*Entry #61: Steven's Trial
Well, this is a very interesting event that occurred, one that raised over a hundred questions in my mind. When Steven arrived on Homeworld, he was put on trial for his mother's crimes. He was then introduced to a new type of Gem called a Zircon, who appeared to fill the role of a lawyer. He had a blue Zircon reluctantly defending him, a yellow Zircon prosecuting against him, and Yellow and Blue Diamond were acting as judges. Strangely enough, White Diamond didn't appear, but I'll look into that later. Despite Yellow's insistence on executing Steven right away, Blue kept it fair to the end. The yellow Zircon made a good case on proving that Rose shattered Pink Diamond and that Steven was Pink Diamond. However, later one, the blue Zircon made a very interesting case that seems to change everything. Despite there being witnesses to Pink Diamond's shattering, there are some paradoxes that make it seem impossible for the crime to have happened and got so caught up in the moment, she accidentaly accused the Diamonds for settting up Pink for her fall and cover it up to look like Rose did it. A great skirmish occurred that gave Steven and Lars the chance to escape. Now, this leaves me with many questions. On one hand, it was impossible for Rose to get close enough to Pink Diamond without her entourage warning her to flee. On the other, there were many witnesses who sincerely swore that they saw it happen and the Crystal Gems didn't deny it happened. I believe that they believe that, but this requires further investigation. So I'm going to look more into what happened on that day. Although, with my luck, Steven will somehow figure it out before I do. I may have a PhD in Xenoarchaeology, but Steven has more experience in Gem affairs than I do and he always appears to have crazy luck in uncovering secrets.
