Life at Auradon Prep
Filler chapter(Squid Game)
AN: This is a filler chapter. It has nothing to do with the story or other chapters. Also, this chapter contains death, trauma, violence, and lots of expletives. Read with caution.
It was an early Saturday morning at Auradon Prep. Everything was calm and perfect when...
In Ruby and Lonnie's dorm room...
"Hey Lonnie," Ruby said, "are you ready to watch this new show that I bought?"
"Of course! I saw some clips and pics on Instaroyal and I can't wait to watch it!" Lonnie replied excitedly. "Although, I don't wanna spoil myself though."
Ruby beamed at Lonnie's answer as she put the DVD into the DVD player and turn on the small flat-screen TV. Then, Ruby and her friend plopped on their bean bags(Ruby on pastel purple and Lonnie on pink) in front of Ruby's bed, getting ready to watch the show as she stretched her hand and took up the remote from the coffee table and pressed the 'play' button to start the series. Excitement mixed with fear started to bubble inside the girls as they glued their eyes to the television when their ears perked up on a soft knock at the door. Ruby and Lonnie frowned.
Ruby paused the show and looked at Lonnie and asked, "Did you invite anyone, Lon?
" Lonnie raised a brow and shook her head. "No, I didn't."
Ruby hummed and shrugged and then said, "Come in." The golden doorknob turned and the door slowly opened revealing Anxelin, Shang, Aziz, Herkie, and last but not least, Tyrone crowded at the doorway.
The girls' eyes widen in surprise at the sight of the group. Did they hear about the show Squid Game too? Wow, that's what a viral hit series like Squid Game does to everybody: get them excited, hyped, and also curious.
There was silence filling the air in between the 2 groups in Ruby's room but the silence was cut short by Anxelin.
"Soooo," the goth princess said, "are we coming in or not, Sis?"
Ruby snapped out her shock and nodded. "Yeah, sure."
The 5 friends came into the room and Tyrone closed the door behind him as they found themselves where to sit. Shang and Aziz sat on the edge of Lonnie's bed, Herkie sat on the floor in front of Lonnie's bed, not too close to the boys' feet though, and Anxelin sat on the right edge of her sister's bed with Tyrone sitting beside Ruby. Anxelin then crossed her legs on the bed and rested her hands in Tyrone's extremely soft and curly hair, to which Tyrone didn't mind. Tyrone enjoyed Anxelin's hands playing with or in his hair.
Ruby checked her friends to see if they were comfortable with whatever seat they could find and, it seems as if they were cool with the seats they found. Ruby then turned her attention back to the TV and pressed play.
"You guys hear about Squid Game too?" Ruby asked, her light green eyes fixed on the TV.
"Hell yeah! It even blows up on Instaroyal!" Aziz answered.
"So why you guys didn't buy the show on DVD?" Lonnie asked.
"Because by the time we were about to buy the DVD version, it was already sold out and it would take a while to burn," Herkie answered. "Not to mention that the internet was very sluggish."
"Ah," Lonnie nodded in understanding.
"Yup. It was very popular on Instaroyal. So naturally, I was curious about this show and why people liked or loved the show," Shang said. "I heard that there's gonna be lots of betrayal and lots of death in this show."
"Also interesting characters and character development," Herkie added.
"And the grand prize of 45.6 B Won, I wonder who will win? According to what I've seen on Instaroyal, I think it was some guy named Gi-hun I believe." Tyrone finished.
"Dude!" Aziz hissed slightly, "No spoilers."
"Right," Tyrone pressed his lips in a firm line and Anxelin chuckled softly above him. Tyrone secretly found it cute when Anxelin chuckles.
Lonnie rubbed her hands together eagerly. "Is everyone ready? The show's about to start."
"Yup," the 6 friends replied in unison.
Everyone's eyes were glued to the small TV of the opening scene where the protagonist, Gi-hun, was in a lounge betting on racehorses when they were interrupted by another knock on Ruby's door. Ruby was the first to hear(although the others heard but ignore the knock) and sighed.
The younger daughter of Rapunzel and Eugene paused the show and said a little loudly, "Come in."
The door opened revealing Emilie, Nizhoni, Marlon, Nina, Jamie, Yi-min and Elle, entered the room and find any possible space to sit. Elle(the daughter of Ariel and Eric) had a little difficulty finding where to sit and Herkie, as a gentleman, he was, got up and gently scooped up Elle out of her wheelchair in his large arms and carried her over to Lonnie's bed making her sit with Aziz, Shang, and Jamilah. Elle thanked Herkie as he closed Elle's wheelchair and place it beside Lonnie's bed where Elle was. After that, he went back to his spot on the floor. Shang blushed deeply when Jamie sat between him and Aziz. Aziz saw this and a smug grin appeared on his face but didn't say anything.
Yi-min found herself sitting between Lonnie's legs as she rested her head back against her friend's chest and Lonnie placed her chin on Yi-min's head, her hands loosely around Yi-min's stomach.
"Are you comfortable, Yi-min?" Lonnie asked looking down at her friend.
Yi-min nodded against Lonnie's chest. "Yep."
Once everybody was settled in Lonnie and Ruby's dorm, Ruby looked around at her friends and asked, "Is everyone good now?"
Everybody except Ruby responded, "Yeah. "
In total, there were 14 people in Lonnie and Ruby's dorm room, and Ruby kind of found it hard to believe but she was thankful that their dorm was large to hold that number of people.
Before she continued the Squid Game show, Ruby asked or rather guessed, "Lemme guess, the show sold out and internet issues right?"
Emilie answered, "Yeah, pretty much."
"And you guys didn't invite anyone else, right?"
"Right." Nizhoni replied.
Ruby nodded and pressed 'play' to resume the show and everybody focused their full attention on the show.
After 6 or more hours of watching and reacting to the series...
Silence plunged into the air in the room as everyone looked at each other after watching the popular series, Squid Game, thinking, 'What did I just watch?' The teens were completely shocked, words stuck in their throats as nobody can't even come up with a proper sentence or comment about the drama, but one thing all of them had in common in their minds was: The show was good.
After a long silence, Anxelin was the first one who spoke.
"What. In. The. Actual. Fuck. Did I just watch?" Anxelin asked slowly as she turned to look at everybody in the room.
"You took the words right out of my mouth," Marlon responded and folded his arms.
"I dunno, but one thing I can say is Sangwoo was an asshole," Shang said.
Nizhoni nodded at Shang's sentence, wiping a literal tear from the corner of her eye. "I agree, I can't believe he treated the best boy of the whole show, Ali Abdul, dirty!" The other girls mumbled in agreement with her.
"Yeah, but don't forget about the gang leader who betrayed the crazy girl in that tug of war episode," Elle pointed, using her pointer finger to adjust her glasses on her nose.
"Don't remind me, but she even dissed him in that glass hopscotch episode where she told him that his 'member' was small when they had bathroom sex in the 4th episode! Sure, player 212 was annoying but I enjoyed her!" Yi-min said, lifting her head from Lonnie's chest.
Emilie piped in. "Yeah, me too. But that pastor or priest guy was giving me some weird Claude Frollo vibes. The part that pains me the most was when Ji-yeong told Sae-byeok that she and her sister I believe was abused by a pastor and the pastor killed the girl and asked for forgiveness. I mean, that's just messed up. And to top it all off, Ji-yeong told Sae-byeok that she was honored to be her partner right before she was shot in the head. I genuinely cried at that scene."
All of the girls nodded in unison with Emilie's explanation. Episode 6 was the worst episode of the whole show.
After listening to Emilie's explanation, Aziz leaned back against Lonnie's pillow with his index finger and thumb under his chin in thought.
"Y'know," Aziz began, "if you think about it, it's fucked up when they used all our childhood games, except for 2, and turned it into a life or death game."
"That's why they say 'no child's play', dude." Shang pointed out and ruffled Aziz's messy hair behind Jamilah's back.
It was interesting to see the teens having a conversation about the popular Korean drama series(AN: let's just say that the land of Auradon knows other countries) with each other.
While they were discussing the drama series with each other, Jackson, the son of Tarzan and Jane barged into the room without knocking.
Oh-oh, here comes trouble.
Ruby subconsciously turned her head and looked up to see Jackson. She groaned.
"Hello? Didn't you knock, Jackson?" She asked, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
Jackson ignored her and went over to Shang, who in return saw him and let out a slightly exasperated sigh.
"What do you want, Jackson?" Shang asked, trying his best to remain calm as he leaned back against his younger sister's pillow and folded his arms across his chest.
"Did you watch Squid Game?" The dreadlock boy asked.
Jackson and Shang were frenemies ever since Shang beat him in a hand wrestle when they were in middle school. Since then, Jackson had been demanding and troubling Shang just because he cannot accept defeat. At this point, Shang can't bother and just go along with it. He even taunted Jackson to just get him off his back.
Shang looked between Aziz and Jamilah before he gazed at Jackson.
"Yeah, why do you ask?"
"Because I wanna know what's going in the show," Jackson replied, stating the obvious.
Shang doesn't like where Jackson was going with this but he steeled himself for what was about to come.
Shang adjusted himself on the bed and straightened his back against the pillow. "Dude, I'm not telling you how the show went. The internet is here, go watch the show."
"Aw come on, man!" Jackson exclaimed, his fists clenched at his sides, "You can't even tell me a little part of the show?"
"No, Jackson. I'm sure that the internet is back up now for you to watch the series." Shang was getting annoyed now, considering that he was short-tempered when people bother him too much.
But somehow, the son of Mulan and Shang remained calm.
"Dude, I wouldn't have come to you if my internet wasn't so shitty!" Jackson spat, "Now, at least tell me how the first episode went."
'Oh, my Auradon' Shang thought with a sigh. He had no idea what to do with him.
Nizhoni scooted closer to Emilie and tapped on her shoulder, causing her to spin her head to look at her best friend. Nizhoni covered her hand over Emilie's ear and whispered, "I have a feeling that Jackson just came in here to mess with Shang."
Emilie nodded in agreement. "Yep. I'm pretty sure that he's pestering Li'l."
Elle noticed that Shang was irritated at the sight of Jackson bothering him, so she decided to jump in and said, "You know Jackson, the internet is back on now. I texted Kimberley* and she said that the connection is working fine."
Jackson averted his aqua blue eyes and shot Elle a glare. "No one asked you, nerd."
'Ooohs' was heard in the room and Jackson ignored them. Elle was taken aback as she slumped her shoulders when Jackson sneered at her. He then focused his attention on Lonnie's brother.
"Now tell me show went," Jackson demanded. Shang was about to answer when he looked over Jackson's shoulder and saw Michael(The eldest son of Milo and Kida) come into Ruby's room, glaring at him without Jackson knowing.
Michael, my savior! Shang thought to himself. Now, this was Shang's chance to taunt Jackson.
Shang flickered his dark brown eyes back to Jackson, smirking, and said, "Yo, Michael! Come get your boyfriend!"
Before Jackson could react, he yelped in pain as Michael pulled him by his dreadlocks, dragging him out of the room.
The girls laugh while the guys, Even Marlon, snickered at the sight of Jackson(with his facial expression had a mixture of embarrassment and pain) being dragged away by his best friend.
Once the boys left Ruby and Lonnie's dorm, Michael popped his head at the doorway.
"Sorry Shang," the cream-haired boy apologized.
Shang waved. "It's cool man. Just keep him away from me."
Michael nodded and left.
The room fell silent once more as the kids, especially Shang, processed what happened until Aziz spoke.
"Man, Jackson sure loves to trouble you," Aziz told Shang and he nodded.
"The more I see Jackson come and trouble you, the more I realized that he secretly likes you, Shang," Emilie said, noticing the number of times she saw Jackson constantly nagging Shang.
But Shang shudders at the thought of someone like Jackson, who hates him for just beating him in a hand wrestle when they were younger. Yet, Emilie wasn't wrong though. Jackson must have some feelings towards the Asian boy.
Shang chuckled. "Of course. What can I say? I'm irresistible and everyone likes me. So I wouldn't blame him."
There were light chuckles throughout the room, except Marlon, who just snorted and Jamilah blushed deeply.
It was nice to see the kids like this, happy and enjoying themselves. Unfortunately, but this was the last time to see the kids like this.
"Alright," Lonnie said, gently pushing Yi-min off her so that she can get up. Yi-min then took Lonnie's seat.
"I'm going to the kitchen to make some dalgona."
"Dalgona?" Tyrone was confused.
"The sugar cookies in the 3rd episode," Nina explained to her twin brother and he understood.
"Why do you want to make sugar cookies, Lon?" Ruby asked, "After that episode where if you can't take out the shape perfectly, you'll be shot." She joked lightly.
Oh yeah, the kids were talking about Squid Game, when Jackson ruin the conversation. Thanks, Jackson.
When Ruby asked that question, Lonnie was already at the door.
"I wanna try the cookies," Lonnie replied with a shrug and was about to leave but stopped.
Ruby frowned(and so did the others) when she saw her friend paused at the doorway. She asked, "Why did you stop, Lonnie?"
Lonnie didn't answer but instead raised her hand, telling Ruby to be quiet.
The long-haired girl was slightly taken aback by her friend's weird actions, but she, as well as the others, were surprised when Lonnie said this, "Listen closely."
The other kids followed Lonnie's order and listened closely. When they did that, their eyes widened.
They heard a voice of a little girl singing in a foreign language, they guessed Korean from somewhere outside. Repeatedly singing over and over again the same song.
Little girl, singing, Korean?
It did not take long for the teens to realize beforehand that the voice belong to the robot girl in the first episode when the players participated in 'red light, green light', and most of them were murdered if they moved.
"Oh my god," Anxelin whispered, her brown eyes slowly scanned everyone in the room stared at each other with the same expression marked on their faces: fear. Chills ran down Anxelin's spine.
Jamilah looked down at her clothes and gasped. She noticed that she wasn't wearing her casual outfit, but the teal-colored tracksuit like the ones that the players wore in the show. Heck, there's even a number on the right side of her jacket! Number 121.
"G-Guys, "Jamie stammered, fear was evident in her voice. "Look at your clothes. I think they have changed."
Without any hesitation, the other kids looked down at their clothes, all of them wore the same tracksuits as the ones in the Kdrama series, but different numbers on them.
"Shit," Emilie cursed.
"Shit indeed," Marlon agreed with her.
"Holy fuck, we're dead now," Aziz started to panic but Shang calmed him down.
"Dude, just calm down, I'm sure nothing is not going to happen," Shang assured Aziz, but his facial expressions say the opposite of what he said.
While the other teens were in a state of panic, finding out that they were participating in the life or death game, Lonnie, still at the door slowly averted her dark eyes to look at her new outfit and lift the top part of her jacket and saw the white and bold numbers on her jacket: number 070.
She gulped. Oh my god, this is happening. We're in freakin' Squid Game!
She wanted to scream and move but it seems as if her feet were nailed to the ground due to fear and her voice got taken away from Ursula.
To make sure she wasn't dreaming or in some hallucination, Nina blinked a couple of times and got the same answer. It was real.
Earlier, the teens were watching Squid Game for entertainment, but now, they were living in the reality of the show. It's just that it was unexpected.
Squid Game has now become a reality to these youngsters and most of them are not going to survive at whatever game they were going to play.
The voice of the little girl singing stopped and was replaced by creepy, eccentric but scary music playing from god knows where, as the door opened, revealing a red guard with a circle on his mask. Also, he's holding a huge gun with live bullets, aiming at one of the kids.
All 14 kids froze at their spots. A gun?! Guns were foreign to the Auradonians. The only time they would see a gun, was in movies or TV shows, but even then, the sight of guns terrifies them.
That means some of the teens are going to get killed if they don't obey.
Lonnie held her breath and stood still, even though her legs were slightly trembling. She could have sworn that she nearly peed herself.
Suddenly, the youngsters listened to a voice that they assumed to be an intercom.
'Listen, participants, today's first game is Simon Says,' The woman announced.
'Oh no!' Nizhoni thought to herself in horror.
'Every group must do as Simon says, that is the guard, or else if any group member disobeys, they will be eliminated.' She continued, 'I repeat, every group must do as Simon says, or else if any group member disobeys, they will be eliminated.'
Everyone steeled themselves for what was about to come and hope and pray that all of them make it alive.
Or not.
'You have ten minutes to complete the game,' The woman said, 'starting now.'
The red guard held his gun a bit higher and said, " Simon says, don't speak for 30 seconds."
Everyone went silent for 30 seconds. Not even a sound of a pin dropped.
Everyone except Aziz, who was the first one who spoke out of panic and anxiety.
"Holy fucking shit! Holy shit-"
And the next thing Aziz knew was a bullet passed through his head like an arrow, and his entire body went limp on Lonnie's bed. Blood splashed all over Shang, Elle, and Jamilah, who were in complete shock.
Aziz was the first of 14 in the room to be killed.
'Player 227, eliminated.' The intercom announced.
The whole room went in a silent frenzy as they saw one of their friends murdered just because he disobeyed. But at the same time, who can blame him? Aziz was shocked, scared, and anxious because he as well as everyone else, was unprepared.
Jamie wanted to scream, but she had to swallow the scream. Instead, tears trickle down her cheeks while Elle mentally screamed. The girls had their hands on their mouths to keep themselves alive.
She just witnessed her older brother being murdered.
Shang too wanted to scream and fight the guard for killing his best friend whom he had known since they were babies, but he had to remain silent, for he too doesn't want to be the next victim. He cried silently as well.
The guard checked his watch on his left hand, noticing that 30 seconds were up.
Interestingly enough, Aziz wasn't the only victim.
In the next room beside Ruby's, multiple shots were heard, mixed with high pitch shrieks and screams.
One voice cursed and that person was shot.
'Player 312, eliminated.'
Shang's eyes widened as he heard the voice closely and found out that it was no other than Jackson. The same guy who came in moments earlier just to tease was dead.
There was another voice, a female, but that voice shrieked. And just like Jackson, that person was shot.
That voice belonged to Katalina, the daughter of Kuzco.
'Player 170, eliminated.'
There was the next voice, and it didn't take long for the others to recognize that it was Audrey, the daughter of Aurora and Philip. She too didn't survive.
'Player 360, eliminated.'
Sure, Audrey can be a brat and bitch at times but she didn't deserve this.
The multiple shots and screams made the kids in Ruby's room more fearful than ever.
This next voice surprised them, especially a certain emo boy.
"Please!" The voice pleaded, it sounded like this person was weeping, "please stop doing this."
And the next thing everyone knew was that person was shot dead.
That voice belonged to Ben.
'Player 363, eliminated.'
Marlon's teal eyes nearly pulp out of their sockets. Yeah, Ben made a mistake for betraying his friend when he needed him the most when they were younger, but Marlon, never in his 16 years of life in Auradon wished anything bad to happen to him. Now, it feels as if Marlon was shot too as he secretly curled his hand into a fist and hot tears streamed down his cheeks, ruining his eyeliner in the process.
"Now," The red guard began, "Simon says cover your mouth with your left hand and don't move for a minute."
The kids wasted no time and did what the guard told them to.
Lonnie, who was standing in front of the guard realized beforehand that her legs became tired after standing so long. Not to mention that Lonnie was a very emotional girl as she couldn't stand any longer because of the shock and trauma which caused her to roll back her eyes and faint.
Everyone, especially Shang and Ruby, stared at Lonnie, who was unconscious in horror.
Shang silently prayed that his baby sister doesn't get shot by the guard, for he doesn't want his sister to get killed.
But it was too late as the guard looked down at the unconscious girl on the floor, aim the gun at her and shoot her in her chest. Lonnie was killed in an instant.
'Player 070, eliminated.'
Shang's heart dropped as he saw his baby sister, whom he loved dearly was murdered right in front of his eyes and he can't even help her. He then closed his eyes and let the tears continue to trickle down his chiseled cheeks while his hand covered his mouth.
His best friend, now his younger sister. How many people who Shang cares about will be killed?
This will haunt Shang for the rest of his life.
The red guard's ears perked up on a whimpering sound. He looked up and scanned the room to look for the person who made that sound.
Then, the guard's eyes (behind his black mask) landed on Ruby, who moved her hand from her mouth. Her face was wet with tears, and a very few specks of Aziz's dry blood.
The red guard pointed his gun at the long-haired girl, who in return fixed her large, light green eyes at him, like a frightened kitten and in no time, she too was shot shortly after best friend. She died immediately on the spot.
'Player 071, eliminated.'
Anxelin flinched and face became pale as her younger sister's blood spilled onto her and Tyrone's clothes and their faces.
The goth, just like Li'l Shang and Jamilah, witnessed her sister being killed in front of her. She wanted to scream, weep and get hysterical, but she had to hold back her emotions. Anxelin doesn't want to be the next victim.
And just like the others, Anxelin cried silently, her hand still on her mouth.
When this horror will end?
The 3rd shot made poor Elle flinched due to fright and shock, fall from Lonnie's bed and onto the mahogany floor with a light thud. Her glasses fell from her face.
The guard turned his head over Elle's direction as he entered the room, stepping over Lonnie's corpse and going over to see a frightened Elle on the ground beside Lonnie's bed.
Elle stared at the red guard with tears welled up in her eyes, silently begging the guard to have mercy on her
Herkie was horrified as he watched the guard, who pointed his gun at the disabled girl. He had the burning urge to kill the guard with his bare hands after he murdered he killed 3 of his closest friends over a stupid game. But, Herkie, like the others in the room had no choice to obey or otherwise they would be killed.
Elle wasn't spared though, like Lonnie, another shot was fired as a bullet pierced through her chest, and in an instant, Elle was dead. Her hands stretched on both sides as she was lying in a pool of blood that was spreading on the floor rapidly.
Although Elle was dead, her light blue eyes remained open and her mouth agape.
'Player 115, eliminated.'
Herkie squeezed his mismatched eyes shut and clenched his right fist quickly before the guard sees him. Hot tears streamed down his cheeks harder, while his large hand covered his mouth.
Aziz, Lonnie, Ruby, and Elle don't deserve this. They don't deserve this any at all! Herkie thought to himself in pure anger and grief.
Next door, more shots were heard as well as high-pitched screams and wailings as more students at Auradon Prep were being killed for not obeying Simon, that is the guards.
It wasn't long before the first minute was up that another teen in Lonnie and Ruby's room was killed.
I'm BACK! Man, lack of inspiration, motivation and procrastination killed me. So it took me a long while to write.
Oh, Kimberley is the twin sister of Kelsey, the daughters of Kida and Milo, Michael's younger sisters.
Also, don't kill me. Let me know which kid in Ruby and Lonnie's dorm was killed in the reviews.
