Well, it's official. I've been officially vaccinated. So I've been waiting for a while until I am sure that these vaccinations are safe and effective. After months of waiting, I decided to go to one of the vaccine stations and get my shot. Now I choose Pfyzner since not only is the most effective against any and all variants, but the vaccine station was close to my house. I took the first shot in early May and the second shot in late May. And yes, the second shot could be a bit of a dozy. I mean the day after the second shot, I have a fever of a hundred, I was tired, had pain on my sides, my nose was stuffy and it was hard to breathe when I'm sleeping, and felt a little weak. But the following day, all of that went away and I felt fine. So now I am fully vaccinated and won't have to worry about Covid and can do some of the stuff I missed doing for over a year.

Now I know they said that we have to remove our masks two weeks after we get vaccinated. But, I prefer to keep my mask on for a bit longer for many reasons. For one, even if I admit I am vaccinated, I don't know if anyone else is vaccinated and this no mask after two week vaccination policy will give people a good enough excuse to lie that they've been vaccinated and remove masks just so they won't get the shots to begin with. Not to mention this new Delta variant that's starting to spread across the states. Secondly, while me and my sisters were vaccinated, my mom and dad don't have the time. The reason is because that they are a bit busy with my dad being the Director of the funeral home and my mom having so many problems in her life and health. So even if I'm no longer at risk in dieing to the virus, my parents are as they are in the elderly stage and if I bring the virus to them, it would be chaotic. Thankfully, my mom will wrap up on some tests she needs to take and when she's done, maybe she'll get the vaccine in the near future. But dad… I don't know if he's close to ready for a vaccine shot giving his work schedule. But hey, we shall see in the near future. For now, I'm glad that I'm fully vaccinated and hope to get back to normal.

Checking on the last chapter, I can tell people are getting into it. Currently, I have one review and over 170 hits. So I have an audience that wanted to see more of this story. Now I know most of the chapter are pretty much fillers to build Phos as a character, but it will get interesting on the next chapter. Trust me. The next episode is going to be really good. But until then, let us focus on the second and final part of this episode. Yes. This is going to be a two-chapter episode. Not much to work with when you solely focus on Phos's underwater ability. But I'll make it up on the next episode.

On this second part of Deep Six on Teen Titans, Phosphophyllite Chronicles, BB, Aqualad, and Phos must search for Trident and stop him from whatever he is planning with all the toxic waste. That is of course the boys must learn to trust each other, much to the gem's dismay. Will they all get along and stop the rouge Atlantian before it's too late? Let's check and see how they will manage.

Episode 9: Deep Six (Part 2)

In the deep parts of the sea, the place was desolate until two creatures came down in between them. Those two are Aqualad and Beast Boy, as the changeling was in his octopus form. They both swam down to the coral split as they both stopped and the Atlantian pointed to where he was.

Aqualad: "I searched that region yesterday. We'll start over-"

But before he could tell the Green teen on what to do, Beast Boy interrupted him and told him that he knows what he's doing.

Beast Boy: "Look, I'm sure you're some kind of local hero, but I'm a real hero from the big city. So just let me call the shots… And try to keep up."

He soon turned into a dolphin and swam around, trying to pick something up on his sonar. As he was searching, someone else came to them and was on the same shark from before. Turned out, it was Phos as they used their alloy and from a collar with a leash on one arm and used their heels to create a platform around the shark's body. They even had Trident's weapon strapped to their back as a means of even the odds once they encountered the tyrant again. Swimming next to the Atantian, he turned to the gem and asked how they're holding up.

Aqualad: "How are you doing so far?"

Phos get their footing on the shark and told him they got it.

Phos: "A little shaky, but getting the hang of it. Sorry about my friend. He tends to get a little annoyed when it comes to competition."

The Atlantian chuckled and told them it was nothing.

Aqualad: "It's cool. I always have others back in Atlantis that tends to compete with me. Let's just say that they have some bruised egos in the end."

Phos heard that and laughed a little, wanting to skip the subject.

Phos: "Yeah… That's one way to explain it. So… You're from Atlantis, huh? I've done some research on that city, but I never thought it was all real."

Aqualad heard that and couldn't help but to chuckle.

Aqualad: "Oh… It's real all right. As real as possible. Surely you heard of Aquaman, right?"

Phos blinked and remembered that name.

Phos: "Yeah… He's a member of the Justice League. I never thought he was an Atlantian too."

The young teen just shrugged it off told her of this.

Aqualad: "Well… Where do you think he came from? The Sahara desert. He was born and raised there and lead him to be the king of the city. Quite an accomplishment if I do say so myself."

Phos: "And, you wish to be taking his role as king too?"

The Atlantian heard that and shook his hands with complete nervousness.

Aqualad: "What?! No! Of course not! I never want to be the ruler next to him. Sure I have part of his name, but I would never want to follow in his footsteps. I just want to be the hero protecting Atlantis from bad guys like Trident."

Phos turned to him and assured him that there could be a chance.

Phos: "I don't know… It looks like you would qualify to lead the way."

The Atlantian heard that and blushed a little. As they were getting a little interment, Beast Boy notice the two and swam to them, telling them to focus.

Beast Boy: "Hey! What's going on with you two? We have to find Trident! Not getting all lovey dovey."

The two turned to the dolphin and the gem told him that they were just talking.

Phos: "Whoa! Easy there, Beast Boy. We were just having a little conversation is all. Something for my encyclopedia."

BB crossed his tiny fin arms and was a little annoyed.

Beast Boy: "Well, save all your encyclopedia studies for another time. Right now, we need to stop a criminal. Speaking of which…"

He started to use his sonar to pick up any movement. Swimming around the two for a moment, he stopped forward and found something.

Beast Boy: "I'm picking something up on my sonar. Come on!"

He soon swam away, getting to what he picked up while both Aqualad and Phos starred on in concern.

Aqualad: "You sure your friend is okay."

Phos shrugs and told him he's all right.

Phos: "Oh, I'm sure he's fine… He's a little…antsy."

The two soon followed him as Phos was driving the shark to where the changeling was going. As they were hading to what Beast Boy found, a flock of other dolphins appeared and surrounded the green one. The two stop to see the sight and couldn't help but to snicker inwardly.

Aqualad: "Congratulations! You found other dolphins."

BB felt embarrassed and tries to cover his embarrassment.

Beast Boy: "Oh… Uh… I knew that."

The gem soon looked to the three dolphins and decided to speak with them.

Phos: "Still, this would give us a chance to know where our guy is at."

They soon use the shark to swim towards the group and used use their speaking ability to get some information.

Phos: "Hey there, guys? By any chance, have you seen a scaly creepy humanoid monster that is carrying a lot of highly dangerous toxic waste?"

The group gave a few clicks to give them an answer. Hearing that, they turned to the two and told them what they found.

Phos: "They say they encountered a creature carrying one of the barrels opposite of where they swam. I got the feeling that our target is on the move."

The Atlantian heard that and swam to group and use his telepathy to confirm it. Getting the same answer, he told the two that Phos is right.

Aqualad: "You are right on that one, Phos. They told me where to find Trident as well. We better hurry if we are to stop him. Try to keep up."

He soon swam ahead and was already on the move. The changeling looks to him and decided to catch up his way.

Beast Boy: "Oh, I'll do better than that."

He soon started to follow him and the two started to go on a race. Phos watch them racing and tries to stop them.

Phos: "Hey! Wait for me!"

They look down to the shark and told it to go after them.

Phos: "Follow them! I don't want to loose those two!"

The shark heard them and swam after the two, trying to play catch up. They could see the two racing together as one was playing one ups with the other. But they were too far away and they were having a hard time in getting to them.

Phos: "Damn it! They're beyond our reach! C'mon buddy, try and keep up with the pace."

The shark responded with grunts and growls and answered the best it can. The gem heard it and groaned in annoyance, not noticing something coming towards them in quick speed.

Phos: "Well, I'm sorry my body is a bit heavy to move around. Maybe if you push a little harder, we might be able to catch up to them in no…"

But then, their eyes peered to the right and saw something making a B line towards them. Taking a closer look, they could tell that it was Trident that's heading towards them, with a fork weapon pointing right to them. Seeing that, they realized they were going to break them in half.

Phos: "Oh crap!"

Lifting their free arm up, they formed a golden shield and the spear started hit the shield and pushed the gem off the shark. The two flew down to the bottom of the ocean between the steep ocean cliffs and crashed into the ground. The moment the two impacted, Phos used the shield and extend into a sphere to protect their entire body from the impact. Trident, who still has the weapon on the sphere, was immediately bounced back and flew to the wall, having his back impacted from the hit. Once the sphere melted, Phos got their arms to normal and recovered from the attack.

Phos: "Phew… That was close… For a moment there, I would've shattered from that surprise attack."

Just then, an explosion came out of the Cliffside as Trident came down and was eager for a fight.

Trident: "Defend all you like, inferior being. You cannot defeat, perfection. You cannot defeat, Trident!"

The gem quickly formed a sword from one arm while grabbing the same weapon Trident used on the ship with the other arm. Getting into a stance, they heard the same song and dance before.

Phos: "Yeah, yeah… I heard that before…"

Trident soon pointed his weapon to them and fired an electric bolt at them. Phos quickly used on their heels to melt and bend to the side to avoid the projectile and did a corkscrew in the air before landing back down to the ground. Getting into a good enough distance, they used Trident's last weapon and fired some bolts on their own, hoping to hit him. He soon lifted himself off the ground and swim around to avoid each shot. The gem though wouldn't give up as they continued to shoot with all that they had.

Phos: "C'mon, c'mon… Quit squirming! Hold still so I could shoot you!"

Trident was getting closer to the gem and was going to use his fork like weapon to go for the chest. Knowing they had little time, they lift their golden sword to the middle and blocked that weapon with two of the points in between their blade. The two held on, trying to out strength each other and pushing their blades back and forth. Finally, Phos found a way to get the blade off of him and a bit of alloy came off the blade and extended downward to wrap it up on the bottom hinge. With that, the pulled the weapon down and took Trident for a ride. Feeling exposed, Trident look up and saw the four-pointed spear pointing at his face. Charging it up, the gem fired it at his face and he and his weapon were sent flying right through the trench and disappeared completely. Seeing him gone, they relaxed and glad that was over.

Phos: "That's over with. Man, that guy was a complete prick. Though, it does beg the question, why did he go after me while Beast Boy and Aqualad picked up his location. Doesn't make any sense. Oh well, guess we'll never know, since I beat him that easily. Better find them and let them know what happened. I hope that shark isn't far. I hate to walk throughout the ocean floor for hours. The resin I have on my body won't last that long. Hate to have my body looking hideous without the powder."

They soon started to walk away, looking for a way to get back to the two. But as they were walking, a dark shadow started to swim past them. The gem immediately made a stop and felt something not right. Just then, another dark shadow swam the opposite direction and Phos turned only to see nothing. Then another shadow popped by. And another, and another, and another. Looking around, they knew what they said was too soon.

Phos: "Something tells me that my victory was well short lived."

They soon got both weapons armed and ready, wondering if whatever's around is going to strike. They soon got their answer as Trident came in and headed straight to the gem from the back. Phos peered their eyes to the back and saw him coming. With a quick turn, they used the spear they obtained to hit his spear and the two collide, causing them to separate in between. Bending their body to their proper position, they lifted their leg and the heel turned into a sledgehammer and hit him to the side, pushing him away from them and flying through the darkness. Planting their foot down, they wondered if they got him. But as the gem thought of it, Trident came back for another go, this time to the side and has his weapon in position to whack them in the head. Phos saw it coming and blocked his attack with their sword. The two pushed back a little before Trident came again to strike to their legs. Phos quickly used their spear and block the second attack. The two clashed as Trident swung his weapon while Phos used two of theirs. The rouge Atlantian twists his weapon around before going for the gem's neck. They crossed the two weapons together and managed to stop him from beheading them. However, the force of the attack pushed them down and they lay on their back while he was on top of them. But that gave Phos an advantage as they maneuvered their leg and placed it on his chest. Using the move Robin taught them, they rolled their back and launched Trident on the other side, with the heel twisting into a spring to propel him further away from them. The moment they vanished into the darkness, Phos jumped back up and was on high alert for another attack. As luck would have it, Trident showed up in another part of the darkened cliffs and immediately used his weapon to fire blasts to them. They soon turned their sword into a dome shield and deflected the blasts from him. Once he was done firing, he readied his weapon to go for the kill. But Phos was ready as they melted their heels and launched themselves off the ground to avoid the hit. With a high enough range, they used Trident's own weapon against him and fired projectiles of their own. Trident swam upwards and avoided the projectiles with ease before reaching the gem. But they have one more trick up their sleeve as they covered their weapon with the shield and charged their shot. Once they are ready, they removed their shield and fired a powerful beam that pushed the creature right back down to the depths of the sea. Once he was gone, Phos remained deterred and was getting tired of him popping up.

Phos: "Sweet Adamant, this guy never gives up, does he? Always popping up whenever I think I defeated him. How does he do that?"

But moment they asked that, Trident swam behind them and armed his weapon to fire his own powerful shot.

Trident: "A true perfectionist never reveals his secrets."

Phos turned around to see him ready to fire back. They were about to defend themselves from the attack, when out of the blue, the shark they were riding on came out of nowhere and tackled him, clamping its jaw to keep him trap. The two soon dive down into the dark chasms as the gem looked on and find that unexpected.

Phos: "Whoa! That was unexpected."

After a few seconds, the shark returned and Phos was relieved it came to their rescue.

Phos: "Thanks for the save. I thought I was a goner down there. What took you so long?"

The shark grunted and growled a little and answer them. Hearing that, they get what it was saying.

Phos: "I see… You couldn't find me in the darkness and when I popped up is where you found me. Sorry about that. It's hard to fight in the dark when you have Trident around you. Just tell me you were still following Aqualad and Beast Boy while I was busy."

The shark grunted and explained to them what they encountered before finding them. What they heard shocked them the most.

Phos: "What? You are saying that they were both fighting Trident in different directions?"

The shark nodded as the gem was trying to contemplate what they heard.

Phos: "But… But that's impossible! I was fighting Trident down there! How are they fighting him at the same time I was? None of this doesn't add up. Can you take me to where they were fighting?"

The shark gave it some thought and nodded for an answer.

Phos: "Great! Now come on. Let's regroup with them and try to figure out what's going on around here."

They grabbed the fin and stepped on the shark with the heels melting and acting as a platform wrapped around its body.

Phos: "Let's go!"

The two swam towards the direction where Beast Boy and Aqualad were at. As they were swimming, Trident came up from the darkness of the steep cliffs. Swimming after them, he pointed his weapon to them and fired a beam at them. The shark soon swam away from the beam and it barely missed the two. Phos nearly felt the beams heat and looked back to see the Atlantian pursuing them.

Phos: "Seriously?! That shark bit him off and he's still swimming?! How could he survive that?!"

Getting their four-pointed spear ready, they aimed it and were ready to fire back.

Phos: "All right, you overgrown tuna, let's see if you survive this!"

They soon fired their weapon as the beam went straight to the creature. Trident could see it coming and maneuvered around to avoid the blast. He soon fired back and this time used multiple shots. The shark moved around avoiding each shot as Phos was hanging on for dear life. Thankfully, they were more ready for something like that and used the platform from their heels and the leash to keep themselves stable. But they need to retaliate as the gem quickly used their weapon and fired multiple beams as well. The two kept firing on each other while avoiding each other's moves, but it wasn't going to be enough as they were both even. Phos held on and was getting annoyed at the situation.

Phos: "Damn it! This freak isn't giving up. There's got to be another way we can loose him."

The shark heard that and look down to the cliffs again to see something that could work. It grunted to them as the gem listened in.

Phos: "Huh? What you said?"

Before they could get a response, the shark immediately dived down and took the gem for a ride. Trident saw them dived back down to cliffs and wasn't amused.

Trident: "Escaping from Trident? Escaping from perfection? You're only delaying the inevitable!"

He soon dived down and went after the two of them. The two were already in the steep hill cliffs and was swimming through the tight spots. Looking around, they knew that this was a bad idea.

Phos: "Wait! What are we doing down here? This is a tight spot! Why are we even down here when they have enough room to maneuver? We're going to get shot if we don't leave?"

By the time they said that, shots were raining down all over them. Looking up, they could see Trident swimming down firing his spear like weapon. The shark swam faster and was trying to get away from the bombardment. Still, it won't matter as Trident was trying to dismantle the gem and was now following them and firing his weapon. Phos soon got the platform heels ready and lifted the barrier to deflect all the shots. But with the tight space between the ocean cliffs, it would be difficult to maneuver around. But then, the projectiles hit the wall and caused bits of debris to come down. Trident soon swam to the side and avoided the debris before going back to firing. Phos noticed it and found out how to dispose of him.

Phos: "Hmm… That would work."

Looking up to the cliffs ahead, they decided to stop Trident once and for all. Pointing their spear weapon up ahead, they told the shark on moving fast.

Phos: "Hey! I hope you can swim fast. Cause I might do something very dangerous!"

They soon charged the pointed end and fired a powerful blast at one side of the cliff. They soon moved the weapon to the other end while still firing. Once they were done firing, the cliffs on both ends broke apart, sending boulders and rocks down to them. The shark saw it and had to put itself to the test. So it pushed on ahead while Phos held on for dear life, hoping they won't shatter from the cave in they made.

Phos: "C'mon, c'mon, c'mon… Make it… I don't want to be buried in my own mess, and in pieces."

The debris was getting closer to them and the two had to hurry before they are flattened. The shark pushed to the limit and they both swam towards the falling debris. Quickly, the two managed to swim under the falling rocks and went past it. Trident saw that and had to swim faster then them. He bolted hoping he could make it. But it was too late as the debris rain down on him and he was in the middle of it. He tried to maneuver around to avoid the falling rocks, however, there were too many of them for him to get out of. Almost immediately, he was buried in the rocks and boulders and couldn't escape it. At the same time, Phos and the shark escaped easily and the gem looked back to see the work the two done.

Phos: "HA! We did it! We actually got out of there unscathed."

Just then, they have a thought and asked the shark about it.

Phos: "So… The idea of trapping Trident and bury him was your idea, huh?"

The shark looked back and grunted as a yes. Phos gave a sigh and reminded it of something.

Phos: "Next time, give me a little warning when putting plans like that. I am a fragile little gem you know."

The two soon swam to where Aqualad and Beast Boy were at, not knowing that another shadow was watching from afar and swimming away.

A few minutes later, the shark guided the gem to the spot the two boys were at. Looking around, they could see that there was a fight, but no sign of them.

Phos: "Hmm… There appears to be a struggle. But they seem to have split up and fought with Trident. Still doesn't make any sense. Did Trident fight the two at the same time or something? I don't get it."

Looking around again, they could tell that no one was around.

Phos: "Judging by the fight, Aqualad and Beast Boy must've survived the attacks. So they couldn't have gone far."

Checking the area out, they noticed a cave deep on the side of the rock bed.

Phos: "Huh. Looks like there's a cave on the cliff side. Maybe the two have gone there. Let's check it out."

The shark agreed with them and swam towards the cave. Entering, they looked around and wondered where they have gone. Passing by, the gem could see a fight that went down. There appears to be volcanic potholes that erupt and spew out underwater fire and bubbles. Seeing that, they knew that they were getting close.

Phos: "We're certainly in the right place. Now we need to find the two and figure things out."

The shark looked up and noticed some sort of light above them, so it talked to the gem in grunts and growls. Phos heard it and looked up to see a pond right above them. Seeing that, they smiled and knew where to go next.

Phos: "Good observation, bud. Let's head up there."

So the shark swam up as Phos held on to the platform they made with their own heels and arm. Once they reached the water's surface, the two were in another cave that looks darker. Jumping off the shark, they turned to it and asked it to stay put.

Phos: "Wait here. I'll go on ahead and find those two."

The shark nodded and submerged downwards, waiting for the gem to return. Once it was gone, Phos walked away and started to search through the cave to find them. Walking down the long cavern, they looked through the many mazes and wondered where to start.

Phos: "Let's see… Where have those two gone? Just hope those two aren't tearing each other apart while I was preoccupied. Where do I even begin?"

As they were wondering which cave to head on in, they could hear the voices of those two complaining about what happened to them.

Aqualad and Beast Boy: "I just saw Trident! No you didn't! Yes, I did! CUT IT OUT!"

Hearing their voices, Phos turned to the direction of the yelling and could see a cave that has some form of light popping out of there. Seeing that, they knew where the two went.

Phos: "Huh… Well that narrows down my search. And just in time too. It sounds like those two are going to beat each other up."

The gem walked down the nearly lit cavern to reach the two. As they were walking, Phos could hear the two continue to argue, as the voices kept getting louder.

Beast Boy: "I don't care what you saw. I fought Trident."

Aqualad: "That's impossible!"

Beast Boy: "OK, dude. What is your problem?"

Aqualad: "What is YOUR problem?! We're supposed to be on the same side, but you treat me like an enemy."

When they were getting closer, they could see the two boys complaining to each other, with Aqualad trying to push the changeling aside while Beast Boy is flailing his arms about.

Beast Boy: "I don't need you on my side. This was my mission until you showed up and ruined everything! You think you're so cool, always using your telepathy and being a complete heartthrob. Well, I've got a news flash for you. You're not better than me!"

Hearing that things are starting to escalate, Phos sighed and stepped in to prevent what was going to become a huge brawl.

Phos: "I take it things didn't went to well with both of you."

The two stopped arguing and turned to see Phos approaching them, with a worried look on their face. BB soon crossed his arms and a still a little upset.

Beast Boy: "Phos! There you are! Where were you? You weren't there when Trident was attacking me."

The Atlantian heard him and turned to him to spat it out.

Aqualad: "You?! What about me?! I was fighting off Trident as well."

BB turned to him and argued back.

Beast Boy: "Oh, please… If that's true, where's your proof. Cause I was taking him on my own."

Aqualad: "And so did I. Yet I don't see you helping me."

Phos blinked and could tell that they were confused about what happened to them. So much so, the gem has to say their two cents.

Phos: "Actually… I was facing Trident as well."

The two stop arguing and turned to them with shocked expressions.

Aqualad and Beast Boy: "WHAT?!"

That caught the gem by surprises as they explained to them what happened.

Phos: "Yeah. Trident ambushed me when you two took the lead and we fought deep in the dark chasms. Had to defend myself before the shark saved me. Even had to bury him under the rubble I create as well. Though I got the feeling that he won't go down that easily."

The two looked at each other and were silent about it. That's when BB glared to them and didn't find it amusing.

Beast Boy: "Dude… Don't joke around."

The gem was shocked that they don't believe them and try to explain.

Phos: "But… But, I wasn't joking! I'm telling the truth!"

Beast Boy: "Oh yeah! Well, if you fought Trident, and Aqualad here fought Trident, and I fought Trident, then where's the proof?"

It was then that Phos explained what the shark said to them.

Phos: "Because the shark I was riding on told me that it was the two of you fighting off Trident, at the same time. And if you don't believe me, maybe you can go talk to it."

The two looked to each other and didn't know what to say. So much so, that Aqualad gave it a thought and decided to go speak to it.

Aqualad: "Hmm… Seems like a good enough lead. I'll go ahead and speak to it to get some answers. You two wait here and-"

He walked away and was about to get to the pond Phos got out of. But Beast Boy stopped him and decided to do the job.

Beast Boy: "Oh no you don't! I'll go speak to the shark. You wait here and keep Phos company."

The Atlantian had enough and decided to talk him out of this.

Aqualad: "Seriously! What's your deal?!"

Beast Boy: "My deal?! You kidding me?! I had everything under control until you stole my spotlight! That's my deal!"

Aqualad: "Yeah? Well, I was looking into Trident for some time long before you and your team arrived. I have more experience against Trident then you. So as far as I concern, you should be following my example instead of your own ego."

Beast Boy: "My ego?! You're talking about ego? You got more of an ego then me?"

The two soon started to argue at each other and made fun of each other as Phos watched on in bewilderment. Looking to each of them, they tried to stop them but were completely ignored. With their hands on their ears, the gem was starting to get annoyed the more they argued. Finally, Phos had enough and immediately snapped at the two.

Phos: "ENOUGH!"

They soon out stretched their arms and the two were wrapped up in them, with both their bodies trapped and their mouths shut. Once they have the two up in the air, the gem decided to be the middleman and told them to stop it.

Phos: "That's it! I have had it with you two. We were suppose to stop Trident from causing some heinous acts and you two are acting like a bunch of newborn gems getting into trouble over and over again. If we are to stop him from whatever the hell he's planning, then we have to work together and…"

Pretty soon, they stop finishing what they're saying and thought about the two words they mentioned.

Phos: "Wait… Working together… That's it!"

They soon let go of the two as the boys both landed on their butts, feeling the soreness at their bottoms. Rubbing his rear, Beast Boy looked to the gem and was a little upset.

Beast Boy: "Ow… What was that for?"

Phos soon stopped him and told him to listen.

Phos: "Not now Beast Boy! I think I know what Trident's abilities really are."

The two heard them and looked to each other, wondering what the gem has discovered. So much so that Aqualad asked them what they found.

Aqualad: "Okay… Well tell us. What did you find out?"

Knowing that they want answers, the gem explained to them what they encounter back home.

Phos: "In my world, my kind face a group known as the Lunarians, who wish to harvest us for decorations. While the threat varies based on the sunspots, the archers look the same and work together in unison."

The two heard that and wondered where they were going with this.

Beast Boy: "And you're telling us this, because…"

Phos rubbed their forehead a little and told the two what they just discovered.

Phos: "Think about it. How is it possible that Trident could be at two places at once? How can he have one of these weapons when we took it out? How come when we thought we take him down, he always comeback for more, completely unscathed? Better yet, how can we were fighting Trident, at the same time? We're not dealing with one Trident. We could be dealing with-"

Before they could finish what they were saying, a droplet of orange goop came done and hit the gem's minty hair. The boys saw that and the three looked up to see where that goop came from. That's when they could see orange pods all connected together on the ceiling, all of which contains Trident in each pod. The three saw that and knew what Phos was referring to.

Aqualad: "Thousands…"

Beast Boy: "Whoa…"

Phos soon extended their heels to get a closer look at one of the pods. Looking to the pod, they could see one of the Tridents who was still sleeping, but immediately opened his eyes from getting disturbed. The gem flinched a little and knew their predictions were correct.

Phos: "Looks like I was right. It seems Trident has found a way in copying himself."

Beast Boy soon notices where the veins are connected to as Aqualad approached something that caught his attention. He noticed there are multiple barrels of toxic waste connected to orange vein like cables. The same toxic barrels they were looking for in the first place.

Beast Boy: "And I think I know how Trident is copying himself. Looks like he has been using all the toxic waste to help clone himself. And to think that we all thought he was going to destroy the environment."

Aqualad: "It gets worse."

The two heard him and turned to see him on some type of console with more toxic waste connected to it. Approaching him, they could see him checking on the console and discovered the plans Trident was planning. What they could see is that a bunch of red dots attacking what appeared to be Atlantis with a capital A on it followed by the dots spreading across the globe. Aqualad soon explained to them what they're up against.

Aqualad: "It looks like he had been planning this for weeks. Check this out. It would seem he's planning to use his clones to attack Atlantis first and spread his attack across the world. This is something beyond what we all thought from the start. One Trident is bad enough."

Of course, they didn't know that something was behind them, a lot of something, as Beast Boy finished what he was going to say.

Beast Boy: "But this is…"

Before he could actually say it, the can hear a lot of similar voices saying the same thing.

Tridents: "An Army!"

The three heard that and turned around to see a huge army of Tridents surrounding them. Looking towards the situation, they knew that they are in serious trouble.

Phos: "Yep. Trident was definitely busy."

Aqualad soon got into a stance and told the others to do the same.

Aqualad: "Right now, we need to hold them off for as long as possible. If what Trident is doing something this cruel, we can't let him send his clones to attack Atlantis, let alone the world."

BB heard him and was in total agreement.

Beast Boy: "For once dude, I can totally agree with you."

The army of Tridents soon started to charge in with their weapons armed and they were ready for a fight. The three soon split up and began their defensive maneuver. Aqualad started to jump up and was in the air. One of the Tridents saw him and pointed his weapon at him, firing a power beam. The Atlantian managed to avoid it with some somersaulting moves and kicked one Trident that was charging in. He soon jumped off him and went to the other creature, kicking him in the process. Then he back flipped and landed right behind the Trident that was firing and grabbed his weapon. He soon fired it with the creature holding it and took out a few more Tridents in the process. He soon pointed up and fired a shot up on the ceiling, firing one of the pods in the process.

At the same time, Phos jumped up and used their heels to elevate themselves into the air, spinning the staff they proclaimed, they fired at the Tridents in the air, and knock them all down. Heading down to the ground, they used one arm to create a stopper to soften the landing. Landing on one knee, they twisted the weapon and swing it around, hitting one Trident after another. They were thankful too. If Robin hadn't taught them on other forms of weaponry and how to use them, they wouldn't last against this many creatures. As they were fending against the horde, the one Trident that escaped his pod when Aqualad got it was falling right towards the gem. Phos soon noticed the shadow above them getting bigger and looked up to see the creature about to fall right on top of them. Quickly, they lifted their free arm up and created a huge umbrella as the Trident landed on top of it. He soon bounced off of it and hurtled towards a group of charging Tridents, colliding with them and causing a massive dog pile. Phos looked at that before turning to see Aqualad using the weapon that Trident currently has to fire at any nearby threats. Getting a little furious, they yelled to him to be careful.

Phos: "Hey! Watch it! These pods above us contain a whole lot of Tridents! More then what we're facing. Hit one of them and they will all awake from it! Do you really want to cause more problems then what we're currently going through?"

The Atlantian heard them and turned with an embarrassing grin, while firing a beam at another charged one.

Aqualad: "Right! Sorry! Not easy controlling it when you have to hold it with this one holding it."

He soon got his leg up and kicked the Trident down to the floor taking his spear and spins it around before impaling him on the back. He soon started to run and avoided the shots of another group he was heading to. Phos looked on and gave a sigh.

Phos: "Man… That Atlantian can sure fight. Looks like Beast Boy's not the only one with competition."

As soon as they said that, another Trident came from the side and had his arms out to strike. But before he could do that, the gem pointed their weapon right at him and fired a shot, hitting him and pushing him away from them. They soon ran off went to battle a few more Tridents that were coming in.

As the gem was holding their own, Beast Boy charged in and went into the offensive. Turning into a polar bear, he raised his claws and whacked two more Tridents in the process. He soon turned around and took down a couple of more. Pretty soon, he was completely surrounded by a group of Tridents as they all charged in to attack at the same time. The changeling immediately trashed his claws around and knocked them all down easily with one blow. Looking at the downed creatures, he was glad that was taken care of. But when he turned to one side, he saw one of the Tridents pointing his spear like weapon and fired a beam right at him. He got hit and was pushed to the console, hard. That said impact caused the console to spark as a message popped up on the screen that says, 'Hatching Sequence Beginning'. Beast Boy recovered while turning back to his human state and notice the console sparking, realizing that the situation is getting much worse then expected.

Beast Boy: "heh, heh… Whoops. Phos, get use to them coming down, cause we'll be expecting more of them in a short while."

Just as he said that, both Aqualad and Phos were pushed back and hit the back of the console, with the gem getting their hands back and forming an alloy base pillow to cushion the blow. Looking right at what's in front of them, they knew that there were too many to take down.

Aqualad: "Great… We're surrounded!"

Soon enough, the first Trident explained to them of his plan working in fruition.

Trident 1: "My brilliant plan is already a success.

And then another one picked up where the last one left.

Trident 2: "If one of me was perfect…"

And then another.

Trident 3: "Why not make more?"

And another.

Trident: "You can never have too much of a good thing."

And it kept going as one Trident speaks for another and another and another.

Trident 5: "Once my army conquers Atlantis…"

Trident 6: "I will declare war on the surface world."

Trident 7: "Everyone on the planet will bow down before me."

It was then that the army raised their fists up in the air and responded in unison.

Tridents: "And praise my perfection!"

The three heard every word the army said and was concerned about it all. Phos soon looked towards that group and gave a deep sigh.

Phos: "Sheesh… Say what you will about the Lunarians, at least they aren't full of themselves."

The Atlantian turned to the Changeling and wondered what to do now.

Aqualad: "Any bright ideas?"

Turning his head to Aqualad and back to the Tridents, he came up with a plan, one that would be a bit risky if not done correctly.

Beast Boy: "Just one. Try to keep up, both of you."

Stepping in, he asked the entire Tridents one simple question.

Beast Boy: "So, if you're all perfect, which one of you is the best?"

Again, they all said in unison…

Tridents: "I AM!"

They all immediately stop and looked to each other, realizing one of them is the best and they all can't be. Both the Atlantian and the gem could tell where the changeling was going and joined in on the debate, knowing that the army will get more confused.

Aqualad: "Come on. You can't all be the best. One of you must be better than the others."

Phos: "Indeed. And you know what they say. Who is better then their peers could be the leader of an army. And all of you can't be the leader."

The army looked to each other and began debating who is the best, even if it leads to bickering.

Trident 8: "I am the original. I am the best."

Trident 9: "You are not the original!"

Tridents: "I AM!"

Trident 10: "Nonsense, you inferior fools! I am perfection. I am Trident!"

Soon enough, arguing turned into fighting as the army of Tridents fought each other using fists and their weapons to prove who is the best. As they were fighting, Phos, Aqualad, and Beast Boy watched on and find the squavel quite entertaining. Most of it was a little cringe worthy, but still fun to watch. When the fight was over, every Trident was knocked out, injured, or wounded, as they were on the ground, defeated by themselves. Phos looked on and was surprised that actually worked.

Phos: "Huh… What do you know? That plan actually worked."

Aqualad saw it as well and agreed with them.

Aqualad: "You're right about that one, Phos. That was a great idea, Beast Boy."

He turned to him for a job well done as he shrugged his shoulders after what the two went through.

Beast Boy: "Kinda got it from you. Now we just have to stop those clones from hatching."

They all turned around to try and stop the hatching sequence. But as they look to the screen, they could see the timer counting down. Once it reaches zero, the alarm blared and the hatching sequence started. All three of them saw it and realized that they are…

BB, Aqualad, and Phos: "Too Late!"

They all turned back around and could see an army of Trident coming out of their pods and landing on the ground, ready to attack them. The group sees this and knew that they don't want to go through the whole rigmarole again.

Phos: "Let's see… Three of us, thousands of them."

Aqualad: "Either way to put it, it all comes down to one thing."

Beast Boy: "RUN!"

BB soon turned into a Hippo and charged right in. Plowing through all the newborn Tridents, he created an opening for Aqualad and Phos to run through. Once they got out of there, they ran through the cave and reach the nearby lake. As they were running, Phos whistled, hoping someone would hear it. As if on cue, the shark popped up and see the three running, with Phos telling it to move.

Phos: "Get ready to leave! We got company coming our way!"

That shark heard that and was confused by that statement. But when it saw an army of Tridents chasing them, it got the message and turned around to depart. Pretty soon, the boys started to dive down while Phos jumped and used their heels and create a platform and landed on the shark, wrapping the rest of its body around their alloy. The two soon dive down and followed the two boys while the Tridents dived in and chase after them. Phos turned around to see them and took out the spear to fired blasts at them. They managed to take out a few of them, but there were a lot to handle.

Phos: "There's too many of them! There's no way I can take them on!"

Aqualad thought that too and decided on taking drastic measures.

Aqualad: "We can't let them escape. We have to find some way of sealing the exit."

Beast Boy: "Right now, I'm just worried about getting to the exit."

They all maneuvered through the cave, trying to reach the exit as fast as possible. During that time, Phos was using the weapon they procured to fire on the ceiling, trying to slow the army down while sealing it completely. While the rocks managed to knock down a few, it won't be enough to seal the cave.

Phos: "Damn it! This weapon won't be enough to seal this cave. I'm going to need some heavy firepower if we are to trap them."

By the time they said that, they could hear a familiar voice coming from their ear.

Robin: "Not to worry, Phos. We'll handle it from here."

The gem heard that and realized they still have that waterproof earpiece in their ear. Getting on it, they knew who that voice belong to.

Phos: "Robin? Is that you? Oh, thank Red Dia. We are in some serious trouble here! Can you get to our position as soon as possible?"

Robin heard that and got the message.

Robin: "Not problem. We already got a lock on your signal on yours and Beast Boy's comms. We're getting there in thirty seconds."

They soon heard Cy's voice, letting them know that what they have planed is going to be loud.

Cyborg: "Just be sure to get out of the cave before we arrive. Got a nasty surprise waiting for that rotten piece of sushi."

Hearing that, they knew that they got something ready for that army.

Phos: "Copy that. Be ready to fire when we leave. And if we don't make it… Well… I don't want to think about that."

Turning off their comm., they swam between BB and Aqualad and told them to hurry.

Phos: "We have to hurry! Our exit window will close in thirty seconds!"

They soon swam past them to reach the exit. The two heard them and took their advice the heart.

Aqualad: "C'mon! Our exit isn't that far. Try to-"

Beast Boy: "Keep up? Yeah. I know."

The two continued to swim faster, trying to reach their exit as quickly as possible. At the same time, the Tridents soon followed and could see them swimming in a hurry. So much so that one of them told them to swim faster.

Trident 11: "They are trying to get away. Hurry! Swim faster! No one shall escape perfection! No one shall escape Trident!"

They all swam faster, trying to catch up to the three. The group was halfway there with only fifteen seconds to go in their closing window. As they were swimming, Phos looked back and could see the army chasing after them.

Phos: "Oh crap! They're gaining on us!"

The Atlantian noticed the exit not far from them and two the others to hurry.

Aqualad: "Keep pushing! We're almost out!"

They continued to swim through the cave, as they were getting closer to their said exit. Meanwhile, the Tridents were chasing them and were approaching the exit as well. Finally, the three managed to exit the cave with only a second to spare. But the army was fast approaching the exit as well and was about to get out. But before they could even make an escape, the T-sub rose up and blocks them. All the Tridents saw that and stopped getting caught by surprise. But before they could actually react, the sub fired two highly powered energy beams and hit the top of the entrance, sealing the cave completely. The team in their respective cockpits looked on and were amazed at what they did.

Robin: "Yes!"

Raven: "Cool!"

Starfire: "Victory!"

Cyborg: "Boo-Yah! Seismic blasters worked like a charm. Nice repair job, tram."

Tram, who was in Beast Boy's cockpit responded in his language, but was also excited about the job he done. Swimming next to the sub was Phos, Aqualad, and Beast Boy, as they were relieved that they weren't trapped in there with the other Tridents.

Phos: "Phew… That was too close for comfort. I thought for sure we would be trapped in there."

Aqualad: "Well, glad we got out in the nick of time. I just happy that we don't have to be dealing with all those clones. Wonder how long those clones would last."

Beast Boy: "Don't know. But it's a good thing Trident likes himself so much, cause I'm thinking he won't see anybody else for a long time."

The group heard him and laughed a little, knowing that Trident will be talking to himself for however long he is trapped in there.

After a long trip back to the Tower, everyone gathered at the pathway to the entrance and help congratulate Aqualad for the assist. Course, that was before Phos explained to Robin of what they encountered in that cave.

Robin: "So… That was Trident's plan with all that toxic waste? To clone himself so he has an army to rule Atlantis and then the world?"

Phos shrugged their shoulders and explained to him of what they encountered.

Phos: "You could say that. At first, we all believed he was going to use that waste to pollute the ocean. But when we were in that cave, we could tell what Trident's true intent was. I mean, using all that waste to clone himself? For someone who admires himself, he was quite the creative bastard. Though if you guys didn't show up and seal that cave, who knows what will happen if that army took over?"

Robin smiled, knowing that they were glad they arrived on time.

Robin: "I agree with you on that. If we didn't arrive, no one would stand a chance. Thankfully, Cyborg and Tran managed to repair the sub so we can find you three. Otherwise, we would be at are necks with Tridents. Regardless, we were able to put an end to his tyranny once and for all."

He soon turned to Aqualad and thanked him for a job well done.

Robin: "And it's all thanks to you Aqualad. If you weren't there saving us, we would've known more of Trident and stopped him from global conquest. By assisting us, you helped us end Trident's plan of conquest and assisted Beast Boy and Phos in to not only discovering what he was planning, but also preventing him from putting his plan into fruition. You certainly have the skills, perseverance, and gumption to aid us in our time of need. So much so that you deserve this for your help. Consider yourself an honorary member of the Teen Titans."

He soon got into his utility belt and took something out and gives it to the Atlantian. Aqualad took the object to look to see what it was. Turns out, it was a T-communicator; just like the ones the team has as it beeped a little jingle. He soon looked back to the leader as he continued to praise him.

Robin: "We couldn't have done it without you. Thanks."

Aqualad: "Right back at you. It's good to know there's people up here I can trust."

Cyborg looked to Tram and was thankful to have a great mechanic under the sea.

Cyborg: "And it's good to know there's folks down there who can fix a hyperjet."

Tram spoke in his language in excitement and pounded the hybrid's fist before uttering the one word…

Tram: "Boo-yah!"

He soon turned to Starfire and Rae and says his goodbyes.

Aqualad: "Bye Raven, Starfire."

Course, during the talk, the two were having serious crushes to him with their eyes as hearts and hearts coming out of their heads.

Raven: "It was…nice to meet you."

Starfire: "Oh, very, very, very nice!"

Phos looked to the two and was a little uncomfortable with how they are reacting to the Atlantian. Raven especially as the thought to her hitting on him makes the gem feel something strange in them. Could it be jealousy? But they brushed it aside and took the spear weapon out off their back to look at it. Approaching Aqualad, they decided to give it to him as a means of thanks.

Phos: "Um… I suppose you will be needing this. The people of Atlantis would need proof that Trident has been defeated."

Aqualad looked to Trident's weapon and was silent about it. After thinking about it, he made his decision on what to do with the weapon.

Aqualad: "You can keep it."

The gem heard that response and was caught by surprise, knowing that he need it more then them.

Phos: "Are… Are you sure? This weapon belonged to Trident. If you bring it to Atlantis, then the people there would know you defeated him."

Aqualad got his hand up and told them that they need it.

Aqualad: "That is true… But if Trident is no longer attacking my home, it would be enough to know that I…we defeated Trident together. Besides, you've been handling it pretty well. Maybe in the near future, you can use it for any future use in battle."

Phos heard his thoughts and looked to the weapon they possess. With a bit of a smirk, they get what he meant.

Phos: "Hmm… could use a weapon that I can use then wasting my alloy. Could be a good enough replacement for the sword that I lost back home. That is of course I can use it for emergency purposes. You know, if things start to get dire."

Aqualad heard that and gave a nod of approval.

Aqualad: "Yeah. That seems about right. It could come in handy if you need it on certain missions."

Phos smiled and was glad he agreed with them. Just then, there was a nudge on their foot and look down to see the shark that was with the gem since the sunken cargo ship. Apparently, it found a proper spot where it's deep enough to breath underwater as a grunted to them on its role on the mission. Phos simply chuckled and told it that it was right.

Phos: "Of course I didn't forget about you. You were a big help to me as well. You did help me travel when I can't run underwater and if you didn't tell me were Beast Boy and Aqualad were, I would've been completely lost. I couldn't have done anything without you."

They petted the shark to give it a job well done. The shark itself grunted, saying its farewell to them.

Phos: "Yeah, I'm going to miss you too. I do want to give you a bit of advice though. If there's a tornado in the middle of the sea, don't go to it. It's going to end disastrous for everyone."

The shark looked at them strangely and find that a bit confusing. But decided to accept that and nodded in understanding. Aqualad looked at the conversation and wondered what the gem meant by that.

Aqualad: "Tornado in the sea? What is your friend talking about?"

He turned to Beast Boy for an explanation and the changeling just shrugs it off.

Beast Boy: "Oh, you know… It's movie reference from the surface. You wouldn't understand."

The Atlantian heard that and decided not to get involved.

Aqualad: "Oh… I see… Well, better not talk about it further."

BB soon changed to subject and finally thanked him on a job well done.

Beast Boy: "What can I say, dude? You're the best."

Aqualad soon smiled and thought the same thing to the green Titan.

Aqualad: "Nah… You're the best."

BB smirked, and thought of something that could give themselves a bit of a competition.

Beast Boy: "Yeah… You're right."

He soon walked ahead and started to stretch a little to prepare for something.

Beast Boy: "And if you ever want me to prove it, I'm always up for a race."

Aqualad knew where this was going and approach him, patting his head and accepting the challenge.

Aqualad: "Just try and keep up."

And so, the two begin to race down the hill and jumped into the water, wanting to prove each other who is the fastest. Phos look down to the group and smiled, knowing full well that the two will get along just fine. Robin then looked to them and asked if they want to join in.

Robin: "Well… What are you waiting for? Why don't you join them in the race."

The gem looked at him and waved it off.

Phos: "As fun as it sounds, I would pass on that. I had enough sea adventures for one day. Besides, I need to let friends know that I'm safe. That and an added souvenir to my room. Excuse me."

They soon walked past the group and headed back to the Tower. Robin looked on in confusion and turned to Raven for an explanation.

Robin: "Um… When Phos means their friends, they are referring too…"

Rae, who snapped out of her love trance from seeing Aqualad turned to the leader and told him of who the gem was mentioning.

Raven: "The collection of gems I gave them for Christmas? Pretty much."

Back in the Tower, Phos was walking down the corridor and approached their room. Reaching their door, it opened automatically and the gem stepped through. Once they were in the room, they say hello to the gems on the shelves to let them know that they're back.

Phos: "Hey guys! I'm back from my mission in the sea. And before you ask, no Rutile, I didn't loose my legs again. I learned that lesson the hard way. But I was successful on the mission. Even met someone you haven't heard from before. His name is Aqualad and he's from Atlantis. I never thought a city like that exist underwater, but here we are. The relationship did started off a little rocky, especially when Beast Boy is involved. But we managed to stop Trident, who wishes to clone himself to create an army and take over the world. And check this out."

Approaching the shelf of gems, they showed the weapon Trident uses to attack them and their friends.

Phos: "This weapon is what Trident used to attack me and my friends. Well… One of the Tridents anyways. Keep in mind that I wasn't aware that Trident was using all this toxic waste to create more of himself. I was pretty much in the dark of his plans until I figured it all out. Anyways, this is the weapon he used on us and I was able to grab it from him. Or was it one of his clones? I really don't know. But I was able to use it and, although it was rocky, got the hang of it. And besides, what would make a good replacement weapon for my sword I left back home.

The moment they said that, their expression changed from worry to dread, wondering about what happened back home when they and Cinnabar were taken.

Phos: "Home… That is was I'm wondering since I got here. What's been happening at home while I'm stuck here, trying to find Cinnabar? Are all of you are okay? What about the Lunarians? Were any gems taken by them? How is sensei holding up? These are the many questions that are going through my head now. It's the questions that I worry the most. I'm hoping that one day, my friends will find a way to bring me back home. And when that day comes, I'll find Cinnabar and we can both return home. But until then, I'm stuck here with no other way to return. Sure I have a long lifespan, but my friends…"

Just the thought about the team really made them unease about how short their lives are compared to them. But they start to shake that thought of them and focus on the now.

Phos: "Forget it! That is something I shouldn't worry about now. Right now, it's about finding Cinnabar and getting back home. I just hope I find them soon. With all that mercury in their body, I don't know what harm they would do to anyone and themselves."

Putting the weapon away, they turned to the gems and told them on what they're doing.

Phos: "Oh well… Better get to working on my next encyclopedia. Since I now know that Atlantis exists, I better start looking into it and see about how it's created and the like. Could be a good talking off point on its existence. Wonder if that world still exists on my world. Hmm… Imagine the possibilities."

They soon returned to their computer and begin conducting research of Atlantis and any known facts behind it. It's the closest thing to distract themselves until there is a way to return home. Of course, what they didn't know is that the gems will discover something back home that would shape both worlds. But that's another story, for another time.

And that will do it for the Deep Six episode. Yes, this is another two parter that didn't need much of a third. But this is something that I want to focus on as it is mostly a quick filler and to have Phos use both their speaking ability underwater and the fact that they can survive underwater as much as Beast Boy. Not to mention a new weapon they now possess. Now they won't be using that weapon all the time, only when things would start to get dire, like say the season finales or serious feuds. But you get to see it in later episodes. Maybe in this next episode as well. And this time, we'll be going back to the Slade and Poison battle in one of the most infamous episodes in the Titans series yet. Masks! Oh yeah! This is going to start getting interesting.
