Chapter Four: Evil Awakens & Precourse Start
~A/N~ Sorry it took forever to get the chapters out. I have no idea when I'll get the next out.
Chapter Start!
A short portly man ran with all his strength down a poorly lit hallway. "This is bad, this is bad, this is bad, this is bad," He said again and again as he ran.
He slowed as he reached a large set of metal doors. Doing his best to regain what little breath he had before going in. He hated seeing his old friend like he was. The man was a mess of medical wires and tubes. "I'm sorry but it's time to wake up," The man said as he began typing away at a keyboard.
"Why did you wake me, doctor?" The icon of evil asked as he felt his consciousness coming back to him.
"I'm sorry but I have very bad news and I knew you would want to know right away," Ujiko explained.
"Very well," All For One replied sitting up. "What has happened?"
"Gigantomachia has been defeated and arrested," Ujiko said.
"Unfortunate but not derailing. What else?" All For One asked.
"By All Might who doesn't seem to be injured," Ujiko added. That stopped All For One.
"What do you mean?" The dark icon asked very slowly.
"I had been tracking All Might's hero time. Until his fight with Gigantomachia, his time had been slowly dwindling. To the point where he couldn't be active for more than four hours. Then out of the blue, he goes on a multi-hour battle with Gigantomachia and spends the rest of the day stopping crime after crime," Ujiko explained.
"So he found a way to heal his injury," All For One said sourly.
"It appears so," Ujiko replied.
"What do you have on him over the last week. Any outstanding visits or actions?" All For One asked.
"Nothing. He's kept the same schedule for the last year. Three to four hours of hero work a day. Visits U.A. every other day. Goes to I island once a month. Visits Shimura's gave once a month. Nothing new," Ujiko explained.
"When was the last time he went to I island?" All For One asked.
"The fifth," Ujiko replied. "Two days before his battle with Gigantomachia,"
"And he went to U.A. before his battle as well?" All For One asked.
"Yes," Ujiko replied.
"Any images of him after he got back from I island but before his U.A. visit?" All For One asked.
"None. He avoids cameras very well," Ujiko answered.
"So either someone on I island healed him or U.A.," All For One said. "Any new information on U.A.?"
"That rat had announced a Future Heroes Precourse Program. Something about getting future heroes who would otherwise be unable to afford U.A.'s costs a chance," Ujiko explained.
"And when was this announced?" All For One asked.
"The same day All Might fought Gigantomachia," Ujiko replied.
"That's it then. Someone at U.A. found a powerful healer but one that couldn't afford the schooling to be a hero. So the rat instigated this precourse so they could keep tabs on the healer," All For One explained.
"Does this alter plans?" Ujiko asked.
"Oh very much so," All For One replied. "The plan has to be thrown out and go through a complete overhaul. The Nomu won't stand a chance if that muscle brained twit is back to full,"
~U.A. Faculty Office~
Shota sat behind his desk reading through one of many applications for the Future Heroes Precourse. Shortly after Nezu announced it U.A. received a massive flood of applicants. It was pretty easy to narrow down. Most children of heroes or rich kids were tossed out. The precourse wasn't for kids who had money or access to hero training.
"You find any diamonds yet?" Hizashi asked from behind his stack of applicants.
"One. You?" Shota asked.
"Nothing yet. I need a break," Hizashi said standing up from his desk. "Who'd you find?" he asked walking towards the coffee maker.
"Uraraka Ochaco. Her family owns a small construction company. It's floundering at best. She'd never be able to afford U.A.," Shota said handing Hizashi the girl's file as he walked up with coffee in hand.
"Zero Gravity... That's a hell of a quirk," Hizashi said thumbing through the girl's application.
"She has great grades. Only weak point is that she wants to be a hero for money," Shota said.
"I want money so my parents can take it easy," Hizashi read out loud. "I mean there are worse reasons,"
"My issue is how devoted is she to be a hero? If money is her aim a villain could buy her," Shota explained.
"That's something that we can try and find out if we offer her an interview," Hizashi countered.
"Perhaps," Shota mumbled.
"Got a winner here," Midnight suddenly spoke up.
"Oh?" Hizashi turned towards Midnight.
"Hand delivered by the applicant," Midnight said.
"So?" Shota asked.
"You'll want to read it," Midnight smiled handing Shota the application.
"Ok," Shota said slowly taking the paper. Midnight watched Shota as he read. She could tell where he was on the application each time his eyes flashed red.
"That's wrong on so many levels," Shota finally spoke having read the paper a few times over.
"If he's telling the truth we have to help him," Shota said through clenched teeth.
"Oh absolutely we will," Nezu's voice came over the intercom.
"Don't you have better things to do?" Hizashi asked looking up from his coffee. All he got in response was a chuckle.
~A Few Weeks Later~
To say Ochaco was nervous would be perhaps the biggest understatement of her life. She had gotten accepted into U.A.'s Future Heroes' Precourse. So save for utterly failing she was guaranteed a place in U.A.'s Hero course come time.
So here she was. Way too early for the precourse and frozen in front of the door to the class. 'What if I screw up? What if they decide my reason isn't good enough? What if?' Ochaco's anxiety screwed in her head running through bad end after bad end.
"You ok?" A tired voice asked.
"Who?" Ochaco nearly jumped out of her skin at the voice.
"Lost in thought?" the tired voice asked.
"A little," Ochaco replied turning to see a boy with gravity-defying purple hair and a pair of the most exhausted-looking eyes she'd ever seen.
"Shinso Hitoshi," Hitoshi offered his hand.
"Uraraka Ochaco," Ochaco smiled taking his hand.
"In the precourse too?" Hitoshi asked.
"Yeah. I guess I'm still trying to fully register that I got in," Ochaco explained.
"Right beside you there. I was surprised to get the acceptance letter. My mother nearly went through the roof in joy," Hitoshi chuckled lightly as he opened the door.
"Why are you here so early?" Ochaco asked.
"I hate crowds so I leave early to avoid the bulk of it," Hitoshi explained as the two stepped into the empty classroom. "You?"
"I kinda let my anxiety over getting in get the best of me," Ochaco answered.
"Been there," Hitoshi chuckled lightly again. "Wonder how many of us there are?" He added.
"Five in total at the moment," A deep voice answered.
"Gang Orca!" Ochaco shouted surprised to see the aquatic hero behind them.
"I will be your Precourse teacher. You may pick any seat you wish," Gang Orca said moving to his desk. "Well other than mine," he joked and smiled when Ochaco actually laughed at his dumb joke.
"I know you said there were only five of us... But I wasn't expecting only five desks too," Ochaco said.
"Yeah not a lot of choice where to sit," Hitoshi replied taking an outside desk. Ochaco took the one next to him.
"Wonder what our other three classmates will be like," Ochaco pondered out loud.
"Hopefully nobody too loud," Hitoshi said sinking into his desk chair.
"Precourse?" A voice asked from the door. Ochaco's eyes shot to the door. Another student was early. Her eyes found the boy. He had a similar tired look to his face like Hitoshi but not nearly as bad.
"Yes pick a seat," Gang Orca replied not looking up from his paperwork.
"Thanks," the short boy replied.
'I wonder if those balls on his head are his quirk?' Ochaco thought as the boy walked past her and took the seat at the otherside of the desks.
"And here I thought I was being clever coming to class early," a blonde boy said stepping into the room.
"Sorry not sorry," Hitoshi yawned out.
"Well you did beat one person," The short boy said from his desk.
"You are right... normally Midoriya's the first one here," Gang Orca said looking up towards a speaker. "Nezu would you be so kind as to put your game on hold. The class will be starting early,"
"Wonderful. Midoriya-san is already on his way," Nezu's voice replied.
"Midoriya-san already knows the Dean?" the blonde boy asked.
"He's been enrolled since the Precourse was announced due to special circumstances," Gang Orca replied.
"Sorry, our game of Shogi went a bit longer than planned," The class turned not expecting to hear the voice come from a window.
"Whoa," Ochaco said quietly as they all watched a green-winged boy gently fly into the room.
"I'm nearly finished setting up. You can take a few minutes to introduce yourselves," Gang Orca states.
"Thank you Kugo-sensei," Izuku smiles. "Greetings, I'm Midoriya Izuku,"
"Uraraka Ochaco, It's nice to meet you all," Ochaco smiled back at Izuku.
"Shinso Hitoshi," Hitoshi yawned out looking ready to fall asleep.
"Mineta Minoru," Minoru gave a short bow.
"Monoma Neito, I look forward to learning with you all," Neito grinned.
"Now then let's being," Kugo stated.
~U.A. Faculty Office~
The day had come and gone rather simply for Shota. Probably because he expelled half his class the first day and had just recently removed the rest of the class from the hero program. None of them were taking it seriously enough in his eyes.
Shota sighed as he checked his phone for the fifth time. Emi wasn't texting him back. He was really hoping that it was because he was still in the dog house since he fought Piercer by himself. But deep inside he worried. She should be teaching right now. But what if?
"You ok?" Hizashi asked.
"Not really. Emi's not messaging back," Shota replied quietly.
"Oh, still in the dog house are ya?" Hizashi asked.
"I-" Shota started before his phone starting ringing. A glance and his heart plummeted. "Hello?" he answered quickly.
"Aizawa-san. I'm calling from Mustafa General Hospital," Shota was already on the move. Running full speed through the halls. Hizashi beside him holding his keys. "There was an attack on a train. I'm sorry to inform you but your wife was badly hurt,"
"I'm on my way," Shota nearly shouted. 'Don't die Emi. Don't you dare die,'
"I got permission to use my siren," Hizashi shouted as they reached the faculty parking.
"Mustafa General Hospital," Shota stated.
~Precourse Classroom~
"Sorry to interrupt," Nezu's voice broke through the quiet study time. "Midoriya-san,"
"Yes sir?" Izuku shot to his feet.
"Permission to fly approved, Please report to Mustafa General Hospital. There was been a villain attack and we may need your skills," Nezu explained.
"I'm on my way," Izuku replied as he ran towards the open window. "I'll be back guys," he added as he lept out the window. Never happier that he took to flying so easily than right now.
"Wow he can really fly fast," Ochaco said watching Izuku speed away.
"How can flight help?" Minoru pondered.
"I have a feeling he can do more than fly if he was asked to go straight to the hospital," Hitoshi countered.
"Good point," Minoru agreed.
"Back to your reading. You can ask Mindoriya-san questions later," Kugo stated getting the four back to work.
~End Notes~ I hope you liked the chapter. Again sorry it took so long to get out.
