Hey guys! (And girls or anyone with specific pronouns) hope y'all having a good day! It took me a while to actually write this Chapter, mainly because of the vast amount of research I had to put into getting the most accurate information before doing any free writing and/or assumptions. I won't spoil anything here though, I'll just let y'all read, and enjoy. Thanks for still reading my story, and hanging on this far! It means a lot to me that I actually have fans for a story I continue to write whenever I have the free time :)
Gotham City (Undisclosed Location)
October 27, 2016. 23:41 EDT
As a siren of a police car fades away in the distance, the silence of Batman's dark undisclosed room of recordings is disturbed after the stealthy dark knight clicks on his recorder.
" This is Batman, designation 02. Part two of this Log. Four more league members have gone missing, but our search for Dr. Fate, Icon, Hawkgirl, Aquaman, Red Tornado and Superboy has had some progress. A covert team infiltrated a LexCorp lab hidden up north in the Canadian tundra. Our intel states that there is evidence of heroes being cryogenically frozen. At the moment, it appears that Mr. Freeze is working with Luthor, using the tundra's icy environment as a strategic advantage. We will soon be launching an all out battle to recapture our League members. I chose to investigate further, as this could be a well thought out trap. Further surveillance is required.
As I speak, the Justice League is becoming more divided. As more investigations have been conducted, many are fruitless or worse: another missing member. There are many divides ranging from approval of new laws in place, hindering operations to ranking rescues due to a shortage of available heroes. While there are less heroes to save the world, some members have taken sides and formed unique cliches in response.
I have managed to give refuge for a few teammates who were blamed for atrocities carried out when the league was under control by The Light. We are still assessing the damages, but while we were being controlled, we caused destruction to other worlds, and our own. The Reach has left a deeper impact on earth than we previously expected. Reach technology is still scattered across the planet, creating a new arms race with extraterrestrial weapons and tech that the Reach left behind, many of which has fallen into the hands of very powerful people and organizations. Further investigation is required, as I suspect The Light has a part to play.
The League is facing a battle on multiple fronts, doin-" Batman is cut-off by a voice coming from his earpiece.
"This is Aqualad and Miss Martian! we need backup now! A man named Mr. Freeze has our-!!!" The voice cutout, the sound of loud whooshing and rapid ice formation was the last thing heard before endless static.
"I must go, the Team needs me. I expect to return for another report." Batman said, before turning off the recorder, swiftly exiting the dimly lit room as quietly as it was before he appeared…
Dewford City Gym
June 10, 2016. 17:27
As the lights suddenly flash on, Conner could now clearly see all the faces of the Gym Trainers and Brawly himself, a sky blue haired guy donning orange beach glasses and a black and orange surf suit.
"Alright Machop, let's go!" Brawly roared, sending out a familiar blue bodied humanoid Pokémon.
"Ma-machop!" Machop cried, getting into a battle stance.
"Alright Nova, you ready for this?!" Conner yelled, matching the energy in the room.
"So, you brought a psychic and fairy type. I guess you came prepared!" Brawly commented.
"Hope that's not your excuse for losing then." Conner smugly said back as Nova dashed onto the battlefield, taking a battle stance as well.
Brawly scoffs on Conner's comment. "I'll let you get first move."
Conner scoffed back before commanding Nova's attack. "Alright Nova! Use Disarming Voice!"
"Ralts!" Nova sounded affirmatively, before letting out an ear-piercing scream. "RRRRAAAAAAALLLLLTTTTTSSSS!!!!!!"
The entire gym shook as Machop held its head in pain as Brawly seemed a tad concerned.
"Machop! Storm through it and use Bulk Up!" Brawly commanded.
"Maaa-Chop!" Machop roared, elegantly moving its arms to its sides, before charging up an orange energy around it, before snapping back into a unique fighting stance, as if it's surfing.
"Ralts Ralts!" Nova sounded, looking back at Conner.
"Ready!"
Conner affirmatively smirked back. "Alright Nova! Use Confusion!"
Brawly immediately reacted. "Quick use Seismic Toss!"
Machop then tried to bolt forward at Nova, only to be telekinetically lifted into the air, and shook violently before dropping to the ground, fainted.
"Wow, your Ralts is much stronger than I anticipated." Brawly remarked, grabbing his Pokeball and recalling Machop. "Well let's see how you'll hang against my next Pokémon! Makuhita! Roll tide!!" Brawly said, tossing another Pokeball.
A bipedal Pokémon with a bulky build appears from the red energy released from the capsule. Most of its body is yellow, but it has a black marking on its chest that extends around its neck. Its round hands resemble black boxing gloves, but its feet are yellow with two visible toes. On its cheeks are red, ring-shaped markings, and it has slit-like eyes. On top of its head is a knot, which makes it resemble a punching bag.
"Maku maku!" It screeched, stomping its feet down menacingly.
"This one's new." Conner said, carefully watching. "Alright Nova, let's hit it with Confusion!" Conner shouted.
"Ralts Ralts!" Nova sounded.
Nova then charged up a bit of psychic energy before telekinetically lifting the sizable Pokémon off the ground, before slamming it down, only for it's fat to cause it to bounce around vigorously.
"Alright Makuhita! Use the motion of the bouncy ocean to hit em with Knock Off!" Brawly commanded.
Suddenly the Makuhita began bouncing around Nova, even bouncing off the walls a couple times, confusing the Ralts before bouncing behind, doing a brutal punch down on Nova's head, sending the Ralts flying back.
"Nova! Are you okay?!" Conner yelled out.
"Ralts…" Nova sounded, holding her head in pain.
"…Okay!"
Nova then began to rise in confidence, as Conner could feel it too, both ready to strike back!
Suddenly, Nova began to glow a harsh white light, brightening every dark corner of the gym, and blinding everyone inside.
"Evolution during battle?! Now that's a big wave!" Brawly exclaimed.
The bright harsh light quickly faded, revealing a slender bipedal, humanoid Pokémon that appears to be wearing a tutu. Most of its body is colored white, and there are three ruffles on each hip. Beneath the ruffles, it has skinny green legs with long, pointed feet. Its arms are also thin with two digits each. It has green hair that covers most of its face and reaches its shoulders on either side, resembling two ponytails. Large, red eyes are visible on either side of the hair that covers its face. On each side of its head is a flat, red horn that resembles a hairpin.
"Wow, Nova! That's great!" Conner cheered.
"Kirli!" Nova sounded, ecstatically spinning.
"This is…Okay!"
"Nova! You're talking!" Conner stammered.
"Talking is okay?"
"We'll work on your vocabulary later." Conner replied.
"Good, cause we're still in a battle! Y'all washed out yet?!" Brawly yelled from across the battlefield.
"Not at all!" Conner replied."Nova, you still good to fight?"
"Still good to fight!" Nova nodded affirmatively.
"Alright Nova, use Confusion!" Conner yelled, pointing at the bouncing Makuhita.
"Kirli-kirl!" Nova roared as she quickly locked onto Makuhita, seizing it with her even more powerful telekinetic power, lifting the sandbag Pokémon high up into the air.
"Maku! Makuhita!" Makuhita cried, struggling fruitlessly to escape the intense psychic hold.
Before Brawly could give a helpful command to Makuhita, Nova began shaking the Pokémon violently, twisting and turning its body midair, causing dizziness and confusion to the fighting type Pokémon, before Nova smashes the round Pokémon into the gym floor, embedding Makuhita into the wooden floor up to its neck, it's eyes completely spiraled out, fainted.
"Whoa, wow! You made a much bigger splash than I expected!" Brawly exclaimed, recalling his Makuhita to its Pokeball, staring at the deep hole in the floor.
Conner could see Brawly getting visibly upset about the damaged floor, until a blue haired battle girl gym trainer came over and nudged him.
"OK, you've got me. Take this Gym Badge!" Brawly said, reaching into his pocket on his shorts to grab a copy of his badge, walking up to Conner.
"The Knuckle Badge makes all Pokémon up to Level 30, even those you get in trades, obey without question. Hmm... You know what? I think you can make full use of this, too. I'm sure this will help your Pokémon bulk up muscle!" Brawly said, taking a disk from his other pocket, handing it to Conner.
"Bulk Up temporarily enhances the Pokémon's muscle power. The move boosts both Attack and Defense stats of the Pokémon. I can see your talent becoming a giant wave that causes a storm of astonishment with Trainers one day! I look forward to the day when I can surf your giant wave!"
"Okay, thanks. I didn't expect the battle to be so quick." Conner commented, accidentally causing Brawly to react.
"Well dude, this is just my Gym team. My World Tournament team is too big a wave for you to handle." Brawly scoffed.
"I could take you and your team!" Conner said, folding his arms, getting gasps from the trainers nearby.
Brawly begins to chuckle, dismissing Conner. "My Machamp alone would swamp you and your two Badges. Like my master Chuck would say, "Watch the flow! If it's too much for ya, take it slow!" Brawly said, smirking.
"What? What does that have to do with this?" Conner said, still folding his arms.
"It means, come back when you're stronger dude." Brawly shrugged, itching to surf. "By the way, have you been to Granite Cave? It's located to the north of this town. It's full of fascinating stuff, like rare stones and wall paintings thousands of years old. My friend Steven rushed to the cave after I told him about it."
"So that's where he is! Perfect. I have to deliver something to him. I'll be back after I drop this off." Conner said, scooping Nova up and heading to the exit.
"I probably won't be here when you get back! The squad and I are gonna catch some waves, then head over to the Tidewater Tavern for eats!" Brawly shouted, getting cheers from the other gym trainers.
"I'll find you later then." Conner said before exiting the gym doors.
The pair soon head north, passing by various buildings displaying goods and services for People, Pokémon and more. Just before reaching the sign pointing to Route 106, Nova hopped off Conner's shoulder, spotting a small rundown bookstand, looking through the small collection.
"Nova? Are you sure you want to get a book here?" Conner asked, looking at the partially rusted metal sign saying "Fishing Guides & Dewford Island Recreation spots".
"It's a book! Reading!"
Nova then runs up to Conner, holding up a book called "Dewford Island's Prime Fishing Guide".
Conner sighs, before walking around to the owner of the stand, an old grey haired gentleman quietly napping in a blue collapsible chair.
Conner gently taps the older man, stirring him awake.
"G-good day young lad!" The elderly vendor said, stretching from his nap. "Anything I can help with?"
"Yeah, how much for this book?" Conner asked, taking the book from Nova so the older man could see.
The gentleman took a quick glance at the book. "100 Pokedollars and it's yours".
Conner then reached into his pocket and pulled out some of the money, handing him the 100 Pokedollars.
"Pleasure doing business!" The elder said, before slumping back into his chair, soon passing out.
Conner then handed the book to Nova.
"Kirli! Kirl!" Nova cheered, holding the book up with her small arms in joy.
"Alright Nova, let's go. If we hurry, we can make it back to town before it gets dark." Conner suggested.
Nova didn't respond, as her fascination with the book went wild, carefully analyzing each page as she telekinetically held it in place midair.
Conner sighed, before scooping the studious Kirlia, placing her on his shoulder as she continued to read and examine the pages of the cheap book.
The two then continued on course, heading north to Route 106.
International Police Headquarters

"Did you complete your mission?" A man dressed in a brown leather long coat asked, making sure to keep his voice down in the shared office space.
"Yes, although why is this young man so important?" The Lilac haired woman asked.
"This young man is a potential threat to global security. If the Hoenn League and various doctors are concerned, so should we. Now, let's take this vial to the lab." The man replied, holding his hand out for the vial.
The young woman went to her bag, setting aside her nurse disguise, grabbing one of the vials, giving it to her senior officer.
"So, what's the next mission?" The young woman asked.
"Your next mission, Anabel, is to follow the young man. Gather as much intel you can while we run tests on the sample you extracted." He replied, looking closely at the saliva sample.
"Looker, do you think this young man could really be from an Ultra Wormhole? He isn't pale like the ones who came through the Ultra Wormhole back in Alola." Anabel asked, holding her fingers to her lip as she thought deeply.
"I'm not sure. We'll have to see what this sample tells us. He could be from a different planet, a different time, or even a different dimension… or all three." Looker said, before pocketing the sample.
"Maybe we can-" Anabel started, before being cut off by a voice over the intercom above.
"Officer Looker and Agent Anabel, please report to the Research Wing, Lab two. Over."
"Duty calls! Let's get going!" Looker said, opening the door, walking out.
"Hmmm…" Anabel briefly contemplated, glancing back at her bag with the other two vials tucked away deep inside.
Route 106
June 10, 2016. 17:57
"I was born in a village far from the sea, so I've always dreamed of coming to Hoenn." A backpacker man confessed, going out of his way to walk with Conner along the beach.
"Cool life story, but I'm busy." Conner said, still walking.
"But when two trainers lock eyes, it's time for a battle!" The Backpacker whined, before taking out a Pokeball.
"Kirli-Kirl!" Nova sounded, hopping off Conner's shoulder to the ground, taking a defensive stance.
"Nova, we rea-" Conner tried, but was cut off by the other trainer.
"Now Slakoth! I choose you!" The Backpacker yelled, throwing his Pokeball, releasing a brown, quadrupedal Pokémon with sloth-like qualities. It has coarse, shaggy fur with two dark brown stripes on its back. There is a scruff of fur on top of its head, and it has a large, pig-like pink nose, pink eyelids, and dark rings around its eyes. It has long, lanky arms, but shorter legs. Each paw has two sharp claws, and there are pink paw pads on the back feet.
"Slaaaaa…." The Slakoth groaned, laying on the ground.
"Ugh, fine. Nova, let's keep this quick." Conner said, standing behind his Kirlia. "Alright Nova! Use Confusion!"
"Slakoth! Use Yawn!" The Backpacker yelled.
Before the slow moving sloth Pokémon could even react, Nova telekinetically lifted the opposing Pokémon, before shaking it vigorously and slamming it into the ground.
The Slakoth managed to survive, slowly crawling from it's the dusty crater. It then let out a loud yawn, sending a eerie sonic pulse at Nova, whom began looking a bit drowsy.
"Now Slakoth! Use Slack Off!" The Backpacker commanded.
"Nova! Take it down with Magical Leaf!" Conner yelled to his Pokémon.
Nova then began to draw in nearby leaves from the grass and palm trees, while Slakoth started rolling over, loafing around.
"No! Not Truant again! Cmon Slakoth!" The Backpacker pleaded.
Suddenly Nova collapsed, falling down and asleep, as the leaves dropped all around her.
"Nova! What did you do to her?!" Conner yelled.
"Relax, she's only asleep. Slakoth and I now might have a chance!" The Backpacker squealed in excitement.
"No. This is over, now." Conner said, recalling Nova to her ball.
"Wait, don't tell me you have another Pokémon!" The Backpacker exclaimed.
"Pyro! Let's knock this sloth out!" Conner said, tossing up Pyro's Pokeball, releasing the Young Fowl Pokémon.
"Busken." Pyro chirped, nodding affirmatively towards Conner.
"It's good battling with you again Pyro." Conner said, returning the gesture. "Let's take em out with Double Kick!"
"What?!" The Backpacker exclaimed, knowing his Pokémon was now in catastrophic danger.
In an instant, Pyro had speed-blitzed the Slakoth, delivering a powerful kick upwards to launch the Sloth Pokémon high up in the air, before using its powerful legs to jump high up to catch up with Slakoth. Pyro then quickly began flipping in the air, gathering momentum before launching another powerful kick onto the Slakoth, smashing it down into the earth below, kicking up tons of dust and sending a mighty shockwave across the route.
As Pyro gracefully lands back in front of Conner, the dust clears, revealing a fainted Slakoth and a stunned Backpacker scurrying to his Pokémon.
"You grew up with the raging seas, didn't you?" The Backpacker asked, recalling his Slakoth.
"No. If that's all, I must go. There's someone waiting for me." Conner said.
"Very well. Here." The Backpacker groaned, handing Conner 312 Pokedollars.
"Thanks." Conner said, before departing, Pyro walking by his side.
The two didn't have to walk very far, as a large reddish brown rock formation appeared just around the corner. A large cave could be seen just ahead, with a wooden sign posted outside saying "Granite Cave".
"So, Steven is in here…?" Conner said, looking at Pyro.
"Comb." Pyro screeched, before walking forward into the cave.
"I guess we'll see." Conner shrugged, following his Pokémon inside.
The two were soon surrounded in brown rock, stalagmites and stalactites scattered about the floor, walls and ceiling as they noticed a few Bat-like Pokémon nesting above on the ceiling, while a wild Makuhita could be seen in the dimly lit distance, practicing it's punches on a large rock.
Soon Conner spotted a hiker, fully loaded in hiking gear and travel supplies. The duo then walked up to the Hiker, clueless on direction.
"Hey you. It gets awfully dark ahead." The Hiker warned. "It'll be tough trying to explore."
"I'm not too worried about the dark. We just need directions to someone." Conner replied.
"Well, for hikers, helping out those that we meet is our motto. Here you go, I'll pass this on to you." The Hiker said, handing Conner a disk titled "TM70 Flash".
"Thanks… this is interesting…" Conner said, inspecting the disk, before putting it in his bag.
"Teach that Flash to a Pokémon and use it. It lights up even the inky darkness of caves."
"So, do you know where this Steven person is?" Conner asked.
"I did happen to see a silver-haired fellow and a team of researchers head down into the mural chamber." The hiker replied, pointing to an opening down a narrow downward sloping stone staircase.
"Thanks." Conner said, before taking off down the stairs.
Conner and Pyro soon walked inside, seeing the massive wall murals of ancient Pokémon all around. A rock platform directly ahead of Conner stood a silver-haired young man in a black, purple and white tuxedo with a red tie.
Conner then slowly approached, hearing the man whispering to himself.
"…Mm-hmm. So in the ancient world, their primal forms once held this much power…? The super-ancient Pokémon… What terrible strength… But this appearance here… It seems somehow different from Mega Evolution… Hmm. It seems my questions will not be answered today."
"Hey." Conner said, standing behind the mysterious man.
"Hm?" The man said, turning around to see Conner."You are…? …"
"I'm Conner. A man named Mr. Stone asked me to bring this letter to someone named Steven." Conner replied, taking the scroll from his bag.
"Ah, I see. It's a pleasure, Conner. My apologies. My name is Steven. I'm interested in rare stones, so I travel here and there. Today my journey brought me here, but what about you? Oh? A letter for me?" Steven said, taking the scroll from Conner, opening it and quickly reading it to himself.
"Glad this is done, now we can focus on getting to Mossdeep". Conner said to Pyro, nudging the Young Fowl Pokémon.
"Why, thank you… It must have been some trouble to track me down. I suppose I must repay you in some way. Let me see… I will give you this TM. Please accept it. It contains my favorite move, Steel Wing." Steven remarked, reaching into his suit for a metallic disk, handing it to Conner.
"Thanks…" Conner said, briefly inspecting the disk.
Steven then turned back at the mural. "If you don't mind me asking… Do you feel anything in particular when you look up at this wall? A primal world, lost thousands of years in the past… A Legendary Pokémon of tremendous power became humanity's greatest threat… The terror aroused by that power is clear to see in this ancient artwork."
Conner then took a moment to fully examine the wall, seeing beasts unlike anything he'd ever seen.
"I don't feel fear of this… power. I haven't met anything in this world that I'd call terrible power."
"…Yes. But not all power is terrible. Your Pokémon are clearly quite capable as well. Looking at you all together… I think that you have in you what it takes to become a Pokémon League Champion. As long as you keep training, that is." Steven said, packing up his gear nearby, while taking out a special Pokeball.
The two young men then headed back out the cave, just barely managing to catch the sun setting below the waves of the sea as the tide of the sea around Route 106 began to slowly creep higher up the beach.
"Good luck to you. I must be going now." Steven said, releasing a Pokémon from his special Pokeball. His Pokémon is a massive, robotic creature with a silver, disc-shaped body, and four legs. The main body appears to serve as both head and body, and this Pokémon's overall construction gives it the appearance of a mechanized arachnid. A large, golden cross is situated in the center of its face. On either side of the cross, a red eye peers out from a space in Metagross's metallic armor. Its four legs are joined to the main body by ball-and-socket joints. While the upper portion of the legs is relatively thin, they are considerably thicker below the knee. Each leg has three short claws on the end and a flat, blunt protrusion extending over the knee.
"Conner and Pyro watched in shock of this Pokémon as Steven hopped on top, standing on its head while it tucked in it's legs, floating in the air. Steven then gave a small wave to Conner as He and his Pokémon rose high up, taking off into the sunset.
"We should've asked for a ride." Conner groaned. "Guess we'll call it a night. Let's head back to town".
"Combusk-ken-ken!" Pyro chirped, taking a racing stance as it kicked sand up with its talons.
"Oh you want to race?! Alright, your loss." Conner teased.
"Busken!" Pyro screeched, now ready to race, spewing fire and determination.
"Ready!… set!…GO!" Conner yelled, prompting the two to take off with great speed, kicking up huge clouds of sand and dust behind.
Tidewater Tavern (Dewford Town)
June 10, 2016. 19:27
"Those were some sick waves out there today, right Brawly?!" A familiar dreadlock-haired surfer said, clasping onto Brawly's shoulder.
"Yeah, but that Conner dude really washed out my gym team. I just wish I could rematch him and show em how big a wave my other teams are." Brawly sighed, before sipping his drink.
"Don't stress him Brawly! You'll get your chance to beat him!" A battle girl sporting the Dewford Gym uniform said, gently punching Brawly in the arm.
"Thanks Tessa, you always know what to say-" Brawly said, before being interrupted by Conner walking in, getting stares from everyone as the tavern became eerily quiet.
"So, I heard you want a rematch with me?" Conner said, casually sitting next to Brawly.
"Yeah! Let's shore up a good battle!" Brawly replied, fire in his eyes.
"Hey! No battles in my tavern! Y'all got something to settle, then ya settle it like men!" An older gentleman behind the counter washing a cup yelled.
"Arm Wrestle!" "Arm Wrestle! "Arm Wrestle!" The crowd of people inside the tavern chanted.
"Alright, Alright!" Brawly said, sitting at the other side of the table with his arm ready. "Just warning you, I never lose!"
Conner then promptly sat in front of Brawly, grabbing his hand. "Neither do I."
An gym trainer from Brawly's Gym appeared, playing referee for this arm wrestling match. "Alright, we gonna have a nice good ol clean arm wrestling match here tonight, starring Conner, and our glorious big wave in fighting, Brawly!"
Loud shouts and cheers sounded all across the tavern, almost everyone cheering for their hometown Gym Leader.
"Alright! Contestants! Ready! 3….2….1..GO!" The referee yelled, prompting the start of the competition.
Brawly gradually applied force, soon fully flexing his bicep to move Conner's arm. Conner hadn't even budged, easily holding his arm in place, while picking up a nearby menu, and began to read it.
"Don't… get… cocky!.." Brawly grunted, now using all his strength to push down Conner's arm, but failed. The cheers of the crowd began to quickly die as everyone soon realized that their hometown hero was outmatched.
"You're just a slight tad bit stronger than Aqualad ..barely." Conner scoffed, still not budging.
"W-who…the… heck..is..Aq..ua..lad?!.." Brawly grunted.
"The most serene guy I know. Unfortunately…" Conner said, before slamming Brawly's arm down, obliterating the wooden table, dragging Brawly through it as well, slamming the Gym Leader hard onto the floor, breaking his entire right side of his body in a loud horrific crunching sound.
"Whoops, I-" Conner said, before being surrounded by the entire group of the Surfing Gym Leader's underlings.
"Somebody get em to the hospital!" The tavern keeper yelled.
Three of the trainees scooped up their leader and left while the rest of Brawly's disciples took fighting stances around Conner.
"Look, I didn't mean to hurt him. I thought he was tougher." Conner said, casually putting his hands up.
"You're gonna pay!" One of the trainers yelled, dashing at Conner, punching as hard as he could into Conner's chest. The trainer then winced in pain as he held his puffed up hand, taking more damage than Conner, who simply shrugged.
"Trust me guys, y'all don't want to fight me. It's not worth it." Conner warned, putting his hands back down, making all the surrounding trainees step back in shock.
"We have to avenge Brawly! We can take em all at once if we work together!" The Battle girl Tessa cried.
Suddenly the tavern keeper stepped in, standing between Conner and the gym trainers. "Now now, we don't need any more damages in here! If y'all gonna fight, do it somewhere other than here!" He said, before looking directly at Conner. "And you, you owe me a new table!"
"How much?" Conner asked.
"I rekon 2000 Pokedollars will cover it.". The gentleman donning a server apron replied.
"2000 dollars?!" Conner exclaimed. "Fine, here." Conner said, before going into his pocket, grabbing the money and handing it to the old man. "I'm outta here. My Pokémon need rest anyway." Conner said, moving past the gentleman and the trainees.
"This ain't over dude! We gonna bust you up! For Brawly!" The dread-headed trainer declared.
"For Brawly!" The other surrounding Gym members chimed.
"Sure, I'll be waiting." Conner said, before exiting the Tavern doors.
And that's curtains on this Chapter! It's been pretty exhausting writing this Chapter not gonna lie. So anyway, we have a bunch to go over, so let's get it!
-So Mr. Freeze is in! I figured it'd be cool (pun possibly intended) to have a villain that had yet to appear in the Young Justice Universe. If Batman exists here, then so does his enemies.
-The Reach: definitely took advantage of the lapse in time when the light had control over the Justice League, as an alien invasion on earth would have lasting repercussions no matter what version of Earth we talk about. The show (and my own research through various media) didn't explain more about the Reach's influence, other than when the show came out with the whole Meta-Gene arc with the human trafficking and… oh my bad, meant to warn of spoilers.
-Nova evolving was inevitable by this point, especially since everything about this entire gym battle swung in favor of the psychic/fairy Pokémon. Like, Nova as Ralts at level 18-19 could OHKO or 2HKO every member of Brawly's team, and after Nova evolved, winning wasn't even a question. I know it could've been more dramatic, but Brawly's team had no way of doing serious damage without Bulk Up, and against a special attacker that's faster than you, supereffective and STAB, you may as well be using splash lol
-Oh and Conner's infrared vision made sneaking around the pitch black gym easy.
-Brawly is a nice guy… at least in the few episodes and dialogue he's been featured in, he seems like a decent person, however I don't think the fighting gym leader would back down from any challenge, especially ones involving strength. He's likely the probably easily upsetted when something is preventing him from surfing, (like having to fix a hole in the gym floor) as the guy has no qualms with shutting down his gym for days/weeks to surf. I had to do tons of digging to see how Brawly would act/react meeting someone like Conner, but there isn't really anyone like Conner…
That being said, I have to make an educated assumption that Brawly might not personally like Conner, but will still respect him, while being the strongest trainer on the island both physically and Pokémon training. Conner by 2016 has become more mature, less explosive, much more mellow and in touch with his emotions, but he's still working on his anger. I believe the two would have a level of competitiveness towards each other, although I'm sure we all can agree Brawly wouldn't stand a chance against Superboy in most competitions (emphasis on most) and I don't have very many outstanding strength feats for Brawly, but it's shown many times in Pokémon that regular people/humans are durable enough to take direct hits from Pokémon moves and still get up and walk it off!
-Anabel and the International Police. Basically the CIA of the Pokémon world, but better. Why Anabel has extra samples? Guess we'll find out later.
-Steven and Metagross. They'll be back.
-So now it looks like Conner is an enemy of they gym… though arm wrestling someone with immeasurable strength is always certainly a bad idea, making yourself an enemy of the people you're stranded on an island with is probably worse, but considering just how powerful he is, the next chapter is sure to be interesting.
Well, I guess this is it for this Chapter! It was fun making these binge of chapters for y'all! Let me know what you think! Not sure when the next Chapter will drop, but now that I have easier access than before, I can keep writing when I can. So, would y'all like occasional one at a time chapters, or a long binge every while or so?
I can't wait to hear what y'all think, and I'll try to not make y'all wait so long, as I'm getting the next Chapter (and more) rolled out soon!
