The smoke bomb was able to sneak the team backstage of the Bossbot Clubhouse.
"Well…now we're in," says Honey Lemon, remaining optimistic.
"MonkeyMoney to SuperTeam, come in SuperTeam." Hiro hears a voice in his helmet.
"SuperTeam here. We made it backstage. What's your status?"
"We made it inside. We just have to defeat some Cogs to get their butler suits. Just try to sneak around and find your body, okay?"
"Roger." He then directs the rest of the team backstage. Compared to the rest of the town they are in, this felt a little foreboding. It was mostly grey and it mainly consisted of gears and such.
"How are we supposed to find the body in this," asks Wasabi.
"We just need to keep searching. If it's back here then there should be an exhibition room or something. They did say this is supposed to be an auction or something." With that in mind, the team starts sneaking around, hoping to find something.
Meanwhile…
The Toons managed to defeat the Cogs and acquire their butler suits. Luckily, they manage to piece the parts together to make and operate disguises just as the Bossbot C.E.O. opens the door to the hall.
"What are you Cogs doing?! The auction is about to start! Hurry up and start feeding our esteemed guests." He rolls away, leaving the door open for the Toons to follow behind, with each going to one of two sides to begin serving them oil. They each hope that the team holds it out long enough for them to find the body until they're eventually discovered.
The team, speaking of whom, is still sneaking until they find a door.
"The door leads to the hall," says Baymax, but with his audio lower to arouse suspicion.
"Alright, now we just need to-" Hiro's words are cut off by the sound of footsteps approaching. They all took this as a sign to hide from whoever's coming, finding space next to the door, conveniently sized for all of them.
"Convenience. Nice," whispers Fred. He, along with his teammates, see a bunch of Cogs pulling carts containing items under tarps. The team assumes that these were the items being auctioned, with them taking particular notice of an item on a cart. It is being pulled by those two Cogs they first encountered: Dr. Asteroik and Dr. Phyzzy.
"The buyers are gonna LOVE what we put together," says Dr, Phyzzy.
"Indeed," says Dr. Asteroik. "Just as long as no pesky Toons interfere."
"Oh, they probably will. Still, we can just activate this and BOOM!"
"Hmm…" The two continue wheeling out as the team starts to get an idea of what is under the tarp. They all keep quiet, however, when a larger figure rolls past. A larger Cog is walking up to the stage, dressed in golfing attire and looking just slightly taller than a Big Cheese. They could only assume that this is the Master of Ceremonies for the event.
"The show must be starting," says Hiro. "Hopefully those Toons have everything settled…"
The Toons did manage to blow up some of the Cogs by feeding them too much oil, resulting in about a good half or so Cogs remaining as the Master of Ceremonies
"Good evening, ladies and gentlecogs. And welcome to the Creation Cogregation Banquet and Auction." The Cogs clap formally as both teams eyed them.
"We did get a good amount," whispers Shadow Carrot. "Now what?"
"We wait," says GamerByrd, bluntly.
"But why wait," whispers Gogo to the others. "Why can't we just attack them now?"
"One, it makes things more dramatic. And two, we don't know what types of inventions these Cogs could have to show off. We need to lay low until the perfect time to strike."
Gogo facepalms a bit, noting why they can't just attack all the Cogs and find the body.
"Well," says Wasabi, speaking up, "we know little to nothing about this place. He's right, we should stay here until they give us the all-clear."
The banquet went on for a while as the Cogs went up and demonstrated some of their techs. Among them was the Stapler Gun, which is...a gun that shoots staplers. Some of the Cogs found it interesting. Another invention the Cogs showed off was the Wire Bearer, which was a large box that sprouts wires that incapacitate then electrify enemies. Big Hero 6 was shocked at inventions like that.
"Can't believe how inhumane the Cogs can be," says Gogo with a look of disgust on her face.
"And to think the Toons have to deal with stuff like this every day and yet come out as chipper as ever…" Honey thinks back to how positive the Toons tend to be despite essentially being in a state of eternal war. She stops talking when she sees the two Cog scientists from before about to present their bot.
"Ugh," whispers Shadow Carrot, "it's these Cogs."
"Good evening," says Dr. Phyzzy. "You may know us from the factory of Sellbot HQ…" They got little to no responses from the other Cogs. "...okay, so anyway, here we have created a machine so intricate, so powerful, so deadly that those Toons won't stand a single chance! For you see, this machine was once a broken deactivated robot floating all alone in a dimensional plane…" Hiro starts to get a shocked look on his face, much to his friends' worries. They quickly huddle around him and try to keep him calm. "...until me and Dr. Asteroik retrieved it. We spent much time offscreen repurposing this once deactivated useless bot into something more…"
"Your blood pressure is elevating," says Baymax in low volume, monitoring Hiro, whose anger is rising every second of them talking.
"I'm fine…"
"...so it is with distinguished pleasure that we introduce to you…" Dr. Asteroik removed the tarp, showcasing what they have done. The original Baymax body from the void was no more. Now, it is a business-suited Cog like the rest of them, with his suit being brown with a tie symbol in the middle and his head currently intact and also brown. "...the Macromanager!" Hiro tries to breathe between his words but his anger is reaching its peak. "...we took his current technology and fitted it more to our standards. His attacks now hit harder and his business tactics are completely off the charts! Now, allow us to give a demonstration…"
Suddenly BH6 felt themselves being sprayed on with dust. Within seconds, their movements are halted, only allowing them to move their eyes. With the team immobilized, a couple of Corporate Raiders and Mr. Hollywoods carry them to the hall.
"...featuring some guests who are ever so lucky to accompany us."
This did not go unnoticed by the Toons, who decide now is the time to act.
"GamerByrd to team, we need to act now. They're onto us." The dog then unleashes a large bomb and sends it to one of the tables, exploding on contact.
"It's the Toonforce! Cogs, stop them!" All of the Cogs in attendance enter battle mode, showing off their impressive array of weaponry, with the presenters of the Cogregation jumping into battle with their inventions. "Meanwhile, let me take this time to show off what the Macromanager can do." The former healthcare robot raises a fist at the team, prepared to fire.
"It's time to take a more hands-on approach," he says in a more Cog-like tone. If Hiro could cry he would. An invention made by his brother to help people, now modified to hurt, even if these creatures were more durable than he expected. Still, he can't help but fathom the thought of such a robot in his own world, with a look on his face that did not go unnoticed by the rest of the team. The fist, still raised, prepares to fire...but then it's suddenly taped down. By Shadow Carrot, who snuck up to the group.
"Yeah. Well, your 'hands-on approach may have a few flaws to it." Then she turns to the team. "The Demotion should wear off in just a few seconds, don't worry." She then takes a stance and fights off incoming bots with Squirt-based weaponry while Chef Bear keeps the Macromanager at bay with a giant quick-drying cake. This gave the team enough time to break free from their demotion and jump into battle positions, with Hiro sounding serious as ever.
"We need to defeat these bots but keep the original body safe. Honey, Fred, Wasabi, you help the other animals, Gogo, Baymax, and I will remain here." Everyone jumps into battle with their orders delivered, each trio finding a trio of Toons to fight alongside.
A couple of battle scenes later…
The team is getting quick to overwhelm the Macromanager as some of the Toons and Gogo kept the Cogs targeting them at bay. Chef Bear had a special quick-drying cake recipe that kept him still, even with all his enhancements. This gives Blanketon and Hiro, being the two geniuses, enough time to access the chip compartment, which luckily remains active as it opens and displays two chips. One is the red battle chip that Hiro made long ago, and the other being a brand new chip, with the emblem of a Bossbot on it.
"This must be what's making him a Bossbot," says Blanketon. Hiro looks distraught at the new chip before the pig reassures him. "Don't worry. These robots won't hurt him anymore!" She pulls the chip out as the compartment closes. As soon as it does, the bot shuts down, with Bear removing the cake as soon as it's completely deactivated.
"Now we just need to get the body out of here! Don't you guys have a trolley or portal on you?!" Hiro is getting frantic as he climbs back on top of Baymax and activates flight mode. They may be able to fly but they still need the rest of the team.
"Don't worry," says GamerByrd as he pulls a portable hole out, stretching it as wide as he can. "We got this. All teammates, we have what we came for. Enter the portal now!"
All of the heroes regroup and, one by one, jump into the portal. GamerByrd, using cartoon physics here, grabs and carries the bot with him, being the last to enter. As the hole closes, all that's left is a room filled with mostly broken bots, with only some Cogs still standing, but weakened.
Moments later…
Flippy paces the floor as construction goes on in the room next to him. His current plan is to surprise his guests if the mission goes successful. And his worries are gone as the two teams come down into the base, with the original Baymax body in tow.
"Great! You did it! I mean it's not a surprise considering the story's about to end but anyway…" He whistles for a team of monkeys to retrieve the body and quickly remove the Cog influences from it. Luckily, considering the bot was mainly wearing a suit and a helmet covering his real face, it wasn't hard. "So I have a surprise for you…"
The teams are gestured to one of the labs, a big open warehouse that contained a smaller version of the Project Silent Sparrow portal, which did draw some funny looks from the team.
"Now we know you guys didn't have the best history with this but rewatching the movie and finding articles on dimensional travel, trust us we're well-stocked, we managed to make a prototype in the amount of time you guys were at the Cogregation. I made sure that it's tested before we send you guys back so you have nothing to worry about."
"Are you sure," asks Gogo, being the most skeptical about this working. "How do we know it's not gonna blow up in our faces or anything?"
"Because the author's taking way too long to end the story and we need to send you home so he can rest."
A moment of silence follows as BH6 is once again a little weirded out by the fourth wall break. The silence breaks when Hiro coughs and speaks.
"So I'll admit, you guys are the most…well, complex creatures we've met, but you all showed real skill back there." He compliments the Toonforce, who each vowed at the compliment. They could say the same about them, to be honest. "So this portal will work, right?"
"Even if it doesn't we'll hit it with a wrench until it does."
"Wait, I need to call Acryl! So he knows we're coming!" She dials Acryl's number as the portal warms up. "Yes, it's me. We're about to come back so listen, I need you to use those orbs and throw them. They'll make a portal, but do it on my mark, okay?" She nods to the team as the former Bossbot is brought back, restored to its default appearance, and deflated. They neatly folded the bot to make it easier to carry, as Wasabi demonstrates by carefully grabbing him.
"Alright everyone, hop on," says Hiro. Everyone does so as Baymax propels himself into the air. He tilts forward and starts to gain momentum as he races towards the portal.
"Now," says Honey Lemon as the team enters the Inbetween.
"Do you think we'll ever see them in person again," asks Blanketon to her team to which GamerByrd answers…
"Maybe if the writer decides to do a sequel or something."
BH6 Universe
Acryl did as Honey Lemon said, the orbs creating a portal right in front of him. Part of him is fascinated but he's focused on making sure they all get here. He peeks at the portal, hearing a rocket noise from it. He gets the sign and quickly scoots backward as Big Hero 6 shoots out of the portal. They quickly land on the ground as Honey runs over to Acryl and hugs him.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" She's VERY grateful for him coming to their aid and making sure the portal's ready for them. And the act of her thanking him left him blushing, making some of the others smirk. His blush disappears as soon as the hug is parted.
"No problem," he says. "So what happened on the other side? Did you find whatever you were working for?"
"Well…there's weird things on the other side that I think I'll tell you about later, okay?" Honey's not as weirded out by the cartoon world as half of the team but she felt that explaining it would be a little difficult. She'll tell him more later on.
"Oh okay." He starts to take his leave as he doesn't think he'll be needed for anything else. "So I guess I'll see you all tomorrow?"
"Sure," says Hiro. "Thanks for everything!" They both wave to each other as Acryl takes his bike and takes his leave. The team themselves then flew back to the SFIT campus to store the body. Hopefully, them getting it back online won't be as difficult as LAST time.
AU: So today's the day that this fanfic finally gets finished. Wanted to end on a quick, but strong note as I kinda hit a snag. But overall, I enjoyed doing this fic and bringing in one of my favorite games to my ever-growing connection of universes.
What's next? I'm not sure…but for those who have known me for long, I may be finally working on something that's a long time coming.
Well, as always, leave a review! Never hurts to help!
