"To break God's law is a sin! You can't enter Upper Yard!"
The Straw Hat crew had lunch with Conis and her father. The pirates asked the pair of angels about the Sky Island.
Then somehow the conversation turned to "Upper Yard".
Luffy knew that the last time Nami had returned safely from her trip on the waver, in the "original" line the rubber man didn't care for the safety of the navigator, not that he didn't care, Luffy considered Nami was one of the smartest people he had ever met in his life.
He was sure that Nami would get out unscathed or escape danger should the situation arise.
Hell, she can stand her ground. She had her Clima Tact; she had Zeus… And then Luffy realized his mistake.
She didn't have Zeus, yet.
And it didn't help as he listened to Conis's warnings and Sanji's claims that Nami might be in danger. He couldn't help but worry.
The last time he ignored the warnings that something was wrong, Ace had been defeated by Black-Beard and captured by the navy.
In this new timeline, things were going the same as in the "original" but some things weren't as he remembered them, his crew was more agitated than the last time and some of his nakama were behaving "strange", Nami behaved strangely when he gave her his hat.
Thinking about the navigator, she had to be fine, she was the best navigator in the world, she could easily escape those "priests" at full speed with the waver if she approached Upper Yard this time, but ... if Enel appeared before her?
Luffy remembered that when they reached SkyPiea, it was the first time he saw the use of the Observation Haki; he understood Enel possessed this Haki, but he didn't know his range. Besides that, he could see into the future but didn't know how many seconds, if Nami encountered Enel…
Luffy shook those thoughts from his head. He had to find his navigator.
"I don't care. If my Navigator is in danger, then we have to go find her," Luffy said firmly to Conis. The gummy had gotten up, leaving a half-eaten plate. He went to the door of the house. "Guys, come on!"
"Don't be foolish! If you make God Enel angry, you will have serious problems!" Conis said, trying to stop them. "They can't know for sure that her navigator is in the Upper Yard!"
"Once Luffy decides, it is impossible to make him change his mind ..." Ussop commented, resigned to see the captain's attitude, a moment ago he was acting as usual, but at the mention of Upper Yard and Nami, Luffy's attitude gave a 180-degree turn, it almost seemed that he was scared by the navigator, also he was scratching the area where that scar was, what was wrong with Luffy?, Nami wouldn't put herself in danger so easily, well unless It was money or some treasure.
"I'm just worried. We don't have many visitors on the island and the few who get there are violent and end up causing problems. I want nothing to happen to you," said Conis.
"Don't worry Miss Angel, this crew isn't weak, it will not fall, it would not be the first time they have angered someone of importance" said the archaeologist as she also got up and went to the exit, Robin had already bet on the straw hats in Arabasta, no matter how strange this island may seem and no matter how "taboo" this "God" was, the archaeologist didn't feel they were in danger ... she would continue betting on the captain, he wanted to see how far his luck reached ... Or it was his strength?
Zoro only sighed as he listened his captain, Nami wasn't a fool, she had intelligence that rivaled that of the devil ... the swordsman couldn't help thinking about this while feeling the emptiness in his pockets, since they met the navigator the swordsman was in a state of perpetual bankruptcy.
"Again the witch causing us problems ..." Zoro commented with a little mockery in his voice as he stretched his arms and cracked his neck.
"Damn Marimo! Nami-san is a damsel! She could be in danger!" said the cook with a vein standing out on his forehead. Zoro ignored the chef's complaint and instead asked, "Then what are you doing? If you are so worried about the 'damsel', why have you not moved?"
"Well, what do you think I'm doing? The idiot of our captain will beg after a while for me to feed him and I will not waste this food that Conis-Chan's father prepared for us" Sanji said while packing the remains of lunch, when it was his turn to pack Luffy's plate, he realized that not even half of the dish had been eaten ... huh, that was weird, putting that aside he couldn't help feeling a bit of pride for his captain, maybe he had finally understood one of the most basic aspects of Chivalry, the cook decided to put in an extra effort when preparing the captain's dinner, he had earned it.

…
The straw hats were already back on the angel beach. Luffy was showing the waver that they had found in Jaya to Pagaya. The Rubber Man asked him if he could repair it; he wanted to give it to his navigator as soon as possible; he had already ordered the rest of the crew prepare the Merry to sail, but as this happened, the white berets, the police force of Angel Island, approached them as they crawled.
"Inhabitants of the blue sea! You have illegally entered Skypiea!"
Conis, hearing this, could not help but feel a hole in his stomach. The angel did not want to believe what Captain McKinley was saying; he looked with concern at the pirates to see what they were saying.
"Don't worry Conis, we just didn't pay to get in," Luffy said, downplaying what the white beret had said.
"It's a class 11 crime to enter without paying. After paying the fine, you will be regular tourists," said McKinley.
"You see? No problem Conis, we just have to pay a fine," Luffy said, hoping that the price had changed too. He understood little about time travel, but something had to change, right?
"Uff… I had already been scared. How much is the fine?" Ussop asked with relief. Surely it was nothing serious.
"10 times the entrance fee per person" At this, Ussop's jaw dropped to the ground comically.
"70 billion?! How much is that in berries?"
"1 Berrie equals 10,000 Extol…" McKinley said. Ussop, trying to do the math, looked at Sanji and Robin for help.
"If the fine is 70 billion, that's 7 million berries," said the archaeologist, with a drop of sweat running down her forehead. They didn't have that amount of money. Nami wouldn´t be happy at all when they found her.
"Nami is going to kill us," the sniper thought with fear of the navigator.
"Shishishi! Too bad, we don't have a million" said Luffy laughing a little, sometimes things wouldn't go as one would like, he hoped to get out of this without getting into trouble as he had promised to Nami but they didn't have the money to get out of this situation, 2 years ago they were practically bankrupt, it was not until they reached the Sky Island that they accumulated wealth.
If he found the giant snake again, he would tell Nami that there was gold inside it, it would make her happy as the last time… thinking of Nami again, this moment should be when she returned, but he didn't see her with her Waver on the horizon, this was already worrying, they had to move now.
"If you don't pay, then your illegal status will worsen. The white berets act under the direct orders of God Enel. We'll have to arrest you," McKinley said as he looked at the Waver. "So you broke this waver, it's a vehicular infraction, a class 10 crime!"
"It's actually his property ..." Conis said as she looked worriedly at the straw hats. Why did the pirate captain look so distracted looking at the horizon? Was he because of his girlfriend?
"There should be no wavers in the world below. Stealing from SkyPiea is a class 9 crime!"
"Guys, we don't have time to lose. We must meet with Nami at once. We don't know if she's okay or not," Luffy said, completely ignoring the White Beret, causing McKinley to show a vein on his forehead. "Ignoring a public servant is a class 7 crime!" But when he said this, the straw hats were already following their captain heading to the ship.
"Hey! Wait! You are criminals! You are arrested! You can't just go away!" McKinley yelled angrily when he saw the ice treatment they gave him, but once again, he was ignored.
"Soldiers, take aim and prepare to shoot! We can't let any of them disrespect the law!" McKinley ordered.
"Please! Guys, listen to him!" Conis said as she alternated her gaze between the pirates and the sky to the latter as if she expected something to fall from it.
"So you want to try?" Luffy said without turning to see them. The atmosphere became tense. Some white berets staggered and took a step back.
"That pressure again" thought Zoro who was holding the handle of his swords, the swordsman was prepared for the attack, but apparently this would not be necessary, although they did not know what the enemy was capable of, he had the feeling that Luffy was going to fight them with little trouble, he was also curious to know what that "pressure" that came from their captain was, it was the same that they felt when the guy with the bazooka attacked them.
"Don't underestimate the white berets! You are just pirates!" McKinley said who was sweating, what he was feeling was not a normal "fear" but one like when you are in front of a natural disaster, but he wouldn't be intimidated so easily there was something worse That pressure or any idiot that came from the world below and that was 'God.'
"Shoot!"
Arrows were shot from the White Beret's Bows, all these arrows were directed towards the rubber-man who still didn't turn around. The straw hats tensed a bit, seeing how their captain seemed not to react or move before the arrows that were directed at him.
Zoro was looking at Luffy. He wanted to see what he was going to do.
Luffy without moving from where he was, moved in such a way that he could dodge the arrows, one arrow aimed at his head, he only inclined his head slightly, one more at his legs, he jumped, he did all this without looking at the white berets or the arrows that were shot at him.
"Wouldn't it be great to even predict the movements of your enemies with that?"
Zoro, seeing how Luffy dodged without seeing, looked at his captain with surprise and attention. How…? The swordsman recalled the talk he had had a while ago with Luffy about the 'voice' and the 'breathing of all things'.
Was that what the captain was referring to? Although it was like what he had done in Arabasta when he was aware of everything that was around him, what his captain did was on another level.
Unlike Zoro's battle against Mr 1, the rubber-man wasn't on death's door and it was also almost instantaneous. He didn't move until the arrows were about to touch him; he could dodge the projectiles without even turning around. Could he feel the arrows when he felt the air move when the arrows approached him?
If so, then why he didn't do it before? He had rarely seen him fight seriously against his enemies. Normally, Luffy would finish them quickly without giving them time to counterattack.
Maybe this 'predicting' was a new 'technique' that Luffy gained in his battle against Crocodile. Only Robin had seen that battle ... he really felt that he was underestimating the capabilities of his captain all this time.
In most of the trip on the Grand Line, Zoro had spent his time training to the extreme, so much so that he sometimes overlooked the captain's activities. Zoro thought he was just clowning around with Chopper and Ussop.
Was Luffy doing some kind of training he didn't know about? The swordsman decided to pay more attention to the captain's actions from that moment on. Perhaps he could learn a new thing or two from the rubber man.
Meanwhile Luffy was touching the cloud trails left by the arrows, the rubber man was thinking about his Observation Haki again, he was still at the most basic levels, he couldn't see into the future, not even for a second, when he trained with Rayleigh the Observation Haki, the dark king told him that at its most basic levels, Observation Haki wasn't about looking into the future, but about feeling and "hearing" immediate movements and attacks, about letting your body move as if it were being pushed by the wind, it no longer came natural as in the New World, now he had to concentrate and stay calm to do it, well, what could be done? The only solution was training.
Maybe he could start teaching the use Haki to his crew once and for all, especially to Ussop and Nami, although their role in the fights wasn't to be at the front, there could be a fight where they had no choice but to fight head-on.
Ussop was a long distance marksman and Nami resorted to controlling extensive areas with her Clima Tact from behind… but what would happen when that didn't work? Thinking back to the navigator and her unknown whereabouts, he decided it was time to end this fight.
Luffy turned to see the white berets that had been looking at him with a stunned face.
"Mantra?!" McKinley said surprised at seeing how the rubber man had dodged all the arrows without seeing, shook his head and saw his soldiers who were frozen when they saw the 'Mantra´, they still had traumas from when Enel and the Priests had defeated them years ago.
"Don't stand by! It doesn't matter if the enemy can use Mantra! We are more. He won't be able against all of us!" McKinley said, getting the rest of the white berets out of their astonishment.
"H-HAI!" the white berets shouted, finally reacting and starting off. The soldiers jumped towards the cloud trails and, with the dials they had, they headed at full speed towards Luffy.
Luffy looked curiously at the white berets. Huh, so they had courage, after all. Putting on a feral smile, he prepared for combat. If these soldiers dared to go with everything towards him, it would be disrespectful not to do the same.
Even if he couldn't use the Gear Second and the Armament Haki, it would be an insult to use the Conqueror Haki to knock them out in one go, unlike the original line this was not a simple beating that the white berets were going to give them but a test to See how easily he could give them a 'beating' with the experience he had gained after years of training.
Dodging the swords of the white berets, who were desperately trying to hit him, the rubber man jumped towards one of the palm trees away from the soldiers.
"How did he jump so high?!" said one soldier.
"Shishishi! I admire your bravery, so this is on behalf of the house!" said the rubber man animated by the fight.
"Gomu Gomu no…!" Luffy said, retracting his right arm.
"A devil fruit?!" McKinley yelled, surprised and terrified.
"Python!" He finished saying, his arm shot out in a straight line towards the nearest soldier hitting him directly in the face and knocking him out, but it didn't end there, after hitting him, his arm made a 90-degree turn and went to the left hitting the next soldier, knocking him out, Luffy's arm repeated the process...
One soldier reacted in time to avoid the blow. Using that time window, when the White Beret saw the arm changing direction, he wielded his sword, intending to cut off the rubber man's arm. Luffy reacting in time he simply launched an attack with his other arm.
"Gomu Gomu No Pistol!" The blow was at high speed, knocking out and stopping the white beret's attack.
"H-his arm! It stretched!" Conis exclaimed in amazement at seeing how Luffy had defeated the white berets. He did it with extreme ease.
McKinley's mouth was half open when he saw how his soldiers had been defeated so easily.
Luffy was frowning a little. That last blow with the 'Python' hadn't been fast enough, causing the last soldier to dodge it, and he couldn't move his arm as he wanted...
Unfortunately, the 'Python' was one technique of his 'Gears', he didn't lose power and speed when he used the Gear Second combined with the Gear Third ... and besides, he had to cover his arm with Haki ... in short it was a technique that he could use at his full potential if he used the Gear Fourth, and he was sure that his body would explode if he tried to test it ... well there was no reason to be discouraged, at least he already knew how far he could go with his current state.
Meanwhile, Sanji whistled when he saw the way he defeated those soldiers.
The cook had already got on the Merry with the others as they watched the fight with interest; he doubted that someone in this island could face the captain, but he could notice in this fight the way he faced them, normally the rubber-man went crazy with all confidence while he narrowly dodged what came close to him, but this time once he started dodging, how did he know where they were going to hit him?
Also, the way he executed that snake-like attack was almost perfectly accurate and efficient, the usual thing is that he would have taken longer to defeat them because the rubber man preferred fun, but this time he defeated the enemy in a matter of seconds.
Robin still had in mind the conversation the captain had with the swordsman earlier that day, predicting movements, at first she didn't think it was so literal what they were talking about, she assumed it was a concept among the warriors that practiced martial arts, Zoro as a swordsman and Luffy ... well as the rubber man that he was.
But on a second thought, if you took away the factor of his devil fruit, the way he punched and kicked was familiar to the archaeologist, that fighting position that Luffy made at the beginning of each fight…Robin had seen her somewhere, maybe before joining the straw hats, but she didn't know when and who had done it.
Although Robin was familiar with that fighting style, the way Luffy fought with the Gomu Gomu No Mi made that familiar style almost unrecognizable to the black-haired woman, and also even if she knew what martial art he was using, that didn't explain how he had predicted the trajectory of the arrows without seeing them.
Sound? The feeling of the wind? Instinct? Those things had never shown in his fight against Crocodile. Was it a new technique? How the hell was he able to predict attacks? She could hear that the sky soldier had shouted something about it ... "Mantra".
Was it the ability to predict movements? Hearing people's 'voices' and detecting their presence, so that was what his captain was referring to, remembering everything he had read or heard a word came to mind: 'Ambition', "only those with a great ambition have the power of kings", huh, where had she read that?
The archaeologist had many questions about Luffy; the captain had become an enigma since he woke up from his collapse ... his attitude was clearly familiar, unless fighting or confronting another person; he seemed much more firm.
Looking at Luffy again, who was stretching his arms as he watched the defeated opponents, she was thoughtful… Who would say that the Mister Captain might have mysteries behind that simple rubber appearance?.
"H-he defeated the white berets!" Pagaya said, stunned when he saw the soldiers lying in the clouds on the beach.
"How…?" Conis said impressed with her hands over her mouth, the angel was relieved that the rubber man had won, but she was trembling inside, it didn't matter if he could defeat the white berets, god's priests were far worse.
Captain McKinley, who had been left behind by Luffy, just stared at him.
"Fools! We are the most understanding guardians on this island! The priests will have no mercy! And they will crush you! You have become class 3 criminals!"
"Oi Luffy! Guys! What the heck just happened here?!" Nami had returned from her ride on the Waver, and was approaching the beach at full speed.
Luffy's heart filled with relief when he saw the navigator safe and sound. A smile formed that threatened to split his face in two.
*Vrooom*
"Oi Nami! It took you a while!" Luffy shouted, approaching the shore. He had every intention of receiving her with open arms.
"Luffy! Answer to me! Why are there a lot of bodies lying behind you?!" said the navigator in a slightly threatening tone, as Nami approached the scene was becoming clearer.
Hearing the tone of the navigator, Luffy involuntarily took a step back. Yes, it was true; the rubber man had promised not to get into trouble; he looked to the rest of the crew for help. In response, his nakama couldn't face him. They too feared Nami.
"Well?!" The navigator was almost touching land, or well the cloud, Luffy had to think of something quickly, his face lit up, he already had the perfect excuse, just like the last time.
"Oh! Nami, these guys wanted to charge us 7 million berries!" said the rubber man, pointing to McKinley.
* CRACK *
The sound that was heard caused Conis and her father, along with the rest of the hats, to shudder. A chill ran down their spines when they heard the Waver hitting the body of Captain McKinley.
"IT'S A SCAM! DON'T FUCK WITH ME!" Nami shouted, straightening up next to the vehicle in the clouds of the beach. Luffy released a drop of sweat when he saw this scene again. Nami, apart from hitting him with the waver, she gave him a kick.
"n-now Y-you are criminals of class o-one," said McKinley who was about to fall "L-let the jud-judgment of the heavens fall so-on you" he said as he tried to drag away from the navigator.
"Ah? Judgment of heaven?!" Nami said, alarmed. The orange-haired girl had lost control when the rubber man mentioned the part that they were going to charge money, so almost instinctively she collided with the waver with the soldier.
"Ah, that, for not paying the entrance fee we were fined, and for not paying the fine now, I think 'god' will judge us or something like that," Luffy said, summarizing what had happened.
"Nami ... I'm sorry, the problems caught up with me again" Luffy said putting a hand behind his head, he really wanted Nami to have a good time and not stress, he could easily have used the Conqueror's Haki to knock out those soldiers at once, but he couldn't resist testing the current state of his power, well he also guessed that it was inevitable to get into trouble since they set foot on SkyPiea.
"Well, that doesn't matter anymore! We have been deceived since we entered! We must get out of here!"
"Your girlfriend is right! You must get out of here! You are already criminals here! Please run away before they come looking for you!" said Conis, who was speaking to them from afar.
"I-I'm not his girlfriend! And why did you get so far?!" said the navigator, again embarrassed. It was the second time in the day that someone said that.
"I don't think they can run away so easily Conis, even if they reached Cloud End," Pagaya said, looking up at the sky. "The situation became complicated. I believe we can no longer help them,"
"Well, if that's the case, it doesn't matter where we go. The only thing left is to sail forward!" Nami said as she calmed down, then turned to see Conis again. "Thank you very much for her hospitality and also for letting me use the waver."
Then she turned away, and grabbed Luffy´s hand.
"I'm glad that you have returned safely Nami, we were going to find you" said the rubber man to his navigator, Luffy was relieved that Nami had returned in the waver just like the first time, what worried him a little was that It would have taken a little longer.
"And how was your adventure?"
"Adventure?! That wasn't an adventure! There was an entire island full of giant trees! And there were scary guys too!" Nami said as she pulled Luffy towards the boat.
Luffy was curious about the last thing the navigator had said, in the original line he had only faced the ball guy, the square bull (Wiper), and Enel, his nakama had faced the other priests, he never saw them, what had terrified Nami so much? Did she see Enel?
Getting a little more serious, he asked his navigator.
" Did something happen when you went to that island?"
"Too many things! When I got closer to see those giant trees, I heard the screams of people fleeing. Some strange guys and a giant dog were chasing them," said Nami, remembering what she had seen.
"A giant dog?" Luffy said, tilting his head to the side. Nami sighed. Of course, that would be what her captain would focus on.
"Yes, a giant dog, but that's not what matters, the guy that was escaping," Nami gulped at that point "I don't know if it was lightning, lightning shouldn't behave like that, I had never seen a destructive power like that, there was nothing left," said the orange-haired girl with a dark expression on her face.
Luffy frowned at what the navigator said.
"Did you meet that guy again?" Luffy said, thinking of the self-proclaimed God. He asked, more to himself than to the navigator. The rubber man clenched a fist, thinking of Enel, the last time he had hurt most of his crew.
"That guy?" said Nami, puzzled by the lack of clarity in her captain's question. Her confusion left when she remembered the guerrilla who attacked them.
"Ah, also the guerrilla from a while ago was there! He attacked me with his bazooka! It almost killed me!" said the navigator when she remembered her flight from that place. Apparently, the guerrilla wanted revenge on her for not being able to attack her on the ship that day.
"The square bull again? One more reason to go to that place. I'm going to kick his ass," said the rubber man while he cracked his knuckles.
" Wait! That's not the point! We have to get out of here!" said the navigator. They had finally approached the Merry.
"Oi Nami! Is there any way to get off this island?" Ussop said nervously from the deck of the Merry.
"You heard what the Angel-San said, that even if we reached the exit, we couldn't escape" said the archaeologist as she looked at the pair of angels muttering nervously between them, she had already seen that attitude enough times in her life, people who they acted too hospitable to be true, only to later stab you in the back and then sell you to your enemies.
"Robin… Are you okay?" Chopper asked him when he saw the expression that the black-haired woman put on her face.
"It's nothing, only a bad memory came to mind," said the archaeologist, offering a smile to the doctor. Although Chopper calmed down a bit, the reindeer couldn't help thinking that something was wrong with Robin.
"So there is no way out of here?!" said the sniper, returning to the subject of escape.
"Maybe not in a 'normal' way, but this is a sea of clouds, another ocean, there must be some way," said the navigator in a determined way, the Grand Line had not defeated her in the blue sea, and certainly it would not defeat her in this white sea.
"We still can't leave," said the rubber man calmly as he observed the landscape of the Sky Island.
"What?! Why?!" said the navigator, horrified at what the captain said.
"We still have to find the gold city. That's why we came here, right?" Luffy said, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. At this, Nami bit her lip. It was true, the city of gold. For a moment, her greed almost beat her fear for what she saw in Upper Yard.
"Luffy, as much as I like the promise of an entire city made of gold ... we don't know if it exists. What we know is the existence of that lightning," said the navigator while she shuffled in her mind the options they had.
"I don't think you can make him change his mind, Nami," Ussop said, resigned to his fate. Now it was impossible not to step on Upper Yard. His captain was ready to go.
"If they are the orders of Mister Captain, then we have to follow them" said the archaeologist with a half-smile, Robin didn't expect to find a city of gold, but perhaps there was something worth investigating on the island of heaven, perhaps it was still possible to continue with her dream ...
"Yep, there is no other option but to go to Upper Yard, we also have to let the chestnut head and those two monkeys know that not only the Sky Island exists but also the gold city," said the rubber man while pointing to the beach and the rest of the sky island.
Nami puffed out her cheeks as she crossed her arms. Why did her captain have such a big heart? Wasn't it enough to tell Mont Blanc Cricket and those two monkeys that the sky island existed? And also how they were they going to inform them? The navigator sighed. "You better hope it has mountains of gold. I feel that this won't be easy"
The rubber man smiled at hearing that answer. "It wouldn't be an adventure if it were easy"
"This 'adventure' will end if that lightning hits us," said the navigator, reminding her captain of what she saw.
"Nami ... I won't let some lightning reach you. I will protect you with my life," said the rubber man seriously. The navigator blushed when she heard this.
"Nami, you are my nakama!"
The orange haired shook her head as she remembered that moment again. "I-I already know that, silly ... but what will happen if you get hurt?" Nami said, looking away.
"That lightning will do nothing to me, Nami," Luffy said, looking at the surprised navigator, didn't Nami know about these things?
"Nami-swan, I'll protect you with my life too, also you Robin-chwaan!" The cook interrupted the conversation by doing his octopus dance with a heart in his visible eye.
"Shut up, it doesn't sound good from you!" Zoro said, annoyed by Sanji's interruption.
"What did you say, marimo?!" The two had gotten into a mini-fight ... again.
"Putting aside the antics of those two ... How is he not going to do anything to you?" That lightning literally made a hole in that island- Nami said, worried about Luffy. She didn't want him to do something stupid if she was in danger.
"Nami, I'm a rubber-man," Luffy said with a poker face.
"Rubber? And What does have—?" The navigator was interrupted when she was splashed next to her captain by the water from the clouds, these were shaken by something that had emerged from the water.
"MERRY! NOT AGAIN!" Ussop yelled as he saw pincers much larger than the speed shrimp grab Merry by the sides of her, doing her a bit of damage.
"What the hell?!" Zoro said, grabbing onto the rail of the Merry.
"WAAAAHH!" Shouted Chopper, almost falling off the boat. Luckily, Robin with her devil's fruit could stop him from falling.
"And that giant crab?!" Nami said when she saw how it grabbed the Merry. The crab had the word 'God' on its shell.
"The speedy crab!" He is going to take them to Upper Yard!" Pagaya said when he saw the beast from the sky.
"Shit" Luffy thought alarmed, that little detail had escaped him, the rubber man acting quickly wrapped one of his arms around Nami's waist while stretching the other arm towards the Merry, only they were missing to get on the boat.
Just when his fingers touched the rail of the Merry and he could hold on, Sanji kicked his hand, causing it to loosen.
"Sanji?!" exclaimed the rubber man, stunned.
"Luffy! You take care of Nami-san! I'll take care of Robin-chan and the others!" said the cook, Sanji had made this decision in that he heard what the angel said, as the captain and the navigator were still on the beach, so he decided he could trust that they would go look for them if this crab took them somewhere kind of trap.
The crab sped the Merry off towards the Upper Yard.
Nami had gaped comically as she stared at the place where the Merry was a few seconds ago, only to react and then head over to where the angel was.
"How come they are taking them to Upper Yard?!" said the navigator as she grabbed the neck of Conis's dress.
"Nami, let them explain," said the rubber man as he took the orange-haired girl by the hand.
"How can you be so calm?! A giant crab just took the Merry and everyone inside!" said the angry navigator with shark teeth.
"Trust Zoro and Sanji, also Robin can fight, and Ussop and Chopper are stronger than they appear," said Luffy with a drop of sweat running down his forehead.
Conis was looking at the ground. The angel was trying to find something to say, but the words just didn't form in her mouth. These people were going to die and worst of all, she had called the crab. Pagaya spoke for her daughter.
"T-That crab is a servant of God. Everything he carries becomes a sacrifice of God Enel," Pagaya said darkly. "It took them to the northeast part of Upper Yard, to the 'altar of sacrifices',"
Nami gave a long sigh. She knew that something like this was going to happen eventually, knowing the luck of this crew and especially that of its captain ... looking at Pagaya again, she asked more calmly.
"What are they going to do to our nakama?" Nami said, looking seriously at the bearded man.
"I have heard a little about that ... there are two types of sentence for criminals, one is 'sacrifice', the other is 'trial'."
"Your friends more than sacrifices are now prisoners of Upper Yard. That means that you will go through the test. The priests will judge you," he said as he looked in the direction where Upper Yard was located.
"Those priests won't be a problem. I don't think there's anyone on this island who can beat me," Luffy said as he stretched out his arms. Conis stared at him. Was he arrogant? Once he saw the power of god, he surely wouldn't say the same. This, she thought to her as she grabbed one arm and bit her lip.
"To get to our nakama we first have to go through that test, right?" said the rubber man while looking at Conis. She nodded. Luffy then looked at his navigator. "Nami. Could you take me to that place?" Luffy said as he extended the palm of his hand towards the orange hair.
"Of course I can, there is no island I can't take you to," Nami said as she clashed her own hand against the rubber man's. "But first we need a map"
Nami was thoughtful about this, so from the beginning there was no way to avoid going to Upper Yard. It was time to get to work. The orange-haired girl grabbed a fallen branch that was near one of the palm trees, luckily the SkyPiea map they had found near Jaya had been memorized by her, at least the most important things that she could see, it was a pity that she had left it on the ship.
With the piece of branch, she traced on the ground what she had memorized on the map. The angels saw with curiosity what the navigator was doing, until little by little they recognized the island that she was drawing, SkyPiea. Luffy couldn't help but feel pride for Nami, for something she was the navigator of the crew of the future king of the pirates.
"Conis-san, Pagaya-san. Does this map match the island?"
"Y-yes," Pagaya answered impressed, the drawing was exactly like some of the old maps he had seen. "This building in the northeast is the altar?" said the navigator, pointing to the drawing.
"If it's the altar, just the only problem is that the map is old, it doesn't consider the Milky Roads"
Nami looked curiously at the last thing the bearded man said," The artificial cloud paths that have been made along over the years"
"So you can navigate within the island," said the navigator, looking at Pagaya's waver and the waver that they had found in Jaya.
"How do we get to the Milky Roads?"
"I-I can take you there, I know a way to get to the main Milky Road" said Conis, who was shaking a little, Nami narrowed her gaze a little at the angel's attitude, Luffy said she wasn't an enemy, but still ...
"Captain, The Course?" said the navigator, turning to her captain. She only needed Luffy's confirmation.
"To Upper Yard," replied the rubber man as he smiled.

…
Yamato took a deep breath of fresh air. When was the last time she had breathed fresh air? The last time she could see the blue sky? Onigashima wasn't exactly the example of an island paradise ... Kaido's 'son' couldn't help but feel butterflies in her stomach. Was this what Oden felt when he left Wano?
For the first time in a long time, she was free to do whatever she wanted. Luffy had given her freedom by removing the explosive handcuffs. She felt good not having that weight in her hands.
There was also the fact that her memories were all a mess. There weren't entirely clear. Where is she supposed to be? Sneakily reading Oden's travel log for the umpteenth time 2 years ago? Or fighting for the survival of Mrs. Shinobu and Momo? Had she gone back in time? She felt a twinge of pain in her head every time she tried to discern what exactly had happened.
Seeing where she was, she didn't know how she had come to this place, she was in her father's fortress at one point fighting alongside Luffy's allies only for everything to turn white afterwards ... white and whiter ... for a moment she thought that the crew of her "Father" had finally hunted her down and put an end to her life, but it was not like that, instead she was on this "island" totally different from everything Yamato had seen in her life, she didn't even know if she was on an island ... because of the lack of oxygen, perhaps she was in a very high place.
The white-haired woman couldn't help but marvel at the landscape of the giant trees that she was seeing ... she didn't remember seeing so much green ... she had to check Oden's travel log, she remembered having read something familiar in that book; she was lucky that she had it hidden in her clothes. That little book was one of her most precious possessions.
Yes, she could consult the book, but why not ask the little girl she was carrying on her shoulders.
Yamato was taking her to her village. The little girl said that she was leading them out of this forest, that beyond this place was her home.
"Ai-chan, do you know which island we are on?" said the white-haired woman as she walked on one root of the gigantic trees.
Aisa didn't know what to think of the white-haired warrior, it was practically a miracle that she had saved her at the last moment, the voice of the white-haired woman ... it was so clear to hear, it was strong, how had she not heard such a voice?
The presence that the white-haired girl emitted was gigantic, literally and figuratively. Seriously, how could a person be so tall? The little angel felt self-conscious about her height ... removing those thoughts from her mind as she focused on Oden-chan's question. Now she was also getting more doubts about this giant woman.
She didn't where she was? How had she gotten here? The 'Kozuki Oden' had said that she was from a place called Onigashima ... that she was near another place called Wano ...
"Oden-chan… we are on the Sky Island, Skypiea" said the little angel shyly. She didn't want to disturb her savior.
"The Sky Island?! Like Oden's?!" said the self-proclaimed Kozuki Oden with surprise and growing amazement.
At this, Aisa tilted her head with confusion on her face. Oden's Island? Was she referring to this island as hers?
Without waiting for Aisa's response, Yamato laughed when she finally recognized the landscape. It matched the descriptions in Oden's travel log. Yes, this was the island that was above the clouds, SkyPiea. Yamato stopped short when she realized something.
"The golden bell! The golden bell is here! Oden's words! I have to see them!" Yamato said as she shot forward, obviously not knowing where she was going.
"Wait! Oden-chan! Is there another Oden?! And what bell?!" said the little angel as she clung to Yamato's horns. She accelerate her speed as the emotions grew inside her.
"There's only one Oden! And I aspire to be someone like him! Oden was here years ago and engraved a few words on a golden bell! I want to know what he wrote!" Yamato said, as she sped up her pace even more.
Earlier that day Yamato was fighting for her freedom ... for the freedom of Wano ... she didn't feel concern or urgency to reach Onigashima where her new allies were, she felt she had all the time in the world, that there was still a long way to go, for that moment to come again.
Was it her instincts? Or was it hope? She didn't know. The only thing Yamato knew was that the sensations she was experiencing felt as if she were in a dream.
Aisa was going to ask what she meant when she said there was only one Oden. Hadn't she introduced herself as Oden? But when she was about to open her mouth, she felt a voice approaching at high speed to where they were; it was not coming by land; it was coming through the air.
Aisa opened her eyes in alarm. It was Shura.
"Oden-chan! I don't know which bell you're talking about, but now is not the time to look for it! We have to get back to my village as soon as possible! Shura is approaching. He is one priest of Enel!" Aisa said, trying to convince Yamato to flee.
Yamato was still running in the same direction.
"Shura? Is he some kind of warrior?" Yamato asked Aisa, the self-proclaimed Kozuki Oden was curious how she knew Aisa that she was approaching someone. Did the girl possess Observation Haki?
"Yes! he is a bad person! And the worst part is that he is one of the strongest in SkyPiea!" Aisa said scared, Shura was getting even closer.
Yamato, upon hearing what Aisa said, stopped again, huh, so the little angel was afraid of this "warrior" and also said that he was a bad person…
This was an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of her idol!
"A bad person? Then I will protect you! If I am Oden, then you are my Momo!"
"Eh?!" It was the only word that Aisa could articulate before. What was a 'Momo'?!
Reacting, the little angel exclaimed, "Shura is too strong! Not even Wiper can fight alone! We must flee!"
"Run away? Kozuki Oden wouldn't do something like that," Yamato said with a smile as she felt this "Shura" that Aisa was referring to.
"Momo, hold on tight. This is going to be tough!"
Yamato jumped in the enemy's direction.
"I already told you my name is AisaaaaAAAAAAAA!" shouted the little angel as she clung to Yamato as tightly as possible at the tremendous jump she took. Shura was within Yamato's visual range. He was a middle-aged man who was dressed as an aviator, he was riding on a half strange giant bird.
"Raimei Hakke!"
Yamato, in the middle of her jump, swung her steel staff horizontally, the kanabo. She prepared to hit the sky rider. Unfortunately, she lacked power and was losing speed, this made Shura able to dodge it in time. When Yamato landed on one branch of the giant trees, she frowned.
Her attack lacked power and her jump height ... since she arrived at this place, she didn't feel the same. She even felt shorter ... Did she turn weaker?
Meanwhile, Shura didn't stop sweating. An enemy had appeared to him which almost killed him with one blow, had it not been for the "Mantra" ... the rider shook those thoughts from his head.
"So a blue sea dweller escaped! That's quite an achievement for your class!" said the sky rider arrogantly. Even if someone had escaped from the other priests and caught him off guard, she was no match against the best warriors of God.
"And look at what thing you have on your head, a little shandian rat!"
"Nari Kabura!"
Yamato had not wasted time listening to the priest's taunts, she simply swung the Kanabo again as if it were a baseball bat, the white-haired girl had unleashed a projectile of pure Haki, this projectile was so fast that even with the Mantra Shura couldn't predict its arrival.
She hit him squarely, sending him flying with his bird. The impact was such that it left a trail of destroyed trees.
Aisa gaped at the destruction caused by the white-haired woman. Oden-chan had defeated Shura! And that attack! She couldn't even see Shura's body from so far that she sent him flying!
"huh, my attack lacked strength," Yamato said as she contemplated the Kanabo in her hands. Her body seemed not to want to obey her mind.
"What do you mean you lack strength?!" Aisa said in surprise as her eyes widened comically.
"I almost forgot that you were on my shoulders. How are you so small?" Yamato said, remembering that she had promised to take her to her village.
"My apologies Ai-chan. I got too excited when I recognized the island where I was and when I found people willing to fight, well, although in the end this 'Shura' didn't end up being threatening. Ai-chan, I will take you to your town as soon as possible. Then I will go in search of the golden bell"
"But first, I have to tell you something important," said the white-haired woman as she looked into the distance, thanks to the destruction she caused she could see a path of clouds, the milky roads, just as Oden had described them in his book.
"When I found you I introduced myself with the name of whom I admire and to become that man I borrowed his name ... but in reality I am the son of someone despicable and the heir of something even worse ..." The white-haired woman said this thinking about everything in Onigashima.
Aisa looked with concern and curiosity at the white-haired woman. After everything that the white-haired woman had done for her, it didn't matter if she was the daughter of someone evil; the actions of her parents didn't define her ... Or was she a son as she had said? Well, that didn't matter. She was no one to question the warrior at the moment.
"But… How can I become Oden if I'm not proud of my name? That's why I present myself to you again," Yamato continued as he raised his head.
"My real name is Yamato!" She said with all the pride she could muster. It felt like it lifted a weight from her.
Aisa was silent for a few moments, processing what the newly named Yamato had just said. For a few moments, the white-haired woman thought that she was going to get a negative reaction.
"Yamato… Oden… it doesn't matter what your name is and if your parents are bad, you already proved that you are a great person! No! A great big sister!" said Aisa, the little angel's admiration for Yamato hadn't stopped growing throughout the day. She wasn´t only powerful but also a good person; she was even carrying her all this time.
" Great Big sister?!" Yamato thought with a slight blush. Maybe Aisa couldn't be her Momo ... but a little sister? Her heart raced at this thought. She never had brothers or sisters.
"Then I will do my best to get you to your village as quickly as possible!" Yamato said trying to get those thoughts out of her mind, they were too confusing, she started walking again in the direction that Aisa had told him earlier that day, curiously coinciding with the path of destruction that it had caused and the milky road that was in front of them.
…
…
…
There was a comfortable silence between the 'demon' and the 'angel' as they made their way to their destination.
Yamato was reviewing what she had learned today, the more she thought about it the more likely it was that she had gone back in time, the clues were too many, first ... her memories told her that at that moment she was supposed to be in Onigashima, second ... her body seemed to be out of sync with her mind, she could see that when she fought against Shura, third ... now that she thought about it, she felt that her height was not the same as always and also her hair was shorter than usual, Yamato only remembered having that appearance two years ago.
If she had really gone back in time ... Then why was she not in Onigashima? Why was she on the Sky Island? She supposed she had to make the most of this opportunity; it was like a miracle. She no longer had her father's lackeys supervising every move she made ... she was free ... Should she look for Luffy and try to get on his ship? Of course, she still had to open the borders of Wano in the future and help Momo… but for that she needed nakama.
And just as if she had summoned them ...
* Fwossssssssh *
Yamato, upon hearing that sound, turned to see where it came from. It came from one end of the Milky Road that was visible. Something was coming. She stopped to see what it was.
Aisa couldn't help feeling a little nervous. Various presences were coming at great speed, but she also felt excited. Now what feat was Yamato going to do?
It was a ship that was speeding down the milky road; it was being carried by… A giant crab?
Yamato showed confusion on her face at this event, but just when he stepped in front of her he could see that a skull with a… Straw Hat?!
The ship disappeared to the other end of the milky road ...
It took a few seconds for the white-haired woman to process what had just happened. She immediately chased the ship, following the direction of the Milky Road.
"Great big sister?! Now where are we going?!" Aisa asked, alarmed at the change of direction.
"I'm sorry Ai-chan! But we will take a brief detour! I think I just found my nakama!" Yamato said as she tried to locate Luffy or his crew with her Haki.
Aisa couldn't stop a bead of sweat from running down her forehead. She was going to be extremely late to her village. Laki was going to be furious.

Author's note:
So… it was readable? Did you like it? Or you didn´t?
The monologues were unnecessary? Or it complemented the plot?
Well, I don´t know. The reason I put these pseudo-monologues is because I don´t like in a story quasi-void characters (Well, I can´t say that for this fic, it could be bad for I all know)
Shaking those thoughts off…
Thanks for the reviews! I hope you stay tuned through this "adventure" called fanfiction!
BYE-BYE BABY!
