So, before I get this started, I'm going to begin by saying that this story is based on a deleted UTxRWBY crossover story, which was, of course, titled A Reset Gone Wrong. But, as this story title states, I am making a rewrite of that story. The story was fairly popular, while it lasted. Having over seventy favorites, over eighty followers, many views, and over sixty reviews before it's deletion. I don't have any other stories on this account, but I will say that I, originally, never wanted to make a story rewriting another story, because it just feels unoriginal. But A Reset Gone Wrong was a decent story in it's time, and likely left a lot of people unsatisfied. I also feel like I can do a lot with the basic ideas of the story that not many people would think of.

With that said, yes, the main plot of this story will be based on the same idea, just saying that for anyone who read the original. However, I hope to improve upon it greatly. As I feel like the original missed out on a lot of cool possibilities, and, while it tried to be unique, and was decently successful in that regard, it still felt like a lot of things were either forced in, or not original. The grammar was also decent, but could have improved. And while the fights weren't particularly bad, they held a lot of room for improvement. Although they did get better as the story progressed. Also, I will be doing review responses, to reviews I feel I should respond to, similarly to the original story.

By the way, the introduction of the first chapter is based upon Glitchtale's first episode, Meglomaniac, the actual fanfiction basically starts near the end of it.

Now then, time to begin.

Chapter 1

"I'm sorry...take my soul and fix my mistakes, one last time." the voice of a young human, wearing a blue sweater with two pink stripes, requests an exhausted, magical skeleton, before their body disappears without a trace, the only thing remaining being their soul, floating in the air.

Another young human, this one wearing a green sweater, with one yellow stripe, jumps forward, reaching out towards the soul in an attempt to take it for themselves, with the whites of their eyes turning pitch black, surrounding the red lines.

However, before they can, the hand of the skeleton reaches out, and grabs the soul quickly, red power erupting from the soul and blowing the remaining human back, as the skeleton absorbs the soul into his very being.

He opens his left eye-socket, having closed both during absorption. The left eye-socket reveals a glowing blue eye in the center. Right after, he opens his right eye, followed by the same sight.

The human raises their knife, a menacing grin on their face, still confident in their ability to defeat the opposition that remained strong, standing between them and the absolute.

"Hehe. Aren't you missing something buddy?" the skeleton asks, the young humans smile quickly turning into a frown, then noticing that the skeleton's left hand is raised over an orange and black button in the air behind him, with the word "RESET" on it.

The human's frown immediately deepened, their eyes darkened alongside it at the sight of such a powerful ability, one to undo seemingly any event, including all of the progress they had made, under the use of their greatest adversary. Afterwards, the skeleton raised his right hand in the air, getting ready to snap his fingers.

"But first…" he speaks again, before proceeding.

Immediately following the snap, a bone emerged from the floor, impaling the young human in less than a second, and raising them high, near the ceiling. Once their ascent ended, they were surrounded by nine dragon-like skulls from every direction, energy building up inside each skull's mouth, before firing, annihilating the young human in a time frame smaller than a microsecond.

"Get dunked on, you megalomaniac." he finishes, before finally activating the button.

However, something that went unnoticed by him, was that immediately following his activation, the button flashing green, the word "RESET" had changed. Instead, it read "BEGIN", before everything seemed to flash out of existence.

-Time Skip-

Sans opened his eyes, and immediately processed his surroundings in surprise, getting up from the ground he had previously laid on quickly. He, despite confusion replacing his surprise, immediately tried to calm himself, and think rationally.

'Where am I? This isn't a place in the Underground, let alone my room, which is where I should be.'

While he didn't know his specific location, he knew one thing. He quickly realized that he was on the surface. He felt the wind, the fresh air, and there were no rocky walls in sight. Furthermore, he had already looked up, and took in the sight of stars in the night sky, as well as a half shattered moon, which he decided he'd think about later.

Then, he noticed something else, probably more concerning.

He could FEEL the wind, he could BREATH, his body didn't feel normal, either. Even ignoring the weight difference, he just didn't feel...right.

He raised his hands, palms directed at his face, and widened his eyes at the sight of skin. Human skin.

He didn't seem much different in height, if at all, and he could still feel that he was capable of his normal magic, but his body was definitely that of a human. He felt his new heart beating, partially due to his current level of shock, and because he had never had a heart before. Having any organs would be weird for a monster, let alone one of the skeleton class. He also took note of his strength being exponentially higher than normal.

He decided to shrug it all off for now, though, choosing instead to focus on where he was.

Happy that he was at least still wearing his usual clothes, he put his hands in his jacket pockets, and looked around again.

'Looks like I'm in a forest, seems like I'm pretty deep into it, too.'

Sans then remembered something, and reached his left hand down into his left jacket pocket quickly, in search for a device.

"There it is." Sans quietly mutters out loud in satisfaction, before pulling out his phone.

At first glance, it'd look like a simple phone with a keychain that you'd just use to call and text people. But in truth, it had a wide range of abilities, although Sans wasn't interested in any of them at the moment.

He checked the top right of the screen, and as he somewhat expected, there was no signal. This meant he couldn't connect to the UnderNet, nor call and text people through the phone. And those things meant he must be very far away from the Underground. Even someone on the surface, miles away should be capable of accessing the UnderNet, although there were specific requirements for doing so, to prevent humans from gaining access to it.

Taking a sigh, he put his phone back in his pocket, slightly thankful for the fact that he even had it with him in the first place.

'Well, waiting here isn't gonna help, guess I'll just go look around.' he decided, beginning to walk in a random direction.

-Time Skip-

"Well, this is interesting." Sans says out loud, taking note of the creatures in front of him.

When he first saw them, he assumed they were some weird, if not unknown kind of wolves.

However, despite their appearances, they couldn't be viewed as wolves. They couldn't even be viewed as living creatures. They were nothing Sans had ever seen or heard of before. Furthermore, they were things that simply shouldn't even be able to exist. He couldn't tell purely by their appearance, but he figured it out when he attempted to view their souls. What surprised Sans, however, was that he couldn't see their souls, rather, it wasn't that he couldn't see them, it was that these creatures truly did not have souls in the first place. This honestly disturbed Sans slightly, before he began to analyze the creatures a bit more.

He could tell quickly enough that these creatures were evil. Not evil in the sense that they were simply bad natured. They were literally the concept of evil manifested in physical forms. Truthfully, while Sans kept composed, he did truly feel uneasiness and even a hint of disgust at these beings. For his whole life, it was pretty much fact to Sans that any living creature, even disregarding only sentient creatures, have souls. And for his whole life, it was fact that a creature absolutely could not live without one, at least not in a similar manner to these beings. Sure, you could live with a partial soul, a hollow soul, a simple link to someone else's soul, or similar things. But to live with complete absence of any soul since your very creation should be impossible.

Yet, personified evil lacking any trace of a soul stood before him, ready to attack the former skeleton.

The creatures had noticed Sans after he spoke near them, and were currently growling at him, on their hands and feet, ready to pounce.

Finally, deciding it was in a good position to attack its prey, one of the creatures, which got behind him for a flank, charged forward.

It closed the distance relatively quickly, and once it reached close enough for a lethal strike, it jumped up, raising it's right claws far up above itself, and brought them down at Sans with the velocity from it's descent, attempting to kill him then and there.

Surprisingly to all of the creatures, he instantly moved several meters away, barely moving his legs and feet at all, with a nonchalant expression on his face. To him, it was a simple dodge at moderate speeds, to them, he was a very fast blur that couldn't even be properly tracked.

Sans took his hands out of his jacket and put them behind his back, deciding it was time to fight. Not that he had much need to. He simply decided that it'd be a good opportunity to test their strength, in case he may have future encounters, although he had already guessed they weren't that tough based on the first attack.

The creatures, despite their confusion and surprise at his speed, did not falter.

One of them, on Sans's far right, began to charge similarly to the first, a very predictable attack pattern.

Sans didn't even look directly at the creature, and when it was slightly over eight feet away, a large bone rose from the ground at high speeds, impaling the creature through its chest before it could even react, and coming out the other side just as fast. Like an incendiary high caliber bullet hitting a single sheet of paper, there was no resistance.

The bone quickly disappeared, and the creature's corpse fell to the ground. Sans noticed that the creature was dissipating, with no blood in sight, not at all dissimilar from a monster turning to dust, he took note of it, and stored it in the back of his head on the list of things he'd need to look into.

The other creatures were shocked, not knowing how to respond. But, due to their lack of intelligence, let alone experience, they remained aggressive.

"These things don't act like normal animals. Any standard pack of wolves would run away by now. These things don't view me as prey to feed off of, they just want to kill me." Sans deduced quickly.

Deciding he had enough of them, his left eye flashes blue, activating a small portion of his magic.

Three bones shot out from between the trees behind him, flying towards the creatures very quickly. They could just barely perceive the bones as a blur, much too fast for them to avoid, before the bones pierced them in their heads, killing the creatures instantly.

Sans then summoned a Gaster Blaster behind the last remaining one, which only managed to turn around and see a large light before being completely obliterated, leaving no visible trace remaining.

"It only took me about twenty minutes to come across these things after starting to walk around, which means they might be a bit common around here. Either that or I'm just really unlucky." he concludes, before continuing his random walk through the forest.

-Time Skip-

Sans took a small sigh, happy at the sight before him. After nearly an hour of walking, he found a road, well, more so just a trail, but it was clearly made by some form of civilization, meaning he shouldn't be too far from a town or something of the sort.

Standing on the trail, he simply went left, and hoped for the best.

-Time Skip-

Sans looked ahead with surprise, at the sight and smell of something he recognized. Fire.

After about an hour and twenty minutes of walking since his arrival in this place, he spotted a large amount of smoke streaming into the sky, and a giant glow in the far distance, illuminating the night.

'I could walk there at a faster pace, but it'd take me almost twenty minutes. If there are people there, they may be in trouble. I should help them out, if that's the case. They could help me out here.' he concludes.

So, instead of walking, Sans did something completely different.

To any person who would have been watching, Sans appeared to take a single step, before flashing out of existence completely.

When he activates this power, he, any object, and any person he desires will simply appear where he wishes with no time spent in between. There are only three weaknesses, the first two weaknesses being that he must either see his destination, or must have already been at the destination before. Sans had already tried this shortly after beginning his walk to try returning home, but quickly gave up after a few tries with his favorite places. The third weakness being that anything or anyone he wants to teleport must be within a five foot range before activating the ability on them.

Of course, he didn't see his new destination, or know about it before, so he simply teleported down the trail, very far away from his previous location.

Reappearing, he saw the fire again, now only a little over a hundred meters away from it.

With that done, he simply began speed walking to it.

He arrived in less than a minute, and was surprised, before understanding the situation quickly.

'Bandits, huh?'

What stood before him was a village, or at least, what remained of one. The fire he noticed before was originating from several homes, including the largest, which Sans assumed was the most important. Human corpses littered the ground within the settlement, Sans being able to count well over a dozen with merely a glance, he even saw a woman getting impaled through the back from a sword wielded by an insane man, who merely smiled at the sight.

Sans, while not pleased by the sight, wasn't too disturbed. Not like he hadn't seen worse.

"Better help 'em out before there's nothing left to save." Sans concludes, beginning to walk right into the village.

Sans's eyes began to dart around, looking over everything within, his mind being able to perceive, process, and understand it all immediately after view.

Sans noted twenty-three bandits, and eight remaining civilians, three of them being traumatized, frightened children locked in cages that couldn't do anything other than cry. Sans understood the multiple possible reasons for their confinement fast enough, but didn't bother to think of them beyond his guesses, as it wouldn't matter as long as he saved the kids.

Done analyzing the situation, Sans teleported behind a bandit, with the bandit's left hand raising, holding a short axe meant for butchering people, and getting ready to murder a young, brown haired man who had attempted to fight back with a knife.

The man began to bring the axe down, the younger man cowering. However, before the axe could even cover ten percent of the distance, the man was stopped by a bone piercing him from the back, coming out of his chest on the other side with ease.

In shock, he dropped the axe to the ground, the unbearable pain, including a strange burning feeling, beginning to surface. However, he didn't need to worry about suffering, as he died within seconds.

The bone disappeared, and the corpse dropped to the ground, falling on his right side.

The younger man opened his eyes, only seeing Sans for a moment, before Sans teleported once more.

The death of their ally alerted a number of the other bandits, who also only caught a glimpse of Sans before he disappeared.

Sans reappeared behind four bandits grouped together, who were lined up in a row.

He summoned a Gaster Blaster to their right side, which they heard and began to turn their heads towards, before their foolish choice of positioning caused all four of them to die at once, from a laser of pure magic energy instantly destroying their bodies on a cellular level, while tearing their very souls apart, before reducing them to nothing.

Finally, the other bandits saw Sans fully. They, not wanting to falter at the sight of his powers, either got on guard, charged forward, or raised their guns, depending on what weapons they had.

Turning around, Sans once again analyzed the situation.

'Three charging at me, one wielding a dagger, the other a sledgehammer, and the last one being the sword guy who killed that woman, before. Only two people with guns, one of them has a revolver, the other has some kind of rifle. The last of them seem to be mainly focused on defense, with some small weapons.' he summarized in his mind, the entire thought taking up only nearly a hundredth of a second in reality.

Sans opted for a quick finish.

He summoned a wall of bones in front of him, as the two gunners began to fire at him, although all bullets were easily blocked by the wall.

Suddenly, a wave of bones began to rapidly appear, starting from the wall, and increasing both in size and speed when expanding outwards.

To the bandits, all of these bones had seemingly just appeared into existence, instantly, and the wave of bones reached the three charging bandits within moments.

The bones easily pierced through the charging bandits, killing them instantly.

All of the bones disappeared right after, and Sans was nowhere to be seen.

'I guess it wouldn't hurt to see how strong I am in a physical sense, now.' Sans decided in his mind.

He had teleported behind the revolver wielding bandit, the moment he teleported being the extremely tiny gap between when the bones disappeared and before the eyes of his opponents could even perceive his existence once more.

Standing right behind the bandits left side, Sans had his right hand raised near his own face, balled into a fist, his left hand in his left jacket pocket.

Due to the height difference, Sans had to lightly hop up, before swinging the back of his right fist towards the left side of the bandits face.

Before the bandit, or even the bandits who had briefly spotted Sans behind him could react, the back of his fist hit the bandit, and immediately, it generated a shocking level of force.

The force tore through the flesh like wet hands through tissue paper, before the head was dislocated from the body not even a second later, shooting off with all of the bones on its left side shattered. It landed on the ground with a light thud, a completely disfigured, only vaguely human looking head, the body slightly spurting out some blood before falling over lifelessly.

All of the bandits were shocked and afraid, even Sans was significantly surprised at his new strength.

"Fuck this!" one of the bandits on defense shouted, before running off, the other bandits fleeing in a similar manner, all of them seeing that they were very clearly outmatched.

Sans didn't give them another glance at that point, merely returning his attention to the surviving humans, he noticed that there were now seven, one of them having been killed during his arrival.

The survivors, themselves, didn't know how to feel. They were glad to have been saved, but lost almost everything, and had no idea who their savior was. They were also in shock at the power they had witnessed.

The remaining humans, taking a few seconds to process the situation fully, stood up, but kept their faces aimed at the ground. Some in anger, some still in shock, most filled with pure despair.

Sans, deciding now wasn't a good time to start asking questions, walked over to the set of cages containing the children.

He effortlessly ripped the cages open with his new strength, letting the children out.

After opening them all, he simply stood there, allowing all of the villagers to regroup.

Most couldn't or didn't want to say something, but eventually, the young man Sans had directly saved earlier spoke, directing his face and words towards Sans.

"Thank you…" he muttered, just loudly enough for Sans to hear.

Sans didn't respond verbally, merely closing his eyes and slightly nodding.

The remaining villagers, having nothing to do at the moment, simply approached Sans after half a minute of collecting themselves, the children experiencing feelings of denial and despair more than anyone else.

The oldest of them stepped forward and spoke to Sans.

"Though we have lost most of what we have, we are grateful for your help. I know I do not deserve to ask you this, but please, bring us to the town of Balur." he requests.

"Alright, I don't mind doing that." Sans bluntly responds, the villagers not knowing that this would be benefiting Sans.

"Also, if you don't mind me asking, what's your name?"

Sans thought for a moment, and decided it wouldn't hurt to share his name.

"Sans, also, honestly, I don't have any idea where Balur is." he replies, surprising everyone in front of him.

"You don't? Aren't you a Huntsman?" he asks in bewilderment.

"Nope. Just a normal guy wandering around. I stumbled upon your village being attacked, and decided to help out. Sorry I didn't come around sooner, though."

After Sans explained himself, the eldest spoke once more.

"Please, do not apologize. Regardless of whether or not you arrived at the best time, you saved our lives, and gave our attackers a portion of the same despair they've put us through. Now then, since you are not aware of where our new destination is, I suppose we will need to do our best in guiding you, with your protection to help us."

"Sounds fine to me. Lead the way."

-Time Skip-

Sans stood over bright crystal blue water, looking into it to view his reflection.

They had just stopped by a river nearly an hour into their journey. The villagers needed to rest, and get some water, so they decided to take a thirty minute break.

Sans viewed this as a good chance to take a look at himself, since he didn't have a mirror on hand. And while he could take a picture of his face using his phone, he hadn't bothered trying to see how he looked until now, and it'd be weird to do it in front of the villagers.

He examined his face quickly, not bothering too much to look at details. Brown hair with white edges, both pupils were bright, ocean blue, surrounded by a layer of red, and all of his skin was white, nearing the pale level of snow. Definitely a unique appearance.

"Is something wrong? You look like you've never seen your own face before." a human adult he hadn't talked to spoke up, a middle aged man.

"Heh…" Sans only laughed lightly in response, confusing the man.

"Don't worry about it. Anyways, I haven't gotten any of your names yet, it'll probably be easier to talk with you all, if I know who you are."

"Ah, sure. I'm Mandrake Vulcan. The woman over there is Amaya Tara, she's kind, but also a little naive, and quickly falls under pressure. The elderly man is Lark Magus, he is, while also kind, practically opposite from Amaya, he is realistic, not fooled easily, and does his best under pressure. The brown haired young man is Xander Oran, he tries his best to always be rational, but can be easily angered depending on the scenario, and doesn't go down without a fight. That young girl is Petra Selena, she was always bright, both in intelligence, and personality, but I can't imagine what she's feeling right now, she had parents, and an older brother, they were all killed during the attack. The two young boys near her are two brothers. Vaughn and Vega, both last names being Leonidas. Vaughn constantly loses his temper and gets into trouble, needing to get saved by Vega who is much more calm and reliable. Regardless of their faults, they are both kind children who care about each other and those around them." he explained, Sans taking in all of the information.

"Thanks for the explanation. By the way, do you know how far away the town is?" he asked, referring to their destination.

"It should be about sixteen miles away, I believe." he answers.

Sans internally sighed at the distance, but didn't respond out loud.

-Time Skip-

"So, Sans." Amaya spoke, catching his attention.

Currently, they were on a trail, simply walking towards Balur. No one had spoken since the break, and nearly twenty minutes had passed between then and now.

"Yeah?"

"Where do you come from, if you don't mind me asking?"

Sans wondered how to answer the question, but decided on a simple response with little context.

"Just a little town called Snowdin, very far away." he answers.

"What's it like? I assume it has snow, based on the name?" she asks.

"Yep. It's a cozy little place, a population nearing one hundred. We had just enough to live comfortably. But even if we didn't, we would be able to do well with what we had. Everyone there is your friend. There's a little restaurant called Grillby's, it was one of my favorite spots."

Everyone had been interested, and listened closely, wondering what kind of place such a person would have lived in. But it sounded like a place fairly similar to their previous home.

"I'm more interested in the powers you displayed back there." Vega spoke next, still feeling emotional and traumatized about the recent attack, which would last for a long time, but had, for the most part, regained his composure.

"That's right. You used what looked like bones, some sort of giant skull thing that shot a damn laser out of its mouth, and you moved way faster than any normal person should be able to." Xander spoke, all of them turning their attention to Sans, hoping for answers.

"Let's just say I know a few things other people don't. I'd rather not get into it."

The villagers felt slightly disappointed, but complied silently nonetheless.

"So, what's Balur like?" he asked, Lark deciding to speak next, in response.

"It's a lively town with a population of roughly four-hundred. It is very well protected, and has a direct connection with the kingdom of Mistral, consistently receiving supplies from Mistral's main city. It's also a place that takes in people like us, who have lost their homes out here. Several Huntsmen live within it, and getting Huntsmen over to it isn't much of an issue, so things like Grimm and bandits aren't too concerning. They are also very well known for their chocolate and ale." he explained.

'Based on what I'm hearing, I guess Huntsmen are probably the greatest fighters around here. Probably hired to protect people. I'd guess that the Grimm are those pitch-black creatures I saw before.' Sans deduced mentally.

A few seconds of silence passed, before Amaya spoke again.

"Forgive me if this is rude, but I can't help but wonder how old you are. You look like you're no older than...I'd say fourteen, but you seem very powerful, intelligent, and experienced. Your expressions alone do not look befitting of someone so young, either."

Sans was aware that he looked young, learning that after his gaze into the water, at himself. Apparently, his appearance merging with Frisk's also caused him to appear the same age as Frisk. It didn't help that both he and the kid were somewhat short, only nearing five feet. Then he contemplated something. Depending on where he was, it could be a better decision to act like he really was only at his current physical age. At the same time, it may complicate things in the future, and he didn't like lying if it wasn't necessary, either.

Thinking for a brief time, he came to a conclusion.

"Yeah, physically, my body just isn't that matured yet, it's a growth problem. I am an adult, though." he partially lied.

Of course, even if he wanted to tell the full truth, it wouldn't be smart. Telling a group of people you just met that you were originally a skeleton monster, who became a monster-human hybrid, via absorbing the soul of a human child, who murdered everyone you loved, but also sacrificed themselves in the end, to fix their mistakes by giving you their soul, so you could use their powers to manipulate time itself...well, it wasn't a good idea to say that, most likely.

"I see, sorry for mentioning it, if it's personal." she apologized, but Sans lightly shook his head.

"Don't worry, it's fine. I may have asked the same thing in your position." he responded.

Once again, silence fell over the group, and they continued walking solemnly.

"Is that it?" Sans asked, remarking a large settlement in the far distance, barely visible to the average human eye, but as clear as water for Sans.

Everyone looked, squinting their eyes slightly. The only ones who could see it, other than Sans, were Amaya and Xander.

"I think so. It would line up properly with the time we've spent walking, anyways." Xander answered.

"Well what're we waiting for? Let's hurry over." Mandrake spoke, for the first time since the break.

With that said, they began to move again, this time at a faster pace than before.

Of course, the attack from only several hours ago would leave a large scare in the survivors forever. The mental effects it would bring will be crippling. But, at the moment, they felt resolve, hope, and happiness at the fact that they could continue to live on. Because if they couldn't, they wouldn't even be capable of remembering those who have fallen. And that would be the worst possible outcome.

As for Sans, he was happy to have finally reached a large settlement, and didn't mind having saved some people in the meantime. Now, he would finally be able to get started.

-Time Skip-

After a few minutes, they had covered enough distance for all of them to see the town clearly, also seeing people already, including guards at the front gate who were looking back at them. And confirming their beliefs, there was a sign that simply read "Town of Balur".

Eventually, once they reached about a fifty-foot distance, the guards approached them. To men wearing standard armor and wielding sheathed swords.

"Hello, is there something you need?" the guard on the right asked.

After a couple seconds of silence, Lark stepped forward and answered.

"We come from Orton village. Which was very recently destroyed by bandits."

Upon his answer, the guards were very surprised, but not at the claim of the village being destroyed. They quickly composed themselves, and understood the situation.

"That makes sense. A Huntsman passed by the village, and saw the destruction. After reporting back to us, he began to search for you, because, after he informed us of the casualties, we realized that there would be more, if the bandits were thorough, which meant some of the villagers must have either been captured or managed to escape. I guess it was the latter. But still, how did you make it out of there? Sure they weren't Huntsman level, barely even on the level of a large Grimm pack, but they still outnumbered and overpowered you." the guard asked, slightly impressed.

"Oh, I suppose escape isn't the right word. We had a little...help." Lark continued, before turning to look at Sans, who nodded.

"Heya." Sans greeted the guards.

"Wait...you're telling me this kid took out the bandits by himself?" the other guard asked, very skeptical of the claim.

"Yeah! You should've seen him." Xander lightly exclaimed with excitement.

"He must be at least as strong as a professional Huntsman." Xander added, causing the more skeptical guard to chuckle lightly.

"Yeah, sure…" he sarcastically agreed, before his partner spoke up.

"Actually, it may not be wrong. We were told that some of the bandits had actually been killed, and that their wounds were anything but normal. They said it was unlikely for the wounds to have been inflicted by standard weapons, let alone weapons wielded by people who don't even know how to fight. Hell, one of the damn bandits had their entire head taken clean off, the reports suggest that it was done from a fist."

The guard, still not believing the claims, dismissed it with a shrug.

"There's just no way a single kid could kill multiple armed bandits, and in a way that it caused the others to just give up and run. You can keep talking, but I'm not buying that until I see it." he claimed, causing his partner to take a sigh with resignation, before returning his attention to the survivors.

"Sorry about that. Anyways, regardless of how you got here, your village is destroyed, I'm sorry to hear that. But thankfully, we have plenty of space right now. You can go ahead." the guard says, giving them space, and giving them access to the town.

-Time Skip-

Two days had passed since their arrival at the town, and things were going well for them all. The surviving villagers had spent most of their time at the place they had come here for, and greatly appreciated the town's charity.

Sans had spent the time learning about this place, the best he could without coming off as suspicious, at least. Thankfully, this town did have a library, and the people were mostly friendly enough to talk with.

But, he also quickly realized something slightly concerning. Him gaining a human body had its benefits, in multiple aspects, although it still felt uncomfortable to Sans, but now he realized that he would need sustenance. As a skeleton, he didn't really need to eat or drink, he just did it because he liked it, and because it was still good for his soul.

Now though, eating was a genuine necessity, one he'd need to do every day, which bothered him slightly. He still had some monster food, but decided he'd save it, just in case.

What bothered him about needing to eat a lot wasn't that it'd be a common need, but because of what happens when humans eat human food. In his life, he had studied human biology quite a bit. It was a big surprise when he learned that humans have skeletons in their bodies, but that wasn't the cause for concern here. He knew about their digestive system, and he knew what happens shortly after human food is digested by them.

Sans had experienced the side-effects on his second day at the town, and he did not like it, to say the least.

On more relevant topics, Sans had quickly learned more about where he was. He was in the town of Balur, a town connected with the Kingdom of Mistral, all on a continent called Anima. It became obvious to Sans that he wasn't on Earth anymore, at all, although he had already guessed that for multiple reasons, let alone the moon being partially shattered.

The surrounding continents were Sanus, which held the Kingdoms of Vale and Vacuo, Solitas, which held the Kingdom of Atlas, and Menagerie, which didn't have a kingdom like the rest. Apparently, there was also an unnamed continent somewhere between Sanus and Solitas, which some have dubbed as "No Man's Land", simply for the fact that it was surrounded and infested by Grimm.

Speaking of Grimm, Sans learned more about them, but the description of what exactly they were was something he had already gathered. Soulless beings of incarnated evil. He learned that apparently there are many different types of Grimm, and that the very small pack he encountered were very common, and among the weakest of them. He had focused more on other things, though.

He had spent some more time thinking about his new body, but understood it easily enough. After absorbing Frisk's soul, and after whatever happened to send him here, it seemed that his body somehow merged with Frisk's own, due to both the absorption of their soul and something else happening that caused a seemingly permanent merging. Undoubtedly, this was something that never happened before, or at least, not something that was documented.

Sans had heard about Dust a bit, but didn't pay much mind to it.

The three things that were perhaps most interesting for Sans, however, were the differences in souls.

Humans in his world had powerful souls capable of many things, and any of them could use magic, if they knew how. Just a group of seven, with their high level wizards, could create The Barrier, a massive structure so powerful that it would require a godlike being to destroy.

The humans in this world were different, though. Their souls, while still stronger than an average monster soul, were far, far weaker than any human soul in his world, and none of them were capable of magic, seemingly.

However, they had unique attributes not belonging to his world. In his world, a soul was the culmination of a creature's very being. That, itself, wasn't different here. But their ability to use Aura, and Semblances, were a different matter. They could manifest their souls physically, to increase their own strength, put up a full-body shield, heal themselves, or even apply it to objects.

Aura was the physical manifestation of one's soul, while a Semblance was more so a projection of the user's Aura, or soul. A Semblance is unique to everyone, and is theorized to be linked with a creature's personality. Sans understood this and supported the theory, as a souls color was also linked to their defining personality trait, which made even further sense, as Aura seemed to have a different color depending on the user, although the soul trait colors seemed to be different in this world.

With all of this, Sans began to wonder if he could use Aura. After learning all he could about it from this place, he had decided that he'd give it a try when he had the chance. Unfortunately, unlocking an Aura either requires a lot of effort and training, or someone to unlock it for you. Sans had neither, and didn't wanna bother with training, either. He decided that he'd wait for someone to unlock it eventually, assuming he could use it in general.

Other than that, Sans learned about more minor things, such as this world's currency, political views, some of their history, and, most notably, the existence of Faunus. Humanoid beings that are near identical to humans, but with extra, animalistic-body parts. He had some sympathy for them, as they were heavily discriminated against for their unique traits.

Overall, Sans was doing fine. The town of Balur treated him well, and he gained a great deal of knowledge from his time there. He had also spent some time with the villagers. They had just gotten hit with the true despair, as previously, they were in too much shock to fully process their new lives, but they had already started slowly getting better. Unfortunately, Sans would need to be leaving soon.

With his current situation, he hadn't ruled out the possibility that others from his world may be here. Regardless of the likelihood, Sans had set his mind on searching, which he would begin doing soon enough.

-Time Skip-

"Welp, I guess this is it." Sans states, turning around to look at the villagers he had saved.

They were standing near the exit of the town. Only four days in total had passed since their arrival at the village, but Sans had no desire to stay any longer. The villagers were saddened, but not too much. They didn't think Sans would stay for too long, so him leaving now wasn't much of a surprise, although they did feel guilty that they wouldn't be able to truly repay him, aside from the kids, who he had yet to speak with, but they had quickly grown to respect him, and appreciated his help.

"I will say once more, we all greatly thank you for your help. None of us would still live, without your protection. I wish you luck on your journey." Lark responds, all of them nodding.

"Will we ever meet again?" Amaya asks, who Sans turns his eyes to, he took a moment, before opening his mouth.

"...I can't say for sure. No promises, but I'll come and see you, if I'm ever nearby." he answers, she only nodded silently in acceptance.

With that said, Sans turned back, to look at the exit, and walked off. Having said everything he needed to say.

End of Chapter 1

Alright, there's chapter 1. I feel like it was a little lacking, but that's because it was just the introduction. I'll try to make better chapters in the future, though. I hope this was good enough for the start, still. Feel free to review, I'm open to any support, suggestions, and criticism.
