Chapter 7

Ok, time to bring this back from the dead. Btw, I realize that I've spelled Dooku wrong so…yeah.

Having just captured Anakin and Hiccup, Dooku has made his way to his personal chambers on the Separatist ship, kneeling before a holographic communication device.

Standing on the device was a hologram of a man wearing a black robe with his eyes covered by the hood of the robe. Dooku says to this man, "You were right, Master. Haddock is the Jedi that my assassin told me about."

The man nods. "I see. I do intend to learn as much as I can about this boy. I presume you have him and Skywalker in custody?"

Dooku nods. "Yes, I will bring them back to my base to see what I can find out."

The man replies, "Gooooood."

Dooku adds, "If I may, I did get a reading of the boy's force energy and, I have to say, standing side by side I couldn't tell the difference between his and Skywalker's."

The man puts a hand to his chin. "Interesting. Perhaps what your assassin said about the levitating lightsaber wasn't that farfetched. Still, even if he has the potential, it's nothing without proper training."

Dooku nods, "If we can sway the boy to the Dark Side, then he could prove to be a very worthy adversary."

The man replies, "Couldn't have said it better. I expect to see the boy in custody on your base very soon, or else. Also, I presume they both went into Shadow's Temple?"

Dooku nods. "Yes, and inside they managed to find…this." He holds up the cylindrical device.

The man nods. "Gooood. With that device in our hands, the Jedi won't know what hit them. Make sure neither of them get them." The hologram fades and Dooku stands before walking out of the room.

Meanwhile, Hiccup and Anakin, who had just escaped from Dooku's custody thanks to Artoo, were rushing down the halls of the ship in search of both their lightsabers and the device they found at Shadow's temple.

They get to a corner of the long hall where Hiccup whispers, "Now, if I was two lightsabers and a cylindrical device, where would I be hiding."

Anakin replies, "Probably somewhere that's not easy for us to find." He then gets on his communicator. "Artoo, get into the security cameras, we need to find where our stuff is."

Artoo beeps a bit and moves to a nearby port where he inserts his rotating hacking device. After searching through, he beeps a response where Anakin replies, "Perfect, thank you." before taking a left and running in that direction.

Hiccup asks, "That droid of yours sure is something. Kinda wish I had a droid of my own."

Anakin replies, "We'll talk about that when we're not trying to be stealthy."

They run for another minute, dodging the sight of battle droids and super battle droids along the way, when Anakin stops in the middle of a hall. Hiccup asks, "What are we doing here?"

Anakin replies, "Artoo tells me there's a shortcut to our lightsabers through there." he points to an air duct that was right above them before adding, "We just need someone thin enough to go through." He looks over at Hiccup's pencil thin complexion.

Hiccup looks up and down at himself before sighing. "Fine, I'll volunteer." Anakin puts his hands down to give Hiccup a boost as he goes up and opens the latch before pulling himself up into the vents.

Anakin then taps at his communicator and says, "Here's the coordinates Artoo sent me."

Hiccup nods. "Got them, now where are you going off to?"

Anakin replies, "I suspect that the device is in Dooku's hands as we speak."

Hiccup nods. "So what's your plan on getting that back?"

Anakin shrugs. "I don't know, I'll just figure it out as I go." before running off.

Hiccup sighs. "Not the plan I was hoping for but ok." he crawls his way through the hot air ducts, following the map that Artoo sketched out, before getting over a room which appeared to be the ship's main deck where he could see the lightsabers sitting on the captain's chair.

Hiccup closes his eyes and senses around to see that there were a few droids there, but nothing or no one else. He sighs saying, "Well, if this could trick Ventress."

He reaches his hands out and concentrates, using The Force to lift his and Anakin's lightsabers up before twitching his thumbs to make the respective purple and blue blades activate. One of the droids spots this and says, "Hey!" before being slashed down by Hiccup's blade.

The other droids begin to fire at the sabers, but the shots were all perfectly deflected by Hiccup and the blades as he moves them across. Once all of the 8 droids were taken down, Hiccup deactivates the sabers and makes them float up to him where he grabs them and clicks them to his belt.

Hiccup presses a button on his communicator, sending a beep to Anakin's.

Anakin spots this beep and knows this means that Hiccup got the sabers, meanwhile he was still figuring out how to get the device back. He whispers into the communicator saying, "Head to the hanger, I'll meet you there." This was responded by two more beeps.

Anakin travels further down the halls, evading the mechanical eyes of droids as he goes, until he eventually hears Dooku's voice coming from a nearby room. "Now, what exactly do you do? Are you a weapon? A communication device? A key to something? What is it?"

He presumed that Dooku was speaking to the cylindrical device. He has a look around and spots a few battle droids standing nearby, so he uses The Force to get into them and make them start shooting at each other, but missing.

One droid asks, "Hey! Why are you shooting me?"

The other asks, "Why are YOU shooting ME?"

A few other droids pop up with one saying, "Stop shooting each other, we need to stay on guard!"

Dooku hears this and sighs, "Blasted droids." He steps out of the room and goes over to them and says, "Will you quit this insolence?"

This was Anakin's cue to dash into the room, grab the device and head out before Dooku even noticed he was there. Anakin rushes through even more rooms until he comes across the ship's hanger, where a bunch of blue fighter droids were stationed.

Something else that was sitting there was a brown ship with a round glass windshield and four points sticking out of the front.

Anakin spots Hiccup on the other side and Hiccup holds up Anakin's lightsaber, he nods and gets on his communicator, but that was before an alarm was sound.

Anakin comments, "Blast, guess Dooku found out I stole his new toy." he holds up the device.

Hiccup rushes to the other side of the hanger, gives Anakin his saber and asks, "Ok, now what?"

Anakin thinks for a moment before getting on his communicator again. "Artoo, I'm gonna need a distraction." Artoo beeps angrily. "I know, I know, I scuffed things up a bit, just do what I said!" Artoo turns his head all the way around two times before connecting to the Twilight's port and getting the ship started.

Back at the command center, one of the droids that replaced the ones that Hiccup destroyed says, "Uh, an unidentified ship was just found leaving the emergency dock port. Should we shoot it?"

Dooku smacks that droid's head. "Yes, shoot it! It's probably Skywalker and the boy getting away! Lock the hanger too so they can't get in either!" The ship begins firing at the Twilight with Artoo on it.

With that out of the way, Anakin says, "Ok, let's go." They begin running into the main part of the hanger.

Hiccup points out, "We need a ship! What about those blue fighter things?"

Anakin replies, "Those are Vulture Droids and they aren't designed to hold people! Fortunately, there is a way out of here!"

Hiccup looks ahead to the brown ship and gets the idea. The two of them board the ship and Anakin sits in the captain's seat as Hiccup asks, "You know how to fly this thing?"

Anakin smirks. "You ask that like this is the first time I've hijacked a ship." He turns it on and begins working the controls to make it leave the hanger, escaping the hanger just before the lock doors close.

Hiccup looks around at the ship and asks, "Say, what ship is this, anyway? Some kind of droid ship?"

Anakin presses a few buttons and replies, "Nah, just Dooku's ship."

Hiccup nods and smiles. "Oh, perfect…WHAT?!" He says with a look of total shock.

Anakin tells Artoo, "You have my signal?" Artoo beeps in confirmation. "Alright, follow me." With that, Anakin flips a lever and they head back into hyperspace, followed by Artoo.

Back in the ship, the droids say to Dooku, "Uh, sir, the unidentified ship got away, but so did…your ship."

Dooku grips his hands tight as he Force Chokes the droid and throws it to the wall out of anger.

After traveling through hyperspace for a few minutes, Hiccup says to Anakin, "Ok, stop this ship!" Anakin pushes the lever, pulling them back into deep space.

Anakin asks, "What's up?"

Hiccup replies, "Can we just think about what we're doing for two seconds? I mean, we just STOLE Dooku's ship!"

Anakin nods. "Yeah, I noticed that, and I did think about it for exactly two seconds, plus at least we're away from them and we got back what we needed. What's your point?"

Hiccup replies, "Ok, what is the actual plan now? And it better not be 'I'll figure it out as I go along!'" giving air quotes with that last part.

Anakin chuckles a bit, "Hiccup, my friend that…is a good question."

They both sit in silence for a full minute before Hiccup suggests, "…We should tell Obi-Wan about this."

Anakin gives Hiccup a side glance and replies, "Ha! Good one. While we're at it, I should get a tattoo of Jar Jar Binks on my butt."

Hiccup asks, "Who is Jar Jar?"

Anakin blinks, remembering that Hiccup is still new to the galaxy. "In this case, the less you know, the better."

Hiccup sighs, "I know you think I'm crazy, but clearly this is the sort of thing you and Obi-Wan have been through many times before, if there's anyone who can help us now, it's him." Anakin looks out into the void of space as he sighs, knowing that Hiccup was right.

Back on Courscant, Obi-Wan, Mace and Yoda were just sitting around, discussing a few things when Obi-Wan points out, "You know, you have to admit. It is quieter around here without Anakin."

Mace nods. "I agree."

Yoda adds, "a break from Skywalker, It's good to have."

Obi-Wan nods, "At least for now we can enjoy this silence." Just then, his communicator starts ringing. "Oh, and speak of the devil." He presses the answer button, "Yes, Anakin?"

Anakin replies, "Hey, Master, good to hear from you!"

Hiccup adds, "Master! We're glad we caught you."

Obi-Wan adds, "Hello, Hiccup. Let me guess, you two are calling me because you ran into some trouble."

Anakin adds, "You could say that."

Obi-Wan replies, "Alright, give me the Twilight's signal so I can figure out a plan to pick you up."

Anakin rubs the back of his head, "Uh, yeah, that's the thing, actually. We're not exactly in the Twilight."

Obi-Wan raises a brow. "Really? Then where are you?"

Anakin looks to Hiccup and asks, "You wanna tell him or…?"

Hiccup replies, "Yeah, so it's kind of a funny story, really, well funny if you were actually there."

Obi-Wan leans in his seat and says, "Hiccup, what is going on?"

Hiccup sighs. "We…sort of, kind of…stole Count Dooku's ship."

Obi-Wan pauses for two seconds before asking, "WHAT?!"

Hiccup replies, "I'd say he took that quite well."

Obi-Wan adds, "OF ALL THE INSUBORIDNATE, NOT TO MENTION IDIOTIC THINGS…"

Anakin puts his hand over the speaker and replies, "Really? Cause that's about what I expected." he then says, "Look, we can explain everything later, right now we just need some help."

Obi-Wan sighs as he rubs his forehead. "I-I don't even know where to start with this."

Yoda then points out, "an advantage over the Separatists, This could give us. valuable information, Dooku's ship could hold."

Obi-Wan sighs. "I was afraid you'd say that. Alright, did you two idiots at least deactivate the ship's transmitter so Dooku can't instantly find you?"

Anakin scoffs. "Uh, of course." Hiccup gets under his seat and brings out a few wires. Anakin whispers, "Red wire. No wait, green!"

Hiccup asks, "Well, which is it? Red or green?"

Obi-Wan adds in, "It's the red AND green wires."

Hiccup disconnects both wires and says, "Yep, of course we knew that, we just, uh, wanted to test you."

Obi-Wan sighs. "Alright, now that that's settled, what is the nearest planet to you?"

Anakin presses a few buttons and replies, "Uh…it looks like Dagurmier."

Obi-Wan nods, head still in his hand. "Alright, I believe Captain Rex's squad is just finishing up a mission near there. I can contact him and have him pick you up."

Anakin nods. "Great, thanks. Oh, one last thing, you're gonna make sure to tell Rex to not shoot at us when you see whose ship it is?"

Obi-Wan lifts his head up so his nose is resting on his hand and he looks up in thought. "Leeeet me get back to you on that."

Anakin nods before turning the communicator off. "Ok, great, now that that's settled."

Just then, Artoo and the Twilight pop out of hyperspace. Anakin speaks to him saying, "Artoo, don't know if you were listening but we're heading to Dagurmier, got it?"

Artoo beeps a bit before Hiccups sighs. "Let's just hope that the worst part of this day is over."

Anakin presses a few buttons, loading up the hyperdrive for the ship, saying, "Believe me, if it's me then there's bound to be something else." before they shoot off back into hyperspace with Artoo right next to them.

Back on Courscant, Obi-Wan lets out a big sigh. "All I ask for is an apprentice that listens to me. Is that really so hard?"

Mace replies, "Told you that Padawans are influential. Just look at Padawan Tano."

Obi-Wan sighs, "Yes, but at least Ahsoka listens to Anakin for the most part." before standing and walking out of the room.
