Here is the 19th full chapter in Book 5, released on time as promised. This is the last chapter in the Conclave/Schism arc of Book 5 and to avoid spoilers I will not say anymore. That is all I have for here though so I will leave this pre chapter note off here and as there isn't anything to respond to that means that it time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the 19th full installment of Avatar: The Tale of Harry. Book 5: Duty.
Disclaimer: As always I own nothing related to these two great works of fiction.
Chapter 19
Harry sat at one end of the table that was used for the cabinet meetings in the United Republic. It was a week after Luna's election as Archabbot and true to her word she'd avoided Air Temple Island when she called a Council of World Leaders meeting. Instead, after making it clear that the Island where meetings were usually held was to remain neutral for the foreseeable future and as such couldn't be used for the meeting, she'd insisted on them using the Presidential Palace.
It was still in the United Republic which was the best place for such a meeting as it was the most central location, and all the World Leaders could make it. No one had complained and Teddy had agreed to use the cabinet room for it and had even given up his chair at the head of the table to Harry so that he could sit there while Luna sat opposite him.
Instead, Teddy sat to Harry's right in his usual immaculate black suit while Dominique in her military dress uniform sat on Harry's other side. This left Ursa and Xiang, both in formal robes, on either side of Luna. In the middle of the table, between Dominique and Ursa sat Altinak and opposite him was Ron who was present for advice and as a former President though he had no vote on any matters that needed one.
Luna had just finished explaining what had happened during Conclave to the gathered leaders. It had taken a week to set up this meeting but with the schism in the Air Nation it was needed as soon as possible to discuss what they were going to do about it, or more accurately figure out what they were even allowed do at all.
"Thank you for telling us Luna." Teddy said with a sigh. "I agree, the timing of everything is too coincidental to be believed and with the events at Conclave I am more certain than ever that your suspicions that my father was murdered are true. I spoke with him after the last meeting and dad was afraid of what Ekrizdis might do to claim the power he clearly craved."
"He was right to be afraid." Luna said seriously. "We all are. I've already signed a contract with Kyoshi Warriors, and they've begun protecting me, Davies, and Bexley. I can't do anything about Cho and Wroxton as they will remain neutral and as such can only secure protection on their own. The problem is I don't think that this schism will be peaceful."
"Would you want it to be?" Dominique asked bluntly. "I may be the daughter and sister of airbenders, but I always took after my father, so I am not really clear on the whole peaceful resolution stuff. When the South faced adversity, we ended up in a civil war that led to our independence."
"I'm married to a Southerner Dominique; I know all too well what your philosophies and culture is." Luna said. "Given your history it makes perfect sense that you are like that. As to your question, there is a lot I want that I know I can't have. I want the Air Nation to be unified as it always has been, the concept of division is alien to us let alone a schism or even worse a conflict. Alas I cannot have that, but I can live with us becoming two separate nations if we can coexist in peace. The heart of airbending is freedom and as such I cannot ask, let alone order, airbenders to just follow me if they don't want to. They are free to choose who to follow."
"And you'd rather have that then conflict." Altinak said. "Right?"
"Right." Luna said with a nod. "If it is a schism they want then so be it, they can have it and I will not stop them from breaking away. The problem is the assessment on Ekrizdis is not a good one and I fear that he won't be satisfied with just part of the Air Nation joining him."
"He's a fanatic." Harry said simply. "A zealot who is convinced of his own righteousness and the premise of his claim on leadership. He is an extremist who won't compromise or give up until he has what he believes is his by right even if it isn't. He was rebuffed by Remus and me when he tried to convince us and now he's lost the election. His ego won't be able to handle it."
"Sounds like a few other people some of us here have faced." Ron said. "Based on what I've heard I'd put him on the same level as Voldemort, Hermione, and James in terms of how extreme his beliefs are and how charismatic he appears to be. The Unholy Triumvirate, while all that, are a little different as they didn't have any backing and were solely focused on revenge before their other goals."
"That isn't a good sign." Teddy said. "Only you, Harry, and Luna here were alive for Voldemort or dealt with Hermione personally, but we all remember the Principate War and the Princeps, that is still fresh in our minds. If Ekrizdis is like James then that isn't good."
"He's not like James, at least not exactly." Harry said thinking on his assessment of Ekrizdis from their meeting. "My son and Ekrizdis share a lot of similarities, that is true, but they are also different at the same time. James led from the front, he tackled everything head on as an earthbender would and had no qualms getting his hands dirty or acknowledging what he was doing was not good. Ekrizdis is different, he won't get his hands dirty. He is an airbender who follows the old nomadic philosophy, which is deflect, avoid, and counter only when you can't do the first two. He waited for the right moment to strike and has done so perfectly. Also, I don't believe he personally killed Remus."
"He may not have murdered my father, but he had to have ordered it." Teddy said angrily. "I read your report on your meeting with him Harry, I know he claims to have airbenders working for him who are not welcome in the Air Nation, and we all know what that means. I don't doubt that he has an assassin who knows how to kill and make it look natural."
"There aren't many who could do that." Ron said. "It's known as Zaheer's method and is banned by the Air Nation. I recall that there were a few Triad members and an old Red Lotus assassin who was part of Voldemort's mass jail break that we never recaptured that could do it back in the day, but the list of who can perform it is short."
"Whatever the case he no doubt found one and is using him or her to do his dirty work." Luna said. "Along with other airbenders banned or expelled from the Air Nation. I have already ordered a full record of those who have been expelled or denied entry to the Air Nation, but our records aren't centralized, and I can only accurately get the Western and Southern Air Temple records due to the other Temples joining Ekrizdis."
"I can have Lily look through the RCPD database for airbenders who have Triad connections, memberships and convictions for violent crimes." Teddy said. "Though we will focus on those who aren't currently incarcerated. Dad told me that Triad membership is a reason for denial."
"It is and thank you, it will give us a sense of how large Ekrizdis's unsavory force is." Luna said. "Based on estimates it is probably the same size or a little smaller than the ANDF and they will have no compunctions killing."
"So, if it comes to war then that is a good sign, right?" Ursa asked. "You have the same numbers. Then all we need to do is pledge our forces to you and you can repel any attack that is launched against the rightful Archabbot. As airbenders you can't go on the offensive, but you can act in self-defense and if they attack first surely you can counter them to end their threat."
"There's a little more nuance than that." Luna said with a grimace. "Yes, if they attack or declare war in any way I can expel them from the Air Nation immediately, at least those who side with Ekrizdis as he is not a member due to his rejection of Remus's offer, and I can order an attack of the other Temples but only to capture them from hostile forces. I cannot conquer them or force them to return to the Air Nation, they have officially left and must request permission to rejoin. That's also not the only problem."
"The other one is that we can't help Ursa." Dominique growled clearly pissed at that. "As much as we want to and I am sure everyone here agrees with me in saying that Luna is the rightfully chosen leader of the Air Nation as it was done in accordance with their laws, we can't assist in what would clearly be a civil war. Under the laws of war that were codified after the 100-year war and amended after the Southern War of Independence, when a nation engages in civil war, other nations are not allowed to intervein unless there has been a violation of the laws of war."
"I get that but wasn't the rebellion against Hermione considered a civil war?" Ursa asked. "I know that it was before my time, but I know that it is sometimes referred to as such and I know that my nation was in part liberated by the United Forces."
"It was but that was because Hermione had violated international law during her time as the illegitimate ruler of the Fire Nation." Ron said. "She'd committed countless human rights violations, broke laws against slavery, violated civil rights of freedom of speech, due process, and many other rights that the Fire Nation was a signatory to, which meant that the other nations had a right to intervein. They couldn't until the blockade was broken when Admiral Thomas and General Creevy defected but that was at the end and no United Forces member engaged in actual combat."
"I see." Ursa said sounding deflated at what she was hearing. "So, we can't intervein then?"
"Unless either side violates a law of war, a human right, or engages in combat in another nation's territory that would be considered an act of war against that nation, no you can't." Luna said. "I had the lawyer on the Southern Council of Elders look it all up for me before I left. Ekrizdis is an airbender in open schism with me and claiming to rule what is effectively the Air Nation while holding the support and control of two Air Temples. This makes this am internal matter and as such we cannot get military aid from other nations."
"Just military aid?" Xiang asked. "I recall learning of the Yi civil war that broke out in the wake of Voldemort's defeat in my studies as it is considered the most recent known civil war, the Malum Insurrection was handled before it could become one, and I know that there were non-natives in the war and monetary aid from at least the Enlightened that funded one side in that conflict."
"Under the laws of war when dealing with a civil war, no other nation may provide material support of any kind to any of the parties involved." Teddy said. "That means that we cannot lend military, technical, financial or any other form of aid to Luna during this. What we can do though is have our troops on standby for a violation of a law of war and join her side the moment that happens."
"And we can publicly support her claim to show where we stand and use our clout to aid her." Dominique added. "And we cannot prevent private citizens like Ron, who is a private citizen as he is no longer seen as a valid claimant to the Southern Throne, or a citizen of the world like the Avatar from helping you. If it comes to it I will give a speech supporting you, my ties to the Air Nation are well known, and mention how private citizens can help. It will be expected of me regardless now that my aunt is a Head Abbess."
"As will I." Altinak said with a nod. "As far as the Northern Water Tribe is concerned you are the leader of the Air Nation Luna."
"We all will." Teddy said and Harry watched as both Ursa and Xiang nodded their own confirmations of support. "That should bolster your numbers with volunteers."
"Thank you all, it will." Luna said with a smile at them. "Marshall Bexley will be in command so any volunteers will be under him but Quirke is retired and a private citizen so she will advise him on matters of war. In fact, she is on her way to the Western Air Temple as we speak for that role."
"Good and you can contract with independent mercenary or other such groups that sell their services for this kinda thing." Ron said. "The Xidi Militias are one such group that Harry can work with, the Kyoshi Warriors are another one. You already have a protection contract with them, so it won't be hard to expand it to a general mercenary contract."
"I'll reach out if I have to." Harry said. "Xidi is annoying to deal with at the best of times, but I can broker the deal."
"Thank you, I will take what help I can get." Luna said. "All this is new to me; I was not part of the discussions in the Principate War, and it has been over 60 years since the Second Purity War when I last sat on a War Council like this, so I am rusty. Now…"
Before Luna could finish what she was about to say the door suddenly burst in and Lily walked in. Everyone looked surprised at the sudden arrival of the Chief of Police, but Lily had the right to come in unannounced if it was an emergency and judging by the look on her face it clearly was.
"Chief Lily, is something up?" Teddy asked.
"Yes I just got a report that Ekrizdis is doing a multinetwork, live VV broadcast in a few minutes." Lily said going to a side table and removing a remote from the drawer there. "So, I figured you'd want to see it."
They all just nodded as Lily found the remote and pressed a button on it. Part of the wall behind Luna whirred and fell down on a mechanic contraption to reveal a large VV set into the wall. Luna got up and moved to a side chair to watch it as Lily turned it onto the news channel that it was set to. As soon as the screen came to life Harry knew that it was carrying the broadcast.
The screen showed an airbender with a bald head, master tattoos, master robes complete with a wooden pendant worn by the Archabbot, and a salt and pepper goatee. Though only Harry and Luna had ever met the Ekrizdis, Harry had told the others about his appearance so he knew that they could recognize him.
Ekrizdis was sitting in the lotus position on the floor of a meditation chamber that had to be in one of the Air Temples. On either side and slightly behind him showing that they were subservient to him were Brocklehurst and Edgecombe, both of them also in the lotus position. All three appeared to be meditating and waiting for the right moment to start, likely however much time they are though it would take for news to reach Republic City that they were holding this broadcast as it was clear that the World Leaders were their main audience.
"Where are they?" Altinak asked.
"The Eastern Air Temple." Luna said. "I recognize that room as the main meditation room for the Temple. It's at the spiritual center of the Temple though not the most spiritual spot within the Temple's lands, that is actually located in the area around it and is known as Jinora's Spot as it was where Jinora led Korra into the Spirit World marking Korra's first time entering it."
"I see, I guess they are there because it is a better place than wherever the Exile Temple is as they'd want to maintain the secrecy of that Temple's location." Ron mused. "And it confirms that Brocklehurst and Edgecombe have sided with Ekrizdis and taken their Temples with them."
"It has which is not good." Luna said but before she could say anything else Ekrizdis's eyes opened, as did those of his subordinates, and he looked right at the camera without emotion on his face. "But let's here what this asshole has to say."
"Hello world, you are probably wondering why your favorite VV program or event, or radio show is suddenly being interrupted by someone you've never seen or heard before." Ekrizdis said. "But that is because I have a message for the world in general and a few people in particular that will change everything you know about history. You see I am Ekrizdis XIII, and I am the true leader of all Air Nomads in the world. Why is that the case? Well, that is because I am a direct descendant of the survivors of the Air Nomad Genocide 303 years ago which makes me the successor to the old, true nomads."
Ekrizdis paused and smiled at the camera. Harry knew exactly what he was doing, he was letting his shocking statement be digested so that everyone watching or listening knew what he was saying to them as the Air Nomad Genocide was common knowledge even after 3 centuries. No doubt everyone was paying full attention to Ekrizdis now.
"And if you are uncertain of my claims just ask the Avatar, we had a chat last month and as we were on stone he used his truth seeing to confirm what I said." Ekrizdis said. "But I will come back to that confirmation in a bit. First a bit of history."
Again, he paused, and Harry knew that it was for dramatic effect after invoking the Avatar which Harry knew Ekrizdis would use to further justify his claims. He had a feeling that Ekrizdis would use his truth seeing for that and wasn't looking forward to that because he was going to have to refute it most likely.
"When Firelord Sozin attacked the Air Temples on the day of that comet and slaughter my people without mercy he was brutally effective, but he didn't get all of us." Ekrizdis said bringing their attention back to him. "He killed many and who he didn't he had systems in place to find and kill but we were too many to just be eradicated like that. You can't wipe out a nomadic culture in one large move with a bunch of follow ups."
Ekrizdis took a breath at that as people no doubt began to understand him. It was a fair point that no one had really thought about. How did the Air Nomads get wiped out when they were nomadic. Surely some had to survive and while there were records of a few that were dealt with through tricks after Sozin's Comet that couldn't have gotten them all. Now the world would learn how some actually survived.
"A clever Abbot from the Eastern Air Temple had found a lost 5th Temple and brought survivors there." Ekrizdis continued when he was ready. "Thanks to his efforts a little over 200 airbenders survived and made it there before the Temple was closed for good and they began their lives in exile waiting for the right moment to return to the world when the Fire Nation were no longer the genocidal monsters that Sozin had made them into. That Abbot became our first leader and took the name Ekrizdis which was an old title for the lost Temple's leader."
Ekrizdis paused once again to let his words sink in. It was the story that Harry had heard from Remus, and it fit what he expected. The notion of surviving the genocide made sense, the Air Nomads were too spread out for Sozin to kill all of them, so it was all plausible and many would easily accept that.
"Since then, all leaders of the Temple and as such all leaders of the Air Nomads which are all airbenders in the world have taken the name Ekrizdis upon selection to the role." Ekrizdis said continuing his speech. "I am the 13th of them and the one who will reveal us to the world. I know that 300 years is a long time and we had opportunities to reveal ourselves in the past, both after the 100-year war when the Fire Nation was finally brought to heel by Avatar Aang and Harmonic Convergence, but my predecessors decided against it. I am different for I know that now is the right time."
Ekrizdis took a breath and Harry knew he was glossing over that stuff to avoid having to deal with it and only say what would look good for him, something all manipulative leaders did. Harry had no idea why his predecessors didn't reveal themselves but airbenders did tend to do things at their own pace and in their own special way so that could explain it. He just wanted to hear the rest of what Ekrizdis had to say and get it over with. They had to prepare a counter for this speech.
"I officially revealed our existence to the Air Nation National Congress this summer." Ekrizdis said. "I showed up, told them the truth, and moved to take my rightful place as the leader of all Air Nomads. I make this claim because I am the heir to the first Ekrizdis, the leader of the survivors of the genocide and descended from airbenders who did not get their airbending from Harmonic Convergence's rebalancing. This is how it should be but alas Remus didn't see it this way."
Ekrizdis again paused for effect and Harry had to admit he was making his case well and using his claim of legitimacy through the original Air Nomads to back it up. The man was spinning it to his advantage like a master but if he'd been preparing for this moment for years then he'd no doubt be ready for it. Whatever the case, it would go over well and likely force them on the backfoot to start but Harry knew that they wouldn't stay pat for long.
"Remus insulted me by offering to incorporate me and my people into his false Air Nation rather than accept my rightful rule over him." Ekrizdis continued. "He even tried to illegally arrest me, but I know airbending lost for centuries and am stronger than any airbender in the world, so I broke free. I knew that Remus would seek the Avatar who would want to confirm my claims, so I laid low. Fortunately, not all airbenders are as misguided as Remus. After my appearance, Abbess Edgecombe, and Abbot Brocklehurst, along with their Councils and Temple officially recognized me for what I am and joined me but couldn't officially make it so for fear of retribution from Remus for simply following the legitimate leader."
That Harry knew was bullshit. Remus wouldn't have cared and like Luna would have let the schism happen without doing anything but still prepared for this worse just in case. This was just a tactic to make the late Archabbot look bad. Alas it was working as Ekrizdis was making the first move and thus setting the narrative in his favor early.
"It was a fair fear as Remus's act of refusal was an act of aggression against the true leader and began the path to the schism that has now happened within the Air Nomads." Ekrizdis said. "But more on that in a moment. First my confirmation by the Avatar. You see, I knew that the Avatar would want to meet me on neutral ground and talk with me about my claims to see if they were true. In that vein, we met atop Azkaban Prison a month ago and I told him what I am telling you. Avatar Harry confirmed I spoke the truth and as such confirmed that I am the true leader of the Air Nomads because I speak the truth. Ask him yourself and he will again confirm it, so this means that I have the Avatar's endorsement of my claim."
"No, you don't, and I made that clear to you when we met." Harry growled. "I'm going to have to make a statement condemning him and affirming Luna as the rightful Archabbot."
"We know." Teddy said. "But let's hear what else this fucker has to say so we can correctly refute it."
Harry just nodded as he focused on the VV again. He had to hear what else Ekrizdis had to say to the world.
"Tragically, the day after the Avatar and I met, Remus passed away in his sleep of natural causes at the age of 104." Ekrizdis said though he didn't sound sad at all, and they all knew that the old Archabbot's death wasn't natural. "A long, rich, and great life, one that I will make sure is told in all Air Temples for centuries to come. However, at that age it was only a matter of time before the Spirits came for him and as such a new leader was needed. This was the perfect opportunity for the other high ranking Air Nomads to disavow Remus's orders and correct his mistake by confirming my position as the rightful leader of all Air Nomads. Alas only the two with me chose to honor the true leader."
Ekrizdis paused and looked sad, but Harry knew that it was all an act. He wasn't sad at all; he was playing to those listening and watching as he painted himself in a good light and Luna in a negative one.
"The other 5 opted to ignore the true leader and chose a new false leader in Luna, the Head Abbess of the Western Air Temple." Ekrizdis said his expression hardening on screen. "And make no mistake, she is a false leader. The position of Archabbot is not an Air Nomad position and as such does not exist. It was made to give them a leader when there was no true leader but the true leader, the Ekrizdis, has returned so there is no need for it anymore. Clearly they didn't believe in that and as such a schism has happened within Air Nomad culture."
This was at least true, there was a schism between those who supported Luna and those who supported Ekrizdis. It wasn't so much a belief-based schism as Luna held true to the old philosophies as best she could while trying to modernize them to fit with the world as it was now not as it was before the genocide. No, it was based off who was the rightful leader.
"There are those like Edgecombe and Brocklehurst who know who the right leader is and joined me." Ekrizdis said. "Something I employ all airbenders who know the truth to do and come to the Northern and Eastern Air Temples which have pledged themselves to the true leader. I employ the same plea to those of all nations who are private citizens and wish to aid the Air Nomads and show your support for me."
That wasn't good and Harry knew that the World Leaders all knew it. Ekrizdis was now making a direct plea for aid in building an army which could only mean one thing, the worst that they had been preparing for was about to come to pass. However, Ekrizdis clearly wasn't done so they continued to listen to him.
"The other faction, led by the now excommunicated Davies and Bexley, have sided with Luna's false claim of leadership." Ekrizdis said. "Though they voted against me, Cho and Wroxton have pledged to remain neutral so I will honor their free choice to do so as is the way of the Air Nomads and any who wishes to avoid what is to come should go to the Elemental Academy or Air Temple Island and stay there. I ask that you do so should you choose that path because if you do go to Luna's insurrection against me then you will be considered traitors to the Air Nomads."
Ekrizdis paused and Harry knew that it was coming, Ekrizdis was going to make his big announcement. He'd built up to it so now it was time, time to find out what Ekrizdis wanted and thus what they had to do to counter him.
"For those who stay with Luna or go to her after I end this broadcast, know that if you chose the wrong side you will be punished to fullest extent of Air Nomad law." Ekrizdis said and his tone was completely serious. "That is because from this moment on, Abbess Luna and those who support her are now in open rebellion against their true leader and the Air Nomads who follow me. They have started this conflict by declaring Luna the Archabbot when she is not the rightful leader, and we will now act in self-defense of all Air Nomads to put down this insurrection."
There it was and Harry had to admit that again Ekrizdis had out maneuvered them. By making this announcement before the World Leaders had addressed the schism he was making it out that Luna was the aggressor, the one who was defying the ruler and the one in open rebellion. Thankfully, she had the support of the World Leaders on her side so they could refute this as soon as the broadcast was done.
"I know that the Avatar, who remember confirmed me as the true leader of all Air Nomads when he confirmed my history, and the other World Leaders will claim that Luna is the rightful leader and that I am the one in rebellion, but this is false, and I implore you, the people, to see the truth." Ekrizdis said. "Remember that the World Leaders, who are almost certainly in a meeting right now in Republic City with Luna to figure out how to silence me, are a global elite who look out only for themselves and their own."
Damn. This was not good, and Harry knew it. The interconnected nature of the World Leaders to each other and the Avatar, often through marriage, family, or close friendships, had helped them preserve peace and prosperity in the world. However, that could always come back to bite them in the ass if someone knew how to manipulate it and Ekrizdis was clearly a master manipulator.
"Remember that President Teddy is the late Archabbot Remus's son and the Avatar's godson." Ekrizdis continued. "The Avatar's father was Chief Altinak's godfather. In addition, both the Avatar and Luna are uncle and aunt due to marriages to Chief Dominique and Luna's husband is a former three term President of the United Republic and a member of the Southern Royal Family. Then there is the closeness they all have with Firelord Ursa and King Xiang as both have received personal training and tutelage from the Avatar himself. I ask you, given all of these connections, can you really trust them?"
Harry growled as the other leaders all scowled or in Dominique's case swore at the VV. Ekrizdis had played into the connections between them, connections that made them great for global unity and peace, to turn the people on them and pose as an outsider who was off the people struggling with his claim against them, a claim that he had a good base for as well. It wouldn't fully work but it would damage them.
"You can't but perhaps now they can show you that they can earn it back." Ekrizdis continued. "To all the World Leaders and all other senior figures of the other nations who may resign to join a side, stay out of this. This is an internal Air Nomad conflict that was started by Luna, and I am merely defending myself against her aggression towards me. This is covered by the laws of war as a civil war so back off."
There it was. Ekrizdis had made it clear what was going on and he'd phrased it in such a way that there was no way that they could avoid abiding by the laws of war for what was to come. He'd neutralized all the other nations in a single speech, and he was not done yet.
"Furthermore, if any official resigns to join a side, well I can't stop you, but I ask that you think before you do." Ekrizdis continued. "What does that say to the people of the world when the Chief of Republic City's police department resigns to become a private citizen and volunteer to support her aunt so that she can singlehandedly destroy the Northern and Eastern Air Temples with her lavabending just as Ghazan did to the former many years ago."
Lily swore from where she was, and Harry knew that his daughter was thinking of doing just that minus the destroying a whole Temple part as she'd be extremely useful in the war to come. However once again Ekrizdis had proven that he was an enemy who was not to be taken lightly as he'd called her out in all but name and reminded the world what she could do. This ensured that Lily had to stay out of the coming war.
"All this is so that I can be clear with what is now happening." Ekrizdis said and Harry had a feeling that he was nearing the end of his rant. "This is an Air Nomad matter between the rightful ruler in me and the rebellious claimant in open conflict against me and with no right to rule in Luna. From this moment on we are at war, a war that Luna has declared upon me. That is all I have to say, I hope that many of you chose the right side and those who know they must stay out do so."
With that the Ekrizdis gave one more smile to the camera before it cut out. That was it, it was over, and Harry looked around the room and the other World Leaders all knew it. Ekrizdis had shown his hand, made it clear what was going on, and what the rules that they now had to abide by were. They were in a corner and Harry knew it.
It was official, the schism had turned into what Harry had feared it would. Once again the world was out of balance, once again peace that had reigned for almost 2 decades had been shattered by the will of a madman, and once again the Avatar had to do his duty. Begun, the Airbending Civil War had.
Sorry, couldn't resist an ending like that to show how big the situation was. At last, we are moving into the final stage of Book 5 as the war that no one ever thought could happen has now begun. The Air Nation is in civil war and the Avatar must deal with a war unlike any he's ever seen before as we shift forward with what could be the last major conflict in the life of Avatar Harry. However, that is all I have for this chapter so I will leave it here. As always any questions in PMs or reviews will be answered before the start of the next chapter (as well as replied to if possible). Please follow, favorite and review, all are greatly appreciated. Until next week.
