At first it caught her off guard.

"So, can I take your order, guys?" Penny smiled warmly, waiting at their table.

Raj, Howard and Leonard gave theirs and Sheldon looked up from his lemonade to give her that hot smirk of his. "Do you know me to take anything but the usual from you, Kitten?"

Her eyes widened, realizing he's flirting openly in front of their friends, who were gaping at him.

Noticing her shock, he raised an eyebrow, his eyes never leaving hers.

"Um, nope. I-I'll be back in a flash with your food." And so she flew to the kitchen quickly, only hearing Howard say 'Oh my god, teach me'. She snickered and forced her heartbeat to slow down. This was probably the worst idea she'd ever given him. Good for himself, of course.

She shook her head. She had to get back to work.

The second time it happened, she nearly lost her mind.

"Anyone up for a game of Age of Conan?" Howard held up his laptop with a grin.

"Oh bring it on." Leonard jumped from his dinner to fetch his own.

Penny rolled her eyes as Raj smiled and brought out his bag.

"Only if Penny will join us." Sheldon casually stated. Penny raised a brow, slowly getting used to the new change.

"You've played Conan without me before."

"Yes, before I vowed to be your knight and fight alongside you to my death. I am a loyal knight, Queen Penelope." He looked at her and she saw Sheldor, not Sheldon. She saw bravery, confidence and loyalty. She gulped and she was sure she was blushing when a smirk started to form on his face.

"I know Conan was just a coping mechanism for you. But let me have my own way of expression. Something I'm not supposed to have" He put his elbows on the table and leaned towards her on the other side. The other three stopped in their tracks to watch them.

"I don't want the princess. I want the queen." He muttered with a low voice that cut through the silence of the room. Raj choked on his beer.

After a while, she was getting hooked on him-even more than before.

"Raj, cover me!" Leonard yelled as he clicked buttons aggressively on the controller.

"I can't! Cover yourself dude, I'm busy fighting off an army right now!" Raj yelled back as jumped up and down in his seat.

Penny was very horny that night-so blame it on the libido, because she was staring at her fellow teammate's hands. Sheldon was sitting to her left in his spot, barking orders. His hands were gripping the controller so firmly. His long and slender fingers didn't make a move unless they served true purpose. He knew what buttons to push and when. She mindlessly played the game, but wasn't really paying attention. She imagined those hands on her breasts, working her body down. She imagined him stroking her. Knowing him, he probably knew everything about the 'female anatomy'. He would know exactly what to do and where to touch, judging by how he was working with that damn controller.

"... Penny, get your head out of the gutter!" His voice was annoyed and amused at the same time.

She snapped into reality, feeling embarrassed and ashamed. "Um, wha?"

"Stop oggling me, Penny! Move right! We're losing to them!" He urged, pressing buttons on the thing more violently-which didn't help her case at all.

She got her attention back fully to the game, following his instructions, but her mind was still replaying her awkward moment of getting caught. He couldn't possibly know, right? She felt her face burn up with shame. She noticed Howard glancing at them every now and then, and Raj and Leonard hiding smiles.

Great. They all knew.

How did this happen? It was just a few days ago that Sheldon was the one embarrassed. Now, she was blushing like a damn high school-er.

"...Honestly, Penny." Her attention was brought back to his voice. "While I suppose I am flattered by your weird fascination with my hands, please keep it to yourself at least until we officially finish Halo night." Her heart skipped a beat and she swallowed her dry mouth. Her breath quickened and she knew he noticed. Because his lips formed a sly smirk and she wanted to hit him and kiss him at the same time. He hummed thoughtfully. "You know, if you can play a bit more enthusiastically, maybe we would be able to finish early and I could assist you with your problem." His voice dropped as he moved closer to her, never breaking his focus from the game, and he gently grazed his teeth on her earlobe, drawing a gasp from her and she felt her limbs weaken. From the other side Raj gave a stunned 'Holy Shiva' and Penny mutually agreed.

Sheldon drew back, clearing his throat. "Are you ready to win, Penny?" Back with the arrogant ass.

Finally finding her voice, she took a deep breath, gripping her own controller. "Hell yeah." And grinned.

They won.

Penny excused himself before Sheldon could offer to help her with her 'problem'. She knew she wouldn't be able to refuse.

She had stopped counting.

Finally being able to pay her cable (she snorted at the rhyme), Penny was watching a football game on her television. As ironic as it was, it was Nebraska against Texas. She sipped her beer and swore loudly.

Knock, knock, knock. "Penny"

Knock, knock, knock. "Penny"

Knock, knock, knock. "Penny"

She waited until he was done to open the door.

"Hey Sheldon!" She grinned.

He nodded in acknowledgement. "Hello, Penny. You don't seem to be in distress. I thought I heard you cuss."

She smiled, embarrassed. "Oh. I'm just watching the Texas, Nebraska game."

He raised his eyebrow. "Texas, Nebraska? Interesting."

"Want to watch with me?" She grinned.

"I usually have no interest in football. But I was forced to watch with my family when I was a child, since my father was a coach and my brother also played in a team." He entered her apartment as she closed the door. " But it's the company that counts, Agreed?"

"Yeah." She smiled warmly. "Want a beer?" She teased, plopping down next to him. He glared at her and she gave a very un-ladylike snort.

The game went rather peacefully, with Sheldon pointing out the flaws of the players' techniques and Penny yelling at the TV and cursing, ignoring his comments about her attempts to guide the players being ineffective.

After the game was finished, she sighed and relaxed on the couch, deciding to tease him a little bit, since he kept calling her Kitten and queen-not that she minded though. "Looks like you won, fair and square Tex." She smirked smugly hearing his intake of breath at the name.

She was shocked at the hand that grabbed her chin and turned her to look at him. His eyes were sparkling with amusement and he had a surprised look on his face.

"Penny, this is pure torture." He said calmly, actually sounding like himself. "Is this just a silly game to you?" He didn't seem angry or dark with lust or some other bullcrap. He seemed excited. His eyes were dancing and she loved it.

She loved bickering with him.

Fighting over childish stuff.

Acting childish with each other.

She loved the chaos that went on when they interacted.

She loved that they were opposites and yet the fit together so perfectly.

"Sheldon.."

Her hesitant tone made him withdraw from her and take a serious and more business-like look.

She looked at him with uncertainty. "You've shown so many sides of yourself to me and I'm proud that I was trustable enough for that."

"At first, you were stoic and emotionless. Had a purely scientific perspective, but weren't cold with others."

"Then you were childish with unresolved traumas and family issues. You loved your Mommy and Meemaw. You liked spaghetti with cut up hot dogs in it and Soft Kitty. I dare say you were vulnerable like a little baby." She laughed and he scoffed at her.

"Then Amy came along and another side found his way to the surface. Deeper feelings than affection you carry for your friends. Love and heartbreak. And you took them so seriously." She shook her head.

"And now. You're showing this amazing side of playfulness. You can tease and flirt. And you're so damn good at it." She stressed every word in her last sentence. It drew a small breathy laugh out of him.

She looked at him again. "I can't tell anymore. Which one is the real Sheldon?"

The question apparently caught him off-guard. "Which one?" He echoed.

"Yes, which side? I try to think of you and all I see is a couple of different people who look and sound the same." She said, a little frustrated.

"There are no sides, Penny." He picked his words hesitantly. She was glad to see his usual self. The logical and calculating one, sometimes arrogant and cocky. "These things you mentioned aren't sides or different people. They're traits and emotions. Can't I be all of those? Different layers of the same person?" He shrugged like it was obvious.

All of those. Penny softly smiled.

"Hey, Tex?"

He leaned closer. "Honestly Penny, look at yourself. Are you hitting on me?" He teased.

"Actually, yes, I am. I have been for a very long time." His eyes widened and his smug grin dropped. "I didn't tell you because I thought we wouldn't be good for each other." She confessed with a shrug. "But I just realized that we make such a nice pair. I love our arguments and the witty atmosphere that goes on when we talk. I'm happy when I see you. And- oh, who am I kidding? You're so goddamn hard to resist." She threw her arms up. He just watched in his frozen state. "I want to kiss your stupid face every time you get that smug look on it. And I can't concentrate in Halo, because you're right. I have a sick interest in those flawless hands and stare at them until someone points it out. I wanted to take up on your offer of 'assisting me'. But I was too scared of where it would go!" She finally stopped yelling and put her head on the back of the couch.

"Ah, the offer still stands, if you're interested." He cleared his throat.

She looked at him with wide eyes. "How about we wait until after the first date?" A smile formed on her lips.

"Acceptable. But I can't wait until then for osculation." He sat closer to her.

She frowned, ignoring the fact that she was turned on by science talk. "Um, what?"

"A kiss, Penny." He said impatiently.

She giggled. "Alrighty. Come and get it."

"I suggest you initiate this." He shook his head, rubbing his arm.

"What happened to dominant hot Sheldon?" She pouted playfully.

"I insist you do not refer to me as different people. And does higher dominance mean higher physical appeal?" He said, annoyed.

"You know what? you're right. There are no sides. I can see them all in you right now." She smiled.

"Penny, please get this over with. I do not like waiting." He mumbled.

"Then come get it, Tex." Her eyes sparkled in challenge. and this time, he grabbed her shoulders and 'shyly' crashed their lips together.
