(Robin's POV)
I had just finished getting ready for the day when I heard a knock on my door. I answered it and it turned out to be Starfire. She had a worried look on her face. She asked "Hello Robin may I come in? I have the worry and the questions. I am hopeing you can answer them."
"Sure Star come on in. What's troubling you?" I asked. We sat down on my bed and she began twiddling her fingers. She looked at me and asked her questions. "Robin it is about Friend Danny. You see we do not have this anxiety medication on my planet. Therefore I do not understand the purpose of it. Nor why Friend Danny needs it. It make me the worried for him. Will you please explain?"
I gave her a reassuring smile, put my hand on her shoulder, and explained. "Ok Starfire here it is. You see the human brain is very complicated. To function properly among other things it has there are natural chemicals that perform certain functions. When there is an imbalance of these chemicals it causes what is called a disorder. Danny has what is called an anxiety disorder. Basically the chemicals in his brain that handle anxiety are imbalanced. Thereby causing him to feel a large amount of anxiety at both appropriate and inappropriate times. It can even cause him to have panic attacks. There are things that can help him manage his anxiety. One of those things is anxiety medication. What it does is it helps balance out the anxiety chemicals in his brain. Thereby haveing a healthy amount of anxiety at appropriate times. It's not a perfect solution however. So we are going to have to be supportive and understanding of Danny and, help him when need be. One of the ways we can help him is showing him that everyone has anxiety and how we deal with it. I for example train or read when I'm anxious. So I plan on sharing that with him in hopes it will help. Does that answer your question Star?"
She smiled at me and said. "Yes it does. In fact it gives me the idea of how I can help Friend Danny. Thankyou Robin." Then she got up still smiling and flew out of the room. "Well this should be interesting." I thought aloud.
time skip 1 hour later
(Danny's POV)
I was up on the roof cload watching while listening to music. I was trying to relax after we finished breakfast. Useing the breathing techniques Dinah taught me I was almost at ease. Then all of a sudden Starfire was in my field of vision. "Yaaaahhh!" I screamed due to how startled I was. Putting my hand over my heart I took deep breaths to calm down again. Taking off my headphones I looked at her and said. "Sheesh Star ya scared me. ...Hi...what's up?"
She gave me that overjoyed smile of her's and said. "Hello Friend Danny. I am sorry for scaring you. I was wondering if you were going to be busy today. If not would you like to spend some time with me?"
I smiled back and said. "Sure Starfire I'll hang out with you. What do you want to do?" Somehow her smile got bigger. She turned and floated over to what looked like art supplies. She came back holding two easels and a bag full of other art supplies. Then she said "Come Friend Danny please follow me." So I transformed and we flew off.
Turns out we were headed for the park. We landed near a pond with trees and flowers. There were even ducks and swans swimming on the water. It was a pretty and peaceful place. Smiling I looked at Starefire and said. "Wow Star this place is great. But if I may ask what are we doing here?"
She smiled and said "Well Danny after getting my questions answered about anxiety medication by Robin. He suggested a way to help you would be to share how we all deal with stress and anxiety. I realy wanted to help you as well as do the hanging out with you. So I have brought you to my favorite place to make the art. For you see art is how I deal with stress and anxiety as well as other emotions. I was hoping you would be willing to give it a try."
I awkwardly rubbed the back of my neck, smiled and responded. "Well thanks for wanting to help Starfire. I've allways been more into music than art. So I don't know how good I'll be. But I'd love to give it a try."
"Oh joy!" she exclaimed and gave me a gentle hug. I hugged back and she said. "You will see Danny this will be fun. Also do not worry about how good you are. Just have fun and use the art to express yourself. What you see, your emotions, whatever you like. No one will judge you. And above all relax." We let go and Starfire set up the art equipment.
About a half hour later I had what I thought as a decent picture of the pond during a meteor shower. I thought I'd capture this peaceful place and my love of space at the same time. I have to admit this was relaxing and fun. I'm not up to Starfire's level of skill. But she was right about it being a good way to express yourself.
I took a look over a Starfire and what she was painting. It was amazing. She was painting all of us Titans from memory. The detail was incredible. I was almost like a photograph. "Wow Star that looks amazing." I told her.
Smiling she turned and told me. "Thankyou Friend Danny. Your painting is good as well." "Really?" I asked. "Yes it is very nice. In fact I can teach you some more advanced techniques if you would like." She offered.
"Yeah I'd like that." So we started to talk getting to know eachother. Eventually she asked me "So what are your hobbies Danny?" "Well I'm into science and technology. I like inventing things. I like playing games with friends. Like board games, card games, and video games. But my favorite hobby which I haven't done much of in a while is music. It relaxes me and let's me express myself like art does for you. But I don't just listen to it. I also love to make music by playing guitar and singing. Granted I've only ever done it in front of my old friends Sam and Tucker. But they thought I was good at it. I miss it actually. I think I'll try getting back into it soon."
"Oh that is wonderful Danny. If it will not bother you may I hear you play?" "You realy want to?" I asked. She nodded. I thought about it and, realized it wouldn't bother me so I said. "Sure Star that would be great." We both smiled and continued painting.
Sometime later I had finished my painting and decided to sit and watch the ducks and swans swim while talking to Star. "So Star since your helping me with my anxiety by sharing art with me. I was wondering if I could help you with anything. Like for example what makes you anxious?"
She thought for a moment then answered. "Will you keep the secret Danny?" I nodded. "Well you see I...I have the crush on someone" She blushed. "I am friends with this someone. But I do not know what to do about it. I do not even know if he feels the same way. And if he did what do I do then?"
"Well Star I'm no expert on love but I can tell you this. If revealing this crush ruins your friendship with him. Which I suspect your also worried about. Then he is not a good friend or good for you. As for the crush itself. I think you should go for it and ask him out on a date. If you need help I'll support you. As for what you do. Well just be yourself. Do things that you both would like and, get to know eachother better. Truth be told I kind of have a crush on a friend myself." I could feel my face heat up with a blush. "I haven't worked up the courage to ask her out yet. But maybe it'll be easier for both of us if it was a double date. Meaning we are each on a date with our crush but the four of us hang out on the date together. What do you say? Wanna give it a try?"I asked.
"Yes Danny that sounds wonderful. But if I may ask who is your crush?" Blushing again I said "Raven...What about you Star? Who is your crush?" She blushed herself and said "Robin...you don't mind do you?" "No not at all. In fact I think it's great. So what do you say after you've finished painting we head back to my room? We can get on my laptop and find some things to do for the date then go from there." She smiled, nodded, and continued to paint.
Soon she was done. We picked up everything and flew back to the Tower. Once we put everything away we headed to my bedroom. I put my painting against the wall, got my laptop, and sat on my bed. I beckoned Star to join me. When she did we began looking up things we could do on our hopfully double date.
About an hour later we had a plan. Now it was time to do what we feared. Ask Raven and Robin out. We decided she would go first. I would stay just in earshot down the hallway as her support and she would do the same for me with Raven. Takeing our positions Star took one last look at me. I smiled and nodded. Then she knocked on Robin's door.
He answered. I could just see him standing in his doorway. I heard him say "Hey Star what's up?" She started twiddling her fingers, took a deep breath the said. "Robin I was wondering if you were busy tonight? If not I was hoping you would consider going on the double date with me?" She blushed horribly but stood her ground. Robin blushed too. He rubbed his neck embarrassed then said. "Well Star I'd love too go on a date with you. But wait...double date? Who are the other couple Star?" She peeked over to me and I nodded. So she told him "Well he hasn't asked her yet but, if she says yes the other couple will be Danny and Raven."
He looked a little shocked at first then it looked like something dawned on him. Suddenly I found him looking down the hallway right at me. "Danny what are you doing?" he asked. "Umm...giving Starfire emotional support." I shrugged. He quirked an eyebrow but didn't seem to pay it much mind. "I see well do you need me for support in asking Raven out?" he asked. I smiled and said "Thanks for the offer Bro but, Star has already offered her support. With that I think I can handle it." "Alright good luck. I'll be in the livingroom if you need me." He said then left.
Starfire floated up to me and said "Glorious" spinning in mid air. "I know right. He said yes!" I said excitedly. "Oh I can't wait for tonight." she said spinning again. "Me either...and I haven't even asked Raven out yet." I said rubbing my neck. She smiled and said "Well we will just have to fix that." She took me by the hand and, lead me to Raven's door. She took me be the shoulders and said. "Now remember Friend Danny you can do this. Just be brave." "Yeah..brave..ok." I said taking calming breaths. She smiled and said "I'll be right here." she then back up the side of the wall a few feet.
With one last calming breath I knocked on the door. Soon Raven answered looking pretty as ever. Her eyes twinkled when she saw me and had that small sweet smile on her face. "Hello Danny. What can I do for you?" she asked. I nervously rubbed my neck again, took a deep breath, and said. "Well Raven umm...The reason I'm here is...I I wanted to ask you...if you would go on a double date with me?" I felt myself blushing hard at this point. I almost forgot to breath waiting for her answer. She said "I'd love to go out with you Danny. Who are we going with?" Feeling more confident now I smiled and answered "Robin and Starfire. We planned on heading out around five. We will get dinner out and go to a few places Star and I think everyone will like." She nodded and said "Alright speaking of Starfire why can I sence her lurking down the hallway?" Star and I both blushed at that i gulped and said "W Well both Star and I needed a little support when we decided to ask both you and Robin out. So we thought it best to be nearby in order to help give eachother confidence when we asked." She just smiled that special smile I love to see and simply said "Alright that's understandable." She looked down the hall and asked "Hey Star congradulations on asking Robin out. The double date sounds fun. So how about you and I hang out together and get ready for the date and Danny can do the same with Robin?"
Squeeing in joy Starfire flew into Raven's room then Raven said "See you at 5:00 Danny." with that she closed her door. With a big smile on my face I decided to head into the livingroom and hang out with my brother then get ready together as Raven suggested. Tonight was sure going to be interesting I could hardly wait. As for how it'll all turn out, well as the saying goes only Clockwork knows.
