"You failed to stop them" a ghostly voice says
"Who…who said that?" Ben asks nervously as he stares into the dark abys
"You failed to save them, especially the one who took you in" the same ghostly voice says
"Who…whoever you are show yourself" Ben said
Just then a ghostly figure floats out from the dark abys showing itself to the frightened Ben
"G…Ghostfreak?" Ben asks scared and confused
"Who else would it be Tennyson" Ghostfreak answers getting in Ben's face
"This can't be real, your just some DNA in the omnitrix, this is a dream" Ben said walking away
"This is no dream Tennyson, no dream at all" Ghostfreak said phasing through Ben's body to face him
"Well then, its not my fault they died, it's not my fault she died, its your fault for not letting me transform when I needed to" Ben said
"It isn't our fault, you had your chance to transform but you wasted it, you got cocky, you got too comfortable in this world" Ghostfreak said
"Our fault?" Ben asked
Just then more of Ben's transformations stepped out of the darkness revealing themselves to Ben
"You went back to treating us like a toy, protecting that idiot and entertaining the rest of those children" Heatblast said
"None of us our test subjects for that man, but you let him do what he wanted" Four Arms said
"It isn't like that, Grisha offered to help me get back home, I just did what he asked in return for that" Ben said defending himself
"You needed a taste of reality, we gave it to you" Big Chill said
"You are a hero but not in this world, you don't have your biomnitrix to save them" Ripjaws said
"I may not have my biomnitrix and I may be stuck in this 10 year old body, I still have an omnitrix, am omnitrix that betrayed me" Ben said lifting up his wrist that had the omnitrix on it
All of the transformations started to laugh at Ben and his display
"What's so funny?" Ben asked confused
"That isn't your omnitrix Tennyson" Diamondhead said
Ben was confused hearing Diamondhead say that
"This isn't like the original omnitrix you destroyed or the completed one you abandoned us all in" Ghostfreak said
"You don't know how to use it the right way, only the way you think you know" Humungousaur said
"If I don't know how to use it then tell me how then" Ben said angered
"Simple, use it to save this world, use it to save these people, use it to fulfill the promise you made" Ghostfreak answered appearing in front of Ben
"You want me to be the hero of this world and save them?" Ben asked
"No, the foolish one is the one who is destined to save them but he will fail" Brainstorm answered
Ben knew that Brainstorm was talking about Eren
"You want me to be there when he fails?" Ben asked
"Precisely" Brainstorm answered
"However there is still the matter that you need to step up, stop acting like a child" XLD8 said
"Hero or not, do not use us a playthings again or you will lose again" Swampfire said
"Now wake up" Ghostfreak said
Refuge Camp
Ben awoke from his dream to see Mikasa waking him up with Eren next to her
"Come on Ben wake up, it's time to get our rations" Mikasa
"Okay, okay" Ben said slowly getting up
The three then walked over to the area where they would receive their bread rations. Ben still couldn't believe what had happened to them, it hadn't been that long since the titans attacked and everything changed. Ben had been having nightmares to the day he failed to save Carla, Eren's mother from that titan. He also felt like he was constantly being reminded of his failure to stop the titans. That was where that dream came in, he had had it a few times since coming to the camp with the others.
His transformations would appear and reminded him of his failures and tell him that day was punishment for abusing the omnitrix instead of using it like he's supposed to. Ben still couldn't figure out what the transformations really wanted him to do. Did they want him to be a hero and save the day or did they want him to save the day after Eren would fail for some reason. Regardless, Ben was going to do things his own way but still be cautious of the omnitrix. It wasn't like the original and it wasn't like the completed one, this omnitrix was something else and had a mind of its own.
"Hey guys good to see that your up" Armin said as he walked over with bread in his arms
"Hey Armin" they all said as Armin handed each of them a loaf of bread
Off in the distance some soldiers were watching Ben and the others talk and eat their bread. One of them scoffed at the sight and had something to say about it.
"You know, if those damn titans had eaten more people there would be less mouths to feed" he said
Eren heard the soldiers comment and was angered by it, in retaliation, Eren went over to the soldier and kicked him in the shin
"What the hell was that for you little shit!?!" The soldier asked yelling in pain as he grabbed his shin
"You weren't there that day, you have no idea what happened, you haven't seen the titans!!!" Eren said yelling at the soldier
The soldier was going to hit Eren but luckily Armin stepped in and stopped that from happening by getting down on his knees and apologizing to the soldier
"I am so sorry sir, he isn't all there in the head, please forgive him for his transgressions" Armin plead to soldier
Seeing Armin beg the other soldier to the one to just drop it and move on
"Alright, just this once I'll let it slide but keep that one on a leash of some sort" the soldier said
"Thank you very much sir" Armin said
"Yes sir, thank you" Ben said with a fake smile on his face
With that over Ben took Eren to the side and let him go free
"Why did you stop me, he needed to learn a lesson?" Eren asked frustrated
"Because Eren, we're kids he was an adult, you could of gotten hurt" Armin answered
"I don't care about that, I still could have beaten him" Eren said
"Sure you could have" Ben said sarcastically
"Like you've got anything to say, you'd let them walk all over you in a heartbeat" Eren told Ben
"Actually Eren, I'm not an idiot addicted to fighting and causing problems like you are" Ben said
"You two need to stop fighting, it isn't worth it" Mikasa said
"Sorry Mikasa but Eren needs to hear this" Ben said
"If you've got something to say, say it to my face" Eren said yelling at Ben
"You want to hear what I have to say? Fine, you are an arrogant asshole who thinks every problem can be solved by punching it in the face, your worse then Rath and at least he has a brain and uses it" Ben said
"Whatever, your just mad because I have the conviction to actually do something about our situation while you stand around and do nothing" Eren replied
"Really? Punching a soldier because he made you mad must be a whole lot of something" Ben said
"Come on guys stop it" Armin said trying to break up the fight
"Shut up Armin, you let those cowards walk all over, your worse then him" Eren told Armin, immediately silencing him
"Don't talk to Armin like that, your problem is with me" Ben said
"You two are the same, you let them walk over you too, you don't do anything" Eren said
"What am I supposed to do Eren? Beating them up would only cause more problems" Ben said
"Your just a coward Ben, you are the worst, you let people die and you fail when your needed most, you let the titans kill all those people especially my mom, some hero you are" Eren said angering Ben
Something inside of Ben snapped, he had gotten so mad at that last comment Eren made. He walked over to Eren and out of nowhere punched him in the face knocking him down to the ground.
"You shut the hell up, I am sick and tired of you, all you do is talk and fight, pushing my buttons and the buttons of everyone around, if Mikasa wasn't around you'd die a hell of a lot sooner also if she wasn't attached to your side like a lost puppy you'd be alone because no one likes you" Ben said
"If I'm all talk then so are you bastard, you talk about being a hero but you failed to be one when people needed you most" Eren said punching Ben
"I failed because I protected you, I saved your ass, honestly I'm starting to regret doing that, I don't know why she made me promise to help you, your failure and a waste of potential" Ben replied punching Eren
That angered Eren and he charged at Ben, Ben reacted quickly and got Eren in a wrist lock. Quickly Ben kneed Eren in the gut a few times before letting go and punching him one more time.
"You aren't worth my time, worth my effort" Ben said spitting out blood
"You'll see asshole, I'll join the Scout Regiment and I'll kill all the titans, I'll be better then you in every way even without a watch that turns me into monsters" Eren said getting up slowly
"Whatever, I hope you get eaten by a titan and die while I watch it happen, goodbye and good riddance" Ben said walking away from Eren
"Come on you two, it doesn't need to be this way" Armin said trying to stop them
"It's too late Armin, they need to calm down now" Mikasa told him
Time Skip
Since that day, Ben hadn't apologized to Eren and the same vice versa the two weren't angry at each other but with themselves. They both had lost something that day and they had been changed forever. Several days later, survivors went out and tried to till the land so there could be more food. Unfortunately that was stopped when titans showed up. Ben decided to act and do something about it, without anyone knowing he killed all the titans and disposed of them. Tilling went on and more bread was made for the survivors to eat.
During that time, Ben began to train hid body even more then he had done before in the past. His transformations were right, he relied to much on them for everything, he needed to prove to them, prove to Eren, prove to everyone he could do things on his own. Days turned into years and by the year 846, 12% of the population had sacrificed themselves to stop the titans and win back wall Maria. Unfortunately in a failed attempt to take back the wall amongst all of those who participated had been killed.
Armin's grandfather was amongst those lost that day, alone, Ben came together with Eren and Mikasa to be there for him. Even though they hadn't apologized for what was said that day, Ben and Eren came to an agreement. After that problems with lack of food began to alleviate, even though the circumstances were grim. Eren was still swearing that he would join the Survey Corps and defeat all the titans. Eventually Ben began to agree with Eren, he'd join them as well and look after Eren and maybe find a way back to his universe. Where Ben and Eren went, Mikasa and Armin followed right behind them.
Time Skip
By the time Ben, Eren, Mikasa and Armin had turned 16, they were old enough to enlist and join the Trainee Corps. Something also happened for Ben when he turned 16 in his current body. Something happened to the omnitrix, it began to grow and change form. It began to look more like the omnitrix that one version of his future self wore mixed with what the omnitrix looked like when it recalibrated after five years.

Something else also had happened, Ben had unlocked more transformations and could stay transformed for longer and switch transformations more times without running out of power. With this Ben would continue his journey to get back home and kill some titans while he was at it.
"So are you ready to sign up?" Eren asked Ben
"Yeah I'm ready" Ben answered
"Same here" Armin said
"Look Armin, you don't have to join if you don't want to" Eren told Armin
"But I do, if you three are joining, I want to join with you" Armin stated
"I'll be dangerous, are you up to the challenge?" Ben asked
"I'm ready and I know if something happens, the three of you got my back like I've got yours" Armin answered
With that, Ben, Eren, Mikasa and Armin signed up to join the 104th Trainee Corps
Time Skip
104th Trainee Corps Training Camp
Standing all in rows was the cadets of the 104th, standing in front of them was a man by the name of Keith Sadies. He was the one in charge of all of them and he was going to begin introductions.
"My name is Keith Sadies and I am the commandant of the 104th Trainee Corps, you will address me as sir, do I make myself clear?" Sadies asked the cadets
"Sir, yes sir" they all answered
"Good, I will be training you for the next three years and let me say this now, these coming three years will be hell" Sadies said
Off In The Distance
Standing aside a cliff looking down on the training camp and the cadets was a man in a lab coat holding a cane while having a robotic hand
"Oh my, this should be interesting to watch, I hope you are ready for what is to come dear Benjamin" the man said in a British accent
Just then the man took out a gold pocket watch and opened it up
"Would you look at the time, I need to get going, I believe there is a Ben with a beastly problem or is it a Gwendolyn that has the problem? Honestly I don't know anymore" the man said as a portal opened up in front of him
As he walked into the portal he stopped and noticed the omnitrix on Ben's wrist
"Hmm, it may be nothing but that omnitrix seems odd to me, it isn't one I've seen before, I might go and check up on it" the man said before finally entering the portal completely and it closing behind him
A/N: Sorry for this chapter being so short, I know I try to make it longer but I wanted to keep the next chapter about the whole training going on with Ben and the others. I hope you did enjoy this chapter though, I wanted to depict Ben's mental state and how he is going after wall Maria falling. Also what is with his omnitrix and what is going on in general. What do you readers think about that dream he had, was it real and what are those transformations going to do to Ben. Those questions and more will be answered in future chapters but for now let me leave you with this, That isn't a normal omnitrix and it doesn't function like one either.
Oh yeah, Paradox showed up, he'll show up again soon but not right now, also does he know something about the omnitrix Ben is wearing and what other Ben could he be talking about. Now, I know a lot of people are telling me Waybig could beat Bertholdt and I agree with you he could. He's stronger, he's got more feats of strength and he has cosmic beams. However I was saying Bertholdt was taller and faster then Waybig so, Ben would still win but it wouldn't be all that easy to do so.
So please stop reminding me and telling me all about it because I already know. Now I am going to answer some questions from the last chapter and respond to some comments afterwards. Milo S Darek, it isn't a normal omnitrix it works like the original and when the original one recalibrated. It doesn't exactly work like the finished one he has in Omniverse. So you'll have to wait and see if it has all of those failsafes that'll prevent Ben from dying.
Calderoneric758, all I can say is this, no comment, I plead the 5th and you'll just have to wait and see what happens to the potatoes girl. With the questions answered, I'm going to be moving onto comments next. Wahid Alam, Ben at the time was young, he may be a 30 some year old in a 10 year old body, he's inevitably going to have some childlike tendencies, especially after having such a great loss. I mean he took the original omnitrix off after Malware removed Feedback, his favorite transformation at the time.
Guest, it may suck to you but it works in this situation, throughout Ben 10, the omnitrix has been known to not work when Ben needs it to and when it does it sometimes doesn't work the way he wanted to. So in a sense, it not working when the titans attack does make complete sense. If you think you're a writer and could do better, I would like to see you try.
Write me a scenario where the omnitrix works and Ben somehow does what he can and nothing doesn't actually change and set up the story like it is supposed to.
