It was over. Donnie wasn't sure how you did it, but it was done, in a flash. The portal was closed. Shredder and Kraang were defeated and all over New York safe and secure. Wreaked buildings from the fight, now piles of rubble and chunks coated in a thin layer of warm energy floated and began reassembling back to its form; in fact, everything damaged began healing. He found himself with the same thin layer around him, like his brothers, the other turtles, and the Mutanimals. Donnie wouldn't be surprised if those closest in the vicinity felt the warm pulsating wave of energy you emitted.

April, regaining consciousness, looked to the sky, finding you there suspended in calmly in the center. Lighting up the night sky like Northern lights. Her eyes couldn't pull away and drowned in the beautiful sight. Slowly she stood, her mouth slightly open, placed a soft hand over her heart. Something warm filled it as your energy washed over her; closing her eyes, a single tear rolled. You looked gentle with your soft, fiery skin and silverish vine markings running across. Your hair, four times its length, translucent and aflame, danced like a wisp. A person could easily mistake you as a fairy or higher being from the four transparent wings sprouting from your back. The marking, similar to an extra eye, on your forehead glowed brightly, matched your transfixed eyes. Everyone couldn't stop staring, though you hadn't noticed or didn't.

Your focus centered on the soft, circular, conductor movements of your hands and arms. It was like an aerial ballet watching you and the way everything intricately followed. Lightning danced around you; winds pushed away, sweeping up any debris gently. The ground that had split and incurred damage was stitched back up. Sending small vibrations through the ground. You seem to know what to do instinctively, the slightest movement of your finger…nudge of the chin…anything really an action followed. Your mouth remained closed; not a single word or spell slipped out. You didn't need them, nor did they matter. Noticing the Technodrome(without looking) still present, opened a slither underneath, and it dropped down, vanishing. All rock soldiers were sent back; some even tried to run but to avail.

There was something else, tendrils of translucent energy trailing like vines upward, into you with a soft chiming noise. Mikey and a few others jumped out of the way of the energy, finding it went straight through them. Curious, Mikey stuck his hand through and pulled it back; it was like warm icy.

"Whoa," he gasped, slowly putting his hand back through.

"How long will she stay like that," another Leo asked, scratching his head while other Raph and Donnie tied up Shredder and Kraang.

Donnie tried to think of a guest but found none. He cast an uncertain gaze at April but hadn't seen. Her focus was on you. Worry and uncertainty plastered on her face. Slowly she walked forward, each step desperate to run, but she held back. She extended a hand towards you, realized something, and withdrew it somberly.

You seem to have seen it or felt it because seconds after everything you had been doing folds and settles. Slowly you began descending to the ground; the others hurry over, stopping a few feet. All eyes remaining on you; when the tip of your foot touched down, your form vanished instantly, and you were restored to normal. Pupils and all, though your hair doubled in length.

No one said anything; April tentatively and boldly stepped forward, "M…May?" She called softly, reaching out.

A low growl rumbled from your throat, and your eyes opened. Blinking a few times, you adjust your blurry vision and smile, seeing everyone was well. When you saw April up, and well, your eyes welled as if tears came and threw your arms around her tightly.

"Sister!" You cried, squeezing her. "You are alright."

Stunned for a second, April instinctively wrapped her arms around you. "Yeah. You?"

She felt you nod your head on her shoulder; her nerves vanished. You gave one more squeeze and released her; Mikey threw an arm around your shoulder, nearly knocking you over. Other Mikey did the same thing, throwing up a surfer hand signal. Mondo Gecko did the same thing or tried to. Feeling the pressured question rising, Slash and the others wanted to say it but held back.

Other Mikey made sure Shredder and Kraang's bounds were secured with another mighty tug before heading back to their dimension. Other Donnie had the ray that would open the portal, but you jumped in and offered to do so instead. With a concentrated look and flick of the wrist, a decent-sized portal opened for the other turtles. Pleased, you giddy smile while sighing, relieved it worked.

"Full surprises aren't you," another Raph joked, nudging you. You laughed, embarrassed, "don't be a stranger, okay?" He winked and walked into the portal.

You stood by April and said your goodbyes. Other Donnie flushed a darker shade of green when you took his hands, gave a squeeze with a tender smile. He tried to say bye, but his lips flapped and settled for an awkward smile instead.

Once they left and Bebop and Rocksteady chose to be heroes instead, you and the group left and headed back to the lair. Upon arriving, you begin cleaning when Donnie asked if you could join him in the lab. Unsure why you comply. He had you sit in a chair and attached a few wires(something he hadn't done in a while).

"Okay, don't move, alright?"

You nod, remembering, and stiffen up. Donnie stood behind his computer; swiftly, his fingers glided over the keys. A few monitors turned on, and other mechanical noise whirled softly. As you sat, the others did their best to find some way to preoccupy their time; it provided little help. April especially paced from the living area to the kitchen, stopping a few times to glance worryingly at the lab. In all honesty, she felt Donnie didn't need to run a diagnostic on you; a part of her had a heavy feeling…what it was, with you. And something else in her, crawling over that caused her heart to feel empty suddenly.

After about twenty minutes, what felt like hours, Donnie was done, and you came out peachy. Realizing the time and feeling a solemn shift among the others that lodged a bit of sadness in you, you kept your smile on and bid everyone a good night.

The flight back home felt….dragging. You'd be lying to yourself if you didn't know why, dropping your eyes to gaze at the city beneath you…beneath…the word clenched a hand tightly over your heart, you stopped flying for a moment and held a hand over it.

Beneath, you thought, shutting your eyes for a moment, and found yourself suddenly back…in the nexus feeling… a symphony of liberation, clarity, and unbound. This giddiness swept over you; you weren't sure where it was coming from…well, you sort of did. There was so much…here. So much you could see and…touch (though you rarely did). It didn't feel empty anymore. The longer you stayed, the more you felt….felt yourself becoming….

The ring from an incoming call opened your eyes and brought you back, reaching down to get it to see it was Bishop. He was probably wondering where you were; letting it go to voicemail, you hurry and make your way to him while occasionally dropping somber glances down at the city below.

"I have returned," you announced yourself the moment you flew in and landed back home, finding the large garage empty of people and others, except Bishop, who sat patiently in a foreboding way.

His normal stoic face was crestfallen than you had ever seen, and it worried you gravely as he stood and sullenly walked over to you. Your mouth dried up, and your eyes widen with the step he took; the only sound echoing was your heart beating against your ribs that speed up and dropped when he rested his hands on your shoulders. They felt like a ton, and the words he spoke dropped your heart from existence.

You wanted to object, but the words vanished, and your head hung with sorrowful agreement.
