Rustbucket
"It's too hot in here" Rose said as she leaned over the back of her seat sweating
"It's also hot out there" Lilly said as she leaned up against the freezer
"Could be worse" Allie said as she sat there and read her book
"How are you three doing back?" Ben asked the girls as he continued to drive
"Ben, we're dying, we need cold air, we need water" Rose answered dramatically
"So you're hot" Ben said
"That is an understatement Ben, it is over 200 out there and it's a solid 150 in here" Lilly said
"What she said" Rose said agreeing with her sister
"Look, I'm trying to use as much AC as I can to cool it down in here, if I use too much it'll explode" Ben said
"I thought this RV was decked out in advanced alien technology, how could the AC explode from using it too much?" Rose asked
"You'd be surprised to know that the alien technology in here doesn't work like that, it is our navigation systems, combat systems, every system except what was originally built into this RV the day my grandfather purchased it" Ben answered
"Well that sucks" Rose said sitting back up in her seat
"How come you and Mutt aren't dying of heat?" Lilly asked Allie
"Simple, Mutt has found a cool spot in the cabinet next to the freezer" Allie answered
Lilly opened up said cabinet and saw the tiny Vulpimancer pup stretched out and relaxed as he was taking a long nap
"That explains that but it doesn't explain why you aren't dying" Rose said pointing at Allie
Allie let out a sigh as she sat the book she was reading down on the table
"I'm not dying of heat like you two because I'm wearing light clothing that isn't made of heavy material that holds in heat, also, I used Cerebrum's enhanced Galvan intelligence to create this" Allie explained as she showed a bracelet with a silver looking stone on it
"What's that supposed to be?" Rose asked pointing at the bracelet
"This is a device that regulates one's own body heat, if you want a hot temperature tap this once, if you want a cold temperature tap it twice, to turn it off tap it three times" Allie answered explaining what the bracelet was and how it worked
"Where'd you get the parts to build it?" Ben asked looking back from the driver seat
"I wrote down a list of parts when was Cerebrum and then collected each part as described on the list, also it helped scavenging a few parts from those drones that tried to kill us" Allie answered
"While I am glad you are using your transformations effectively, do not mess with anymore parts from those robots, Rook hasn't been able to find who made them and who sent them after you three" Ben said
"Okay big brother, I won't do it again" Allie said
"I'm gonna need you do it one more time, I need one of those things" Rose said
"Make it two times, I also need one" Lilly said
Time Skip
Ben continued to drive down the desert road not thinking about anything other then getting to the Grand Canyon on time
"How much longer until we get there?" Rose asked
"It'll probably be about a day, I honestly can't say for some reason the GPS and map aren't working" Ben answered as he tapped the screen displaying the map and their location
"We're lost, aren't we?" Rose asked
"We aren't lost, its just taking awhile, that it, right Ben?" Lilly asked Ben unsure
"Sorry Lilly, but Rose is right" Ben answered as the screen went fuzzy then white and then to black
With no map and no GPS, Ben stopped the Rustbucket and turned it off, he then got up and walked into the cabin. Immediately he walked over to the cabinets, before he did anything he took Mutt from his spot and gave him back to Allie.
"Sorry bud but I need to use these real quick" Ben said as he began to press buttons
Suddenly more screens appeared from the cabinets and Ben began to press buttons and turn dials. Like with the screen next to the driver seat, these monitors weren't showing anything.
"That is just great" Ben said irritated
"What's the matter?" Allie asked
"It appears as though none of the navigation systems in here are working they are all shut off" Ben answered scratching his head
"Do you know what's going on with them?" Lilly asked Ben
"Unfortunately I don't and its not like I can call a repair service for Galvan technology out here" Ben answered
"So now what do we do?" Rose asked
"Looks like we keep driving straight until we find civilization" Ben answered as he walked back over to the driver seat
"Great, just great, we're lost in the desert with no way out of here, it keeps getting hotter and hotter, I mean what is so special about this place?" Rose asks throwing her arms in the air
"Actually Rose, Sonoran desert is one of the largest deserts in the Americas, it spans from large parts of the Southwestern United States in Arizona and California as well as Northwestern Mexico in Sonora, Baja California, and Baja California Sur. It is the hottest desert in Mexico. It has an area of 260,000 square kilometers" Lilly answered
"Lil, the question was rhetorical, I don't actually care about this place" Rose said getting angry
"Sorry, I felt that someone with hardly any information should know about the place they are hating" Lilly replied
"Are you calling me stupid?" Rose asked
"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not but you wouldn't be able to tell" Lilly answered mockingly
Before the two of them could even start to fight, Ben slammed his foot down on the break and stopped the Rustbucket
"Listen up, both of you, there will be no fighting, all of us are hot and miserable" Ben began to say
"Except for Allie" both of them interrupted
"Allie, turn your thing off" Ben said
"Okay big brother, I will" Allie said pressing the silver bead three times
"Now where was I? Oh yeah, we are all suffering and getting lost didn't help with that, fighting amongst ourselves isn't either, it's only going to make things worse, I was planning on taking us to the Grand Canyon but if you two won't stop fighting, I will turn around and take us to great aunt Vera, all it will take is a phone call" Ben said to the girls threatening them with a punishment if they didn't stop fighting
"Who's great aunt Vera?" The girls asked
"Let's just say aunt Vera lives in a very "fun" and has a very great taste when it comes to food, I'm sure she would be delighted to find out that she has three new great nieces, by the way she is a cheek pincher, can't get enough of it" Ben answered scaring the girls with a serious look on his face
"Hey Allie, wouldn't you just love to have great aunt Vera pinch your cheeks and tell you how much she's glad to finally meet you over and over again?" Ben asked Allie
Allie didn't answer, she instead looked over at Rose and Lilly, she didn't say anything, all Allie did was give her sisters a cold and scary looking glare
"Seems like Allie is down for it, what about you two?" Ben asked
"No, we'll get along" Lilly answered in a panic
"Trust me, no more fighting" Rose answered
"Good, now sit down" Ben said
"Hey big brother, hate ruin your moment but I don't think you'd be able to call Vera anyways" Allie said
"Why's that?" Ben asked
"Because our non alien technology isn't working" Allie answered
Ben was confused but when Allie showed him that the laptop wasn't working neither was the TV, the radio, the fridge and freezer. Nothing on the Rustbucket was working except for the engine.
"That isn't good" Ben said
"So now what do we do?" Lilly asked
"Since the engine still works I'm gonna continue with our original plan, just drive until we find civilization" Ben answered
"Let's hope we find it soon" Rose said sitting down
Time Skip
Ben continued to drive down the desert road without his navigation systems and not having anything working in the Rustbucket except for the engine. As Ben drove, Rose noticed something on the side of the road.
"Hey Ben stop, I see something over there" she said pointing at thing sticking out onto the road
Ben drove up a bit so he could see it more clearly, as Ben did that he saw that it was a sign
"A sign?" Rose asked confused
"What's a sign doing out here?" Lilly asked
"What's it say big brother?" Allie asked
"I don't know, let me see" Ben said leaning forwards to read the sign better
"Stay at the Silbón Desert Oasis: Only 4.5 miles ahead" the sign read
"What's the Silbón Desert Oasis?" Rose asked
"It's probably a roadside motel or something" Ben answered
"With a name like that its probably a fancy hotel" Lilly said
"Either way, its civilization or something close to it" Ben said
"You can fix whatever is wrong with the Rustbucket there" Allie said
"That is the plan" Ben replied
With that Ben began to drive down the road towards the Silbón Desert Oasis, whatever it was. He was unsure of it but for now it was a place where he could stop to let the girls rest as he fixed the Rustbucket.
Time Skip
Silbón Desert Oasis
It didn't take more then what the sign had said it would to get to the place but Ben made it to the Silbón Desert Oasis and pulled into the parking lot. From the looks of the place, it seemed almost like a resort of some sort. It was dark so Ben and the girls couldn't exactly see what the hotel had. They did however see plenty of cars and RVs in the parking lot along with a large glowing sign above the entrance.
"I don't know girls, what do you think?" Ben asked the girls
"It seems like it has A/C in it" Lilly answered
"It better have A/C in it" Rose said
Allie didn't say anything, she just looked at the hotel from the window of the Rustbucket
"What is it Allie?" Ben asked worried for the young girl
"Something bothering you sis?" Rose asked
Allie shook her head
"No, I just don't know about it" Allie answered
"Well once we go inside maybe you'll come around to it" Ben said
With that, Ben made the girls pack up some clothes in the suitcases he bought them and then they walked up to the entrance of hotel. When they got to the entrance there were these two men dressed in bright red suits, standing in front of the door.
"Welcome to the Silbón Desert Oasis, we hope you enjoy your stay" they both said in a creepy voice
As the two doormen opened the doors of the entrance, Ben, Lilly and Rose walked in. Allie was last, as she walked in she saw the two men giving her and the others creepy stares. That bugged Allie out a bit and made her run a bit faster to join up with Ben and her sisters. Ben and the girls then walked into the large area that had a golden statue in it. There was all sorts of smaller statues and other pieces of art all over the room.
"Wow, what a lobby" Ben said looking around
"These pieces must have come from a museum" Lilly said
"We would like you to think that but they were actually made by the family members of the owners" a voice said
Ben and the girls turned around and saw a man standing there, he wore a nice suit, had a mustache on his face and had scar going down the left side of his face
"And you are?" Ben asked
"Forgive me for my rudeness, I did not introduce myself, my name is Señor José Francisco and I am the current owner of this hotel as well as the main concierge" the man said introducing himself to Ben and the girls as he stuck his hand out
"Hello there señor Francisco" Ben said shaking the man's hand
"I see you four have not checked in, do you plan on staying here?" Francisco asked
"We saw the sign for this place as our vehicle began to break down and figure we could stay here while a mechanic could work on it" Ben answered
"While I am glad that you want to stay with us but I must inform you there isn't a mechanic for more then 500 miles" Francisco said
"That's a shame, I guess I'll have to do what I can" Ben said
"Well, why don't you get some rest in one of our rooms and you can fix your vehicle while your children can enjoy our facilities" Francisco said putting a hand on Ben's shoulder
"I guess we can do that" Ben said
Hearing that the girls quietly cheered for themselves under their breath so Ben couldn't hear them
"Why don't you follow me to the front counter so we can get you a room" Francisco said leading Ben away from the girls
"I'll follow you I guess" Ben said
As Ben walked off, the girls began to walk around the lobby and look at everything there was. As they walked around, Rose stopped at a peculiar looking picture on the wall.
"Hey Lilly, you're a know it all, what's this a picture of?" Rose asked Lilly
Lilly walked over to where Rose was and got a better look at the picture she was looking at. The picture itself was that off a skeleton like figure wearing old and tattered clothes while having a large sombrero on its head. That was the strangest thing about the picture, the sack with skeletal arms and legs sticking out of it was the strangest thing about the picture.
"Hmmm, I don't know exactly what it is, maybe it's a day of the dead picture or something like that" Lilly answered
"Its looks like a monster" Allie said looking at the picture
"Maybe it's something from Spanish folklore or something like that" Lilly said wondering what the skeleton figure was
"Either way, I wouldn't want to see that guy in the middle of the night" Rose said
As the girls went back to walking around, Ben was over at the front desk getting him and the girls a room to sleep in
"Felipe help this man get a room" Francisco said to the man at the front counter
"Right away sir" the meek man said typing on a computer
"I really only need a room with two maybe three beds, money isn't a problem for me" Ben said
"Nonsense, you are my guest and you deserve the best this hotel has to offer, you will get a master room while your daughters get our three bed children's room" Francisco said patting Ben on the back
"Well actually they really aren't my children" Ben tried to say before Francisco interrupted him
"Here are the keys to your rooms, the master is room 670 and the children room is 660, you are both on the third floor to the right" Francisco said handing Ben the keys to the room patting him on the back once he caught them
"What about payment?" Ben asked confused
"Every customer pays when they leave" Francisco said with a laugh as he pushed Ben forwards
As Ben walked towards the elevator he called the girls over and they followed him to the elevator
"And remember to please, enjoy your stay at the Silbón Desert Oasis" Francisco said to them as they got on the elevator
Time Skip
Ben followed Francisco's instructions and lead the girls to the rooms, it didn't take them long to get there and to see that both rooms were across from one another
"Okay so that one is your room and here is your key" Ben said to the girls, handing Lilly the key to the room
"Over here is my room, now if something happens and you don't know what to do, don't be afraid to come over to my room and get me for help" Ben said
"We understand Ben" Lilly said
"Don't worry about us" Rose said
"See you in the morning" Allie said as Mutt popped out of her bag and barked
"Alright now, we'll wake up together tomorrow and check this place out, I don't want the three of you running around without me knowing where you are" Ben told them
"We'll wait for you Ben, we won't go anywhere without telling you first" Lilly said
"You will be the first person I tell if I'm going to the bathroom" Rose said sarcastically
Ben gave her that look that made Rose grown a bit
"Fiiiinnnneee!!! Geesh, you'll know where I am at all times" Rose said
"Okay then, with that understood, good night ladies, I will see you in the morning" Ben said before he walked over to his room
"Good night big brother" Allie said as Mutt barked to Ben
The girls opened their door and walked into their room to find that it was fairly large. Immediately Rose ran towards the bed she wanted and jumped up onto it.
"I call this one" she said
"I guess I'll take the one towards the wall, Allie you can have the bed by the window" Lilly said
"Ok" Allie said as she walked over to her bed
The girls got into their sleeping clothes and laid down onto their beds, each of them was tired from the long drive and needed some sleep. As Lilly turned off the lights, each of the girls went to sleep. Allie on the other hand heard a strange noise that woke her up from her sleep. Looking around, Allie tried to figure out who was making that noise and where it was coming from. The noise wasn't coming from Lilly or Rose since each of them was asleep. Allie heard the noise coming from outside so she looked out her window to see if she could see what it was.
The sound became more clearer and Allie could tell that the sound she was hearing was a loud whistle. As she heard the whistling, Allie saw a shadow move by some cars before looking up at her. Immediately frightened, Allie hid under covers so she wouldn't be seen by whatever it was. Worried, Mutt rubbed up against Allie's cheek to make sure she was ok.
"Don't worry Mutt, we'll be safe, let's just hide here till morning" Allie said to Mutt
Mutt barked quietly as Allie held him tightly and tried to go to sleep while hiding from whatever she saw from outside. Little did she know as the whistling was getting louder, whatever she saw had moved on.
A/N: And what a weird turn of events readers, Ben and the girls are staying at some weird hotel in the middle of nowhere while Allie is seeing and hearing strange things and noises. Sorry it took so long for this chapter to come out but I was working on a few things that took up a lot of my time. Luckily I've finished and now I can get back on to what would seem like a regular updating schedule. Sorry this didn't come out yesterday but was acting up yesterday and I was only able to get one chapter of a different story published.
Hopefully I don't run into anymore problems like that but who knows with this app. Since there aren't any questions from the last chapter and basically one comment, I'm just going to keep this one short. Thank you for reading and for your support, I will see you all later
