you'll see that I'm so crazy about you
Elves and Fae - Sirius gets hurt whilst flying and his friends take him to town to rest. Technically there is another bed, but the three of them are comfy sharing this one...
They've been on the road for months now, and Sirius has grown to love his companions. Peter is like a little brother, which is funny because they're the same age. But it's the other two that he's really grown to love. As in, he thinks about them and smiles. He wants to hold their hands. He doesn't want to have his own room in the inns anymore. Peter can have his own room. He wants a very large bed with James and Remus.
He's not sure what else. He's had a very sheltered upbringing, something he wasn't aware of until he struck off on his own, his indigo wings damaged by his family as he ran away. It was these three travellers that found him, starving, unable to fly into the air to find the nearest town, wandering a forest. Terrified.
They cared for him, they've been healing him. They must love him, he hopes. They're a family, but he loves both James and Remus more than anything.
"Do you think you can manage to fly high enough to see if we're close?" Peter asks, as they walk down the longest road ever. They're all tired. There's a crossroads and no sign.
Sirius glances back at his wings. He can hover for a moment on them, but he's not sure about flying too high just yet. But as James and Remus start to protest, he shakes his head. The trees aren't too high. He can do this.
He lifts up into the air, his wings working faster than ever in hopes that the fluttering will keep him in the air, rather than the tatters that remain, making him fall, and he manages to get up into the sky high enough to see the tavern in the distance. A small town just a mile up the road. He can only see it because of the lights, because everything in his vision seems to be going dark. It's creeping in from the edge, and for a moment he thinks it's happening to the town. But then he realises that it's himself. His own eyes are betraying him.
But his wings aren't ready for flying, and he fights to stay in the air, but to no avail. He drops to the ground, and the others rush over. He feels the familiar healing of Peter, and the other two at his side, lifting him up.
His legs shake and Sirius realises the effort that went into his action. He feels his arms being pulled over both James' and Remus' shoulders. He's glad that Remus isn't much taller than him. James is around the same height. It makes it comfortable like this.
"Guys, which way?" Peter asks. It's dark and he's a human and it's hard for him to see in the dark. Sirius tries to gesture with his left hand, but he can barely move it.
"This way," Remus says, gesturing to the left pathway. It's a very narrow trail, but Sirius has determined it's a short-cut through the trees. He's glad that they have James and Remus with them. As elves, the pair can see in the dark and can keep them safe.
Sirius fades in and out of consciousness as they go., and the last thing he sees is the lights of the town.
Sirius wakes up on a large bed. Peter is nowhere in sight, but James and Remus are sitting on either side of him, talking.
They both smile as he wakes.
"What's going on?"
"We… Neither of us wanted to leave you alone," Remus admits, his cheeks reddening. "We were discussing taking turns to watch over you, but… but were a little reluctant to leave the other for the first watch. So we've just been sitting here for the last hour."
"Oh." Sirius moves, an ache in his back. "I don't think I should fly for a while."
James chuckles. "I don't think you should," he agrees.
"Peter has his own room?" Sirius asks.
"Yeah. He said something about elf bonding. It was a little lewd, and then he winked and went into one of the other rooms. We… we do have another room, but two will have to share this room tonight. We didn't want to seek out another inn in town when you needed to rest immediately. So… who would you rather stay with you? Or would you rather take the other room to yourself?"
It's obvious that this is what they were discussing when he was unconscious, and Sirius really can't choose. "Elf bonding time?" he asks. "Does that include me?"
"Well, not much is known of the feywild, but we believe that the fairies there are also elves. Didn't you know?" Remus checks.
Sirius shakes his head. "All that mother and father told me was that I was better than elves. I'm glad we're the same." He lets out a yawn. "I could do with a sleep though." His eyes move between both James and Remus and he knows he can't pick. But he doesn't want to be alone. Maybe this is his only chance?
He reaches out, his hand covering each of theirs.
"Will you both stay?" he asks quietly. "I hate being alone, and… I want to be with the both of you."
Remus nods without even having to think about it, but James doesn't move.
"You want us?" James asks. "What does that mean? That you want us to keep you company here, or that you desire both of us? Or… more?"
Sirius is tired, but he can't help but smirk.
"Both?" James checks, his eyes moving to Remus. Sirius can see the way his eyes roam over Remus., before they return to him, hungrily.
James wants them both too.
"It must be this world," Sirius murmurs. "In the feywild, it's known for our kind to have two or even three lovers. But… but I only want you two."
"Oh," Remus whispers. "I mean. We should… we should respect customs that are different than our own."
"Yeah. We should be respectful. It'd be… insensitive to expect Sirius to pick one of us, rather than… rather than have us both."
It only takes a moment, but they both climb into the bed, pulling the ocre sheets around them and getting comfortable. Sirius wraps his arms around Remus, and James holds Sirius. Softly at first, but them with more confidence, his body moulding carefully to the back of Sirius, mindful of his wings. His lips brush the back of Sirius' neck and Sirius leans in and brushes his lips gently against Remus', and he feels content. Peaceful even, because this moment is everything to him.
"Yes, this is what I want," he tells them.
"Anything else?" Remus asks, nervously.
Sirius shakes his head. "Not tonight. I… don't know where to go from here. But I am happy to learn. But… I'm not sharing either of you. Just so you know. Except with each other. I can share Remus with you, James, but only you. That's what love is. And the things I do for love."
James laughs softly. "That's fine. I've never wanted anyone else. Just Remus. And then… then you fell into our lives, and I wanted you just as much. I'm glad that I don't have to pick. It'll be the three of us. If… if you both want that."
Remus beams between the both of them. "I want that, so much," he whispers, and that's final in Sirius' eyes. They've all agreed and all consented to this relationship which means he's completely theirs. He knows he'd do anything for James and Remus already, but knowing they want him back...
Sirius holds Remus even tighter. He knows Remus has low self-esteem because of his lycanthropy, and that hearing that both of them want to be with him is probably overwhelming. He's just happy he can now show his love to the two other elves. He lets the darkness take over once more, feeling safe in between his two loves.
