Adventures Through Time
Note: Some of the details in this story may not correlate to information given in the movies or series, it's just something I think could be a possibility.
Besides, it's my story and I can do what I want so…:p
It was a beautiful evening on Berk when Hiccup, Astrid and Toothless decided to head down into a cave located at one of the large edges of the island. Stormfly wasn't feeling well that day, so she was left under the care of Astrid's parents while she was out with Hiccup.
The three of them took a few hours to get to the cave because Hiccup insisted on walking there, even though Toothless was right there, as he felt they needed the exercise, something that he soon regretted considering his metal leg.
Once inside the cave, Hiccup had Toothless light up a lantern that he brought as they begin exploring. After going through the cave for about an hour, Astrid complains, "Hiccup, can we turn back now? I think my legs are about to give out, plus it's starting to get dark."
Hiccup replies, "Which is a good thing we have an endless supply of 'lighter gel' for my lantern." He gestures to Toothless who was also looking tired from all the walking. "Besides, I think I hear something up ahead."
Sure enough, up ahead they heard a sound that was quite unfamiliar to them, almost like Toothless when he charges his Plasma Blast but it never changes pitch.
Moments later, they also begin to notice a mysterious purple glow coming from around a corner of the cave. They turn the corner and couldn't quite believe what they were looking at. In front of them was some kind of counter-clockwise spinning, purple portal.
Hiccup blinks as he sees the portal before commenting. "Whoa…"
Toothless stares at the glowing circle in total confusion as Astrid asks, "What…is that?"
Hiccup steps up to where he's just a foot away from the portal. "It looks like some kind of…portal, but where does it go?" Hiccup reaches his hand up in an attempt to touch it when Astrid stops him.
"Wait, you're going to touch it? You don't know what's on the other side of that thing!" Astrid states. Toothless grunts a similar concern as he would hate to see something bad happening to his Hiccup.
Hiccup shrugs. "Whatever it is, I'm sure we'll be able to handle it."
Astrid then suggests. "We should go get Stoick. Or Fishlegs or anyone who would know about a portal like this."
Hiccup asks, "What if we bring them here and this portal is suddenly gone?" That did leave Astrid speechless. "Look, it's simple, we go in, and if things get hairy, we can just come back, got it?"
Astrid could see the look of determination in Hiccup's eyes, the look that basically means 'I'm doing this no matter what anyone thinks.' She looks down to Toothless who was still not 100% sure as to what is going on, but could also see the look in Hiccup's eyes, so he shrugs to Astrid and Astrid looks back to Hiccup to state, "Ok, fine, we'll go."
Hiccup nods. "That's more like it. I'm sure it will be fine." Hiccup takes another deep breath and reaches his arm out and dips his fingers inside the portal, feeling the energy surround his fingers and give them a slight tingle. Hiccup pulls his fingers back to see that they're still intact, so he takes a leap forward and goes into the portal, feeling that same tingle all over his body. This was followed by Astrid and Toothless doing the same thing.
Once on the other side of the portal, Hiccup looks around to see that they are in…the same cave they were just in, only looking back he saw that the portal was now spinning clockwise. Thinking nothing of it, Hiccup looks back to Astrid and says, "Well, so far so good. Let's go."
It was already dark by that point, so, with the help of Toothless flying through the wide walls of the cave and using his sonar ability to navigate, they make it out of the cave in a fraction of the time it took to get to where they saw the portal.
Toothless gets into the sky and takes the two humans around the edge of the island that Berk sits on, blending in perfectly with the night sky as he naturally does, when, once turning the corner of the island, they soon noticed something off. "Hey, where are all the dragons?" Astrid asks.
Hiccup looks down to Berk and realizes she is right. Normally, there's a decent handful of dragons roaming the streets of Berk looking for a spot to sleep, but this did not seem to be the case. "Huh." Hiccup comments. "Maybe they decided to sleep somewhere else."
Astrid shakes her head to that. "Something's off, Hiccup." Seconds later, they spot a group of dragons, a mix of Gronckles, Nadders and a few Zipplebacks coming in to Berk.
"Well, there's some dragons." Hiccup comments.
Astrid squints a bit and replies, "I don't know if they're coming in to rest, Hiccup."
Minutes later, her suspicions were confirmed as Berk's war alarm sounded loud enough for Hiccup and Astrid to hear from above. Hiccup has Toothless land just outside Berk's perimeter as they get a feel of what's going on.
Out of nowhere, people began exiting their homes and had various weapons raised towards the dragons where were sweeping in and stealing whatever animals they could get their talons on. Hiccup asks, "What? Wait, I thought the war against dragons was over."
Astrid then comments, "That's not the only weird thing. Look." They look over and see Gobber running with two hands attached to his arms. Astrid comments, "When was the last time you saw Gobber with two hands? I'll tell you, never."
Hiccup puts the pieces together in his mind and that's when it all occurred to him. "The portal. I-it's some kind of time traveling portal. We went through it and now we've gone back in time!"
Astrid asks, "But how is that possible? How does a time traveling portal just randomly appear in a cave on Berk? Also, what time are we even in?"
Hiccup replies, "We better get a closer look." They begin to step forward with Toothless behind them, but Hiccup looks back to Toothless and states, "Whoa, bud. You should definitely stay hidden." Toothless looks concerned. "We're not in our normal time, dragons aren't our friends here, heck, no one has even seen a Night Fury yet, so imagine how they'd react to seeing you." Toothless looked to the dragon carnage going on in front of him and understood, so he slips off and goes deeper into the forest. Hiccup calls out, "Head to the cove, we'll get you when we're done here!"
Toothless grunted that he heard that as, seconds later, the two of them hear a familiar voice nearby. "AY!" They turn around to see Gobber shouting to them. "The bloody hell ah you two doing just sitting there?! We got dragons to fight!" he says as he dashes into the flaming chaos.
Hiccup and Astrid bolt out of the bushes as Astrid looks over and snatches an axe from a nearby stand. Hiccup asks, "What are you doing?"
Astrid shrugs. "I gotta defend myself somehow." True to the word, just then a blue Monstrous Nightmare comes in with its mouth wide open, going right for Astrid. Astrid raises her axe, but Hiccup pulls her out of the way and into a nearby alley. Astrid asks, "What are you doing?"
Hiccup replies, "Stopping you from doing something idiotic. Look, don't you know anything about time travel?"
Astrid stammers a bit. "Do YOU?!"
Hiccup nods. "I read about it in an old book that Fishlegs has. Anything that we do now could have a drastic effect on the future, OUR future!"
The side of a building then explodes from a Gronckle coming in and blasting that area. Astrid comments, "Well, we won't even HAVE a future if we just stand here!"
Hiccup soon comes up with an idea. "The mess hall!" Astrid nods and they dash towards the large hall. As soon as they got to the steps, a tan colored Stormcutter drops down right in front of them, though it didn't even seem like it wanted to attack them as it just stared at them. Hiccup gullps but then recognizes the dragon, "…Cloudjumper?"
However, the Stormcutter then receives a hammer to the head as it spreads its four wings and flies away. Hiccup and Astrid take that chance to continue running. They climb up to the steps to the mostly intact hall as they look down at the war. Hiccup sighs, "Man, I thought I'd never see the day when Berk and the dragons would be fighting again."
Astrid reminds him, "This isn't our time, though. Besides, growing up, we didn't know any better either."
Hiccup then looks up at the black of the sky and comments, "All of which changed after that one in a million chance that I took."
Astrid pats Hiccup on the arm as she knew exactly what he was talking about. "You know, you and Toothless are the same age, so he's not even born yet either."
Hiccup nods. "Yeah, that's right. Still, can't help but wonder what would happen if literally anybody else took that shot."
Astrid holds Hiccup closer and reminds him, "But no one else did. It's all because of you that I now know how wonderful dragons are."
Hiccup smiles to that and the two of them kiss as another explosion happens nearby. Astrid then asks, "So, what do we do now?"
Hiccup looks and sees that the dragons are retreating, so he replies, "Let's just stay here for the night. We'll find Toothless in the morning then we'll get out of here."
Astrid nods but looks to her left. "Uh…I don't think we'll need to go looking for Toothless."
Hiccup looks to his right and sees the glowing green eyes he's come to know so well over the years. "Toothless? I thought I told you to go to the cove." Toothless grunts in response.
Hiccup rolls his eyes as Astrid chuckles. "Aww, he wanted to make sure you're ok."
Hiccup reminds her, "Yeah, in a time where he'd get shot if anyone sees him." He groans. "Fine, we'll all stay here the night then get back to the portal in the morning." Astrid and Toothless agree to the plan so the two humans cuddle up under the wrap of Toothless's wing.
The next morning, the trio wake up to find that it was already light out. Hiccup looks back to Toothless then to the empty great hall and comments, "Guys. Guys, wake up, we're burning daylight."
Astrid grumbles, "No, Mom, five more minutes."
Hiccup rolls his eyes. "Snotlout has your diary."
Astrid then jerks up. "That rat better not read about the one secret I've never told anyone, not even you, Hiccup…" the tension in the room was so thick you could cut it with Toothless's tongue. "…well, this is awkward."
He then looks to Toothless, who had woken as well, and says, "Ok, we need to go now."
Hiccup peeks out the door and sees that no one was there, in fact Berk seemed a lot more quiet than normal but Hiccup thought nothing of it. In a swift move, Toothless dives into the section of the forest in the outskirts of Berk closest to the great hall and Hiccup and Astrid follow him. It was then that they heard the same voice calling to them. "Hey! What are you two doing over there? Come one, the ceremony just started!" Said Gobber as he was heading into town.
Hiccup and Astrid figured this could be anything, so they follow him. They all head down to a cliff that was overlooking the ocean from Berk and stood on the cliff was a very broad man who seemed to be wrapping up some form of speech. "…and with that, it is with great honor that I welcome your new chief. Please give a round of applause for…Stoick the Vast!"
It was then that a just-as large, red bearded man steps up and bows to the crowd. "Thank you, thank you all for your support. It will be a great honor serving you all."
Hiccup stood there and simply comments, "…Dad." As the last time he saw his father was when he was loaded onto the ship that they sent adrift after the man died.
Astrid holds Hiccup's arm closer as she comments, "Well, at least now we know what year we're in. It's the day that your dad became chief! How amazing is this that we get to witness this first hand?"
Hiccup smiled and replies, "Feels pretty good, actually."
Stoick wraps up his own speech with, "…there are going to be some changes around here, but rest assured, I will make sure you all feel safe and protected, especially from the hideous, scaled beasts that plague our village time after time."
The crowd of Berkians cheer to that comment as Hiccup groans. Astrid nudges Hiccup's arm and reminds him, "You were once the same way."
Hiccup rolls his eyes. "That doesn't change who I am now…later…ah, you get it."
Stoick then adds, "But tonight, we celebrate this wondrous occasion!" The crowd cheers even louder to that.
It was then that Hiccup felt Astrid tug at his arm, indicating that it was time to go. They begin to walk off into the part of the woods where Toothless ran off to before Hiccup looked back down on the crowd. Astrid looks up to Hiccup and asks, "What is it? We have to go."
Hiccup shrugs. "I…think I'm going to stay just a little longer."
Astrid then hits Hiccup in the arm. "Hiccup, we don't belong here, this isn't our time. Besides, you said it yourself, anything we do now could drastically affect the future. We need to go."
Hiccup heard what Astrid was saying, but decided that this was still a unique opportunity to see the world before his time, so he replies, "Let's just stay through this celebration. Having a little bit of fun couldn't hurt, right?"
Again, Astrid could see that there was no stopping Hiccup, so she replies, "Fine. I'll go let Toothless know that he's going to have to wait a bit longer." She goes off to do just that.
Said celebration was going on all over Berk, with just about every resident laughing, dancing and playing some kind of music. At the heart of all this celebration was Stoick's house on the hill in front of the great hall.
Hiccup and Astrid walk up to the house as Astrid points out, "Sure is early to be having a party like this."
Hiccup replies, "Don't you remember? The dragons would only attack at night, so any festivals, parties or celebrations had to happen during the day."
Astrid nods. "Oh yeah, that's right." The two of them make their way inside the house as they see Stoick standing there, shaking the beefy hands of those who were congratulating him. Hiccup was about to go up and do the same when Astrid stops him, "Uh, what are you doing?"
Hiccup replies, "Giving thanks to the new chief."
Astrid reminds him, "Anything we do could affect the future, remember?"
Hiccup shrugs to that. "I'm sure shaking one hand isn't going to affect much. Come on, quit being scared." He goes up to Stoick and extends his hand, "Hey, uh, congrats Da-chief. Da chief, which is you. Heh."
Stoick shakes Hiccup's small hand with enough strength to make bones pop as he stares Hiccup down for a moment. Hiccup asks, "Uh…is there something wrong?"
Stoick raises a brow. "Do I…know you?"
Hiccup glances from side to side as he stammers, "Uh…wh-why? Uh…" he looks back to Astrid and whispers, "Little help please?"
Astrid gives a light chuckle. "Oh no, I'm enjoying this too much."
Stoick stares Hiccup down a bit more before stating, "I ask because I don't believe I've seen you around Berk before. Though, I suppose with a…how do I put this?"
Hiccup knew just what the big man was talking about, so he closes his eyes and conjures up several memories of his pre-Toothless days. "Fishbone figure?" He heard Astrid try to contain her laughter right behind him.
Stoick gives a shrug and replies, "I was going to say slim, but fishbone works too. Anyway, I suppose with a figure like yours it would be easy to miss you amongst us larger crowd. What exactly is your name?"
Hiccup blinks to the question. "My name? Oh…right, it's, uh…Puccih. Yeah, Puccih…Pollock." He could hear that Astrid was choking herself in an attempt to not laugh. In his mind, he wondered why he even thought he needed the fake name, especially since Stoick definitely didn't know him up till that point. He thought that maybe he could say it was a mistake.
Stoick, however, raises the brow that wasn't already up as he clarifies, "Puccih?" He stares Hiccup down a bit more before shrugging. "Well, Puccih, It's a pleasure." Too late, the name is now cemented. Stoick then looks down and comments, "Hey, what happened to your leg?"
Hiccup lifts up his metal leg and replies, "Oh, this? Uh…this happened while I was…fighting a dragon." It wasn't a total lie, but it's better than revealing what he's truly passionate about.
Stoick nods. "Ah, I see. So, what was it that got you? Monstrous Nightmare? Gronckle? Nadder?"
Hiccup replies, "Well…it was actually a…Night Fury."
Upon saying those two words, the whole room goes silent as all eyes turn to Hiccup in disbelief. Stoick then replies, "You…dealt with a Night Fury and got away? But Night Furies are some of the most dangerous dragons on Earth. How in the world did you manage to get out with the mere cost of a leg?"
Hiccup glanced back to Astrid to try to get some support, but she gave a look that suggested, 'uh-uh, you got yourself into this mess.' Hiccup then puts something together and replies, "Oh, well, uh…heh. Heh-heh-ha-ha." He begins some short fake laughs which seemed to do the trick as the rest of the room began to laugh with him.
Even Stoick nearly fell on his knees from all the laughing. "Ah, that was a good one, there. Nearly soiled myself."
Hoping to switch the subject, Hiccup then states, "So, uh, Chief of Berk, huh? Sounds amazing, really. Sounds like you have just about everything you need."
Stoick then glances down. "Well, Puccih, I'm afraid that's…almost true." He turns around and points to two women who were standing in front of the kitchen sink, chatting with each other. One had auburn hair, the other having curly black hair. Stoick comments, "Ah, now there's the real treasure of Berk. The most beautiful woman that Berk has ever seen."
Hiccup then recognized one of the women from the past, well the future, and thinks to himself, "Right, the day Dad became Chief was also the day that he and Mom declared their love for each other." He then says out loud, "Yeah, she is something, isn't she?" he gestures to the auburn haired woman.
Stoick raises the brow higher. "Oh, no, I'm talking about her." Stoick gestures to the black haired woman.
Hiccup shakes his head. "No, no, trust me, I know things like this and I think that she's the real match for you."
Stoick stammers a bit. "Her? I mean…she is lovely, but I don't really see much in her."
Hiccup then pats Stoick's shoulder. "Well, I see a match made in Valhalla. You should go talk to her."
Stoick looks between the two women and replies, "I…I don't know…hey, maybe you can help me talk to her."
Hiccup raises a brow to that. "Me?"
Stoick nods. "Yes, you. You can be my…oh, what do you kids call it these days? The…person to make me look good while diverging attention away from yourself."
Hiccup raises the other brow. "You mean…your wingman?"
Stoick nods again. "Yes, that's it. What do you say, Puccih?"
Astrid then tugs at Hiccup's arm and says, "We need to go, actually."
Stoick asks, "Are you sure? But you just got here and you were just telling me how much of a ladies man you are. Besides, Gobber is almost done making his mutton stew."
Gobber, who was sitting by a boiling pot over the fire pit, salutes Stoick and comments, "Almost there, Chief. Just need to find my big spoon…" He looks around while commenting with a chuckle. "I should just find a way to attach my spoon to my hand, right?" Others laugh to that.
Hiccup then replies, "Uh, actually, yeah, we really do need to get going."
Stoick nods. "Well…alright, but if you change your mind, then come holler at me."
Hiccup and Astrid then proceed to walk towards the front door of the house, and once outside, Hiccup pauses for a second before looking back into the house. Astrid raises a brow and comments, "You're really thinking of doing this, aren't you?"
Hiccup shrugs. "How many people can say they witnessed the moment their parents became a couple?"
Astrid replies, "Hiccup, we need to get Toothless and get back to the portal, now." However, it was too late as Astrid saw the same look of determination in Hiccup's eyes that she saw when they went through the portal. She lets out a deep sigh before saying, "Just…don't be too long. Ok?"
Hiccup nods. "You know me, I never take too long."
With that, Hiccup goes inside. Astrid crosses her arms and glances over to spot Toothless hiding in a dark corner behind the house where nobody could see him. She then asks, "Remind me again, what do you see in him?" Toothless rolls his eyes in a 'tell me about it' way.
Once back inside, Hiccup goes up to Stoick and tells him, "You know what, Chief? I will help you talk to her."
Stoick pats Hiccup on the shoulder. "Atta boy. Alright, what's the plan?"
Hiccup replies, "Just go with me." He picks up a nearby mug of ale and the two of them walk over to the women. Hiccup says to the two of them, "Ladies."
Stoick then adds, "Hello, Valka. Milda."
They turn to see Hiccup and Stoick standing there where the auburn-haired woman says, "Oh, Chief, congratulations!"
Stoick nods. "Yes, yes, thank you. Say, uh, Puccih, here, had something he wanted to share with you."
Hiccup nods. "Yes, indeed, I-whoa!" He proceeds to fake tripping on his metal leg and splash the ale onto the black-haired woman, making her scream a little. Hiccup comments, "Oh, I am so sorry, it's this dam leg of mine."
The woman laughs a bit. "Oh, that's alright. Suppose you needed to cut off from the stuff as well, eh?"
Hiccup laughs back. "Yes, yes, uh here, I'll go help you clean up."
Stoick comments, "You can take my guest bathroom upstairs."
The woman nods. "Yes, that would be great, thank you." With that, the two of them head upstairs, leaving Stoick with the auburn-haired woman.
Having made their way up to the upstairs bedroom, aka Hiccup's future bedroom, Hiccup and the black-haired woman had gotten most of the ale off of her yak-leather dress. The two of them proceed to sit down on the bed where the woman comments, "Thanks for helping me clean this off."
To which Hiccup replies, "Yeah, no worries."
The woman then looks Hiccup up and down and comments, "You know…under this dim light, you are quite the handsome fellow, aren't you?"
A blush runs across Hiccup's face. "I've…been told that before." Hiccup knows this is getting to wrong levels, especially considering the fact that Astrid is right outside waiting for him as well, but he supposed what Astrid didn't know couldn't hurt him. "You are quite the lovely lady, yourself."
The woman nods. "Thank you…Puccih, was it?"
Hiccup smiles and leans in saying, "You can call me whatever you want." With that, the two of them lock lips in a passionate kiss.
Meanwhile, downstairs, Stoick was wrapping up a story that he was telling the auburn-haired woman. "…So I threw an axe right into the dragon's mouth and pulled it back with enough force to take away a few teeth."
The woman blinks and replies, "Doesn't sound very…lovely if you ask me."
Stoick blinks to that. "Yes…I suppose you'd have to be there to understand."
The two of them stand in awkward silence for a full 30 seconds, neither of which knew what to say to the other. The woman breaks the silence by saying, "Well…I suppose I should go, Chief."
Stoick nods. "Yes, alright, uh do you need me to walk you out?"
"No-no, I've got it, but thank you for offering, Chief." The woman replies as she begins to walk out.
Stoick nods. "Yes, see you around, Milda." He then sighs. "I don't know what Puccih saw in her, we have nothing in common."
Back upstairs, Hiccup and the black-haired woman were caught up in their kiss as they embrace each other's body as the woman stops kissing and utters out, "Puccih…"
Hiccup replies with, "Milda…"
The woman stops kissing and replies, "Valka."
A wave of realization washes over Hiccup's face as he slowly pulls away from the kiss. He then replies, "Wh-what did you say?"
The woman replies, "It's Valka, Milda is my friend. Although, I've heard we look alike before, like twins in fact. I actually dyed my hair black just so people could tell us apart, I suppose that didn't entirely go as planned."
Hiccup didn't hear second half of that sentence as he was too focused on what just happened, what he just did and he was about to do his mother. It was then that Hiccup's face turns as green as a Zippleback's gas breath as he couldn't believe what kind of person he just became.
Valka notices this and comments, "Oh, what's wrong? You look like you're about to-" However, before she could finish, the wave of sickness Hiccup suddenly felt got the better of him and his mouth released a warm, green, chunky fluid all over Valka's dress and caused her to scream.
Hearing the scream, Stoick comments to those that were near him, "I better go see what that is." He puts down his mug and heads upstairs. Once in the room, he opens the door to see Hiccup lying on the ground, curled up into a ball while rocking from side to side and Valka was sitting right by him. "What happened?" Stoick asks.
Valka replies, "I don't know, he was fine one minute but the next thing I knew he became as sick as a Gronckle."
Stoick thinks about it, "It couldn't have been Gobber's stew. He made sure to use less mutton bladder this time around."
Valka lays her hand on Hiccup to try to comfort him when he nearly shouts, "Get away from me you foul witch!"
Stoick scoffs to that. "You kiss your mother with that mouth?"
Hiccup gags to that sentence before replying, "Unfortunately."
Stoick then looks over and spots Valka's dress which still had a gnarly green stain on it provided by Hiccup's stomach. Stoick comments, "Oh, looks like you've got…"
Valka looks down. "Oh, shoot, and I just got the ale off of this from earlier."
Stoick then takes off the brown sheep wool jacket he was wearing and puts it around Valka. "Here. You can give that back whenever."
Valka nods. "Thanks. Oh, it's…quite warm and…soft."
Stoick nods. "Yes, I do know how to heat up a jacket."
The two of them then lock eyes for a moment and suddenly it was like nothing else in the world mattered. Stoick's forest green eyes locked with Valka's ocean blue eyes as the two of them lean in and seal their lips together in a passionate kiss.
Hiccup figured this was the perfect chance to escape.
Once outside, Astrid goes up to Hiccup and sees him shivering and looking much paler than usual. "What happened in there?"
Hiccup replies, "I really don't want to talk about it."
Astrid nods and says, "Well, we better get going. I don't think Toothless can wait for us any longer. Besides, it's starting to get dark and-" sure enough, seconds later, the Berk war alarm sounds as the dragons come back for another raid.
Hiccup and Astrid use this commotion to run up the hill where they met up with Toothless. However, just behind them, Stoick runs out and looks up the hill and, even with the darkening sky, he could see some kind of scaled, black figure dash off into the forest. "Is that a…? No, it couldn't be."
However, he then hears Gobber calling to him. "Chief! Come on, we need your help."
Stoick wanted to go see if what he thought was true, if that really was the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself, but right now his village needed him, so he turns tail and charges into the destruction.
Hiccup and Astrid get on Toothless and he takes them back to that cave on the other side of Berk. Once in the cave, Astrid asks, "You sure the portal can take us back to our time?"
Hiccup replies, "I'm keeping my fingers crossed."
Astrid comments, "That's what I was afraid of."
With Toothless's help, they manage to navigate through the cave and eventually find the portal once again, but it was half the size it was when they first saw it and was closing fast. Deciding this was their only shot, Hiccup and Astrid leap off of Toothless and head into the portal while Toothless follows them and fortunately, right after Toothless had already slipped the tip of his tail into the other side, the portal closes, leaving Hiccup and Astrid with the darkness of the cave.
On one hand, Hiccup was relieved that they got through the portal, but on the other hand, he was concerned if this was their time or not, so he has Toothless take him and Astrid out of the cave and back to the main area of Berk.
It was already daytime and as soon as they got back to Berk, the first thing they noticed was all the normal roaming dragons, all of which were just casually roaming the streets and air of Berk.
Glad that that much was the same, Hiccup has Toothless set them down in front of his house where Hiccup looks around and sees the many dragon safe buildings that he had a helping hand with building, so far it seemed like they didn't change anything in the future.
It was then that Fishlegs ran up to him and says, "Hey, there you are! We've been looking for you all day!"
Hiccup raises a brow to that. "We?"
Fishlegs rolls his eyes. "I have been looking for you all day." He then gasps. "Did you find anything in that cave. Ho-ho, you must tell!"
Hiccup glances back to Astrid who gave him a look that suggested that he shouldn't say anything. He looks to Toothless who was currently chasing a bird and couldn't really be that helpful in that moment, so he replies, "Uh…we didn't find anything, actually."
Fishlegs raises a brow to that. "Nothing? Then how come you guys are only just now getting back?"
Hiccup replies, "Well, we-"
Astrid adds, "it was such a nice night so we decided to…camp out and have a night under the stars. Right Toothless?" Toothless was still chasing that bird, but gave kind of a 'yeah yeah' grunt.
Fishlegs processes this information before replying, "Oh…ok then. Well, I guess that adds up. See you, Puccih. Astrid."
Upon hearing the name, Hiccup looks to Fishlegs and asks, "Uh, wait, what did you call me?" He could hear Astrid snorting with laughter behind him.
Fishlegs blinks to that. "Uh…Puccih? You know, your name."
Hiccup nods to that. "Right…never mind." He then heads inside and sees Valka sitting at the table.
"Oh, Puccih!" Valka comments, "Hope you don't mind me dropping in like this to see you."
Hiccup nods. "Uh, no, yeah it's fine. Say, uh, Mom, you might have told me but, where does my name come from?"
Valka replies, "Oh, well, you see, it was the night that your father and I declared our love for each other, and we met this strange young boy who…actually looked a lot like you. Even had a metal leg just…like yours…well, anyway, if it wasn't for him then I don't think I would've married your father. Though, the strangest thing is that we never saw that boy again."
Hiccup nods to that. "I…see."
Valka nods then gets up. "Well, anyway, I'm heading out now. I need to get back to the dragon infirmary. See you later, Puccih." With that, she kisses his forehead which brought up another slight gag from Hiccup as she walks out.
Hiccup could see Astrid trying very hard to not lose her mind while laughing before he shrugs. "You know what? I suppose it could be worse."
Astrid rolls her eyes. "Oh yeah, nothing like finding out you have a completely new, dumber name."
Hiccup raises a brow to that. "Oh yeah? Dirtsa?"
Astrid then jokingly pushes him a bit. "Oh, don't even think about going there."
Hiccup replies, "I went there, and now I'm not coming back, Dirtsa." He then runs off and leaps on Toothless before they take off.
Astrid stands at the doorway and shakes her head. "What AM I going to do with him?" she chuckles to herself as she watches Hiccup, now Puccih, fly away.
Thank you for reading this story, I do hope you enjoyed it.
Sorry for the slight absence, I had to take my laptop in for repairs this week so I couldn't write anything even if I wanted to.
Take care and I'll see you next time!
