Logan and Elena sit in the stands of a monster truck show. They watch a monster crush a row of trucks as it drives on top of them and the people cheer.
"All right. Let's hear a big cheer for the lady of monster trucks, Charlie Ray! And now, ladies and gentlemen, the main attraction of the evening let's give it up for the world's strongest teenager Fred "The Blob" Dukes!" The announcer introduced Fred.
Fred took off his cape and grabbed the chains attached to two trucks, on each side of him.
"All right, Fred. Let's show them what you got."
The monster trucks drove off in each direction, but soon they were unable to move any further. Fred pulls the trucks together and crashes into each other's fenders as Fred jumps and stands on the fenders, he takes a bow. However, he soon slips and falls; the crowd laughs at this, and it, in turn, makes Fred feel very embarrassed, and he channels that into anger. Then he runs away from the arena.
Logan and Elena left their seats to go find Fred. They went to the building where the performers would get ready. Logan and Elena walked down a hallway until they eventually found Fred's dressing room, but that wasn't all they found. As Fred closed the door, they saw Mystique in disguise and knew that she had already gotten to him.
A few days later at Bayville High, the young mutants and Elena disguised as Thea sat down at the same table in the cafeteria for lunch.
"Is that humongous guy the one you and Logan like went to see Saturday night?" Kitty asked Thea when she saw Fred coming into the cafeteria.
"Yes, unfortunately, we didn't get to him," She replied.
"I met him earlier. He's okay when he isn't ripping lockers off the wall," Jean said.
"He's the one who like did that. Freaky," Kitty commented.
They watch as Fred pushes a kid, getting his food from the lunch lady, away before getting his tray filled with what seemed to be one of everything before walking away.
"So, I have to do a scene from Henry V with Rogue for Drama class," Scott told the group.
"You and the Rogue?" Kurt questioned, "Now that is a strange combination, Ja?"
"Yeah. I got to play a romantic scene with a girl who thinks we tried to kill her. Man, she's gonna have to be some kind of actress."
"My friend you've got to invite me to rehearsals," Kurt joked before laughing just as Fred was walking past him. Fred stopped, looking angry at Kurt, and Scott joined in laughing with Kurt. Fred continued walking to his table. He sits down, flips the table, and sends the food flying into Duncan, Keith, Mal, and their other friends.
"Bad move, Blob," Duncan said before he and his friends walked over to Fred.
"Stay here, Kitty. This could get messy," Jean told her.
"Yeah, cuz, like that hasn't already happened," Kitty said.
As Fred tries to get up and slips as he does, people begin to laugh at him. Fred's face becomes red with anger and he yells, "Don't laugh at me!"
Everyone stops laughing at him. Fred grabs his food and throws it at Duncan, causing him to fall. Duncan's friends retaliate and soon a food fight breaks out, and some students run out of the cafeteria.
Kurt and Scott duck for cover. Thea and Jean telepathically create a shield preventing the food from hitting her, but some ricochets off Jean's shield and hitting Kitty.
"Excuse me. I'm skipping dessert," Kitty said before phasing through the floor.
"Fred. Fred, please calm down," Jean said as she walked toward Fred as he kept throwing food in a blind rage all over the room.
"Fred stop," Jean then steps on a slice of cake and slides over to Fred. He almost slams a table into her. Scott blasts the table to nothing and Fred seems to have slightly clammed down, "Put the Table down, Fred."
Fred looks down and sees Jean with Scott beside her," Jean?"
"You heard her, big man, but if you want to fight try me," Scott told Fred.
"Back off, Scott. I'll handle this. Everything's fine. Isn't it, Fred," Jean said, trying to calm him down.
"They shouldn't have laughed at me," Fred said, slightly agitated.
"No, no, they shouldn't," Jean agreed. She noticed that Scott had a hand on his glasses," Uh, Scott, don't you have to get to class or something?"
"I'll be close if you need me. Real close," He told her.
"I'll be fine."
Thea walks up to them and tugs on Scott's arm, "Come on Scott, Jean had this."
They walk out of the cafeteria and into the school hallway. Scott looks through the glass doorway before someone captures his and Thea's attention.
"Wow, y'all really look out for each other, don't ya?" Rogue asked.
"Yeah, yeah we do that," Scott replied.
"We're like a family," Thea added.
Principal Darkholme slams close the locker door that Rogue was behind, "What's going on here?"
"Nothing, um," Rogue tried to answer.
"We were just talking, Principal Darkholme," Scott replied, coming to the rescue.
"Then you had best stop talking and get to class," She told them," Have I made myself clear?"
"Yes, ma'am," Rogue replied before walking away.
"Hey, don't forget. In the park after school and bring the playbook with you," Scott reminded Rogue before he and Thea walked back to the doors to wait for Jean.
Scott saw Jean walking towards them and opened the door for her.
"Hey, Jean," Fred called out to her.
Jean turns around just as she reached Scott and Thea, "Yes?"
"Nothing."
Jean waves goodbye at Fred before leaving the room with Scott and Thea to return to their classes.
When school was over, Kurt and Kitty drove home with Scott in his car while Thea walked around the corner of the school and stopped before using her telepathy to make sure no one was around. When the coast is clear, Thea transforms back into Elena, and a short while later, Logan arrives on his motorcycle.
Logan takes off his helmet and asks," Need a lift?"
"Sure," Elena replies.
Logan hands Elena her helmet, and she puts it on as she sits behind on his motorcycle. He puts his back on before taking off and riding back to the Institute. A short while later at the Institute, Logan, Elena, and Xavier are watching Kitty and Kurt train with a game of keep-away with a football. Kurt chases Kitty as she phases through the trees before teleporting.
"That's right, Half-pint. Keep the ball away from the Elf," Logan said, "Gotta concentrate or-"
Kurt reappeared behind Kitty, who looked behind herself and didn't notice the tree in front of her and crashed into it. Kurt teleported in front of her and caught the ball, "It's mine now, Kitty."
"Give me that," Kitty demanded as she got up from the ground and ran toward him. Kurt teleported away and reappeared on a thin branch.
"Watch where your porting," Logan told Kurt. The branch soon gave away causing Kurt to fall and before he hit the ground, Kitty jumped and phased through him as she got the ball. Logan facepalm as he asks," What kind of move is that?"
"Innovation and adaptation. It's what they're here to learn," Xavier told him.
"Yeah, a little improvisation always helps," Elena added.
Suddenly, Xavier and Elena's faces contort in pain as they hear Jean's voice. Her voice was in a panic as she told them she had been kidnapped, but she doesn't know where she is.
Xavier told her to remain calm and that we'll find her before telling Logan, "It's Jean. She's been kidnapped."
"You, Elf. Get Cyclops," Logan told Kurt, "I got a ride."
"I'm coming with you. I don't need to remind you the last time you went off by yourself," Elena told him.
They ran into the institute and changed into their X-men uniforms before heading down to the garage. They hop on Logan's motorcycle before riding over to Bayville High. When they arrived at the school, Elena and Logan lifted the visors of their helmets to get Jean's scent before following it. They followed the scent to an abandoned building. Logan went inside, while Elena stayed outside to wait for the others. A short while later, Scott arrived and approached Elena.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"Logan's already in there getting his butt kicked by Fred. Scott, I want you to go give Logan some backup. I'm gonna go find Jean," Elena explained to him.
"Got it."
The two rushed into the building and saw Fred laying atop Logan, crushing him.
Scott fires a warning shot above Fred and says, "We're just giving her a way out. Through you if necessary."
Scott blasts Fred, but he is not moving from the blast. Fred stands up and picks Logan off the ground before throwing him at Scott, knocking him out. Elena quickly teleported to the room where Jean was being kept.
"Jean, are you alright?" She asked.
"I'm fine."
The door opens, and Jean uses her telekinesis to throw a filing cabinet into Fred's face, making him angry. Elena takes this opportunity and makes herself invisible to Fred. He moves the filing cabinet away from his face holds onto it.
"Nobody respects me and you're the worst. You pretended to be my friend," Fred yelled at Jean before throwing the filing cabinet back at her. Jean uses her telekinesis to stop the cabinet before placing it back where it was originally.
Fred leaves the room and picks up a large piece of machinery. He stands in front of the door and is preparing to crush Jean with it. Just as Elena was about to intervene, Fred was shot in the back with a blast, causing him to drop the machinery behind him. Fred pushes the machinery to the person who blasted him, but the person moved out of the way. Revealing that the blast wasn't from Scott but Rogue.
"Leave her alone you yahoo,' Rogue told him.
"Whatcha gonna do to me?" Fred asked, "Make me wear bad makeup?"
Rogue smirked before she began approaching him, "Didn't Mystique tell you what my power is?"
"No, cause I don't care!" Fred tries to punch Rogue, but she dodges and removes her glove before touching his arm.
"My power is your power and I can take more than one!"
Rogue uses the power she had absorbed to throw Fred into the air before blasting him and he lands in a pile of junk.
Fred got up, angrier than ever, and told Rogue, "I got too much power for you! You can't hurt me, I'm the Blob!"
"No, you're just garbage that wanted a date. Now, tell you what, I'm taking you out."
Fred jumps at Rogue and she blasts him out of the building and into a junkyard. Elena freed Jean from the chair she was tied to as Kitty and Kurt arrived. A short while later, Logan and Scott regained consciousness.
"Scott, don't open your eyes," Elena told him.
Rogue approaches with Scott's visor and places it on him, "There you go. I only took a short-term dose of your power. You should be back normal soon."
Scott shakes his head and looks at Rogue, "You are like an angel, Kate."
"My name's not Kate and I'm no angel."
"But you helped us. Why?" Jean asked.
Rogue becomes upset, "I don't know. I just don't know," She then runs away.
"Hey, wait," Jean tries to follow her, but Logan grabs her hand and stops her.
"Easy, Red. Let her go," He told her.
"But she-"
"She ain't ready. Trust me on this."
"Just give her time, Jean," Elena told her.
"Okay, so, maybe, she's part of the dark, icky side, but I figure we, like, totally owe her now," Kitty said.
"Yeah, yeah we do," Scott agreed, "Big-time."
