonight," she said. She trusted Frankie. She wouldn't be okay with him doing something like this regularly, but as long as he ended the night with her, she didn't mind if he enjoyed himself tonight within limits. And right now, she was very much enjoying the blush that overtook his face. God, she loved this man.

"Alright, ladies, let's go!" Cailin said, looping her arm through Nina's and pulling her in the opposite direction.

Maura

Maura watched as the man gyrated his hips on the stage in front of her. "He has really good control of his hips," Maura said to Jane, who was sitting next to her.

"Maura," Jane whined.

"His lower abdominal muscles as well as his gluteus muscles are very strong, and…" Maura explained, pointing to the man on the stage, but when she turned to look at Jane, she stopped mid-sentence. Maura smirked. "Jealous?" she teased.

"No!" Jane said obstinately, but Maura just raised an eyebrow in response. "Okay, maybe a little," Jane muttered. "But you're basically drooling over him."

"I am not drooling!" Maura countered, slightly offended. "Besides," she added, leaning towards Jane, "I already get to go home with the hottest person in the room." Maura smiled as she watched Jane blush furiously. "Come on, Jane, none of this means anything," she said, sitting back in her chair. "It's just for fun."

Jane huffed. "I know," she muttered.

Maura smiled again. She didn't want to admit that Jane's jealousy felt good. She usually didn't like when her partners were possessive, but this felt different. She leaned over and gave Jane a quick kiss before intertwining their fingers and pulling Jane's hand into her lap.

The show ended not long after that, so they headed back to the main area of the club. They had to search a bit, but they eventually found Frankie, Tommy, Frost, and Korsak trying their best to hold onto enough seats for all of them. Nina sat down with Frankie while Frost moved over to allow Jane and Maura to share one of the overlarge chairs.

"So how was it?" Tommy asked.

"Maura was drooling over the guys," Jane answered instantly.

"Jane!" Maura chastised, lightly hitting Jane with the back of her hand.

Jane laughed as she snaked her arm around Maura's shoulders, pulling her close. "I'm just giving you a hard time," she said, kissing Maura's cheek.

"Mmm," Maura hummed noncommittally, but a smile tugged at her lips. She decided to take a little revenge on Jane.

They mostly talked. Apparently, the guys had already treated each other to a few lap dances, so they didn't seek out any of the girls, but Frost and Tommy each got another one when a couple of girls stopped by their group. Maura had to admit that beyond her clinical interest in the physicality of the dancers, she found it more awkward than anything else. It's not that the act bothered her, but as open as she was to sex, the public nature of participating wasn't something that appealed to her. She did, however, still want to tease Jane a little.

Maura flagged down the hottest girl that passed their table. She stood from the chair she was sharing with Jane, handed the woman the cash, and whispered into her ear that she was buying the lap dance for her girlfriend (she didn't feel like this situation was the appropriate time to call Jane her wife for the first time to someone else). The surprised look on Jane's face when the woman sat on her lap and started dancing was worth every dollar Maura paid.

However, after a few minutes, Maura felt an unexpected tightening in her chest. Despite the fact that she had done this to tease Jane and to show her that Maura watching the male dancers earlier in the evening didn't mean anything (because it really, really didn't), Maura was regretting her decision. She understood the term green-eyed monster for the first time in her life as jealousy raged through her at the sight of another woman grinding on Jane's lap, and she finally had to turn away when the woman turned to sit on Jane's lap facing her with her DD breasts in Jane's face.

Maura nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard Jane's voice in her ear. "You're coming with me," Jane said, her breath tickling Maura's ear. Maura nodded and let Jane pull her from her seat. Maura had no idea where Jane was leading them, but she held onto her friend's hand as Jane weaved them through the crowd. To say she was surprised when Jane dragged her onto the dance floor would be an understatement.

Jane turned to face Maura, putting her hands on Maura's hips and pulling her body flush against her own. Maura's hands automatically wrapped around Jane's neck, but she refused to meet Jane's eyes.

They moved together to the music for a few minutes, and she had to admit that Jane was a better dancer than she expected. They fit together perfectly, and their hips moved together in time to the music.

"Your little plan backfired, didn't it?" Jane husked into her ear.

Maura sighed. She didn't want to admit it, and she was definitely embarrassed, but she forced herself to meet Jane's gaze. "Yes," she huffed.

Jane chuckled. She twirled Maura along with the music before pulling her back into her embrace. "Why'd you buy me a lap dance?" Jane asked when Maura was close enough to hear her again.

Maura bit her bottom lip. "To tease you," she admitted. "For making fun of me earlier. I wanted to prove to you that it didn't mean anything."

"It didn't mean anything, Maura," Jane responded.

Maura turned in Jane's arms so that her back was pressed against Jane's front as they continued to move with the music.

"It didn't mean anything," Jane repeated into her ear.

Maura turned her head. "I know," she said back before kissing Jane's cheek. Jane turned to return the kiss, her arms wrapping tighter around Maura. Despite the slightly awkward way that they were kissing over Maura's left shoulder, Maura felt heat flood through her body in response to the kiss.

Jane grabbed Maura's hand, spinning her away from her body again before pulling her back. Their lips met in a passionate kiss as Maura crashed back into Jane. She could feel Jane's breasts brushing against hers, she could feel their hips pressed together as they tried to get impossibly closer, and she could feel Jane's hands roaming over every inch of her back.

Everything about this moment was so incredibly hot. Her body vibrated as arousal pulsed through her. She wasn't sure she had ever been this worked up with no outlet, and she had definitely never been this worked up in public.

When their kiss broke, Jane rested her forehead against Maura's. "I don't know what exactly made you so upset, but I'm yours, Maura. I've been yours for a long time, even when you didn't know it."

"I don't own you," Maura countered weakly.

Jane let out a breathy laugh. "I know, but I'm still yours and only yours," Jane said. "You're all I want, all I need."

"It just hit me that she was doing those…things…to you before I even got a chance to…" Maura trailed off weakly.

"She didn't get to do anything that mattered," Jane said. "She didn't get to do this," she said as she kissed Maura hard. "And she didn't get to do this," she continued as she brought Maura's hand up to cup her breast. "But most importantly, she didn't make me feel any of the things you make me feel," Jane finished as she brought Maura's hand up to her lips and kissed her knuckles.

Maura didn't know what to say, so instead she wrapped both of her arms back around Jane's shoulders and pulled her closer so that their bodies were once again flush against each other. They were surrounded by hot, sweaty bodies crowding the dance floor, but Jane was the only person Maura was aware of. The only person she could see. The only person she could feel.

They danced together for a few more songs before she said into Jane's ear, "Take me home."

Jane gave her another kiss before leading her off the dance floor. They found the rest of their group, intending to tell them that they were going to take a cab back, but everyone was ready to go.

Maura couldn't keep her hands off of Jane as they rode back to their hotel, and Jane's hands were all over her in the elevator. Neither one of them had much self-control left.

As soon as they closed their bedroom door behind them, Maura pressed Jane against the door and gave her a bruising kiss. Jane's hands were roaming over her back, setting her skin on fire. Maura let out a loud moan when Jane's hands found her ass.

Maura leaned back, intending to pull Jane towards the bed without breaking their kiss, but Jane stopped them.

"Wait, wait," Jane gasped out, her breathing shallow and fast.

Maura froze, afraid she had moved too far, too fast.

Jane pulled Maura back towards her, gave her a quick, chaste kiss, and pressed their foreheads together. She closed her eyes as she tried to catch her breath and calm her body. "Jane?" Maura asked when the silence became too much.

"I'm sorry," Jane whispered. "I just…I don't want it like this." Jane lifted her head to look Maura directly in the eye. "Please don't take this the wrong way," Jane pleaded. "I want you. I want this. I want us."

"But not tonight?" Maura asked quietly, unsure how she felt about this. It's not that she wanted Jane to do something she wasn't ready for. Of course, she didn't want that. But she thought that they wanted the same thing; now, she was mostly confused.

"I want…I want our first time to be…special," Jane said lamely, unable to come up with a better word. "I want it to be about us. I want to be sober, so that I can remember every minute of it, and I don't want lingering jealousy hanging over our heads. Trust me, this is probably the hardest thing I've ever done because I want you so bad right now."

"Badly," Maura corrected without thought.

A small smile played at Jane's lips. "Whatever," she said. "But my point is, I want to do this right. I'm sorry, Maura," Jane added softly, but Maura shook her head.

Maura's heart swelled with love. She kissed Jane hard but didn't let it deepen. "Don't be. I want that too," she said. "I love you so much, Jane, and I want to show you how much very badly. But I also hope that this is my last first time, our last first time, and I want it to be special, too."

"I'm not saying we have to wait long," Jane said. "Just not tonight."

"Jane, I will wait for you as long as you need," Maura said. "I want this to feel right for both of us."

"Thank you," Jane said, giving Maura another kiss. "I love you."

"I love you, too," Maura replied. "Now go shower because you smell like smoke, alcohol, and strippers," she added with a laugh.

"Only if you promise to never buy me a lap dance again," Jane teased.

"Deal," Maura replied. "But I reserve the right to give you a lap dance in the future." She was pleased with the flush that overtook Jane's face. "Go shower," she said again.

They both showered – Jane going first because Maura wasn't willing to risk Jane sitting on their bed while she waited for Maura to go first – and climbed into bed.

"I'm sorry I basically shoved you off of me this morning," Jane said, staring at the ceiling.

Maura looked at Jane in surprise. "We were both caught off-guard this morning," she said. Maura rolled so that she was lying on her side, facing Jane.

"I know," Jane said, finally turning her head to look at Maura. "I just feel bad about the way I reacted. I wanted you to know…before I started panicking…I-I-I, um, I really liked it."

Maura knew her smile was embarrassingly large, but she couldn't care less. "I really liked it, too," she admitted. Maura paused, hoping Jane would say more…hoping Jane would offer to snuggle tonight, even if it was with their pajamas on.

But Jane didn't say anything, so Maura took the next step, moving closer to Jane. When she was as close to Jane as she could get without touching her, Maura reached out, trailing her fingers lightly up Jane's arm.

"How do you feel about snuggling?" Maura asked quietly, not stopping the movements of her fingers.

She watched Jane try for a second to fight the smile tugging at her lips. Maura let out a squeal when Jane suddenly rolled towards her and wrapped her arms around Maura. Jane playfully kissed Maura all over her face, drawing giggles from her, which she stopped with a kiss to her lips. Without letting Maura go, Jane said, "How do you feel about trying it? I've always hated snuggling and cuddling in bed, so I can't promise I'm going to like it. But I…I really want to. Is that okay?"

Maura smiled and gave Jane another kiss. "That is absolutely okay," she said. With a more serious tone, she added, "Jane, I hope you know that you can always be honest with me. We can try things, and one or both of us can decide we don't like it. That's okay – and I'm not just talking about cuddling in bed."

"I know, Maur," Jane said as she loosened her grip on Maura, allowing Maura to shift into a more comfortable position. Maura snuggled against Jane's side and rested her head on Jane's chest. When Jane wrapped her arm around Maura, she added, "I know we didn't exactly get here in a way that either of us expected, but I'm really glad we did."

"Me too, my love," Maura said. "Me too."

A/N: I'm not thrilled with this chapter, mainly because it doesn't seem to read as sexy as it looks in my head, but given that (a) I've never been to Las Vegas, (b) I've never been to a strip club, and (c) I'm a terrible dancer (like really, really terrible), I suppose it's not surprising that I find it difficult to write, too.

Also, I'm still planning to do something for Flufftober, just not as big as I would have had I not done this story. Anyway, check back in tomorrow, October 1st for something new.
